My first full-length My Little Pony story, so criticism and advice I welcome with open arms. This was just an idea that shot of nowhere when I was at school. Basically, Rainbow Dash is a male and all the other Mane 6 are females. Before you ask the two questions I'm sure you're thinking, no I am not going by the name Rainbow Blitz (Mostly because I didn't invent the name, and it seems rude to just take it). Rainbow Dash is a name that can still work for a male RD (Also, just be clear I have no dislikes against the name Rainbow Blitz. In fact I find it quite clever). The other question is most likely if I'm going to go all harem and make Dash fall in love with all of the 6. No, for this story, it's just going to be Twilight Sparkle. Don't like it, don't read it.

This story will mostly be the episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic but told in the point of view of Rainbow Dash. And most of the chapters will have a sort of TwiDash sense to it. Without further ado, let us begin!

As soon as I woke up inside the comfort of my home, I could tell the day was going to be like any other; awesome. How would it not be? After all, the day featured me and anything that featured me, well, just call yourself lucky if you were to stumble upon my coolness. Hopping out of my bed with a large grin, I extended my closed wings and stretched them to get rid of all the cramp feelings in them whilst also flexing my hooves. I begin to head to the entrance when I pass by a mirror and I smirk, "Hey there, handsome." I say to a tall, well-built Pegasus stallion with a cyan coat, rainbow-colored mane that was short and spiky and a tail of the same color but was all zig-zaggy in style. My super-cool cerise eyes drew to the mark on my flank consisting of a cloud and a lightning bolt colored with red, yellow and blue and I smirk.

"A cupcake sounds good about now," I noted after finally drawing myself away from my reflection as I headed out of my bedroom and into the other parts of my house. The ground was fluffy and utterly white, but that is what happens when you live on a cloud, "Wonder if Pinks has some for me." I crack a grin as my wings extend and in a moment of flapping them, I took off out of my home and into the air of my home Ponyville.

Of course I didn't always live in Ponyville. Na, I come from Cloudsdale, one of the most awesome places you'd ever meet. But, of course, it had me there so of course it was like that. After a lot of mis-haps and what-not, I finally settled here as a weather pony. It was my duty to clear clouds, make it rain, practically anything with the sky was what I took care of.

Delving deeper into the village, I soon see a large building looking like something out of a fairytale. It was huge and looked as if it were baked instead of built. Sugarcube Corner was every foals dream and every dentists' nightmare. It contained it all; candy, cupcakes, cakes, anything sweet and they were all tasty. I really enjoy the ones with a mix of all frosting, sorta like a Rainbow cupcake.

Landing on my hooves, I look up at the sky and note that there were quite a number of clouds in the sky. I'll get to that later, for now, there are cupcakes to be ate! I push open the door and almost immediately was met with a pink blur.

"Hey hey hey, Dashie!" The ever-so bright and cheery (And sometimes annoying) Pinkie Pie exclaims as she pops up out of nowhere, "Kinda late for you to be arriving, it's like afternoon time!"

"Yeah, I overslept," I say with a simple shrug, "So, Pinkie, you got any Rainbow cupcakes for me?"

"Yup-yup!" Pinkie turns and bounces over to behind the counter where she lifts a tray of the delicious goodies and from the overpowering smell, they were freshly baked, "Fresh batch, made 'em this morning!" She looks up, "Help yourself, Dashie."

I grin and grab a few and stuff them into my mouth, "How mush fer 'em?" I muffle out through a mouthful of baked goodness.

Pinkie paused and seemed to be doing some math problem in her mind, "You ate six, and the price of one would be the equal to the number four split in half-"

"So two bits for one cupcake?"

"Yes! And if we do multiplication of six we get-" Pinkie turned around as a chalkboard came out of nowhere and she began scribbling all these words and letters with a piece of chalk in her mouth that honestly made no sense. Pinkie Pie was cool and all, but half the time she was just random, "Carry the six, bring over the three and if we cross over the five then we get-"

"Twelve," I sigh as I drop the respectable amount of coins on the counter, "There ya go, Pinkie."

"Funny, I got fourteen-"

"That's ain't so bad, Pinks."

"Million."

"Ah..." I give her a weird look.

"Anyways, Dashie, did ya hear the news? There's a new pony in town?! I have to throw a huge party for them!" That doesn't surprise me. Pinkie Pie was always throwing parties for everypony. They weren't that bad in fact, they were actually kind of awesome. And she threw about twice a week so it wasn't like you had to wait for it, "I need to investigate more though." She disappeared under the counter and emerged dressed in a long trench coat and a fedora over her cotton candy mane with a mustache, trying to look suspicious when in actual fact she just looked like an idiot.

I let out a laugh as I fall back, trying to conceal, "You've lost your mind, Pinkie!"

"I didn't lose my mind...it just went out to dinner! And the opera, and it went on a cruise and won't be coming back for a while."

I blink at her odd statement. The way she spoke made it seem as if she did lose her mind, "Um, o...kay. Anyways, I've got clouds to clear. See ya later, find me if you gather more info on the new pony in town. Try and throw a good party." And with that I headed out of the bakery and into the air. However, due to my being on the ground so long caused my flying to go wonky. Going up and down and all over the place before I began shooting ahead, though very low on the ground. As I continued on, all I saw was a purple blob before I crashed into it and I saw mud splatter all over me.

I can only see a purple and brown mess of a pony as I got off them and let out a low chuckle, "Uh, 'scuse me?" I lean forward with a grin on my face. A groan escapes the mess and I laugh some more as I float into the air, "Lemme help you." I dash off (Yep, Dash, just like my name; cool right?) and grab a rain-full cloud and hover it in front of the pony and I bounce on it as the water empties from it and onto the pony. Looking down, I bite back a grin at seeing how drenched the mare was, "Oops, I guess I overdid it." Placing a hoof to my chin, I think, "Oo, ah, how about this?" I began to spin in a circle around her, creating a rainbow-colored vortex, "My very own patented Rain-Blow Dry!" Slowly closing my eyes, I float down, acting cool, "No no, don't thank me, you're quite welcome."

I was met with the sight of a purple unicorn with a dark-blue and pink messed up mane and tail. I stiffle a giggle as tears of laughter spring to my eyes and I try to fight it but eventually I can't and I fall back, "Bwahahahaha!" I fall back, unable to control the pools of laughter spreading to me at the sight. How could I not? She just looked so weird...and funny! I hear another cry of laughter and something fell on me but I was to busy laughing my head to notice.

"Let me guess. You're Rainbow Dash," The mare stated with annoyance.

I jump up, knocking whatever was on me away. I now see it was a short purple dragon with green scales. Talk about cool, even if it was a small one. I point a hoof at me and grin, "The one and only." I hover in the air and float in front of the mare, "Why, you heard of me?"

She still looks annoyed, "I heard you were supposed to be keeping the sky clear." As she released a sigh, I moved to lay on a cloud, "I'm Twilight Sparkle and the Princess sent me to check on the weather." The Princess? What was she doing caring about the weather? Oh yeah, that celebration that's on.

"Yeah, yeah, that'll be a snap. I'll do it in a jiffy. Just as soon as I'm done practicing," I wave it off in boredom but secretly I grin. Good ol' Rainbow Dash, always playing it smooth with the mares.

"Practicing? For what?"

I roll over and lift myself up and thrust a hoof forward, "The Wonderbolts!" My hoof goes straight towards a poster on a wall, "They're gonna perform at the Celebration tomorrow, and I'm gonna show 'em my stuff!"

"The Wonderbolts?"

"Yep," I reply as I relax on a different cloud.

"The most talented flyers in all of Equestria?" She asks.

"That's them," I simply say.

I hear her make a 'pfft' noise, "Please. They'd never accept a Pegasus who can't even keep the sky clear for one measly day."

My competitive nature rises up and I frown at her, "Hey, I could clear this sky in ten seconds flat."

The annoying mare grins at me, "Prove it."

And then it activates in me. I immediately dis-spell the cloud I'm on and head to the next one which I send a buck-kick to, then another and another, making numerous noises, "Loop the loop around and wham!" Once done, I land on the side of a bridge with a confident grin, "What did I say? Ten seconds flat. I'd never leave Ponyville hanging." I smirk at their wide-eyed, mouth-open expressions, "Ha-ha, you should see the look on your face." I float around, playing it cool of course, "You're a laugh, Twilight Sparkle." I state as I float by her side, "And probably pretty cute once you fix your mane, I can't wait to hang out with you some more." And with that said, I take off, Oh yeah, I definitely played it awesome.

It was mid-afternoon and the clouds were clear from showing off to that Twilight Sparkle so I decided to take a nap. Nothing beat relaxing on a fluffy white cloud and bathing in the bright sun as you slept. It was heaven. Nothing could interrupt me now; Rainbow "The Great" Dash was in the zone. The sleeping zone that was. It my sanctuary, my peace, my-

"DASHIE!"

My cerise eyes flicker open and I release a groan of annoyance as I recognize the voice that ruined my nap time, "What Pinkie?" I look down over the cloud to see the mare bouncing up and down.

"I found out where this new pony lives! In the library, doesn't that just sound super-fun? I've never had a library party before, think of the possibilities that await for this new breed of parties!" She shouted to me excitedly as she smiled.

I immediately thought of Twilight and I realize it would be amusing to see her again so I end up agreeing to Pinkie Pie and I follow her back to the library. When I enter, I see it's full of ponies, including some I recognize. I follow Pinkie Pie but not before grabbing a cupcake and I shove it into my mouth just before I notice an old acquaintance of mine.

"Applejack," I greet the orange Earth pony with a smirk. Me and her know each other through the Annual Running of the Leaves, a race competition and we usually square off in. I have to admit for an Earth pony, she's not that bad, actually quite fast.

"RD," She acknowledges. I never understood that nickname, yet she always called me that whenever we met so I might as well say my nickname.

"So, AJ, you meet the new pony in town?"

"Eeyup, seems ta be ah nice 'nuff gal. Ate ah lot o' pie," She looks at me, "You?"

I could only grin, "We've met. She got muddy, then wet, then her hair went all big and poofy." I let out a giggle.

"That was you who caused that? Oh, I simply just thought it was always like that!" I look up to see the white Unicorn named Rarity. We've met sometimes, mostly her giving out about my mane, which she calls a disaster. Maybe it is a mess and all but I like it. You should hear what she thinks of my tail...

"It was an accident, she came outta nowhere!" I try to explain but it is interrupted by Pinkie shouting out that she was coming near. The lights flicked off, surprisingly dark and soon the door opened but somepony was dragged out and then entered again.

"Huh, rude much?" The voice of the dragon of hers asked.

"Sorry, Spike," Her voice makes me smirk in amusement. I wonder what her mane was like now. Worse? Better? Cuter? I shake my head at the last thought, "But I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Moon is coming and we're running out of time!" The name sounds oddly familiar to me, "I just need to be alone so I can study without a punch of crazy ponies tryin' to make friends all the time." I'm not crazy! The others may be but I'm not! "Now, where's the light?" I notice it besides me and with a bigger smirk, flick it awake.

"SURPRISE!" Everypony shouted and I fought a laugh at her shocked expression. She sure did look cuter without the big fro on her head. I saw Pinkie Pie speaking rapidly to her and from the look on her face she wasn't exactly happy about it. By my side, I see Fluttershy who must have just arrived now. I exchange a quiet greeting with her. 'Shy's my best friend. We've been together since we were just foals. My hot-headedness and short-temper kept me distant from other kids and her shyness drove her away to. I look at Twilight and decide to meet her again.

My wings flap and I take off to go behind her to see if I can talk to her but the others join me and are there as well. My eyes go straight towards the odd drink she was gulping down before she turned around, cheeks bunched, face red, tears falling down her face. I heard Applejack ask if she was okay before she flew in the air, straining as her mane and tail literally caught fire! She then turned and whizzed off.

"Aw, she's so happy she's crying!" Pinkie smiled brightly, oblivious to the obvious.

I just roll my eyes.

Why do we have to watch the sun be risen? A cooler thing to watch would be me flying through the skies, cruising around performing all kinds of tricks. And the Wonderbolts would see and offer me to be their leader, and I would casually accept.

I was floating in the air but then I saw the purple Unicorn herself with the dragon on her back. With a smirk, I rush off and land beside her, "'Sup?"

She looks to see who spoke and then frowns once she notices it is me, "You..."

"Me," I casually reply, "Nice to you're mane looking nice, better than the mess from before." I smirk.

"No thanks to you," Twilight states with annoyance.

"I never introduced myself, I'm Spike," The dragon on her back waved a claw at me, trying to divert Twilight from her anger.

"Rainbow Dash, the coolest pony you will ever meet," I look casual and cool as I speak and while the baby dragon looked at me in awe, Twilight herself rolled her eyes at me. Why would she do that? "Alright. I'm sorry for messing up your mane." I eventually grumble out.

Before she could accept my apology, Pinkie Pie came and shoved me out of the way, saying something quick to Twilight. But then the sound of Fluttershy's birds cheep and a light shines on the Mayor of the town; Mayor Mare.

"Fillies and Gentlecolts. As Mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration," At once everypony starts to cheer, "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise and celebrate this, the longest day of the year." I look at Twilight and see her staring off into something. I follow her gaze to see her looking at the moon. She just gets weirder by the minute, "And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you, the ruler of our land." She looks pretty worried now, wonder what could be wrong, "The very pony that gives us the sun and the moon-" Yadda-yadda-yadda, move on, lady, "-each and everyday. The good, the wise-" The most annoying, "-the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria; Princess Celestia!" The curtains swing open, revealing nothing.

"Nice trick, Rarity!" I shout out and was about to burst out laughing when I heard Twilight declare;

"This can't be good."

"Calm down, everypony," The mayor tries assuring us, "There must be a reasonable explanation."

"Ooo, I love guessing games! Is she hiding?" Pinkie Pie looks around.

"Maybe the great Rarity made her poof into thin-air?" I snort.

"She's gone," I then hear Rarity gasp.

"Oh horseapples," I curse which sets everypony off into a row of gasps.

"Oh, she's good!" Pinkie laughed and I blink as she then gulps, "Aaaah!"

I look to see what she was talking about, only to see dark-blue mist around where the princess should be. Twilight mutters "Oh-no" and then I know something bad is going down.

The mist forms into the figure of a dark Alicorn and then Twilight says that weird name again, "Nightmare Moon." I hear a thump and look to see Spike had fainted.

"Oh my beloved subjects," She speaks as she looks around us, "It's been so long since I've seen your precious little sun-loving faces."

Seeing as I was the only pony there who seemed to not be struck with shock, I rise up and glare at her, "What did you do to our Princess?" I was about to rush off after her, but something clamps on my teeth and drags me back. I look back to see Applejack holding my tail with her teeth.

The evil Alicorn releases a chuckle, "Why? Am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?"

"Ooo, ooo, more guessing games!" Pinkie, still as cheerful as ever. If I didn't leave by the rule of not hitting mares, I might have just socked her in the face, "Um, Hokey Smokes! How about...Queen Meanie? No! Black Snooty, Black Snooty-" AJ shoves an apple into her mouth, shutting her up.

"Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years?" She floats in front of Fluttershy, scaring her. Then she moves to Rarity, "Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?"

"I did!" I blink and look to see Twilight Sparkle, not looking afraid in the slightest, "And I know who you are. You're the Mare in the Moon- Nightmare Moon!" Once again everypony just gasps but I just can't help but groan. Nightmare Moon? How uncool can you get?!

"Well, well, well, somepony who remembers me," Nightmare Moon says pleasantly, "Then you also know why I'm here."

"You're here to...to..." All of her confidence from before leaves as she gulps.

"Remember this day, little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth; the night will last forever!"

Lightning strikes behind her as my eyes slowly begin to widen. The day didn't exactly go as I thought it would.

It was not awesome.
