Chapter 0: Intro

Location: [Planet Name Unknown], Equestria, Ponyville

Time: Mid-Day

Narrator: Of all legends among those written in the Book of Equestrian Mythology, the one that sparks the greatest fear among the pony population is the legend of "The Harbinger". Nopony knows what it was or what its motives for coming were. But in the brief period of its Arrival, millions of ponies vanished without trace while hundreds of thousand ponies died while trying to stop it. The most curious fact about-

The narrator is suddenly interrupted by a loud tomboyish voice belonging to a creature known as Equus ferus caballus, or more commonly as a pony. The most curious fact of this pony aside from the fact that it talks, were its cyan colored fur, rainbow colored mane and tail, and feathery wings on it's back. That's right you guessed it, the voice belongs to the fastest, the coolest, the most loudmouthed pegasus in all of Equestria…

Rainbow Pony: Hey! What's that supposed to mean?

Narrator: Rainbow Dash, who are you talking to?

The raibow pegasus just groaned in frustration and turned its attention back to the narrator.

Rainbow Dash: Come on Twilight you don't seriously believe in that "Hairy-bin-jerk" mumbo-jumbo, do you?

The narrator, a lavender pony with a dark purple mane and tail that has a pink stripe running through them. The pony also has a Cutie Mark of a pink and white star with smaller stars around it, yet compared to her winged friend this pony had a horn on her forehead instead of wings. The narrator now known as Twilight or her full name Twilight Sparkle just sighed and then looked up with a slightly angry expression on her face.

Twilight Sparkle: Rainbow Dash, everypony said the same thing about Nightmare Moon and in the end it all ended up being the truth! You can't just dismiss something because it sounds too unbelievable! What will happen if this is all true?

The Pegasus was surprised at her friend's sudden outburst raises her hooves defensively.

Rainbow Dash: Woah there Twi, I didn't mean anything by that, it's just I can't imagine anypony so evil that he kills that many ponies.

Twilight now has a sad and worried expression on her face and motioned her friend to come and look at the book.

Twilight: "The Harbinger" didn't kill all those ponies, it was mostly friendly fire, but, I don't understand, why they would kill eachother?

Rainbow Dash was shocked at the sudden revelation and took a look at the book. There stood a painted image of what looked like a pony, yet it was very different at the same time. The pony had a sickly brown coat which was laced with glowing cracks that emanated fire. The head was shaped like that of a stallion yet it lacked a mouth and instead of the normal colorful eyes of a pony it had four blank glowing eyes. It also lacked a mane and tail, the former being replaced by a strange carapace extending towards the back. And what intrigued the Pegasus the most were the four insect wings on its back.

Rainbow Dash: Where on Equestria did you get a book like this?

Twilight: Princess Celestia. She said she found two copies of this book in a part of the library that was hidden for many yea-

The lavender unicorn is interrupted by a large explosion outside and the panicked screams of many ponies.

Rainbow Dash: What the hay was that?

Twilight: I don't know, let's find out.

The duo then raced outside, wait, were they on the inside?

Location: [Planet Name Unknown], Equestria, Canterlot

Time: Mid-Day

Princess Celestia, a large white winged unicorn or Alicorn with a mane of various colors ranging from turquoise to pink that swayed in an ethereal wind, and a Cutie Mark of a sun, was sitting on her bed conveniently reading a copy of "The Book of Equestrian Mythology" while sipping some tea. The door to her room suddenly opens causing the princess to squirt the tea through her nose in surprise. Through the door came an armored white stallion (White Stallion #5785 to be exact) with a golden armor and a toothbrush helmet similar to those worn by the Roman soldiers. The stallion came in with a scroll and a serious expression, yet upon seeing the Princess holding her nose in pain with what seemed to be tea dripping from it, he couldn't help but be both amused and concerned.

#5785: Princess Celestia, are you feeling well?

Celestia: *she waved a hoof at him* Yes, yes I'm fine.

The alicorn then levitated a towel with her horn and wiped the tea from her nose.

Celestia: What seems to be the problem #5785?

The stallion was confused at his sudden nickname, yet he didn't show it. He just pulled out a scroll and handed it to the princess.

Celestia: What is this?

#5785: A letter, the sender is unknown, yet it said that it was for your and Princess Luna's eyes only. Our scientists have checked for any traps and there seem to be none. Please, Princess, be careful.

Celestia: I will be fine #5785, please call my sister.

#5785: Yes, ma'am.

The stallion the exited the room and closed it behind him. A few minutes later the door opened again revealing another alicorn, although this one was a dark blue one with a cobalt blue mane that sparkled like the night sky. Unlike her sister she had a Cutie Mark of a moon on a dark background. The said alicorn was the co-ruler of Equestria and little sister of Celestia, Princess Luna.

Luna: What seems to be the problem Tia? #5785 seemed in quite a hurry to find me.

Now it was Celestia's turn to be confused.

Celestia: Who's #5785… uhhh, nevermind. I called you here because somepony sent a message to us, he said it was for our eyes only.

Now Luna was a little worried.

Luna: Are you sure this is ok? This may be a trap.

The sun princess gave her little sister a comforting nuzzle.

Celestia: Don't worry LuLu I'm sure it will all be fine.

Luna smiled and they both proceeded to open the scroll. It was just an almost blank page, the only content on it being a flaming hoof-print with some text at the bottom reading.

Luna: Prepare for the Arrival? What does that mea-

A loud explosion is heard in the castle causing the entire building to shake. The two sisters having shaken off the initial shock then proceed to exit the room galloping towards the throne room. On their way there they are stopped by a frantic #5785.

#5785: Princesses…the Chamber…explosion…empty.

The white alicorn places a hoof on the guardspony's shouler.

Celestia: Calm down my little pony, tell me, what happened?

#5785: The explosion originated from "The Chamber" (dun-dun-dun), several of the soldiers guarding the door have received various injuries, no casualties so far. But when the back-up team arrived…

The tension in the air was so dense it could give Monkey D. Luffy's stupidity a run for bits.

#5785: The Chamber… it was empty.

The two princesses were shocked, Celestia slightly less.

Luna: What do you mean empty? Whatever was in that chamber couldn't have just vanished.

Celestia: #5785, notify all the guards. Order them to place teams at the entrance of the city. Whatever was in there must never leave the city.

#5785: Yes, ma'am.

The sun princess then turns to her sister with a serious expression.

Celestia: Let us pray this does not start another disaster.

Codex: Ponies

Equus ferus caballus or pony is a species of the Equidae family, characteristic to Earth yet sighted on various other uncharted worlds. A herbivore species known for their immense physical strength and agility yet smaller stature compared to larger breeds of horses, ponies find most use in human settlements as either a form of transportation, entertainment and even forms of medical use called Hippotherapy. While common ponies are considered to have a basic intellect similar to most animals, some travelers have stated sightings of ponies with higher levels of intellect that are capable of speech. Although the sightings are too scarce to confirm, the surprising level of evolution has piqued the interest of many human individuals. And not only humans…
