When one fateful search through the Everfree Forest leads Rarity to a secret library inhabited by the spirit of an ancient alicorn princess, she realises that it may be time to start believing in fairy tales.

As an ancient alicorn trapped inside a library, Princess Twilight spent many a century dreaming of being rescued from her prison. Now, finding herself in an entirely new Equestria, she realizes she'd never planned for somepony to actually succeed...

When five foals asked Princess Twilight Sparkle to please try and paint the moon purple, she only agreed because she thought she couldn't do it. She wished she had been right.

Rarity liked the tale of The Four Princesses as a filly, even if she knew it wasn't real. Princesses fighting against a spirit of chaos? A library under a tree? Please. But then she grew up and found out some bedtimes stories were quite real.

Queen Rarity constantly rejected the advances of other noble ponies - after all, her bodyguard Twilight was already her secret special somepony. Unfortunately for them both, Sweetie Belle is intent on finding out who is her sister's secret crush

Rarity had always known she would have an arranged marriage—such was the life of a princess, after all. She just hadn't expected her wife to be a sphinx or that she would actively avoid her, and not just because she loves books.

After taking on some extra royal duties, Twilight makes it so that the only way her friends can see her is by getting a job interview with her. Rarity decides to do so in the most unprofessional way possible.

Twilight thought she'd had enough excitement for one day after meeting her human counterpart. Or so she thought until she was met with the uncanny feeling that Pinkie Pie was acting, well, a bit too equestrian.

It is Equestrian tradition that, when a pony is a certain age, they are given a timer that counts down the days until they meet their soulmate. Rarity was very excited the day she got hers. She just hadn't expected it would be counting up.

When Twilight gets stood up by her date, rather than let her friend go home with a broken heart, Rarity decides to take matters into her own hooves.

Rarity enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Drinking tea, fighting timberwolves, picnics with Fluttershy, meeting dragons and, most of all, spending time with an ancient alicorn spirit. She wouldn't give it up for anything in the world.

For Twilight, the increased lifespan that came with princesshood had forced her to outlive her friends, but thanks to Rarity, she will learn that centuries could be lived in but a single day.

There comes a time where every princess must chose her lifelong bodyguard. Princess Rarity finds the entire process dreadfully boring... At least until she notices a cute soldier who simply can't put her book down.

After a long day, Princess Rarity's bodyguard is ready for a quiet night keeping watch over the Princess. Or, it would have been a quiet night had the Princess not decided Twilight's sleeping arrangements were 'simply unacceptable'.
