MLP KRiE: Jumpstart
Chapter 2: Chapter 1: going forth
Previous Chapter Next ChapterI hate reruns.
…Specifically the reruns where you even know the script without even looking at it.
I glanced over to my brother, who was lazily watching the TV,
“SG1? Again? Hell…three fries short of a happy meal WACKO!” I said the final part in perfect syncopation with the TV show.
As I put on the duffle coat I had, I stepped outside.
The night was perfect… so perfect I lost myself to the breeze.
I began to sing to myself the sons of skyrim.
The moon beamed down, almost as if it was smiling.
I took solace in that fact.
There was a peculiar constellation, one I hadn’t seen before that night.
It was, bizarrely, in the shape of an Alicorn. I shrugged it off and attributed it to lack of sleep. As I walked back in, I put the kettle on.
The click of the kettle reverberated through my ears. My attitude to life would change within a few seconds. Grabbing the mug I usually use, I made a cup of tea.
The relaxing aroma of the tea began to dance around my nostrils, sending me to a complacent and content mood.
Sitting down at the computer, I was greeted by the sight of a few hundred e-mails from facebook… all notifications of comments on statuses I could care less about.
I took a sip of tea, its steam rising up my nose.
As i laid back and watched a few episodes of MLP, I began to wonder what was in store for me. As the latest episode finished, i quickly loaded up the latest series of Kamen rider.
The series itself seemed to have a small similarity; the hero of the series wants to make friends with everybody.
Bizarrely, I didn’t think much of it at the time, but these two shows would have an adverse affect to what would happen next.
“Kevin, could you go get the chicken out of the deep freeze” my mum shouted from the living room. I huffed, got up and put a pair of boots on.
“Fine” I grunted as I walked out of the house.
I glanced upwards. The night sky shimmered with stars. Opening the door to the shed, I walked in, opened the lid to the deep freeze and grabbed the chicken.
An inter-dimensional portal opened up in the back garden as I reached the back door.
Out of the strange door walked 4 humans, “ah, Your 2 days early,” I sighed, “you’d best come inside and explain” two of them nodded.
“Aquilinus, sunnydays, you stay out here”
The two armor-clad men saluted as they took up positions.
“Oh who are these two?” my mother asked as we walked in the living room.
“This is the woman who healed my shoulder, and this is her student”
“Hello, Mrs Guyver” Celestia smiled.
“Has your son told you about me?” the princess asked.
My mum simply shook her head. “I didn’t say anything because they’d think I was crazy”
Celestia began an explanation.
“Well, to put it bluntly, we are from another world,” she glanced over at her student “a world which some humans know of”
“Equestria?” my mother asked.
“Precisely” the student grinned.
“When I healed your son, I felt great potential from him”
I scratched my head nervously. I’m not smart, I’m not athletic.
I’m just lazy.
The princess continued, “there are many great dangers to my homeland, but some of them we cannot combat alone,” she looked at her student once more with a small smile “we may have the elements of harmony… but we lack the one thing that can fully put a stop to some of the more powerful evils of our world”
“I suppose this is where my son comes in?”
“Yes it is, considering how you think that he might never amount to anything…”
“I’ve had about as much as I can take of this, the jokes over”
“I’m sorry?” celestia was taken aback my mums outburst.
Her student finally put in her two bits. “This is no joke, I can assure you.. These aren’t even our real forms”
“Twilight!” Celestia was about to chastise her student.
“Prove it to her” I chimed in. the magic keeping their forms hidden finally dissipated.
Standing in the room was an alabaster Alicorn, and small lavender unicorn.
My mum was visibly shocked. She finally looked at me. “Pack your things, and get going”
“You sure?”
“Yes”
An opportunity like this doesn’t come very often.
But when it does…
Take it!
I stood before the inter-dimensional gate, hesitant to step forth into the unknown.
My suitcases were packed, my UFC gloves were on.
I sighed for a moment. “Go on, we’ll be right behind you” Celestia gave me a warm smile.
I took a few steps forward.
See you on the other side…
