My Dear Pinkamina,

I leave for Canterlot tomorrow, and wanted to write this early, so that Derpy could pick it up before I leave. She still insists that she gets every letter to you, and I'm more than happy to believe she does. And if she doesn't, then I have still kept my promise, and gave our old friend something to do. Getting my thoughts and feelings down on paper helps me to remember you, and has greatly helped dealing with you not being here.

Sweetie Bell and Scootaloo came home from their honeymoon yesterday, just in time to meet their new filly. Her name is Evergreen, and she was one of the orphans from the Everfree Death, losing both of her parents. Fortunately she is only a year old, so she wont remember anything but her new parents growing up. Boy is that going to be an odd family, and I thought ours was pretty weird. I still remember having the "Why do't I hab wings daddy?" talk with Midnight. They are going to have to deal with a Unicorn and a Pegasus raising an Earth pony, and both being mares to boot. Wow, That's a Jerry Springer episode if I ever saw one. Bah, but then I never told you about that did I? Really weird show from my old world. Trust me, you were better off not knowing. They should be ok though, with a little guidance from uncle Drax. If our kids turned out ok, anyone can do it!

Little Pinkie came by to see me today, all by herself. I was so happy to see her. She was surprisingly serious for a change, not her usual hyper happy self. She said something about having a bad dream, but clammed up when I asked her about it. I hope nothing is bothering her. She seemed to cheer up when I brought her to see Fluttershy. She climbed up in the branches and spent and hour talking to her. I really wish Shy was able to play with her more. She really is good with kids. One day I will find a cure for that spell, and we will have our old lovable Shy back again.

Oh, and here's a juicy bit o gossip. I was right when I said Applebloom would be attracting attention. She has been seen around the farm with a colt, and they weren't bucking apples. Rumor has it, he's a hired hand from Appleoosa, brought on to tend the bumper crop that came in this year. She may be a master architect, but maybe its time she started building a family. I wish them the best of luck, because if he breaks her heart, AJ will break his spine.

Since Applejack retired last year, the farm is mostly run by her two sons, but this year they had to call in some extra help. I hear even AJ was seen working a few acres, for old times sake. Not that I believe she ever quit, mind you. She may be gettin on in years, but she can buck a tree with the best of them. She just has to make sure her doctor doesn't find out!

Well my dear, it's time to bring this letter to a close. I need to stop by the shop to get an extra muffin for postage, then get this to Derpy before I leave. Next time you hear from me, I will most likely be writing from Canterlot. It's been awhile since I visited, and it will be good to see the Princesses again. Especially, Luna, she was such a good friend all these years.
