Chapter 37: The Father Part 1

Harry and Luna had nearly eaten all their Nightmare Night candy.

"Never again." Harry groaned as he suckled on a Cherry flavored Jolly Pony lollipop. "Do I want to see another piece of chocolate."

"We agree nephew..." Luna groaned as well. Her tummy rotund from eating ALL her candy and half the candy in the castle on a sugar rush. It was nearly time to raise the moon. She groaned as she tried to move. "Oh dear. We fear we are stuck." She could not roll over to get up. She tried to simply levitate herself up but her horn merely sputtered and died out. The sugar rush affected magic too apparently.

"I'll go get help!" Harry said eagerly after biting the candy off the paper stick and running out of his aunt's room. He passed Blueblood and Fancy Pants on their way to the bathroom both looking disheveled and smelling funny.

Harry bumped into Shining Armor.

"Oooof." The stallion said as the wind was knocked out of him. "Hey kiddo, what's wrong?"

"Auntie Lulu's stuck!" Harry said panickingly.

"What do you mean stuck?" Shining Armor asked curiously with an eyebrow raised.

"I mean she's on her back, her belly big." Harry laid on his back as an example. "And her horn won't do magic! She can't lower the moon! I gotta go get Grandma!" Harry got back up and left. "Bye Shiny!" He left.

"See you later. My son." Shining Armor said as he watched his foal go towards the breakfast room.

"Grandma Grandma Grandma Grandma!" Harry said fast as he skidded to a halt. "Auntie Lulu's stuck on her back!"

"Excuse me?" Celestia asked with ears raised.

"Auntie Luna's stuck from eating a bunch of candy last night! Her bellie's huge!" Harry said urgently. "And she can't do any-"

"Good morning sister." Came Luna's voice. Suddenly looking fine. "The moon is lowering as we speak."

"Huh?" Harry asked looking at his auntie's form. She was no longer big tummied nor was her horn sputtering. "But auntie Lulu you where huge! What happened? And Blueblood and Fancy Pants smelled funny." He also said in a confused voice. "Are they sick or something?"

"No my little prince, but that is something your mother will have to discuss with you when you are older." Celestia put a hoof to her grandson's mane. "As to your auntie's sudden weight loss, when an alicorn uses Lunar or Solar magic, it burns a LOT of calories." She winked at him.

Harry suddenly realized his grandma had put on a bit of weight as well. And smelled like candy.

"Grandma?" He asked.

"Have a nice breakfast my little prince, I'll join you in the Royal Garden for your magic lesson." Celestia hummed happily full of candy...and pancakes...

"Huh." Harry said as he enetered the Royal Dining Hall, a servant escorting the young Prince to the lavish table full of breakfast items from Hay Bacon to bagels. "Weird."

Meanwhile...

"You cheated on me?!" Cadance shouted at Shining Armor.

"It wasn't anything like that!" Shining tried to calm the alicorn princess down.

"My cousin is YOUR SON SHINING!" Cadance shouted. "Oh Celestia's Sun, he's my step-son now!" She laid back on their bed and groaned.

Shining Armor trotted up to the bed and laid next to her. "Celestia asked me to look after Princess Lilliana while she was in the world my son was born in."

"What?" Cadance sat up. "Auntie Celestia?"

"She ran a paternity test on Harry." Shining Armor laid an open folder on the bed showing Harry's picture over Shining Armor's. Shining Armor's was listed under "Postive Father."

Cadance studied the picture. There where many similarities between the two colts. Their posture, their muzzles, their smiles. "He has your smile." Cadance giggled.

"And my mane style as a human." Shining armor smiled.

"How so?" Cadance asked.

"My human family had a "Messy Mane Curse." Every male was born with untamable manes." Shining explained. "So was mine. So was Harry's."

"What was Princess Lilliana like?" Cadance asked.

"Oh she was so pretty." Shining Armor sighed. He loved Cadance with all his heart, but so he did Lilliana too. "Fiery red mane, emerald green eyes, rose tinted skin. And she was so kind. And generous and she loved Harry to death."

"You are so loved my precious little foal." Lilliana said to Harry who tilted his human head. "Mummy loves you, Daddy loves you, I'm sure Grammy would love you and spoil you rotten if I could find a way home." Harry suddenly turned into his baby alicorn form and waved his front hooves up at mommy. Laughing.

"Want a magic rocket ride?" Lillana giggled. "Okay one more, then its bed time." Her hoorn glowed and Harry was flying in the air.

She never knew that James was watching her. She didn't know at this point that James was actually a Royal Guard turned human. His pearly white tinted skin glistening in the hallway lighting.

Shining Armor sighed. "Where's Daddy?"

He heard a gasp and a magical ding. He looked inside. Lilliana was human again as was Harry who was blinking sleepily.

"Lily," Shining Armor began. "I haven't been completely honest with you about something..."

That night, was the first night the family spent the night as who they really where, Shining Armor, Princess Lilliana, and their foal.

"We should tell him." Cadance said to Shining Armor. "He deserves to know."

"I will...tonight." Shining Armor said. "I love you Cadance."

"I love you too my big strong Papa Stallion." Cadance teased Shining by rubbing his tummy.

The two rested after a long night of patrolling (taking a trot) around the castle.
