Rat is one of the youngest Diamond Dogs in her pack, along with her brothers Brunt and Scrap. While her brothers spend their time fighting the very earth for gems and tunnels, she spends her time learning how to properly entrance a mutt, like any girl should. Unlike the other fluff-heads in her 'class', she doesn't want to live a life down in the dirt. She wants to be just like the wrathful ponies she's told stories about, who live proud and prejudiced under their glowing sun.

Sky Scramble is a Pegasus with a little more greed than common sense, and has the uncanny ability to attract trouble. He's got a soft spot for the rolling dirt of Stonerise's lower reaches. Little does he know, setting hoof on these soils - and stealing the gemstones in them - is a crime punishable by slavery.
