prologue

“wonderful. another day at work...” he sed putting on his work clothes in the locker room. when he was finished changing he went into the lab where he worked. he looked around at everything as he walked threw the lab, pig’s with wings, a rabbit with a flesh craving, oh a rock that can talk! he sighed, nothing was new that went on around here, but apparently he was needed in the back for testing a portal that could take one thing and place it somewhere else. oh wonderful! as he walked into the back he saw the large metal portal frame that looked like something from star-gate sg-1. he sat down in a chair and sighed. “so how close is it to being done?” he asked leaning on the desk. “well a few more adjustments and we can test it.” well that was good he guessed. he looked down at the clip-bored and reached for the pen that was in his pocket. “right then...... testing began at 4:30 in the afternoon. testing ends at a unknown time.” he put the pen on the desk and looked at the portal. this is going to be a huge bomb by the time were done with it. but hey at least we try’ed. after about ten minutes the other lab assistents started it up. it made a humming sound then around the inside of the metal frame it turned blue and expanded until it hit the middle then stopped. some of the other lab guys clapped and he just sat there looking at it. “nice work Dave!” someone patted him on the back. “ya. thanks.” Dave mumbled. he got up and pulled a apple out of a case and tossed it at the portal. it went threw without anything holding it back then he went to check to back of the portal. the apple wasint there and he sighed. “a success. the first in a while.” he turned to everyone and raised his hands. “good job everyone.” he walked back to the front. “now we need to find out where it go’s” he sighed and heard a zap. he turned quickly to see the frame of the portal sparking. “everyone back up!” Dave yelled back as he stood there. what was wrong? he could not move! this was bad. the portal started rumbling loudly and sparking more. “Dave! get out of there!” one of the scientist’s yelled from behind a desk. “i-i cant!” Dave stuttered as the portal began to ripple. well he was right, this would have turned into a bomb and it did. “I hate it when im right...” he mumbled those last words as a bright light covered the room. when the light cleared. Dave was gone...


“ow...” he muttered sitting up. “argh my head.... where am i?” he looked around his eye-sight blurred. “uh hey there partner. you ok?”  he looked around to what looked like a orange blob. “ya i think im ok. where am i?” Dave sed as he try’ed to get up but whoever was infront of him kept him down. “easy there partner, so you dont know where you are hmm?” the female wester voice asked him in a worryed tone. “no i dont.” Dave sighed looking around again. “well your in ponyville right now.” Dave looked at the person again. “excuse me?” his vision began to clear and what he saw before him was a tan looking pony with a blond mane and tail. “you heard me, i sed ponyville. my name is Applejack. nice to meet ya partner.” she held out her hoof but Dave gave her a look of confusion. “what in the world.” he looked at himself and almost gasped. he had been turned into a pony! he had a gray coat and a somewhat light brown mane. “i look.... strange...” he muttered confused. Applejack looked at him with the same look. “um you ok partner? need to go see a doctor?” he just sat there looking at himself. “i was expecting something to happen but nothing like this...” he muttered then looked down at the side of his flank to see a mark that looked like a black star then he noticed he had a horn. “im a.....unicorn...” Dave took a deep breath. “what in the world is going on here?” he mumbled.

introductions introductions

Dave had stop breathing for a moment then looked up at Applejack remembering his manners. “Sorry miss Applejack. my name is Dave.” he held out his.....hoof and let her shack it. “so how did y’all end up here?” she asked putting her hoof down. “well i was testing this new portal when something went wrong and it exploded, then i woke up.....like this.” he looked at himself again. he still couldent believe what was going on but he might as well try and find out. “A portal? well then you’ed want to go Twilight Sparkle and find out what happened.” Twilight Sparkle? this is starting to get stranger. “um thanks.” Dave got up an stumbled a bit. “easy there partner. you did just go head first into a apple tree.” so thats why he had a head-ache he thought. “i’ll be ok,” he mumbled and started walking slowly. he looked behind him slightly to see Applejack following him. “why are you following me?” he stopped and turned to look at her. “im just making sure you get there ok and without getting lost.” she smiled at him and he sighed. “then why dont you take the lead?” Applejack nodded and walked ahead of him. he thought as they walked, what had gone wrong and how could he get back and fix it? he wouldent be much use without thumbs. he sighed out loud and Applejack turned her head to him. “you ok partner?” he nodded. “im fine thanks. so how did you find me?” she turned her head forward then started explaining. “well its time to harvest the apples so i went out too start collecting when something hit the tree i was walking towards, i looked around it and there ya were passed out.” he looked back at the tree and sighed. “that explains it. seems i was thrown forward when i went threw...” he began mumbling to himself when Applejack laughed. “you and Twilight are going to be good friends!” Dave looked at her. “whats that suppose to mean?” he raise a eye-brow at her and she giggled. “oh dont worry about that right now partner.”


amazing! he thought as they walked threw town. pony’s everywhere! shopping, working, eating, everything a human would do normally. “wow....” he muttered looking around. “ya its a wonderful place too be. best apples you can find too.” Applejack called back. he looked up at the clouds and saw they were moving with the help of pegasi! “a flying pony.... moving the clouds.” he mumbled and looked around for something. “watcha looking for partner?” she looked back at him. “i need to find something to write on.” he looked up at her. “well Twilight might have something for ya to write on. come on the library right over here!” he started moving faster. he could just catch up when she stopped at the door to the large tree house. she kicked to door lightly as if knocking on in. the door opened but he dident see anyone. “hey there Applejack! come on in Twilights up stairs.” he looked down to see the little green lizerd thing talking to them. “thanks Spike.” Applejack walked in and Dave followed. “whos this?” Spike asked cheerfully. “this fellers name is Dave and i found him passed out by one of the trees.” Spike looked at him. “you ok?” Dave nodded speechless. he finally spoke. “so um....Spike, what are you exactly?” Spike looked at him. “im a dragon. Twilight hatched me.” Dave began to circle him like a shark. “hmm...” he hummed thinking. “uh hey i dont like being studied by someone i just met.” Dave stopped and sat down. “sorry. i just never saw a dragon before.” Spike laughed. “hopefully im the only dragon you’ll ever see.” Dave looked at him as if reading. “let me guess, they build up hordes of items and jems and become hostile when anything go’s near?” Spike looked surprised. “ya... i thought you never met a dragon before.” Dave smiled for the first time in a while. “it’s easy to see you have been to a dragon den before. the gems sparkle in your eyes and the shiver you got when you brought it up was easy to notice. so i guessing someone had to help you escape from it. hmm.” both Spike and Applejack were speechless. “h-how did you know?” Dave was about to explain when the sound of hoof-steps sounded on the stairs and a purple pony came down. “hey applejack. who’s this?” she looked at Dave. “Hey Twilight, this fellas name is Dave and i found him passed out at my place. sed something about a portal goin wrong.” Twilight looked at him with interest. “maby i can help. what happened?” Dave put up his hoof. “sorry but can i have something to write on and with please? i need to take some notes.” Twilight nodded and flouted a pice of paper and a quill with ink over to him and set them down. he picked it with a little difficulty with his hoof. “why dont you just use your magic?” he looked up at her. “excuse me?” he ask confused. “ya you can just levitate it with magic. you are a unicorn.” he looked up and examined his horn. “hmm.” he thought and the horn started glowing a blackish color and the quill and ink started flouting, as did the paper. “fascinating.” he mumbled as the quill went to work writing something down. he then set the paper and quill down then looked up. “right then. so yes the portal i was testing exploded and sent me face first into a tree from what i can gather.” Spike giggled a bit and Applejack smiled. Twilight looked at them then back at Dave. “what do you think went wrong? too much magic?” Dave shook his head. “we dident use magic. all we had to work with was advanced technology and ower wits.” Twilight gave him a confused look. “technology? wait there are more of you?” Dave nodded. “yes. i must have taken the blunt of it all. explains a bit about how i got here i suppose.” he looked back at the paper then up at Twilight. “i dont know how meany survived the blast and i dont know how to get back.” he sighed. Twilight started thinking and books from random shelves flew over and she started reading threw them. “its a mystery to me too.” she mumbled and looked at him. “why dont we have some lunch. we can search for something a bit later.” Dave sighed and nodded. “why not. so whats there to eat?” Spike jumped up. “i can make soup and sandwich’s!” Twilight looked at the little dragon and smiled. “thanks Spike.” he ran into another room. Dave looked up at Twilight. “so you run this place? i must say it would be a fascinating job being a librarian.” she laughed. “it gets boring sometimes but i have my friends to look after me.” Applejack laughed. “i best be going y’all. got to get back to the apple trees.” she walked out the door. “see you latter Applejack!” Twilight called. Dave yawned and looked around. he flouted a book of the shelf and opened it to pass the time. he had no clue why he was doing it but he enjoyed it. the book was about the history of Equestria. “hmm.” he started thinking as he read. “alright everypony i have the food!” Spike called walking in the room with a large plate with daisy sandwich’s and grass soup. without thinking he flouted the food that was his over to him and ate slowly as he was thinking. Twilight watched him. “hes getting threw that book faster then i did.” he looked at Spike. “oh its alright Twilight. he can look at you and tell your past witch i find creepy.” Twilight looked at him. “really?” Spike nodded. “ya. he told me about the time i ran into the dragon den in the everfree forest and you and Owlowiscious came and saved me.” Twilight looked over to the focused Dave. “theres something strange about him if he can do that.” she thought to herself

dont mess with smart ponys

Dave finished the book before his food then saw that Spike and Twilight were watching him. “what?” Twilight shook her head. “nothing. so a portal explosion sent you here? but if it exploded then you would have most likely died.” Dave nodded. “your right. so it must have worked but something happened before it sent me here.” the kept voicing there opinions  as Spike watched. “theres never this much peace for lon-” a pink blur tackled Dave to the ground. “hi my namd is Pinky Pie whats yours are you new here iv been here for a long time-” Twilight looked at her. “Pinky...” she called. “so you are new here oh thats wonderful i have to throw you a party with bloons, and streamers and-” “Pinky!” “and i have to get a cake! what do you like more chocolate or vanilla?” “PINKY!” Twilight yelled and Pinky looked up at her. “oh hey Twilight! i was just talking to my new friend here.....um....” Dave was just staring at her his face not moving. “Dave.” Pinky nodded. “so what are you doing?” she looked back at Twilight. “i was hoping you could let him up?” Pinky nodded and got up. Dave got up and sat back down. “so Pinky Pie you sed something about a party?” Pinky gasped. “your right! i have to go get ready!” she rushed out the door. “so should i take care of my plate or-” Spike ran over and picked it up. “i got it.” Dave looked at him and nodded. “thanks.” Spike ran back into the other room. Twilight smiled and walked over to him. “now you have to get ready for your party.” Dave nodded. “how long?” he asked Twilight when Pinky Pie burst threw the door. “NOW!” Pinky grabbed him by the hoof and ran threw the almost empty town to a large pink building and opened the door to see a gathering of pony’s having a grate time. “i was right you do throw good party’s.” he mumbled. “altho you did get this together pretty fast. how?” he looked a Pinky and she smiled. “i knew someone new had come to ponyville so i started handing out invites right away!” Dave looked a bit surprised. “amazing.” Pinky laughed. “thanks! now go have fun!” he nodded slowly and walked in. almost everypony stopped to talk to him for a bit but the most meaningful chat he had was with a brown pony named Dr.Whoovs and about time. he had finally made it to the punch bowl and he got a drink. “this is a interesting place, i must say.” he took a sip of punch when someone bumped into him. “hey watch it buddy!” he turned to see a rainbow colored pegasi with a angry face. “if i may point out you were the one who bumped into me. i was standing still.” the pegasi got angrier. “my point! its a party you need to be moving!” Dave was getting a bit annoyed with this pegasi but her being angry made it easier to read. “at least i dont have a nickname like ‘crash.’” the pegasi looked confused and got even more angry. “well....well....” Dave spoke.  “in fact im glade i dont have wings, if i had to deal with crashing at times i would just walk.” she looked a bit sad now. “and i never fell asleep in school to learn about flying. how you became the fastest escapes me, and not much can do that.” “i-i...” “and being awesome dosint make you smart, it dosint even teach you a thing about being a good person, it just proves you would have a bad time making friends.” she looked to be on the verge of tears then flew out. Dave sighed then looked around to see everyone staring at him. “....what?”

sorry about that

everypony had started talking about what had just happened but Dave went back to drinking his punch when Pinky Pie walked over to him. “why did you say all those mean things to Rainbow Dash?” she looked very upset but he shrugged. “i was voicing the truth. and the truth can hurt, as you can see im not the most muscular ......er pony so i have to use the truth to aid me in battle. trust me she looked like she was about to pound me if i stopped.” Pinky Pie just looked at him. “well you dident have to insult her.” he sighed. “well i did think that was going a bit far but i have to improvise cus some people take the truth as a complement so i have to bring in some back-up.” Pinky still looked sad. Dave sighed finally. “alright i’ll go find her and say sorry but if she starts back up on me then im going further then what i just did.” he could tell the look in his eye scared her a bit, he finally got away from the party and went looking for this ‘Rainbow Dash.’. he looked all over until he remembered she could fly then looked up to the clouds. he finally saw a rainbow color on one of them. “now, how do i get up there.” he then remembered the he was a unicorn and had magic. “alright lets see if this works...” he moved magic to his hooves and he started flouting lightly. “ok i just need to conttrol the out-put of magic going to my fee- er hooves and flout up there.” he started flouting up higher and higher until he was right next to the cloud. she had her eyes closed. “hmm.” he thought and tapped her with his hoof. “excuse me.” she jumped and almost fell when he caught her. “w-what the? how are you?” he looked at her. “magic. now im here to apologize for what i sed at the party.” she looked at him with mildly angry face. “why would you do that?” he shrugged. “i felt as tho i went a bit far with what i sed.” she raised a eye-brow at him and he sighed. “fine. i guess you cant accept it after what i sed i suppose.” he put his head down and started flouting to the ground when sher called. “wait! im sorry for bumping into you at the party. i should have watched where i was going.” he looked back up to her and flouted back up. “so....how are you..?” he looked at his hooves. “all im doing is sending a steady amount of magic to my hooves and pushing it out slow or fast enough to where i can give myself flight.” he looked back up to her and see she looked confused. “right... so how about we go back to the party?” she asked starting to hover. “sure.” they flew back down to sugar-cube corner and reentered. he took a side step to avoid being tackled by Pinky again and saw that Twilight had shown up. she saw him and smiled. “hey Dave! your back!” he nodded. “ya i had to take care of something but dont worry i worked it out.” he gave Rainbow Dash a side glance then looked back a Twilight. “so when did you arrive?” he asked walking over to her. “just a few moments ago, actually.” he looked back at Rainbow Dash. “i dont think i introduced myself yet. my name is Dave.” Rainbow smiled. “my name is Rainbow Dash. nice to meet ya!” he nodded. “likewise.” he looked back to Twilight. “i must say this party was a good idea. i got to know most of everyone in town.” everyone nodded. “hey Twilight have you seen Rarity?” Pinky bounced over after recovering from the fall. “i think she was working on a new outfit or something.” Dave guessed that Rarity was another one of there friends. “i wish Applejack could have came but she needed to get the apples harvested.” they all nodded. Dave went back over to the punch bowl and got another cup full. he sat down and sighed. “i guess i could get use to this if i cant go back...” he muttered taking a sip. something happened and the cup he was drinking our of shattered. “what the?” he looked around. “hmm.” he shrugged it off and put the peaces back together with his magic and set the cup down. “e-excuse me.” a soft voice called beside him. he turned to looked at a lightish pony that’s head was lowered a bit, “d-do you know where i can find Twilight Sparkle?” he nodded and looked towards where they were standing. “t-thanks.” he walked over to them and started talking about stuff. soon they walked over to him and introduced there friend. “Dave this is Fluttershy.” he nodded at her. “hi” she sed simply

after a while the party ended and Dave continued his rant with Twilight on there way back to the library. “everything was hooked up right and we even checked 10 times in a row so it couldent have been that.” Twilight kept thinking. “maby it was the way you built it. a circle type base is sometimes unstable.” he nodded. “you may be right about that but when i turned to look at it it was sparking so it must have been one of the wires.” they both nodded and kept talking about it when they got to the library. “you can stay her for the night if you need to.” he thought then nodded. “that would be helpful thanks.” she smiled and went up stares. he looked around at all the books and started reading them. books about creatures, legends, myths, how clouds are made, the everfree forest. “everfree forest?” he thought as he kept reading. “a castle in the middle hmm. interesting.” he kept reading the books until he read every book in the library. “i guess i should get some sleep then.” he layed down and fell to sleep quickly after a long day.


he woke up to the smell of soup cooking over a fire. he sat up and noticed a pillow and blanket had been placed where he had been sleeping. “hmm.” he yawned and got up. he looked around. he sighed in relief when when he saw he had put all the books back and organized them. he walked into the room the smell had been coming from to see Spike cooking soup and three plates with sandwiches on them. “Morning Dave.” he sed looking at him. “sleep well?” Dave nodded. “Twilight still sleeping?” Spike nodded. “ya she was up most the night thinking.” Dave sighed. “i use to stay up weeks in a row conducting experiments and all that.” he sed as he finished his sandwich when he heard a knock on the door. “i got it Spike.” Dave walked over to the front door and opened it to see a large pony with wings, a horn, and a long flowing mane with mixed colors. “.....can i help you?” he asked with a raised eye-brow. “um yes is Twilight Sparkle here?” he nodded. “but she’s asleep right now. but knowing her she’l be up in a few moments. come on in.” the large pony smiled and followed him. “so whats your name?” she asked looking at dave read threw a book. “the names Dave. and you?” he dident look away from the book. “my name is Princess Celestia.” he looked up at her from the book. “oh? what brings you here?” she smiled. “well Twilight sent me a letter saying there was a new pony in town and had some amazing abilities so i decided to come for a visit.” ya a visit he thought. she just wants to see if im a threat. “well i hope im not one to disappoint.” she looked at him. “its you?” he shrugged. “im the only one who showed up recently and i can supposably read a face and use the info i gather to my own ability.” he looked back at her and saw she had a amazed face on. “well, thats fascinating!” she smiled. “thank you.” soon they heard hoof-steps up a floor. “that must be her.” Dave mumbled. Celestia nodded as Twilight came down the stares moments later. “Princess Celestia! i dident know you were coming! i would have cleaned up and-” the princess put her hoof up. “Twilight its alright. and besides this place is surprisingly clean.” Twilight looked around. “your right. Dave did you clean up.” he nodded. “ya, as a thank you for letting me stay here.” he smiled. the princess looked at Dave. “so can you prove to-” he looked at her. “to you that i can do what i say i can? i’ll try my best too.” the princess looked surprised. “to be honest you seem to be a bit jumpy ever sines you have met me. i noticed when i answered the door you looked almost dissapointed. and when i told you it was me that showed up recently you seemed to grow in defense to what i sed. you put on a harder face to read and too my surprise you havent noticed that you are flouting a foot of the ground.” the princess looked down in shock. “w-what? h-how?” he looked at her. “im full of surprises and iv been finding them out one by one ever sines i showed up.” he smiled. “and friendship is the only kind of powerful magic.” the princess and Twilight both looked speechless at what he had sed and done. the princess was set back down and she sighed. “so you are very powerful and you can read a ponys mind just by looking at there face.” she giggled. “thats amazing! how do you do that?” he shrugged. “i dont know. iv been able to do it ever sines i was a kid.” again they both looked speechless. he looked around. “....what?”

could it be...?

Dave sat there and watched them stare at him for a long while until Spike came in with Twilights food. “princess! what are you doing here?” she got up and smiled at him. “oh i was just here for a quick visit. but i have to go now tho, i’ll come visit when i get time.” she turned and walked out the door. Dave waited a bit then got up. “im going for a walk.” he left before anyone could protest. he got outside and looked around. “it looks like any normal day.” he mumbled as he began walking threw the town. he got half way too town hall when something ran into him and he fell. “oh sorry mister!” he looked up to see a pony with a blond mane and eyes staring him in the eye. “um its ok.” he sed with a surprised look on his face. “what are you doing?” the pony went somewhat cross eyed that made her look adorable. “i thought you were somepony else! im delivering mail.” she looked down. “im sorry.” she mumbled. he felt kinda bad so he put his hoof on her head. “its......its ok.” he mumbled and she bolted up. “thanks! whats you name? my name is Dipsy doo!” she smiled with those adorable eyes. “er nice to meet you Dipsy. my name is Dave.” she looked at him with straight eyes. “thats a cool name! so whacha doin?” she asked. Dave shrugged. “well i was on a walk.” she smiled some more. “oh you can come with me! i dont want to fly anymore today.” he couldent say no. “a-alright.” he followed her around for a while listening to her rants about random things, mostly muffins. “i like blue muffins the most but i like other kinds too! like strawberry and corn-muffins and chocolate chip and all other kinds!” Dave nodded. he was enjoying talking with Dipsy. “here ya go mister!” she handed a letter to a pony then started walking again. “oh!” she stopped and reached into her bag and pulled out another letter and handed it to him. “whats this?” he opened it to see it was a poorly written invite to a birthday party. “you’v been nice to me this hole time so i thought i would give you one of these.” she smiled at him with those adorable eyes. “y-ya. i’ll be there.” he smiled. Dipsy started flapping her wings. “i have to go now. i hope to see you there tomorrow!” she took off. he looked back at the invite and smiled. “ya. i’ll be there.”


the sun was going down by the time he got back to the library. he found the door unlocked and no one there. “hmm they must have went out.” he sat down and started reading a book. he had read every book again by the time they got back. “oh hey Dave! welcome back!” Spike called bringing it some things. “that should be my line.” they both laughed. “you seem more cheerful sines i last saw you. whats up?” he set some things down and looked at him. Dave held up the invite. “i got invited to a birthday party for a pony named Dipsy doo.” Spike gave him a strange look. “well if you say so.” he went upstairs and Twilight came in shortly after. “oh hey Dave! your back.” he nodded studying the invite. “going to a party? too bad i cant go i have things i have to do tomorrow.” she sighed. “it’s ok.” he smiled and went back to studying it. he got up and ran outside to the to sugar-cube corner. it was about to close when Dave took a step in. “oh hi Dave! what do ya need?” he looked a Pinky. “i need a box of blue-barry muffins please.”

the party of two

Dave had the muffins rapped in gift paper then he payed up with what he had. As he was leaving the moon started raising so he picked up his pace too get back to the library. When he got back he saw everyone had gone to bed. He sighed and set down the gift then layed down close to it to make sure nothing happened to it when he woke up. When he did wake up the next morning he saw the gift had not moved at all. He sighed. “Thats good. nothing happened to it.” he got up and yawned then walked into the kitchen. “Morning Dave.” Spike looked at him. “That present for Dipsy?” Dave looked down and saw he was holding the gift in his mouth. He nodded. Spike smiled and kept cooking the soup. Dave set the gift down and started eating the sandwich that was made for him. Twilight had came down the stairs and took a seat on the other side of the table. “so you got the birthday girl a gift last night hmm?” she looked at him and smiled. he nodded. “it wouldent be a birthday party without gifts.” they both laughed. as soon as he finished he went back out into the main room and looked at the invite again. “i have to leave now if im going to make it.” he mumbled and rushed out with the gift. It dident take him long to find the house. he waited a moment then knocked on the door. “come in!” a cheerful voice sounded from inside. he opened the door and what he saw left him heartbroken. only two or three people showed up and from the what they were saying to each other they came cus they felt bad for ‘Derpy Hooves.’. “what a horrible nickname...” he mumbled as he walked in more to where the punch bowl was and sat down with the gift. “Hey! you made it!” Dipsy almost ran into him again. “i sed i would be here. i got this for you.” he pushed the gift towards her. “oh thanks so much! what is it?” she asked ripping the paper. “*gasp* blueberry muffins! my favorite!” she hug tackled him and planted a kiss on his cheek before getting up to look at the muffins. he sat there for a bit his face noticeably red from what just happened. after about two minutes he got up and slowly and leaned agents the table as Dipsy got into the muffins. “wow...” he mumbled as he held his hoof up to his cheek. for half the party he just sat there sipping punch and watching Dipsy bounce around the house ranting about random things including muffins. the day was half over and all of the other guests had left when Dipsy brought out a large cake fit for a large party. she looked around and only say Dave. “everypony left? we dident have cake yet...” she looked dissapointed. he walked over to her and placed a hoof on he back. “its alright Dipsy. im still here at least.” she looked up at him with those adorable crossed eyes. “why dident you leave?” he started thinking. “well i guess i was having such i grate time i couldent leave until the party itself was over.” he smiled and her eyes straightened. “really? thanks for staying then! lets have some cake!” she cut the cake poorly and handed him a slice on a plate. they sat at a table chatting about a lot of things including muffins. the sun was starting to go down but Dave dident care he was have a grate time! by the time they finished the cake the moon was high in the sky. he looked outside the window into the darkness and sighed. “well i suppose its time for me to leave. it is late after all.” he looked back at Dipsy who’s eyes looked heavy. “oh ok then Dave... i see ya...” her head fell on the table with a thud. he rushed over. “Dipsy?” he saw she had fallen asleep. “wonderful.” he muttered. he couldent just leave her here so he picked her up and set her on his back. he began looking for a bed room in the house when he finally found it. he walked in and set her down in the bed and tucked her in. “...” he looked at her sleeping then without thinking he leaned down and kissed her forehead. “good-night.” he turned and left the room and went back out into the mine room. he looked around at all the party things and with his magic cleaned up everything before he left. he was tired himself but he was glade he spent the day doing something he liked, unlike what he did 24/7 in his old world. getting up, going to work for a few days or weeks, go home and rest for a hour or so, get up, go to work. that was all he did in the past. he was nearing the library when he lost his train of thought, something that hadent happened in a long time. “i need to get some sleep...” he mumbled has he walked in and over to where his make-shift bed was located and layed down. “well that was a fun day.” he mimbled as he brought the blanket over himself to sleep. “i wish i could do it everyday.”

Dave woke up the next morning a lot sooner then he did to hear knocking on the door. “coming...” he mumbled and got up with a yawn. he wondered who could be up at this hour looking for a book. he opened the door to find Dipsy sitting there with a smiled. “Oh hi Dave! you still up!” her eyes were crossed. “uh hi Dipsy. what are you doing here?” he tilted his head. “i just wanted to thank you for cleaning up my house while i was sleeping. im glade you did cus i have to work now and wouldent have been able to do it myself.” she hugged him. “thanks so much.” she backed up and started flapping her wings. “i have to go now! see ya later!” she took off. Dave just sat there for a long while thinking. “......i have feelings for her.” he finally sed and turned back to walk back into the library too see Spike standing there with his arms crossed and with a huge grin. “dont even start i have more dirt on you then there is on earth.” Dave gave Spike that look that made everyone shut-up. Spike’s grin dissapered as he rushed to the kitchen to start making breakfast. Dave sighed and walked back over to his make-shift bed to lay down. when his head hit the pillow he had instantly fell asleep. he awoke latter to find his breakfast sitting in front of him. he sat up and started eating, after he was done get got ready to go for a walk when Twilight called. “Dave! i have to go to Canterlot for a few days, can you look after the library while Spike and I are gone?” Dave turned to her coming down the stairs. “sure Twilight.” she smiled and and started walking out the door. “Come on Spike!” Spike followed her quickly shutting the door behind him. Dave looked around the now quiet library. he sighed and walked over to the door. “im still going for a walk. i’ll see that everything is in order before i leave.” he looked around the house and made sure it was all clean then left. it was a cold day, judging on how a couple of leaves were changing colors it was slowly transacting from summer to fall. “wonderful.” he muttered as he started walking.as he walked he thought about how other pony’s seemed to ignore Dipsy most of the time unless she was giving them there mail or running into something. “Hey!” he looked up to see Dipsy coming in at a high speed. “Dipsy slow down!” he backed up a bit but it was too late, she had crashed into him again but this time dident get off and instad hugged him. “I haven’t see you all day i thought you wert going to come out side at all today!” she was just too adorable looking at him with those crossed sad/happy eyes. “w-well Twilight had to go to Canterlot for something so i had to make sure the library was all taken care of before i left.” she sat up to let him up. “oh. so you were coming out too walk?” he looked at her and nodded. “thats grate! i’ll go with you!” she cheered. he felt a bit happy when she went with him. the hole time they talked about random things again. the sun started going down but he was lost in there ramblings. they would have talked right into the next day if Dipsy hadent yawned. “it is late. why dont you go home and get some rest?” Dave looked at her. “ok...” he mumbled tired as she flew off. he looked around to see where he was but found out fast that he was lost. “uh hey Dipsy!” she turned to look at him with her tired eyes. “mind if i sleep at you place tonight? i haven’t the slightest clue where i am and i am about to fall over from sleep.” he rubbed his eyes with his hoof. she nodded happily. “ok! i’ll get a guest room ready!” she flew of cheerfully. he kept up best he could so he could see where she was going. soon they were at Dipsy’s house, she unlocked the door and walked in with Dave following close behind. the house was dark until Dipsy turned on some lights. she wondered into the back halls and walked into a empty room. “you can stay here!” she turned and smiled at him and he smiled back. “thanks for letting me stay for the night Dipsy. i’ll find a way to pay you back as soon as i can.” she smiled at him. “you can pay me back by talking with me everyday!” she walked past him to the door. “then i will. good-night Dipsy.” she turned and looked at him. “good-night Dave.” she walked down the hall, turned off the lights, then went to her room. Dave looked around the guest room and walked over to the bed. “sweet dreams i guess.” he laughed a bit. then got in the bed. he sat there for a long while until the words he had stuck in him all day came out. “i love you Dipsy.” he muttered and went to sleep.

The Race

Dave had sed good-by to Dipsy and started walking back to the library when a rainbow blur rushed past him almost knocking him over. Something caught him. “Im sorry dear Rainbow Dash is just feeling confident today.” A very high-class voice sed behind him. He turned to see a pony with a curly purple mane. “As a matter of fact i dont think we have met. My name is Rarity.” Dave nodded. “My name is Dave. Nice to meet you. Anyway that was Rainbow Dash? she seems a bit active today.” He turned and looked at the rainbow blur flying around. “Yes it seems she wants to practice today so she pushing herself.” Dave was a bit irritated at this. “Hey Rainbow Dash!” He called her. She stopped and flew over to him. “What do you want? Cant you see im practicing?” He nodded slowly. “I see almost knocking people over is a skill of yours.” She blinked then got in his face. “Well at least i dont stand as still as a rock!” “At least i dont act rude when I do bump into someone!” Rarity saw it was hopeless stopping them. They kept going back and forth until finally, “Then lets have a race!” Rainbow Dash yelled at him. Rarity looked up surprised but Dave just stared at her with rage. “When and where?” Rainbow Dash looked confident. “From the edge of town to the Everfree forest. That should be far enough. We’ll start in a few hours.” Dave gave her the stare. “I’ll be there.”


The time it took him to get to the edge of town was time enough for Rainbow Dash to tell the hole town about it. When he finally got to the starting line almost the hole town was there to watch. “Hey slow poke.” Rainbow Dash called. “What took you so long?” He looked at her with the same sneer. “It’s a wonderful day so i thought id walk and see the sights.” Rainbow Dash crouched on the make-shift starting line. “Ya grate story now come one and get on the line.” Dave did so, Pinky Pie had somehow found one of those huge bloon things and had a mega phone. “We are here to witness a almost one-sided race agents ponyville’s very own Rainbow Dash and the new pony Dave!” Everyone cheered, one-sided? Oh its on. “Ready!” They both crouched lower on the line. “Get set!” They tensed. “GO!” They both took off tied at first but Rainbow Dash quickly gained speed and shot off into the lead. “dang it!” He yelled as he tryed to pick up speed but failed. He then remembered he was a unicorn and did what he did when he first met Rainbow Dash, he sent magic to his hooves and he started catching up. What he saw almost made him trip, he could see the sound barrier start to bend in front of Dash. It soon broke and she shot off faster then she had been going. “A sonic Rain-Boom!” Pinky yelled into the mega phone. ‘I have to do something if im going to at least catch up.’ He thought then decided to try and brake the barrier himself. But the same thing dident happen, his mane and tail turned dark and started leaving a trail behind him. The power he had built up exploded and he shot forward except he had more of a impact on his surroundings, trees got knocked down and some even up-rooted and followed him a ways, windows broke and the ground cracked every time his hooves hit the ground. He was now neck-n-neck with Rainbow Dash as they neared the finish line. They both zoomed past it. “OH MY GOSH!” Pinky screamed into the mega phone. “It looks like a tie folks!” Dave and Rainbow Dash almost ran into a couple of trees. When they had finally stopped they were both out of breath. Pinky Pie landed not to far away and bounced over to them. “That was amazing!” She looked at the both of them then stared at Dave. “how did you do that? That was so cool! It was like a huge explosin of dark stuff!” Dave looked up at her. “what? What happened?” he got up and walked over to see the effect he had on everything. Dark lightining crackled all over where he was running and the ground was scared with cracks, some trees had been up-rooted and throw all over the place, and all around town there was shattered glass. “Wow....” Both Rainbow Dash and Dave muttered as they looked at the damage there was that went on. “And i thought Twilight was good with magic...” Rainbow Dash muttered.

The dragon thingy

The next day started out like any other except everypony was staring at him and Rainbow Dash hung out with him more. No interesting words were shared between them other then speed and flying. He talked to Dipsy a lot too. After three days Twilight had come back to the library. “Dave? You here?” She called. “Ya.” he looked up from the book he had been reading. “Welcome back. You missed a lot.” Twilight gave him a confused look. “I’ll explain what happened while you were gone.” As she was getting settled in Dave told her about all that went down at the race. “So you built up so much magic it exploded out of your hooves as you ran?” Dave nodded. “Interesting. So thats what i felt in Canterlot...” She mumbled the last part then looked up at him. “What ever you did it was felt by almost everypony in Canterlot.” Dave thought for a moment. “They’ll get over it.” Twilight couldent help but to laugh and Dave smiled. “Anyway how was your trip?” Twilight then started telling Dave about how everything went. “But then i felt something come from Ponyville. It must have been whatever you did.” Dave began to think. “I wonder what i should name it....” Twilight looked at him. “Well i heard it looked like a dark shooting-star.” Dave thought more. “Well how about Shadow-Star? that sounds like a awesome name.” They both laughed and started talking about the ‘Shadow-Star’. They talked until the sun went down. “I think im going to take a nap. It was a long trip.” Twilight sighed and got up. Dave nodded. “Good-night.” Twilight picked up Spike who was asleep on the stares and they both went up a floor. Dave sat there for a while reading until he smelled chocolate. “What in the world...?” He got up and walked outside to see it raining not water but.......Chocolate milk? “......This cant be good...” He looked up and saw that the cloud it was coming from was pink. “Yup thats a bad sign. Thats not suppose to be happening.” he walked back inside and he was half way up the steps to the second floor when Rainbow Dash burst threw the front door followed by Rarity, Pinky Pie, Fluttershy, and Applejack. “Dave!” Rainbow Dash flew up too him. “Is Twilight back yet?” He nodded. “Ya i was just on my way up to ask her why it’s raining chocolate milk.” Rainbow Dash flew up-stairs before Dave could say anything more. After about a minute both Rainbow Dash and Twilight rushed down and out the door with the others. “.....Ok?” He walked back over to the door and walked outside to see a building start flouting. “........” His horn glowed dark and the house slowly lowered itself back to the ground. “So im staying here to keep everything grounded? Wonderful...” He kept walking around town keeping things in order the best he could. “Hey gray guy!” Dave turned to look at some messed up dragon looking thing. “Ya?” he sed while lowering another house. “You know everything looks better messed up?” Dave thought about this. “For some things yes but what if a house belonged to a pony without wings and they needed to go get food or something? Im just trying to keep the houses grounded.” The dragon thing made a pifft sound. “But thats the adventure! They need to find a way down.” Dave just stared at him. “I take it your the one doing all of this? Whats your name?” The dragon thing giggled. “My name is Discord, and i thank you for freeing me from my stoney prison.” Dave looked at him. “And how did i do that?” Discord looked at him as if he were joking. “You were the one who did the giant dark exploding thing.” Dave nodded slowly. “Ya grate story now put everything down before you get hurt.” Discord looked hurt. “Aw but im just getting started.” He grinned and snapped his fingers, suddinly dave was in the VERY north. “Oh when i get back there he is going to get it.” He grumbled as he started walking on the snow covered mountains.

Hero or monster?

He shivered a bit as he walked. “note to self: NEVER go this far north ever.” Dave grumbled. He soon found himself going down hill and picking up speed. “Hmm.” He started thinking, then he started running sending magic to his hooves. “It’s my only chance to get back in time.” he started getting faster and faster until everything turned into a blur. His mane and tail turned dark and left a path again. “Almost......Got it!” Soon enough he shot off leaving behind a large explosion of dark energy but this time he hovered a bit off the ground as he zipped past the land. It still took him about 3 hours to get back to Ponyville and by that time the town was all messed up. He slowed down to a walk, as he walked the disorder he passed seemed to fix itself. He got to where town hall should have been but instead sat a discolored thrown with Discord sitting on it. “Oh its you.” He mumbled. “So have you come to your senses?” Dave gave him the look. “No, and i will never understand your logic.” He then noticed the sleeping bodes of all his friends around the thrown in random places. “As you can see not even the elements can stop me now.” He giggled. Dave’s horn began to glow dark and his voice got deep. “Unlucky for you, im. not. a. element.” dark lightning shot out of his horn. Discord got out of the way just in time to avoid the blast, his thrown destroyed. “Easy!” Discord got up. “Watch where your pointing that!” Dave looked at him, his eyes had darkened. “Oh sorry. I wasint aiming for the thrown.” another blast of dark lightning shot at Discord. Only a small bit had scratched his right arm witch seemed to make it freeze up.”OW!” he cried out. “I-i mean i have some cup-cakes in the oven i have to go bye!” He snapped his fingers and dissapered. Dave snorted and the town started returning to normal. "You better run. Sending me off to the north like that.” he turned and looked at all his friends. His horn started glowing again and all they’r wounds healed. They started waking up. “W-what happened? Did we win?” Rainbow Dash muttered. Dave shook his head. “You guy’s dident, but I did.” Rainbow Dash looked at him with a look of amazement. “How?” Twilight asked getting up. “The only way i could, i zapped him.” His horn pulsed with dark electricity. “Wow, you are powerful!” Twilight laughed a bit then looked a bit sad for a split second. “So now what?” He asked looking around. The others looked around has well to see everything in order. “I was going to say fix the town, but you beat us too it.” Applejack laughed. Rarity got up and started walking away. “Im going to go see if my house is alright.” The others nodded in agreement and thanked Dave except for Rainbow Dash and walked/flew to there homes. He dident take two steps before he was tackled by three small pony’s with capes on. “That was so cool! You were all like ‘crack-BOOM!’ and he was all like ‘AH HELP ME!’ then he went ‘poof!’ and ran like a little baby!” The small orange one bounced around as Dave got up. “What in the...?” Another one that looked a bit like Applejack followed the bouncing one. “Ya havta admit that was really cool!” He watched them circle him as another one with lightish blue fur walked over. “Can no one see he is confused?” The other two stopped and looked at him. “Ya he dos look a bit confused.” He looked at the orange one. “A bit?” He asked. That made the other two crack up. “So can i know why i was tackled?” he looked around at the three. “Oh well we saw you take on that big scary guy so we thought we might as you for advise.” He looked confused again. “Can i get some names please?” The orange one flapped her wings. “Im Scootaloo!” The one that looked like Applejack spoke next. “Im Applebloom!” The last one spoke. “And im Sweetie Belle!” They then all spoke at the same time. “And we are the Cutie Mark Crusaders!” Dave couldent help but to smile. “So what do you girls need advice on?” Scootaloo spoke up. “We want to know how to beat up big bad guys like you did!” He stared at the three. “Why?” Sweetie Belle spoke this time. “We want to get ower cutie marks and want to try being heros!” Dave dident know what a cutie mark was but guessed it was something you got when you found you talent in life. “Well its a bit risky taking on bad guys, you need to be good at defending yourself and others and not be afraid to get hurt or die protecting others.” When he had sed ‘die’ they all looked a bit shaken up but Scootaloo spoke again. “I-it would be worth it! And we would get ower cutie marks while doing it!” He tried to face palm but he dident have palms. “Listen girls you have a long life ahead of you so i dont recommend it. As for me i have nothing left to lose...” he muttered the last part. The three looked at each other then started walking away wanting to leave Dave alone. Dave was having a flash-back


“Get in the chamber.” he growled as he pushed the woman in a small room with glass walls and 3 vents in the floor. “Start test 35. We are going to get this right.” He grumbled. The woman’s cry's of terror and fear could not be heard threw the wall as a gas pored into the room. She instantly started ganging. One of the lab assistants went to turn the gas off but Dave stopped him. “Keep going.” he stared at the room with ‘The Look’. She fell over and started choking on blood. The young lab assistant tryed to get lose from Dave’s almost indestructible grip but failed horribly. The woman soon stopped breathing and Dave shut off the gas. As soon as all the gas had been cleared the door opened. “Dammit!” he walked over to a clip bored and wrote something down. “Get another subject in here and adjust the gas a bit!” He barked at the others.

midnight encounter

Dave had almost thrown-up from his sudden memory. His eyes had watered up as well witch made it hard to find out where he was going. “I never wanted to remember again, those meds made me forget... I never wanted to remember again...” He repeated himself the tears starting to fall. “How could i have been so heartless? Just for the sake of success i would kill test subjects? I am just a monster...” He kept mumbling to himself has he got even more lost. Soon he looked up and looked around the huge forest he had gotten lost in. “Wonderful.” He muttered following the sent of what smelled like soup cooking. He soon found himself at the front door of a hut. He knocked on the door and waited until a zebra opened it. “A unexpected guest. What makes you visit me today?” He looked up. “i thought you may be some sorta alchemist so i was hoping you could help me with something.” She rised a eye-brow at him. “Now what made you think i was a alchemist?” He sniffed. “I could tell someone was brewing because of the smell.” She blinked. “You must be a very smart pony to know something like this. Why would you need my help?” He started explaining EVERYTHING for the first time sines he got here, how he got here, what he was doing before, everything. “Hmm. You have yet to answer my question. Why would you need my help?” He looked down. “I need something to help me forget some evil things i have done.... I just started remembering and i want to stop it there.” The zebra thought about this. “I wont ask you what you did but i will ask you this. why do you want to forget?” He looked back up. “I dont want the dark things i did to cloud my future, i know one day i will remember everything but hopefully thats when i cant go any farther.” She stared at him for a long while until she let him in. “My name is Zecora. What is yours?” He walked in the hut and looked around. “My name is Dave. Nice to meet you Zecora.” She walked past him, gathering some plants as she walked around the hut. “Now i cant make you forget what you already know but i can stop them from coming. How far back do you want to forget?” He sat down near where she was mixing the herbs. “about two years ago is when i started taking the pills, so from right there please.” She gave him a look. “That is very recent. To think you were someone who dident have any friends and dident care for anyponys health.” He lowered his ears. “Not helping.” She kept mixing the herbs. “Sorry.” She pored the powder into a small bowl and started stirring. “This should keep you from remembering until you yourself want to remember.” She pushed the bowl over to him. He picked it up with his magic and drank the hole thing. He dropped the bowl and backed up and bumped into a table holding his hoof to his head. “T-that hurt more then i thought it would...” he shook his head then looked at Zecora. “Thank’s. Let me know if i can do anything to repay you.” She nodded. “I think you should get going. Your friends may be worried about you” he nodded and walked out the door thanking her again before walking into the forest. He knew witch way to go but the hiding from monsters made it take longer then it should have. He soon stepped out of the forest by a small house with the sent of animals strong. “That must be fluttershy’s house” he guessed and kept walking not wanting to disturb her at a late hour. He saw something moving up in the dark sky. “Hello?” he called. It stopped and a voice could be heard but not understood. “Hello?” He started walking towards it. ‘I thought when you see and hear strange noises in the night you DONT investigate them...’ he grumbled in his mind. He thought he heard a little yelp as it dove to the ground. He sped up his horn glowing, the possibility of it being a threat high. He soon came up to a cowering pony in a very hard to see purple robe. “What in the world?” he poked it with his hoof and it yelped. “L-leave me alone!” It shouted at him. It sounded like a female. “Why? you could be hurt.” Her shivering slowed down a little. “I-im fine just go away.” he sat down and waited. Soon she stopped shivering all together and sat up faced away from Dave. “Good now we can get back to flying lessons.” This confused Dave, he thought the only one with wings and a horn was the princess. He poked her shoulder witch was the funnest thing he had ever done in his life. She zipped around with wide green eyes. “Ya i never left.” He laughed. She looked like she was about to faint. “Oh calm down im not going to eat you.” She backed up a bit. “I-i thought i told you to leave me alone.” He nodded. “Ya you did. But not everyone listens to royalty.” He took a wild guess in saying that. “S-so you know who i am?” He shook his head. “Nope.”

Meeting Luna (nightmare.)

She gave him a look he couldent read then she sighed.

“My sister was right, there is a smart pony here.” He looked at her.

“So could you tell me who you are before i think my head off?” This had made her smiled a bit

“My name is Luna. Princess of the moon.” From the looks of it she seems to know Celestia in some way. “When you were talking about you sister, did you mean Celestia?” She nodded

“Yes, she speaks of you whenever something bad happens.” Dave chuckled. “No wonder, last time we met i lifted her up about a foot in the air without her noticing then read her mind like a open book.”

Luna nodded. “I heard. How did you do that?” Dave had thought back to the moment. “Well she was so distracted trying to make it so i couldent read her mind she dident notice when she started flying so I decided to try and get a laugh out of it.” He giggled.


“It worked wonders.” They had both started laughing. “So what brings you to ponyville?” He had stopped laughing and looked at her. She had blushed a small bit.


“Well i was having trouble flying so i decided to practice a bit around this area.” He started thinking again. Why dident she know how to fly right? He remembered reading something about Luna way back but he just couldent put his hoof on it.


“Well if you want i could help.” Luna just stared at him. “But you dont have any wings.” He nodded. “True but I can fly.” he started flouting witch surprised Luna. “Its not that hard to do. You have wings so you shouldent have to use magic but if you do at least get yourself started. Then release the magic bits at a time.” He started flouting around as if he had wings.


“T-thats amazing!” She cheered. He grinned. “Here, let me get you started.” She jumped when he sed that and looked down to make sure she wasint flouting. “Gotcha.” He giggled and she sighed. “Please dont do that.” He flouted back down to the ground. “But seriously if you need any help i’ll help.” She looked at him. “Thanks. I’ll come back tomorrow after the sun has set so we can get started.” She had started walking away until she dissapered completely into the night.


“Well that was a.......Interesting encounter.” He sighed and kept walking forgetting why he was out so late in the first place. He eventually found his way back to the library and opened the door. Twilight had been up studying some books about portals. “Welcome back Dave.” She looked up and smiled. Dave was tired from walking around and zapping dragon things all day so he just nodded to her has he walked over to his ‘bed’ and layed down.

“Hey Twi, why do you think im so strong with magic and stuff?” Twilight looked at him. “Im not sure. It might be because you dont use magic very often and it just builds up.” Dave nodded a bit the sighed. “Thanks. Good-night Twi.” he rolled over and quickly fell asleep.




“Dave this is going too far!” one of the younger lab assistents had yelled at Dave. Dave was covered in blood and washing his hands. “Dont talk like that to me i am you superior.” The young man shook his head.

“I dont care! You just cant rip someone’s heart out like that!” Dave turned to the operating table where a young boy’s lifeless body lay, a heart sitting in a silver tray. “I’ll give it back when im done with my experiments.” He walked over to the table and started taking out the lungs. “He’s already dead! You cant just give it back and expect it to be ok!”


Dave was getting sick of this whining. “You cheated a young boy out of his life just so you could run some tests! What do you think his moth-” Dave had spun around and punched the assistant in the face so hard it broke his neck.

He fell to the ground, blood pouring from from where the bone had shot out. Dave walked over to a intercom and pressed a button. “Send a janitor down to lab room 87B, the new guy got messy.” Dave looked back at the body with hatred.

More nightmare then reality

Dave had went back to tearing the young boy’s insides out. ‘Finally some quiet, he was getting annoying anyway.’ He thought has he tryed to remove the ribs. “Come on you pice of-!” He tore one side of ribs out again getting himself covered in blood. “Right a double shower tonight.” He giggled a bit and set down the left ribs and went to work on the right side.


“Its like working with a fun yet frustrating puzzle!” He sighed as the other side tore out. Good thing there was a drain in this room he most likely would have been up to his knees in blood. He set the other set of ribs down and started removing the stomach. He stopped and thought for a moment then got a rusty scalpel and started cutting the tube where the food went into the stomach. He succeeded in removing it but again got blood everywhere. “This would be the perfict horror movie.” He laughed. The elevator made a ding sound. A man in a haz-mat suit walked in and dragged the body of the dead assistant into the elevator.


Dave waved a thanks at him and went to work removing the rest of the guts witch came out easy enough. “Right now i just need to remove the eyes and brain then i can install a zipper.” He laughed a bit and started cutting open the face starting from the chin to the forehead. The face then pealed off going left and right. “Now i need to get the saw...” He muttered and reached to his side on the mini table. He soon found the bone saw and got to work cutting open the skull. A little blood spilled and he grumbled. “Good thing this kids baled.” He began cutting back to split the skull. Soon it opened up enough to reach his hand in there.


He scooped out the brain witch by the time he got to it had turned into mush. He grabbed a spoon and started scooping the eyes out. “Just a bit more...” He got both the eyes out with surprisingly very little blood. “right then.” he turned to the bloody sink and turned on the warm water. “Boy to think a kid from my very own bloodline would give up so easily.” He began to remember back, ‘Daddy are you sure its ok? Mommy has been gone a long time and i dont want to leave the house.’ Dave looked at his son Peter. ‘Its alright sport. Have you seen where i work yet?” Peter shook his head eyes full of wonder. ‘I bet your going to like it then!’ Dave stopped remembering. “Well that was half true.” He laughed as he started washing his hands.


“you’ll be as good as new soon there champ.” he looked behind him at the corpse and smiled warmly. “I promise.”


Dave woke up and yelled. He dident yell that loud cus of his quick thinking knowing Twilight was asleep. “H-h-how c-could i have been t-t-that h-heartless?” he mumbled as tears started rolling down his face. “My own son...” He sat there for the longest time just crying.

one problem taken care of

Dave sat up the rest of the night shivering at the thought of his nightmare. “It was just a nightmare, right? Not even i could have been that heartless.” He tryed to reassure himself. When he calmed down enough he went back to bed The next morning had bured his eyes a bit when he woke up. “Argh, too bright...” He got up slowly and walked over to the door. Spike popped his head out from the kitchen. “So you dont want anything this morning?” Dave turned his head and shook it. “Ya i feel as tho i dont have a stomach right now...” He opened the door and took a step outside.


“Well hey there sugarcube.” Applejack’s sudden words almost made Dave jump. “Oh hi Applejack.” She smiled at him and walked into the library. Dave walked around town trying to have a normal day but of course it was never normal. “You again!” Dave turned to a very annoyed Discord. “Oh its just you.” Discord’s eye twitched. “Im here for pay-back!” Dave giggled as the other ponys around them started running. “You are annoying.” Dave looked surprised at his own words. Discord looked up then back at Dave. “Duck.”


Dave jumped back as a huge duck dropped out of the sky almost landing on him. Discord had started laughing but stopped as soon as something grabbed his right arm. Horror came into his eyes as he saw a giant pair of dark jaws had clamped onto his arm. Dave walked out from behind the huge duck his eyes pitch black. “Now heres what is going to happen ‘Discord’, your going to scream and holler in pure pain and horror while i slowly rip you to pieces.” He grinned as the jaws tore off Discords arm.


“ahh ahh AHHHH!” Discord yelled in as Dave sed pure pain and horror. He tryed to snap his fingers on the other hand to escape but a pair of jaws had clamped onto that had as well. “Your not going anywhere.” Dave laughed insanely as the jaws ripped off that arm as well. Again he had screamed but had no possible escape. Darkness held him in place as dave charged up a bolt of dark lightning. “S-stop! i’ll never be bad again just stop!” Dave looked up at him with a grin. “Nope.” Discord was not visible when the dark lightning had hit him. Dave tryed his best to keep the lightning from hitting any buildings.


When it had stopped Discord was gone and all that was left was a pile of ash. Dave looked on in horror. “W-what did i just do?” He sighed calming down. “I must have lost it for a moment.” He walked over to the pile of ash and dug a hole then scooped the ash into it. He refilled the hole and started walking again as if nothing happened. “There’s another problem taken care of i suppose.” He sighed. He walked into sugar-cube corner and looked up.


“Pinkly i need a cupcake bigger then my head.” Pinky smiled. “Sorry we dont have any of those. But i can get you a cake that looks like a cupcake!” She bounced happily into the back and Dave took a seat. “So hows life treating you?” She called from the back. Dave sighed. “Well i just evaporated Discord.” silence......

“......Hello?” He looked worried. “Pinky are you ok?” She walked back with a huge cake. “WE NEED TO THROW A PARTY! DICORD IS GONE FOREVER!” She cheered and Dave almost fell out of his chair form the sudden yelling form Pinky. “My ears....” He slammed his head on the table.

Defender of Equestria

Dave had only been here a few weeks and everyone was already having a party in his name. When Pinky spread the word it dident take long for it to get to the Princess who had decided to give him a award or something but thats not the crazy part, the party being held for him spread as far as Manehatten. No one told him if it went farther or not but he guessed it did. As always he was sitting by one of the meany punch bowls just watching the endless party go on. “Hey Dave.” Dave turned his head to Applejack and smiled. “Hey Applejack. Whats up?” She smiled and tossed his a rather HUGE apple. “Biggest apple this year. Hope you enjoy it.” He nodded at her as she walked back into the crowed.


Dave studied the apple and took a bite. “......My mouth just exploded with pure happiness.” He ate it slowly savoring every last bite. When he finished it he was upset, so to take his mind off of it he went to mingle with the crowd. He met the rest of the Apple family and somehow got a hug out of Rainbow Dash. He walked around some more until he saw Dipsy by a randomly placed muffin cart. He smiled and walked over to where she was and for a moment watched as she scanned the muffin cart. “Dang! No blue-berry again!” She pouted and almost walked into Dave. “AH!” She jumped back in surprise as a grin appeared on Dave’s face. “oh come on I can’t be THAT scary.” He teased as she recovered. “You big meany! I’ll get you for that!” Dipsy laughed and hugged him. “I havent seen you for a couple of days. How are you?”


Dave returned the hug. “Well i destroyed one of the most powerful beings in the world and am now having a world wide party in my honer. So not much.” They both laughed. “Im surprised these muffin carts don’t have any blue-berry.” Dave looked at the rather large muffin cart. “I know, iv looked at 5 of them and havent found a single one...” Dave sighed. “Well Pinky is baking for half the world, she must have forgotten.” Suddenly the got louder as Pinky Piecame rushing threw with random party objects. Dave had side-stepped another tackle and helped her up. “You ok Pinky?” She nodded happily. “So Dave how are you liking YOUR party?” She giggled and Dave laughed. “Its amazing how you do it Pinky.” Pinky jumped up and down. “Anyway i have to get back to spreading party cheer!” She zoomed out into the crowd. Dave sighed happily then noticed something was on his back. It was a rather large blue-berry muffin. “......You smart pink ball of hyper.” He giggled to himself then with magic held up the muffin. “Hey Dipsy i found a blue-berry muffin.” Dipsy turned to him with a wide grin. “OH MY GOSH YOU FOUND ONE!” She tackle hugged him and kissed him again but this time on the lips. It lasted a few seconds but seemed like forever. She got off of him her face almost as red as his. “S-sorry a-about that i-i...” Dave looked at her. “I-its ok, here.” He gave her the muffin.


“So um im going to go see what Celestia has planned. Talk with you later?” She looked up at him with those adorable eyes. “Come by my place later.” This made both of them blush even more. “O-ok then, see ya.” He began to walk away towards the center of town. “Man i sure do have my head in the clouds...” He smiled a small bit at the pun. He soon saw princess Celestia talking with Twilight and The Mayor. “There he is now!” Twilight noticed him walking over to them. Celestia turned towards him with a sweet smile. “The hero has come and fashionably late as well.” Dave shrugged. “I guess so, I don’t think what I did was very heroic.” He almost shivered at the memory. Even tho Discord was evil the terror in his eyes where all he saw. “Oh don’t be so modest.” Celestia laughed then turned and started walking up a stage. “Come on, i’ll get everypony ready.” When she made it to the top she shot out what looked like a fire-work up into the sky witch made everypony turn towards her. “Listen up everypony please!” She spoke into that mega-phone thing. “We are here today to celebrate something wonderful, the end of Discord!” Everypony cheered. “We will not have to ever worry about him ever again and because of one pony that was not afraid to stand up and face him!”


Again everypony cheered. Twilight patted Dave on the back. “You’ll be fine.” She smiled. Dave nodded and looked back up at Celestia. “Now we gather here to give him something back for going threw so much for us! The title of ‘Defender of Equestria’!” The crowd as they say ‘went wild!’. Dave walked up the stage and again everypony cheered as loud as they could. Celestia turned to him and with her magic lifted a golden medal off of the podium and over in front of her. Dave had stopped mid range of the princess and stood tall. She flouted the medal over to him and placed it around his neck. The medal wasint very heavy but still had some weight to it. Everypony cheered louder then they did before. Dave looked around the crowd. He made them all feel so safe and protected, he dident want to let them down. Celestia bowed her head to him and he did the same. Dave had walked off of the stage and back down to where Twilight was sitting. “You did grate for getting a reward for the first time.” Dave looked over at her. “That wasint the first time i got a reward.” She tilted her head at him. “Id rather not talk about it right now. I’ll tell you later.” She smiled and nodded as he walked off.


He had been wondering around until dawn witch dident kill the party. He finally found what he was looking for. He walked up to the door of Dipsy Doo’s house and kocked on the door. “Come in!” She called as Dave walked in. “Hi Dipsy.” He smiled at her. “Hey Dave.” He closed the door behind him. “So you wanted me to come ov-” She was suddenly in front of him with a red face and grin. “Um....Hi?” She kissed him flying backwards as if to drag him with her. ‘I think i know where this is going....’ Dave thought as they entered the back room.

(nightmare) the truth

The group of scientist entered the room not knowing what to expect but kept up there guards. “S-so what do you think Dave want’s?” One of the younger ones whispered. “He more or less wants to fire us.” Everyone tensed up as they looked at the one leaning up agents the metal wall. “But the only thing i hope is that he doisn’t REALLY fire us....” Everyone but him started to panic a bit when the wall on the far side opened. Where it had split bullet-proof glass replaced it. Dave was sitting the room writing something down, he finally got up and looked at all of them. “Gentlemen, you are all here because of one thing, you are all being fired.” He sighed as if he was dissapointed. “It was a shame really. You all had a wonderful job here,” He looked over at a red button with a wild grin. “No! You cant do that we all have families!” Dave nodded. “Yes and they were all devastated to hear about that horrible explosion that killed half of my staff.”


Dave sat down in his chair. “They just got out of the morning part and are all going on with there lives.” More and more of the scientists started to panic except the man leaning on the wall. “Argh how did I know you had this planned and why diden’t I stop it?” He face-palmed. “Because no one,” He pressed the button and fire flooded the room. “Opposes me.” He laughed as the fire ate away at the mens skin. The crackling and pealing was very loud but not as loud at there screams. “Oh quiet its just a bit of heat.” He laughed un-controllably. Someone’s hand hit the glass and Dave looked up. “B-brother....You are a MONSTER.” The man sed before falling over dead. “Ya ya i heard it all before.” He giggled as the screams subsided.



Dave woke up in a cold sweat and a gasp. He looked around to see where he was then remembered he stayed at Dipsy’s house. He looked down and to his side to see her laying there sleeping like a rock. “Oh ya....Now i remember.” He smiled to himself as he got out of the bed without waking her up. “Right, breakfast.” He walked to the kitchen area and looked around in the frig for something to whip up for the both of them. What he saw half surprised him. “Muffins.....Wonderful.” He laughed and took out four, two for him, two for her. He walked over to the table in the kitchen and took a seat. He took a bite of one. “These are good.” He laughed taking another bite. After about 20 minutes he heard Dipsy get up and saw her walk up into the kitchen. She looked surprised. “Oh! You scared me Dave. I thought you left already.” He smiled. “I wouldent do that.” She blushed a bit and smiled walking over to the table with her eyes crossed again. “So by the sounds of it the party is yet to end.” He turned his head slightly to look out the window. Dipsy nodded taking a bite of one of the muffins on the table.


“I don’t know how long its going to last but at least i get some time off.” She laughed and Dave smiled. He finished his muffins and looked at Dipsy finish hers. “So where shale we go today.” He smiled at her lovingly. “Well we could go see what everyone in town is doing.” Dipsy got up and started walk towards the door. He got up and followed with a ever growing sense of dread. “Uh hey Dipsy do you have alcohol here?” She looked at him. “Ya why? You want to go out drinking?” He shook his head. “No i just wanted to know.” She gave him a confused look then opened the door. “Hey look its Derpy Hooves!” One very drunk looking pony pointed his hoof at her as the other drunk ponys around him started laughing. Dipsy tensed up. “So thats why you wanted to know.” She turned to Dave only to see his gaze of doom pointing at the pony that spoke first. “Dave please calm down its ok really they are just drunk.” Dave shook his head. “Not just drunk but stupid.” He walked past her and over to the ponys laughing. The main one looked at him. “Hey there bud! Did you see what i did there?” He giggled a bit but Dave just stared at him. “Yes, and your going to apologize to Dipsy.” The stallion looked at him. “And er going to make meh?” Dave nodded his horn started glowing a dark color. “Oh jeez!” He flinched. “S-sorry Miss Dipsy!” The whole gathering ran away and Dave sighed. “Sorry about that Dipsy i need to do th-” He turned and got a hug. “Thanks Dave.” He returned the hug. “No problem.” They had then began walking around town seeing how the party was going. Pinky was asleep on top of town hall with Rainbow Dash. Dave guessed she flew up there to get Pinky down but fell asleep herself. “Well thats safe.” Dave giggled a bit and with his magic got them down somehow without waking them up. Dipsy had decided to go talk with some friends and sed bye to Dave. “See later.” He sed with a blush as she flew off.


Dave had wondered around until he found himself in front of the library. “I might as well visit Twilight if she’s even in.” He walked up to the door and knocked. Spike answered the door and smiled. “Hey Dave! i havent seen you in forever! Twi’s out right now but you can come in.” Dave smiled and walked in. He took a seat by the table in the middle of the library. “So how have you been Dave?” Spike sat at the other end of the table. “Just peachy.” He laughed. “And you?” Spike shrugged. “Nothing seems to different other then i don’t have to worry about Discord anymore.” He smiled at Dave. “Nice work.” Dave lost his smiled. “I don’t feel as tho i did a nice job.” Spike seemed to be the only one to listen to him when he sed that and gave him a concerned look. “What do you mean?” Dave sighed. “Well before i got here i was a scientist in a lab. But i wasint a......pony.” He explained everything from the point of the portal exploding. “So you were something called a ‘human’? But you look like a pony.” Dave nodded and looked at himself. “I don’t know how that happened. But recently iv been remembering things from my past that im not proud of, it has affected my behavior when i become angry or very sad. When Discord attacked me was the day i had a nightmare about my past.” He then started describing how he beat Discord. “W-what? Y-you tore off his arms?” Spike got a terrified look on his face. Dave was on the verge of tears. “You see why it was so hard for me to accept this?” He looked down at the medal. “I just dont know what to do Spike, im scared of myself. I dont want to hurt anypony.” Spike tryed to calm himself down but failed. Dave got up. “I see i have made you scared of me... I’ll leave.” Spike couldent get the words out fast enough to stop Dave. Dave turned and looked at him. “Sorry Spike.” He then continued out.

Dave got worried about Spike but decided not to go back in case he might panic. He knew Spike would crack and tell Twilight, well at least someone other then Spike would know. For a while everything seemed normal until pony’s started telling him Twilight wanted to see him. He began looking for her to see what she wanted but knew what was coming. He walked back to the library and knocked on the door. Spike opened it slowly and jumped back a few feet when he saw it was Dave. “Holy Celestia!” He yelled as he landed. Dave looked at him worried. “Um Twilight was looking for me?” Spike nodded sweat dripping off his face. Dave sighed. “Do you know where she is?” Spike shook his head. ‘Its as if he scared to say something that could make me snap...’ Dave sighed and turned around. “I’ll just wait out here.” He closed the door and sat down.


For some reason the party was still going and this surprised Dave. ‘how long is this going to last?’ His thoughts were cut short when a hoof tapped his shoulder. “Dave? You ok?” He turned and looked into Twilights worried eyes. “I suppose so. So why did you want to see me?” She looked around. “Spike told me everything” ‘Little bugger...’ “and I just wanted to make sure you were all right.” He nodded and smiled. “I’ll be fine Twi. That was my past and I will never bring it back in full swing. I promi” He never finished as a very drunk Rainbow Dash bumped into him. “Hey buddy! *HIC* W-watch where your” He got up and looked at her. “Oh its you the smarty guy.” Dave in all of his time here never knew Dash drank. “Dash calm down.” He acted calm but was getting steamed. “Or whats? You guna tell me about skool?” Dave almost giggled but stopped himself. He dident have a chance to talk before she started ranting again. “ Ya know whay you look like some sorta evil guy with that look you give some pony’s. Like you want to eat them or something.” Dave’s eye twitched and Twilight was trying to calm down Dash. “It’s like you sometimes want to.....um..... You look like a doctor! But not one of thous nice ones that help ya but the ones that like to see how stuff works!”

*snap*

Dave’s eyes started getting smaller and a wild grin came across his face. “You know something? I always wondered about how you fly.” She looked confused. “With those wings don’t look any bigger then birds yet you still fly.” She shook her head. “You don’t know nothing! You just thinkin you smart!” By this time the main six had gathered around them, Twilight looked at Dave in horror as his eyes almost looked like dots. “Oh I know my dear and thats why i want to... ‘Pick’ your brain. To find out why.” He started looking a bit gray. “Oh? u wat my help?” Dave nodded. “Oh yes! You would be oh so helpful.” Twilight couldent say a word. “Oh those to become better friends every time i see them. Even with Dash drunk! How about that?” Rarity and the others giggled except Twilight. Spike came outside to see what was going on and almost panicked when he saw Twilight so frozen. “Oh no!” He ran over and leaped over the small gathering and almost on top of Dave’s head but a dark glow surrounded him and he flouted in front of Dave. “Ah Spike nice to see you. I was just about to ask you to come out.” Spike started yelling when he flouted over to Twilight her magic taking him. “Don’t you dare hurt them!” She yelled. Dave looked hurt.


“Why Twilight! What would make you think that?” His grin widened. At this point the others where getting scared. “Twi, whats goin on?” Applejack looked at Twilight with worry. Dave took no notice to her. “I just wanted to play a ‘game’.” He giggled insanely. “NO! I wont let you hurt them! I know what you want to do!” Dave rolled his eyes. “Oh ok you got me. Hey Dash you still want to give me a hoof?” Dash was hovering there think when Twilight spoke again. “No Dash! It’s a trap!” Dash waved her hoof at Twi. “Im not guna do it anyway! He is to stupid to find out by himself so i’ll let him suffer.” Dave’s eye twitched. “He’s got so much smarts he can even think this threw! I mean look at him! He should be”

*WHACK*

Dash went flying over and hit a tree. Dave sighed and turned back around. “That was hurtful ya know. Oh well.” Everyone looked stunned. “D-did you just....Kick Dash?” Fluttershy had passed out and Applejack looked pissed. “What do ya think your doing!? She’s ya friend!” Dave looked over at the earth pony. “Hopefully that should have ended it. She was annoying.” Applejack got ready to hit him when he dissapered laughing like a mad man. “Where’d he go?” She looked around in rage. Twilight was looking over Rainbow and sighed. “Shes ok. He missed her jaw by a bit.” Rarity was helping Fluttershy up. “I dont know dear....But one things for sure...” She looked up at the sky. “We have to stop him...”

oh gods why?!

Dave was out in the middle of the Everfree forest. “What a wonderful place! I smell blood and sadness and is that a lack of friendship I smell? Ah a wonderful place!” He saw some timber wolves sitting around being lazy. “Wolves made out of wood?” He grinned and approached them. One looked up and him and growled but was shut up instantly when his dark magic surrounded them. “Aww the little pups think they have a chance! Cute.” Trees around the area broke down and started forming make-shift lab tables and tools. “Now then, lets get to ‘work’.”


Twilight and the others looked all around town for the insane Dave but couldent find him. “Well thats somewhat a relief. Think hes in the Ever free?” The others nodded. “S-so what do we do? Leave him alone?” Fluttershy was shaking almost uncontrollably. “No. We need t ‘ try an help him.” Applejack had calmed down from when they last met. Twi looked around the group. “AJ’s right we need to help him anyway we can.” She turned to the Ever free. “Lets go.”


“Snip, stab, rip, cut, gut, burn. Bunny bunny on the table how could you be so cute?” The horrified rabbit was tied to the table with no hope of escape. “You look like a bunny i know........Angle?” Angle nodded franticly think there was a chance to get out of here! “Oh well hey there Angle. Long time no see.” He laughed as a small knife flouted over and in front of Dave. “Well it was nice knowing you.” Angle watched in horror as the knife went slowly into his stomach. “Oh it will only hurt for 2-3 minutes or so.” Blood started spiting out from the slowly opening wound. “Snip, stab, rip, cut, gut, burn.” He giggled and made it a fun tune. After about 10-20 minutes Angle stopped moving and most of his guts were gone. “I must have been a ‘bit’ off. But your going to a better place now.” Dave laughed then guts hung around his neck like a necklace.


Twilight was fearlessly leading the group of five threw the woods. Fluttershy was at the back jumping at every noise. She suddenly stopped tears beginning to fill her eyes. “Shy? Whats wrong dear?” Rarity looked at her. “S-s-something r-r-really b-bad happened.” Rarity looked shocked. “What? what happened?” Shy shook her head. “I-i dont know...” Twilight looked back at them. “Come on guys were getting close!” They nodded and kept going. Soon they found themselves over looking a large field with corpses of random animals scattered everywhere. Shy screamed very loud. Rarity covered her mouth quickly. “Oh please do come in! Dont be ‘Shy’!” A insane laughter filled the field. A rabbit was running away from a blood covered cabin. Shy bolted down to it and scooped it up. “Oh dont worry sweety I wont let him hurt you...” The rabbit was yanked out of her hooves. “Ah so thats where you went you naughty rabbit!” It let out a high pitch yell as it flew down into the cabin. Shy was running after the rabbit with the others following. When they entered Fluttershy was banging agents a wall that wasint there. “NO! PLEASE DONT HURT HER! PLEASE!” She was screaming tears rolling down her face. “Oh Shy you know i cant do that. Its for the sake of science!” Dave was facing a wooden table and was cutting something making a LOT of noise. “Dave! Stop this! This isent you!” He turned slightly and grinned, his face covered in blood.


“then what am I right now? Am I not me? Or am I you? Maby im god!” He giggled. “Experimenting with life and all!” Shy was looking like she was about to destroy the wall. “STOP PLEASE!” She screamed at him and he grinned. “Almost done. In the mean time look at the small project over on the table over there.” Shy and Twi looked over at a table to the right to see a small stuffed bunny with its name carved in the bottom. “Angle...”
