Chapter 3: Running on Suga......SUGAR!?

I see the fine white powder fall

Onto the dark brown canvas

For that is nothing more than

sugar

-Roberto Olmos Antonio Gonzalez Will Jr.

I peeled open my eye’s greedily as I felt the warmth of the new day. I looked around instinctively, but that I realized where I was. The sky had a beautiful blue tint with a line of orange cutting intrusively upon it while still keeping it’s mysterious glow. Clouds dotted the sky in all directions and in all different heights I turned back to the orange latitude, I rubbed my eye’s as I saw the orange line distort a bit. I shook it off and looked at the new day ahead of me. I looked back and saw the small town in the distance. It would be my next destination.

Since I was “new” here I could start my new life . I could work, and make friends. The last thought lingered for a bit causing it to resonated distractingly in my soul. Friends deep in my mind I knew two things. One, I would never exactly fit in, seeing how the ponies in the show reacted positively to almost everything thrown at them made me cringe a bit. Two that making friends with Rainbow Dash could only mean consequentially following from the others. Yet the thought that made my mind ache the most would be the fact that I would never find love mentally, although my body could betray me physically.

I fell through the folliage hitting the ground expertly with all four hooves making the sound of the rusting leaves beg for an encore. I stared at the surrounding trees it was just light enough to see pairs of animal eye’s look through bushes and from tree branches. They could tell that I wasn’t from around here but they had all started to slowly make their way across to me.

I got down on my haunches and reached out to one of them with my hoof. They recoiled instantaneously before hiding back into the shadows. I let out a loud sigh as I found myself doing it to a lot to animals, but it wasn’t their fault. As far as I knew I was the one to blame.

As I walked to the brightening forest I found myself greeted by more animals who had the same response. My stomach growled loudly all of a sudden causing me to flinch from the sharp pain that found itself eating me inside. I continued to walk in the direction that I saw the town. I began to see the denseness of the foliage evaporate and I could see the sky above which was all ready taking a much lighter blue compared to the ones from earlier.

I felt my hooves clop the hard rock beneath me somewhat surprisingly as I had just been trotting across the soft and silent grass. I looked onward to the modestly placed and rainbow colored buildings ahead. I saw that not many ponies were up and working, but those who were, but more specifically those who did not have a squared jaw were lifting their hooves at me giggling unashamedly at me. They were all blushing. Not again

I sat in the first row closest to my lecturing teacher. Sitting in the small room made me yearn for the greenness of the outside world . He was talking about the “real” history of the founding father, Graiden. I felt my self cringe and twitch at the mention of his name. Yet I wasn’t concentrated on that. I found my attention to the sounds coming from behind me giggling. It got so bothersome that I looked back with an overly warm smile, to keep from signalling my agitation. The moment my eye’s fell on one of the girls behind me they looked away not bothering to cover their deepening faces.

My mouth began to water unintentionally snapping me back from my flashback. Aside from the oddly colored blushes of these ponies. Another thing was bothering me hunger. The smell was delicious as my mouth felt like it was dropping waterfalls of saliva.

I followed the scent coming to the pink building that had cunfuzzled me before. This “Bakery” was billowing the scent before me. Yet there was something more important inside, Pinkie Pie.

I opened the door to the bakery which had a “Help wanted sign” on the front As I pushed through the door I was met by the happy figure of Mrs.Cake

“Well I haven’t seen you around these parts” She gave me a small smile, I tried not to answer her but instead looked at colorful goods assorted on the table. My mouth was watering more than before. I began to clear my mind and instead looked at the humble shop. The entire house was two floors from what I could see. On this floor was a kitchen but the floor above sat apologetically as an unfinished balcony that seemed to fit the goofiness of this world.

My eye’s moved back to the blue pony,

“I was kind of wondering,,,,,,If I could work here?” My voice was rather quite. I tried to make it a way to dismiss my original behavior.

Her eye’s brightened up and she took out a bit of paper and a small pencil ( a yellow that seemed oddly glossy compared to the ones back there).

“Of course but I need to know your name first” She brought the paper down down to the paper with her mouth.

“It’s Angelo Ma’am” I said a little louder getting a little more comfortable with her bright speech. She wrote her slowly red mane bouncing oddly from right to left.

She dropped the pen and moved over to a wooden and cylindrical object that sat modestly on one of the table and sat on her haunches.

I was about to ask what she was doing when a sudden rumbling came from the floor above. At first I thought it was some sort of bad thing but suddenly a pink blur erupted from the door. It tumbled down the steps and now found itself giggling incessantly. It was Pinkie

She gave a drew in a large breath before disappearing back into what I could suppose to be her room. She came back just as fast as before but this time she came back with something on her back, a string swaying pointlessly to one side. The question was forming on my lips but suddenly she burst out in song.

Welcome, welcome, welcome, I fine welcome to you.

Welcome, welcome, welcome, I say how do you do

Welcome, welcome, welcome, I say hip hip hooray!

Welcome, welcome, welcome, to Ponyville today!

She pulled the string that hung off the contraption causing multicolored pieces
of paper like material to erupt from it with a loud snap. Honestly I could say that I was at least startled, yet that didn’t stop the smile that she purposely caused.

“Well I haven’t seen you around here, what’s your name!” She was positively gleaming with positive energy.

I couldn't really say anything whether it was my nervousness or the pure shock of the moment was beyond me. Something grew in my stomach and If had felt this feeling so much before the moment you talk to somebody new. My mind lingered on the last thought somebody well I guess if I am in a new world I could get used to using somepony.

“Hello?” She had gotten really close. She raised up a hoof and brought it to the side of my head, It clopped loudly.

“Guess not.” She backed up her mane deflating a bit.

“Who’s there?” I felt my body go on by itself. I was still tense but I felt my body starting to loose a few notches. She smiled immediately her mane inflating dramatically as she fell back laughing.

“Guess not.” I said making a fake frown, as I tried to pass the joke across. She got up using her hoof to wipe the tears from her pink eye’s.

“Well you gonna start working? Or will I have to wait till one of you starts blowing up.” Mrs. Cake finishing the moment quite seriously. In my mind I could see her thinking Not another one.

We were working in the kitchen. Well at least she was and I was washing the piles of dirty oven pans that were strewn about. She turned on a rather noisy “Egg Beater”, then turned to a “Blender” and pressed a hoof against a big red button that was on the base of it.

“Well I never got your name, My name is Pinkie Pie by the way!” She was practically yelling halfway across the room where the sink sat.

“Angelo!” I yelled to her. As I used the cloth to rub pieces of “Pastries” that were stuck to them. The job wasn’t to demanding, If anything it just was just time consuming.

“How do you like it here, I saw you yesterday but I really didn’t get the chance to meet you!” She was now pouring heaping loads of a white powder into a “Bowl.”

“Haven’t really done much but I’ll do something eventually!” I brought up the plate carefully making sure that I could balance it in my almost gripless hooves.

“What’s up with your eye’s!?” She turned off the machines when she finished the sentence. The room was now filled with awkwardness that emanated from me. After a long pause I answered.

“What’s wrong with them?” There was a slight crack in the sentence. It made me jump a bit and considering all the horrors I’d seen I questioned my body’s purpose for doing so.

“Well nothing really, they just remind me of the friend that was chasing you yesterday. I took a moment to contemplate that. So their colored.............. like ….......a …...Rainbow? I turned wanting to be face-to-face by for the explanation.

“Nothin’ I was just born that......” My mouth was suddenly full of something so familiar that brought horror to me, sugar. Her entire hoof had shot into my mouth making me unable to breathe or back up as I found myself pinned to the sink. I’m not sure how she materialized in front of me but I was scared. I started to chew on the thing. Having to swallow it so she could remove her hoof.

She removed her hoof from my mouth.

“Good, Huh!” She was giggling. My eye’s were tearing As I remembered what would happen next. The taste of the sweetness only killed me in the inside and I slowly felt my consciousness.......going.

I managed to groan out a No. The world seemed to throw-up rainbow goop on my eye sight.

going.........................

I stared at Indigo as he sat from behind the kitchen sink. He was smiling brightly as he popped a small sparkly cube in his mouth. I looked down to my red sweater, the timer not yet set.

“What are those supposed to be?” I didn’t really want to ask the question but he really looked like he was enjoying himself. He held out his hand bringing a single cube to me. He reached over various bottles of chemicals.

“Just made them” His smile only seemed to grow, his eye’s beaming a light that I suspected could only be brought by him.

He hung there for a second.

“Fine well I guess you don’t want It” He pulled the cube back swiftly popping it into his mouth. His moaned ecstatically as his eye’s rolled back.

“Fine Bro.” I sighed out. He threw one of them to me and caught it in my mouth.

My mouth was watering from the initial taste. It was so sweet my cheeks began to hurt. I wanted another but something didn’t feel right.

He frowned

“Bro” he began but I felt my eye sight fading and I was terrified.
The world slowly turned to a colorful goop.
