Chapter 4: Brainstorm
"Well, you're in my house, in the library section of it. Full of books and wonders, where else could you be?" Twilight giggled.
Naruto scratched his head with his hoof, and then realized once more he was using his hoof, and not his hand. It made him nervous. Also, the answer to his question didn't completely fulfill it.
"Actually, that's not what I meant; um… what was your name?" Naruto asked. Twilight gave a big smile.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Twilight Sparkle, pleased to meet you!" Twilight then put a hoof on the lizard's head, and he only grumbled. "This is Spike, a baby dragon, whom is also an assistant of sorts." Spike only waved her hoof off.
"Hey, I'm not just some assistant, I'm just a handsome baby dragon who gets all the ladies!"
…There was a brief silence as Naruto just sweat-dropped from Spike's comment. Naruto merely shook his head and tried to break the silence.
"I'm, um, Naruto. Naruto Uzumaki. A pleasure, I think?" He said, a little nervously. What a weird name he thought. Spike being a normal name, but such a long name called Twilight Sparkle? Was it her full single name, or with a first and last name combined? He didn't know. Twilight tilted her head in confusion.
"Nah…roo toh?" Twilight repeated the name. "That… is a rather strange name. Forgive me, but I've never heard such a pronunciation before…"
"Yeah… I guess everyone finds my name a bit strange…" He never understood why his name was strange to everyone he's met, or maybe she just thought the pronunciation was weird. He just shrugged. "But it's my name, so…"
"Oh, of course! Please, don't take it the wrong way…"
"No, no problem…"
Another brief silence occurred, for at least a few seconds, until Spike spoke up and tugged on Twilight's mane.
"Why are you so quiet all of a sudden Twilight? It's not like you?" Spike said.
"I'm just trying to think Spike, it's not often we have an unfamiliar guest in the house…" Twilight told Spike.
"Um…"
Naruto tried to speak up. He still had several questions to ask Twilight after all.
"Yes, um… Naruto, right?"
"Yeah, it's Naruto… Um, just, exactly, 'where' are we? I know this is your house, but what country is this? What city is this? I just don't know where I am, and I was hoping you could answer these questions of mine…"
The look on Twilight's face became one of confusion, and chuckles.
"Come Naruto, let's head to the living area. I'm sure we can answer your questions there, if you wish. I actually have a few questions myself, if you don't mind."
Naruto couldn't disagree with that. He didn't know where he was, and he didn't know how he got here. It was a good opportunity. As he followed Twilight, he couldn't help but trip over his feet once more, still trying to get use to this new body of his. Twilight raised a brow as she turned her head.
"Are you okay?"
"Er, I think so… It's really hard to walk on these legs, it takes some practice?"
Twilight blinked a few times at Naruto's strange answer.

In the living area, Naruto was sitting down comfortably on a two-seated couch, with a brown wooden coffee table right in front of him, while Twilight and Spike were sitting across from him on the opposite side, on another two-seater couch. Spike was just laying around, while Twilight was sipping some tea from her cup, feeling relaxed and tranquil. She looked like a sophisticated horse to Naruto's eyes. She put her cup down and put her two hoofs together.
"So then! What do you need to know, Naruto?"
This was a better time than any, he had so many questions to ask her, and yet he didn't know where to start first. One thing he absolutely needed to know, besides knowing where he was, is what he was.
"Well, first… What am I, and what are you, exactly?"
If anything when it came to Naruto's questions, the first one was a doozy. Twilight squinted her eyes as her jaw dropped slightly.
"…You're kidding, right?"
"No, I'm not… My questions are probably going to get a lot weirder as we go along, heh heh…" Naruto said with a chuckle. He didn't know why he thought that was funny, but he needed to laugh at something. He had to be dreaming all of this, he just had to be.
Twilight rubbed her chin, and just shrugged it off.
"Well, you're an earth pony, a pony that is in tune with nature." Twilight then points at herself. "I'm a Unicorn pony…" She then points at her horn. "You at least know what a unicorn is, right?"
Naruto nodded. Indeed, he has heard of a unicorn before, at least in fairytale books when he was younger… or at least, when he hasn't had any rocks thrown at him from the angry villagers. Those were dark times for Naruto, very dark times.
"I've heard… what unicorns are, but I never thought I'd actually get to meet one." Twilight gasped at Naruto's comment.
"You've never met a Unicorn before?" Naruto shakes his head at Twilights question.
"You… you make it sound like you were just born yesterday…"
"I might have… I don't know where I am, I didn't know what I am, and I certainly know I wasn't here with hoofs before… I had fingers, and feet, similar to what that lizard-dragon thingy has." He said, pointing at Spike. Spike's head sharply rose up, and pounds his chest.
"Hey buddy! I'm a dragon, don't confuse me with some lizard from the ground!"
"Geez, sorry… No need to be all offensive on that…" Naruto said with a smirk.
Twilight felt her head spin at Naruto's answers. This pony was confusing the heck out of her like no tomorrow. She leaned forward and put her hoof to Naruto's head, trying to see if it felt warm or not. It made Naruto flinch a bit in reaction. Twilight furrowed her brow, trying to feel anything out of the ordinary.
"Are you sure you're alright? You don't have a fever or anything?"
"No, I'm sure of it…" Naruto waved her hoof off of his forehead, but as he did, he just realized something. As his hoof felt his forehead, something was missing, something that he had for ages. All he could feel was the fur and skin of his forehead though. Naruto looked from left to right and back to Twilight.
"Twilight, was I wearing a headband with a plate of metal on the front?" Naruto asked. Twilight then widened her eyes, as if her cat died.
"Yes! That's right! Your headband! Spike, you know where it is, don't you? Could you go grab it from my study?" She said as she nudged Spike with her hoof.
"Me? Why?"
"I need to talk to Naruto more. You're not doing anything else after all… are you?" Spike nodded.
"I'm relaxing on the couch, it's more important…"
"No it's not… go grab the headband, Spike."
Feeling defeated, Spike just sits up the couch and starts walking off to her study, mumbling how much of a slave driver she can be towards him. Twilight gave a forced cough as she gave a smile towards Naruto.
"Right then, as he gets it, let's talk more… You said before you don't know where you are, right? Well as you know, you're in my house. It's a big library of books, but it's also my home. I love to read, so it's only natural I have a lot on the bookshelves here." She says as she stretches her arms out, as if she's showing off her collection. But then puts her hoofs under her chin. "Right now, you're in Ponyville, in the land of Equestria. Princess Celestia rules over this land, along with her sister, Princess Luna. It's the land of ponies and other unique creatures… Griffons, Dogs, Dragons, there's quite a variety in this land. Any other questions, Naruto?"
Naruto couldn't help but leave his jaw open as she explained what she just said. One more question he wanted to ask Twilight, is if he was high on drugs, because there was no way he could believe every single detail she just said.
It's like being in a very weird children's dream, a dream you could never wake up from. Twilight frowned as he saw that Naruto didn't understand. She gets up from her couch and rocks her head forward towards the window.
"Maybe a visual aid is in order. Come here, and look out this window."
Naruto got up from the couch and followed her to a glass pane window. She opened the doors of her window, feeling a cool breeze come forth as it entered the room, making Naruto shiver slightly from the cold touch. Twilight gave him a look of curiosity and jerked her head towards the window, signaling him to look out there. With Naruto giving a big gulp, he looked out the window. The view that he was given made him fall on his ass. He closed his eyes as he shook his head, trying to believe what he just saw. He gets up once more; ready to see more shocking traits of the world he was in.
Outside, from what it looked like as an afternoon day, he could see people… No, he could see horses all around, or ponies, as Twilight called them, going about their everyday lives. He could see a pony purchasing goods from a stand, he could see two ponies laughing and giggling together. There was even one who was super hyperactive, like eating a container of sugar, and going on about how she loves parties. The pony looked pink and had a hair full of pink, what else could he think?
Naruto slowly backed away from the window, while shaking his eyes with his eyes closed, trying to wake up from the dream world he just saw. But no, it was all real, and he was stuck in it. Forever in this world of unknown that he had to live in. Everything he worked for in his original world, everything he met… It was all nothing… But wait, that reminded him.
"How did I even get here to begin with…" Twilight raised a brow at his sudden question.
"You don't know? Me and Spike found you near the Everfree Forest."
"Everfree Forest?"
"You don't know what it is?"
Naruto shook his head.
"The Everfree Forest is a dangerous place to be in, full of hostile creatures and killers of the dark. Nopony ever goes there unless it was for a good and specific reason… We and Spike found you there by chance when a big purple explosion took place. It was weird."
Strange, what would he be doing there? He held his head as he got a headache from hearing all of this information. It was too much to believe to begin with, and he needed time to think.
"Twilight Sparkle, can I have a moment alone, I need to think all of this through… All this, is… it's unbelievable. "Twilight gives a nod towards Naruto's request.
"Sure Naruto, I'm sure all of this is unbelievable to you… In fact, your reactions are making this unbelievable to me. But… Go ahead and think on it." She then turns towards the way to the upper floor. "Grrr… Where is that Spike and that headband? He's always delaying things I tell him to do… I'll be right back Naruto." Naruto gives a nod as he looks towards the window once more.

Equestria, ponies, unicorns, Ponyville… It was still all strange to him, and he was living in it. He tried to think back to the last thing he could remember, before waking up in this strange new place. He tried to think back when he was in Konoha. He starts to recall back when he met that Yajirobi person, getting to know him, knowing about Alchemy, taking that vitamin potion, and then… remembering he coughed up blood, and how he was in pain… Could it be that he died, and somehow appeared here instead? No, wait…
It was fuzzy, but he could recall another memory. He remembered a black robed person, going on about how he was dead, giving him a new life… and something about marriage between a caveman and a horse. When he thought about that, he gave a chuckle… for all the wrong reasons. But getting back to his memories in hand… It seems he was given a second chance in life… just not in the life he thought he would be in. He banged his hoofs on the window sill, anger filling in his body.
If he was going to be given a second chance in life, he should've been in his own world, not this world full of magic and ponies. Was this that black robed guy's way of a joke? Or was there another reason for it, and yet so many questions and so little answers, Naruto thought. As he started thinking about it more, the sun slowly started to go down, getting darker as every minute passed by.
How long had he been staring out there, thinking? It must've been a couple of hours, he thought. Putting his hoofs back on the ground and giving a big stretch, as if he were a cat, he cracked his neck from left and right, feeling it stiff. He turned around and saw Twilight behind him. She gave a wave towards him.
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Yeah… I'm… fine, I think. Thinking about things helped me clear my mind a bit more, I think." Twilight gave a nod towards Naruto's answer. As she did, Naruto saw a familiar black piece of cloth in Twilight's hoof. Naruto blinked a couple times as he stared at it.
"Is that my…"
"It is. Spike was sleeping on the job while looking for your headband. That baby still tries to shirk his responsibilities, I swear…" Twilight said, as she rolled her eyes.
She uses her horn and focuses her magic onto the headband, floating it into the air and landing it in front of Naruto. He stares at it for a moment, seeing the familiar black strap and metal plate, with the indication of the Village Hidden in the Leaves embedded in the middle. He couldn't help but weakly smile at it, knowing he wouldn't see his home again, stuck in this world. He couldn't repeat these thoughts enough, since it really tore at him. But regardless, it was a part of him, a part that he wouldn't want to give up.
Reaching out his hoof, he tried to grab the headband, only to realize he didn't have any opposable thumbs. He furrowed his brow as he tried to use two of his hoofs to pick it up… only to fall flat on his face when he didn't have any frontal support. He rubbed his nose in pain as he started to get irritated at this cursed body he had.
Twilight only stared at him in disbelief. It really did look like he was born yesterday. Feeling sorry for the yellow earth pony, she focused her magic into her horn, and levitated the headband onto Naruto's forehead. Still not being used to the sight of magic, he was still amazed at what it could do. She wrapped the headband around his head, and put it in a firm knot in the back. Naruto raised his eyes up to his forehead, seeing the object in place.
He felt more complete now, as this headband took him into many successful battles back in his own world. He took a deep breath and exhaled out, opening his eyes towards Twilight.
"Thank you, Twilight." Naruto said with a smile. Twilight merely smiled back.
"You're welcome Naruto… Oh, and please, call me Twilight. I don't mind, really."
"Well, feel free to keep calling me Naruto then, heh heh…" It only took a little chuckle for them to start laughing together, throughout the night.

Naruto didn't have anywhere to go, so Twilight suggested he would stay here for the night, and maybe perhaps give him a tour of Ponyville to help him soothe his nerves and worry, once the morning comes. Naruto didn't want to intrude, but Twilight insisted that he stayed, since she didn't want anypony to be left out in an unknown world without help. Naruto couldn't believe the hospitality she was giving him, since anyone else could've just tossed him out like the demon he was.
As Naruto started to go soundly asleep in the spare guest room Twilight had, she could see that he was sleeping soundly. For some reason, even though she thought the pony was confused and weird, he did seem kind of cute to her. Especially that cute tail of his and the whisker marks on his face. Oh by Celestia, what was she thinking? She merely shook her head as she retreated off to her own study.
In her study, she could see Spike in her study, organizing books and such, as he usually does. Twilight takes a glance at Spike, until she realizes something. She has yet to send a note to Princess Celestia. It was only fitting that she would, for maybe Celestia could help her with this odd situation.
"Spike, get a letter out. We need to let Princess Celestia know about this." Spike merely nodded at her and got out a scroll and ink pen, ready to write down what needed to be written down. Twilight took a deep breath as she said:
Dear Princess Celestia,
It has come to my attention that when it comes to helping someone in need, no matter how strange or confused they are, it is always right to help them out in their time of need, always going as far as making sure they are safe and comfortable. I have found a strange and odd pony near the Everfree Forest; who, didn't seem to know where he was, what he was, or, strangely, know how to walk. My first thought was Amnesia, but it is a strange case. I am hoping to hear from you soon about this matter.
Your Faithful Student,
Twilight Sparkle
As Spike finished the letter, he breathed his green and fiery flames towards the letter, sending it off to Princess Celestia. Meanwhile, Twilight looked towards the window, wondering.
"I hope she can be of help… She always has…"

In the castle, Celestia, a beautiful white Alicorn whom has a rainbow and majestic mane was lying near a fireplace, keeping warm and relaxing the night away. Then, she opened her eyes as she sees a scroll popping up right in front of her. She wonders why her student would send her a letter at this time of night. Using her magic horn to open the letter, she slowly reads it, raising a brow of confusion. A pony who; didn't know what, or where he was, and had trouble even walking? It was a strange case to her, and perhaps something to look into. But for now, she will wait until the morning, for that is what she decided in her mind.
