Hi! Wow, it really does write down everything I say! Oh man, this is beyond cool! I wonder if Shadow has one of these? Anyway, uh... Hi! I just got you from Luna! She visited us tonight, which is nice because it's just me and Shadow-
Oh! You haven't met Shadow yet!
[Shuffling noises, along with the sound of hooves hiting stone]
Shade, what are you-
Oh wait!
[More shuffling noises, and the same trotting sound as before at a more hurried pace]
I completely forgot! Luna says I'm supposed to keep you a secret- and you wrote all that down? Wow you are really neat!
Okay, since I have to do the introductions, let's start with Shadow! Nightshadow is my brother, and he's fun, even if he is too serious most of the time. Oh, speaking of which-
Shade, why are you talking to yourself?
No reason!
Riiiight... I'll be outside if you need me.
Okay! I'll join you! Just give a moment to finish some things in here...

Wow. I didn't close you all the way and you wrote all that down! Neat! I have a whole book that remembers what somepony says to me! I forget sometimes unless it's something really neat! Like this one idea Rainbow Dash had- wait a moment! What's that thing I'm doing that Shadow keeps telling me to stop? Oh yeah, I'm going off track!
So Luna visited us tonight, checking up on us to make sure we were doing okay and if we were "adjusting" well. I don't remember very much from before, so it's kind of easy for me to get used to Ponyville, but Shadow's so jumpy! It can be kinda funny as long as he doesn't get too mad! Argh, I'm doing it again, aren't I?
Right, so Luna wanted to talk with me alone for a second. She asked me if I was doing alright, and I really have been, except... Well...
I don't like hiding who I am!
Who cares if I can fly and do magic? I'm just a normal pony... Right? Anyway, I told her it felt stupid that the only ponies who could ever see my wings were Macintosh and Rainbow. Well, Fluttershy can too, but she's so scared of me, that I barely see her!
Anyway, she told me she understood. She said a lot of things, I can't remember everything she said but I know they made me feel better, and then she gave me you! She said that I could tell you whatever I want, and there'd be no consequences! She also said you should help me remember things, too, since I'm kind of having... problems with memory right now.
But she also said never to show you to anypony else, that in her opinion a fillys' diary should be a place where she can put whatever she wants without "the fear of being rediculed for it". She uses some really big words sometimes. It's not that I don't understand them, but what's the point in using a big word when you can just use a small word that means the same thing?
Wait, do books have eyes? Should I write down what everypony looks like? Oh gosh... uh Shadow's got a black color with red eyes and a really short blue mane, and I'm the same with a longer mane and green eyes... this feels stupid! Am I really talking to a book? Oh, who cares? At least it's fun! Kinda. I mean, not as fun as the time I put one of those fake snakes in Rarity's dresser...
Maybe I should talk about Ponyville? It's a really neat little town. It's alot bigger then the castle, even though it looked smaller from a distance. Me and Shadow live out in a Castle inside the 'Everfree' forest. Turns out there's another out here too, even though Shadow told me not to look for it. Shadow says we've been here for a while, even though we just moved into the castle a few days ago.
Pinkie Pie and Rainbow are hilarious, Twilight is really smart (I think she likes Shadow. Don't tell him though!), Applejack is... okay. As long as you don't lie to her. I never lie to her though, except for the whole 'wings' thing, so it's okay. Rarity... I don't think I like her very much. She's funny when she's mad, though! Macintosh, Applejacks brother, is really nice. I like Fluttershy, but every time I try to talk to her, she runs away! And when she can't run away, she just stares at me like I'm gonna eat her! She's really weird.
Shadow's going to start worrying about where I am, so I guess I better stop for now! Goodbye... Diary? I guess you're just Diary!

First entry (Shade talks about friends, goes off track at random)
Good morning Diary!
I decided I'm not eating breakfast today so I can spend some time telling you... Stuff! Like... I don't know, what do you wanna hear about? Hello? Oh right, books can't talk back! Let me think. Hmm... Maybe I could tell you about Rainbow? Yeah, that's it!
Rainbow is a really nice Pegasus, and one of my dear friends! Sorta. Anyhoof, she can be a jerk sometimes, but she has some really funny ideas! Remember what I told you last night? The snake in Rarity's dresser? Her idea. I know, genius! I mean, it's been done before, but that doesn't make it any less fun!
She does kinda get in a lot of... Trouble, I think is the word. Like this one time, she asked me to "help Twilight come out of her shell" or something, I can't remember all she said, but I went along with it...
...
"Hey, Nightshade?" I looked up from my book at Twilight, who was squinting, like somepony was shining a light in her face.
"Do you think can turn that off?" She said, pointing to my brightly glowing horn.
"Oh! Sorry Twi!" Still getting the hang of magic.
Anyhoof, she was about to get back to... Whatever it was she was doing when somepony knocked on the door. Spike was taking the day off. I think he was at... Rarity's? So she gets the door and Shadow was standing there. He seemed kind of mad.
"Hey Twi, have you seen my sister around?"
"Yes she's here- and what happened to you?" She gets loud when she's worried. Anyway, Shadow was covered in pink dots, I don't remember why, though...
"Nightshade happened." Oh! That's right! That was funny too!
So Rainbow's plan was working, and I remembered what to do next. I used the invisibility spell Shadow taught me (AWESOME bye the way) and snuck up behind Twilight...
I saw Rainbow, calmly walking down the street...
I got ready. Rainbow flew really fast to push Shadow like she said she would, and I pushed Twilight like I was supposed to and then she...
...flew into a bookcase.
Well, through it really, and more then one.
How was I supposed to know we were supposed to push them together? Dash just told me to push! She didn't say how hard I was supposed to push her either! Anyway, Shadow bumped into me and got... really angry. And then I ran. Me and Dash did, actually. It's a good thing Twi wasn't hurt! Shadow would've skinned me alive and baked me into a delicious cake...(maybe I shouldn't have skipped breakfast?)
I think Shadow forgot it happened, though. He didn't really chase us, he was too busy helping Twi up, and when we were talking about it later, he just said not to bring it up. Huh.
...
Right, since we've already talked about Dash, let's talk about my other friends!
Pinkie Pie seems to really like me, even though I left her welcoming party (Still can't remember that. Oh well.). We ended up getting surprised with another! I love her parties, even though Shadow doesn't really, I don't know why he doesn't though. The music is supposed to be loud! She doesn't get mad at me when I play a trick on her like everypony else does. Sometimes, she even helps me play a prank on somepony else! She's really fast too! I wonder if she can tell me how she gets around so fast? I'll have to ask her later.
Then there's Macintosh. Mac is a nice pony, but his sister doesn't seem to really like me. She says she gets this feeling when I'm around, like I'm lying about something.
I've never lied to her! She's weird, but Mac is a nice pony. Sometimes, when I'm bored, I help him with the apples (he's an apple farmer, like his sister). He says it helps him get done with a days work faster, so I help when I've got nothing better to do. It's really easy since I can just use my magic to pull them down, and he even gives me a few apples when we're done to pay me for it (they're sooooo good).
There is one thing though. Every once in a while, when he thinks I'm not looking he stares at me weird. I don't really know what to think about that. He and Shadow usually get along, but one time, when they didn't know I was there, Shadow got really angry and I think he said something like: "If you hurt her in any way, I don't care how 'Big' you are, I will snap you in half. Are we clear?"
Sometimes I think Shadow's the crazy one. What would Macintosh ever do to me?
I think Shadow wanted me to go with him to pick up a book, so I have to go now. Maybe we can fly there today instead of just teleporting?
