Note to the reader:

This is my first ponyfic...actually this is my first fanfiction ever! There are more chapters on the way, so please continue reading. I hope you enjoy reading this story of young love as much as I enjoyed writing it.

The sweet summer air filled the nostrils of the small orange filly as she trotted happily down the dirt path. Scootaloo said the usual hellos to Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith, and, as usual, did not stop for a second word. Sweetie Belle had asked her to come to the Cutie Mark Crusaders' Clubhouse. Sweetie had not specified what she wanted Scootaloo to come there for, but nonetheless she continued on her short journey to the clubhouse.

"Walk straight down the main path, take a left at the dead tree, and then twenty paces to the left." Scootaloo repeated to herself. She always went over the directions to the clubhouse, it was her way of getting excited for the meeting, or sleep over, or whatever shenanigans that the Crusaders would pull off that day. As she got closer, she could make out Sweetie Belle's pastel colored mane in the distance.

Scootaloo walked closer to Sweetie Belle who was sitting patiently in front of the clubhouse that Applebloom's sister had given them as a "fixer-upper". Scootaloo's focus was not on the clubhouse, it was instead on Sweetie Belle. As Scootaloo got closer she could see that Sweetie's focus kept darting around, and it looked as if she was talking to herself.

Scootaloo paid no attention to her actions, and walked right up to Sweetie without hesitation.

"Hey Sweetie Belle. We gotta make it quick, I got somewhere to be! I'm definitely not missing that. So, what's up? Is this some Cutie Mark Crusaders business?" said Scootaloo in a sort of excited tone.

"Well, um, I just wanted to talk to you, about...stuff." said Sweetie as she looked down at the ground. Scootaloo gave Sweetie a puzzled look. "It's not really important, well I mean it is, but I don't mean to interrupt your plans, and, um."

"Just say it already Sweetie. I just said we have to make this quick." Scootaloo stared at Sweetie attempting to make her say what was on her mind. Sweetie Belle looked up from the ground as she turned her head to face Scootaloo.

The small white unicorn gazed deeply into the orange pegasus' purple eyes, and then shot her sight back to the ground between them. The silence in the air seemed to linger for hours on end. Each time Sweetie Belle tried to release her words, she was drawn back. She had never had to say something so meaningful before. She bit her bottom lip and darted her eyes back to meet Scootaloo's own. Sweetie opened her mouth expecting the right words to come out. Her eyes shut and she began forming the words on her tongue. However, what she thought were her true feelings merely left her mouth as a squeaky mumble.

"Come on Sweetie Belle! Spit it out! I don't have all day. Rainbow Dash is gonna let me watch her new trick today. Make it quick" said an impatient Scootaloo, who was extremely eager to see her idol's newest flying maneuvers. She began tapping her hoof as Sweetie Belle seemed to go into a little ball. Scootaloo gave her an irritated look.

"Well? Are you going to say anything or just sit there an-", Scootaloo was cut off by a now completely red-faced Sweetie Belle pressing her lips upon her own. Scootaloo was shocked at first; she had no idea how to respond. Her eyes widened with this surprise, but then, as if it was meant to be, she began to accept this kiss. Her eyes shut as she returned the kiss and deepened it.

Sweetie Belle felt Scootaloo's return and was taken back by it. Her eyes flew open as she retreated from their embrace. Her focus was now on the ground, her face more red than it had ever been before. Scootaloo gave her a sort of puzzled looked, but then smiled. She winked at the bright red unicorn and then trotted off to watch Rainbow perform her newest stunt.

Sweetie Belle watched the orange Pegasus trot off into the distance. Her color turning back to normal, she stood up on all four hooves. A single warm tear ran down her cheek as her blank expression turned to a heartwarming smile.

"If only you knew how much I truly love you Scootaloo." said Sweetie Belle as she turned to enter the Cutie Mark Crusaders' Club House, with her head held high.

Sweetie Belle rustled around under her covers as her sister, Rarity, tried to wake her up by shaking her with her two front hooves. Sweetie hesitated at first, but eventually opened her eyes and threw the covers off of her matted mane. She blinked with a tired expression and gazed around the room, until her eyes met with her sister's.

"Good heavens Sweetie! Your mane looks simply atrocious! Well we'll just fix this up and you are good to go. Now hurry up Sweetie, remember that you still have school, even if there is only a few days left. I have breakfast waiting for you downstairs." exclaimed a flustered Rarity as she used her magic to fix the filly's mane. Rarity left afterwards and went downstairs to prepare her own breakfast, after all a lady must start her morning with a proper meal.

Sweetie looked around the room once more, and then climbed out of her purple colored bed. She walked over to the window and opened it, and looked out upon all of the lively ponies in Ponyville. She saw Carrot Top trying to sell her carrots to what looked to be a couple of tourists, she saw Lyra and Bon-Bon having fun chasing each other in a field as if they were fillies again, and she saw Pinkie Pie being Pinkie as usual. Then she saw a young couple on a park bench nuzzling each others muzzles.

This sight took Sweetie back to the kiss she shared with Scootaloo. She could just relive it a thousand times in her head, the feeling of the two young fillies, in their warm embrace. She could almost feel her lips touching Scootaloo's once more. Sweetie had feared that Scootaloo would hate her for what she had done, but her fear was crushed when Scootaloo returned the passion.

Sweetie broke out of her daydream and continued to look around at all the sights of Ponyville. She stayed at her window for another five minutes before she began to move towards her mirror to fix her hair. She really did not like the way that Rarity used her magic to fix her mane. Sweetie would usually go to her mirror and brush it herself while thinking about what the day was going to be like.

Today was different; she could not get the same thoughts out of her head the whole morning. The kiss, Scootaloo, what would happen, and does Scootaloo actually like her? She finished brushing her mane and returned to the window. She laid her head down on the window sill and blew away a couple of dry leaves that had taken home there since the Fall.

Sweetie turned her gaze up to the sky and let out a sweet little sigh. She pulled her head in back from the window and began her walk downstairs. She took one look back at her bed, and then turned face again. That kiss was sweet, but it was too bad that it was merely a dream. A fantasy played out in the young filly's mind. Sweetie had wished it was true, but to her dismay, it was not so.

Sweetie walked down the steps and entered the kitchen. On the table was a plate of hay. Sweetie gave the plate a look of disgust and stuck her tongue out at the tan colored meal. Rarity noticed Sweetie's hatred for the breakfast that they would have to deal with.

"I know you don't like hay, but it is all we have today Sweetie. I forgot to get groceries last night because I was too busy with Sapphire's new outfit. You will have to either eat what we have or go hungry." explained Rarity

"I think I'm going to go hungry sis. You know how much I hate hay. Besides, I've got too much on my mind to eat right now." said Sweetie as she checked the refrigerator in hopes of finding some left-over food.

"Okay Sweetie, but do not complain to me when your stomach starts to hurt." said Rarity as she sat down to begin her meal, "Oh, and Sweetie, Scootaloo is waiting outside for you. She told me to tell you it is important. Dear me, I had almost forgotten all about that." she said before taking a bite of her hay.

Sweetie Belle jumped up in excitement at Rarity's statement. Scootaloo was waiting for her, and it was important! Maybe her dreams would come true, maybe this was the moment, but then reality kicked in. It was probably some Crusaders' business. She shouldn't have gotten her hopes up. Her excited expression drooped into a sad one.

Rarity noticed this and gave Sweetie a puzzled look. Sweetie gathered her belongings in a slow pace and headed outside to start her day and talk with Scootaloo. She gave a goodbye hug to her sister and began to walk out the door. Thoughts raced through her mind as to what Scootaloo really wanted.

Sweetie took only a couple of steps out the door before she noticed Scootaloo sitting a couple of feet from the front of the doorway, staring at the ground. Sweetie gave a small smile and then walked towards the orange filly. As Sweetie got closer she saw that Scootaloo was mouthing words and had a light shade of red in her face. Sweetie watched her in silence as she would speak a few words and then shake her head in disapproval. Sweetie watched her do this pattern before saying hello to Scootaloo.

"Hey there Scootaloo. How are you? My sister said you wanted to talk to me.", said Sweetie Belle. Scootaloo jumped at first, but then settled as she realized it was Sweetie's voice she was hearing. She tried to hide her red colored face and pretend as if none of what she did actually happened.

"Uhh, umm, hey there Sweetie Belle. Yeah I- I just wanted to talk to you about something…important." said Scootaloo as her vision drifted from Sweetie's face back to the ground. Sweetie gave a puzzled look before noticing how red Scootaloo's face was. Sweetie gave a small smile, but on the inside she was as excited as can be. Was Scootaloo going to say she shares Sweetie's feelings? Would this be the day where her dreams would come true? Sweetie could only hope.

"Well go ahead Scootaloo. What is it?" said Sweetie Belle as she tried to contain her excitement.

"It would probably be better, well, I mean I would rather do this in private…I can't have other ponies knowing…at least not yet", said Scootaloo as she looked up from the ground and met Sweetie's eyes in a deep gaze. Sweetie began to turn as red as one of Applejack's apples, while Scootaloo's face obtained an even brighter shade of red.

"Well, I…let's see. We can go to my room. How does that sound?" asked Sweetie, who was now trying to hide the fact that she was blushing. She could feel the warmth in her cheeks and the strain of trying not to give a huge grin. She walked into her sister's boutique with Scootaloo close behind. Whatever Scootaloo wanted, Sweetie was just happy to have time alone with her. Maybe now she could tell Scootaloo her true feelings; express her love.
