Prologue

Quiet, as usual in Wilhelm's office.  The mysterious white haired CEO of Vector Industries had no need for food, water, nor any of the other luxuries of being human, so he could continue to observe the worlds connected to the U.M.N. to his heart's content.  The Compass of Chaos and Order continued to spin at a steady pace, signalling that things were still going along their set course.

But all of a sudden, it began to spin faster. It only lasted for a second, but then returned to its normal rotation.  Yes... just as he predicted.  Wilhelm couldn't help his smile as the compass continued to rotate as if that hadn't happened.

His assistant, Red Testament, appeared before him and walked over to his desk.  Though the design of his hood covered his face, Wilhelm could tell he was concerned.

"Sir, you felt that, didn't you?" the Red Testament asked.

"There was a sudden surge in the universe," Wilhelm said, "It appears that the universe's destiny has been shifted."

"This was because of her intervention, right?" Red Testament asked, already knowing the answer before Wilhelm nodded.

"It appears that Yeshua isn't the only one to oppose our decision," Wilhelm stated getting up and walking his window that looked out at space, "This complicates matters a bit.  The story won't progress the way it's supposed to."

"How do you want to proceed?"

"By now they'll have started to take measures to ensure that KOS-MOS is out of our reach.  How is plan B progressing?" Wilhelm asked turning to the Testament.

"Development is on schedule," Red Testament stated, "We should be able to proceed within a matter of weeks."

"Excellent," Wilhelm said returning to his window, "For now, let them do as they please.  I'm curious to see how this plays out."

"As you wish," with that the Red Testament turned around to leave.

"Tell Virgil to find the one chosen by U-DO," Wilhelm called out, "That way we can push him in the right direction."

"If we can't stop these events, push them along?  I see," Red Testament said, "I'll let him know."

When the Testament vanished, Wilhelm looked up at one star in particular and smiled, "Let's see how your gambit plays out Yeshua."

As it was nighttime, everyone on the Elsa was asleep.  Perfect time for this secret meeting.  He waited in the cargo hold of the Elsa for her to come back with the results.  He was willing to go to her, but she insisted on meeting him in his sector.

As he leaned against a steel pillar, he felt a familiar surge.  A few seconds later, the one he was waiting on walked behind him, stopping near him.

"It's good to see you again," the young man said to the newcomer.

"Yep yep, same here," she said cheerfully, "Hope I didn't keep you waiting."

"Not at all," he gave a grave sigh, "I'm assuming then that it's done?"

"Yep, unfortunately this means the Gnosis will take advantage," suddenly his companion looked down, and he could sense she was sad.

"Are you going to be okay?" he asked her, "Those are your friends after all, and it's their world that's going to suffer."

"The Gnosis are evolving though, right?  He has to get the sword, and this is the quickest way to get it to him," this time she sighed, "They were going to attack anyway.  All this does is make it happen faster.  I'll make sure he ends up close to you, so please..."

"I'll look after him, don't worry," he said with a smile, a gesture his guest returned.

"Thanks, chaos," she said.  chaos turned to her and hugged her, a gesture that made her cry actually.

"It's okay," chaos said, "I'm sure it'll all work out."

"But I am scared," she said, "What if they become-"

"They won't.  If what you told me about them is true, their hearts are too strong to end up like the other lost souls."

"I hope so," she said as she calmed down.  She decided to stay in his embrace for a while longer.  It wasn't easy keeping a happy face in these times.  It felt good to shed her tears for once.
