Tales of Greenhorn-117: The Insurrection and The Covenant
Chapter 16: Planned Texts 1
Previous ChapterThis is a scene that is similar to the halo 4 level midnight, right where the master chief and the didact face off on the light brigde. However the composing beam has not been activated yet. I also want to add in this that I was very unhappy with Cortana's fate in Halo 4....

“Come reclaimers. Have your resolution….”
All of us turned to the deep, echoing voice behind us. Sombra was there with sinister grin.
Right when we raised our weapons to fire at him……
(This is the part where blast comes and nearly kill everyone)
……my visor took most of the hit yet I felt the energy burn right though it.
That blast…I didn’t need to look at my armor to know that it was charred and still burning. My shield system was gone for good as the red warning lights continued to flash. Thought my cracked visor, I saw Sombra stalking forward, charging up his horn again.
The rest of us lay twitching on the light bridge. I use all my strength to get up on one knee, and then the other. Weakly, I pull out a covenant energy sword.
“Come Pegasus…have your battle.” Sombra hissed, levitating out a metal crystallion sword of his own.
“I’m ready, bastard! How about you?”
In rage I charged at him, the energy sword giving off a faint mist. He blocked my first strike and my following strike. He kept blocking whatever I threw at him. But I could see an expression of irritation on his face; I was pushing him away from my helpless friends. I wasn’t going to let him place another hoof on them.
My anger kept fuelling me to do more attacks, to the point I was able to land some hits on Sombra. Slashing at his coat and hacking away his armor, it was an endless process. Sombra backed further away when I scarred his face.
“Grr…You impress me reclaimer…” Sombra stated, not bothering to wipe away the blood oozing out of the glowing scar I gave him.
I go in for final lunge, but Sombra teleports himself behind me. Not realizing it instantly, he reached for my head with one clawed hoof, covering my visor. Then with the other hoof, he impaled his sword right through my chest.
I didn’t even gasp have time to gasp for air. The sword started to burn my skin and melt part of my armor. Sweat and tears rolled down my paling face.
Sombra’s claws still blinded my vision until he threw me onto the surface of the light bridge. I was so weakened…I couldn’t move or see things clearly. All that occupied my mind was an intense pain within me and a lot of blood – my blood - leaking onto the light bridge’s transparent surface.
“Ponykind was never meant to claim the mantle for them; still you fail once more…” Sombra turned me over and stomped his hoof on my helmets visor, creating a cracked hole in the center and putting me into a half-conscious state.
He then strode casually over to my friends, who were still unconscious, ready to bring a painful end to them as well
I thought it was all over then. We failed the princesses….everypony….Halsey, Mendez, Keyes, Celestia, everyone on Sigma Clopodia…we even failed the Librarian.
This…is never the end…Reclaimer…this is a new metaphase…in book known as history… the librarian’s voice hissed into my head as her pony avatar flickered on my screen.
I wanted to respond…but I too weak to even think.
Right before I pass out completely, I feel a hoof, both warm and cold to the touch placed on my head.
And first I thought I was truly dead. Then a long white flash hits me in my eyes, and if feel the pain receding as my consciousness returns. I try to take a breath of air but it doesn’t come. So I tore off my damaged helmet, gasping for real air.
That when I see Cadence, who emerged out of nowhere; She looked exactly the same as before, but now…she wasn’t transparent or small; she was a living and breathing pony, standing as tall as Celestia.
“There’s my girl.” Cadence winked, helping me up. I was too tired to ask how she had come back. But I glad she did
Didact spun around and saw both of us. “You! So the Composer can enable the beings of digital realm to become organics…but that was thought to be impossible.”
The now-organic Cadence stepped in front of me, her large white eyes with new ocean blue irises staring hard into the didact’s.
“In that case, Sombra, you won’t mind I returned the same favor you made to the crystal ponies.” She shot back.
“Your compassion for ponykind and its allies is misplaced! They are not to be the reclaimers of the mantle!” Sombra roared, charging up his horn again.
Cadence gave a keep low chuckle and charged up her own horn. “I’m not doing this for your mantle….”
Cadence used the energy from the light bridge and twisted it into several crystal belts that begun to wrap Sombra’s snout, hooves, horn, and tail. He was struggling with all his might, but nothing could break the crystal belts.
“Hurry, Destiny! The composer is nearly activated!” Cadence urged gesturing to the composing pillar, now glowing intensely under the force field. Past the force field, I could see Sigma Clopodia; my only home left. I wasn't going to let another home fall.
We rushed past Sobrma and Cadence begun healing everypony. In less than thirty seconds, everypony was back on their feet.
“Argh…what the bloody hay just happen?” Blades wondered. Meanwhile, Mudd woke in Cadence’s arms and entered a deep but silent embrace.
“Wooo…I am getting too young for this…hey, who’s the new princess?” High Hopes asked, gesturing to Cadence.
“There no time to waste guys!” I hollered, waving my arms frantically “The composer’s power about to strike Sigma Clopodia!”
“Can’t hear you! My ear is bleeding…ow…ow…ow…” Silverblitz whined. His ear was in fact really bleeding. November hastily wrapped a bandage around it.
“High Hopes! Do you still have them?” Mudd asked.
“The Elements of Harmony? Sure!” High Hopes stated then her eyes caught sight of the didact wresting with the crystal belts “Hey what’s King Sombrero-”
“Solomon, High Hopes” Mudd stated.
“No…Sombra you two…” Cadence informed
“GUYS! WE DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!” I wailed, swinging my arms.
High Hopes dug into her hair and started to pull out the golden-wrist bands one by one. “I kept these souvenirs in my hair while we were captured by the covenant, just in case.”
Ignoring the fact that a few tiny hairs clinging to the elements, we wrapped them onto our wrists. All six of us ponies and one alicorn faced the composing beam, aimed in the blackness of space above at Sigma Clopodia.
But What if we were too late to stop it? What if only some were saved? What-
“Destiny! NOW!” Cadence screamed.
The composer stared to glow more and more….and so did our elements.
VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
The composing pillar glowed to its brightest extent intensely before the deadly red orange beam was launched at Sigma Clopodia.
And trailing right behind it at a faster speed was our pure white beam of harmony.

(they succeeded in repelling the composing beam away from Sigma Clopodia)

DIDACTS SHIP
All of our team collapsed on the ground, knowing we had done our duty once the composing pillar ran out of energy and stopped glowing. Cadence brushed my mane, feeling proud for all of us.
At the same time Sombra broke his horn and snout free of two of Cadence’s crystal belts “I’m not done yet reclaimers!” he shouted.
That got us all alerted. Only this time Blades and Silverblitz were ready, using their magic to throw up a barrier around the seven us. To reinforce the shield from Sombra's blast November activated his regeneration-field device.
A laser erupted from Sombra’s horn only to deflect in all sorts of directions when coming into contact with our shield.
After signaling me to take the nuke and fly to the other side of the light bridge November yelled from behind the shield “There is no failure in friendship, Sombra!”
“I ask why, incompetent!” Sombra hissed sarcastically
As flew around the bridge, unnoticed, my friend gave him the true answers:
“When you have friends, you don’t lose anything.” November replied.
“You’ll always be cared for.” Cadence added.
“Honor is never is short supply” Mudd proclaimed.
“They accept us for who we are” High Hopes retorted
“They understand your fears and weaknesses…” Blades hissed
“And Somepony will watch your back...like you should have right now.” Silverblitz reminded.
Sombra spun around and saw Destiny on the other side of the light bridge with the nuke in her hooves, primed. Sombra was silenced and powerless again as Cadence wrapped a crystal belt around his snout and horn.
Destiny trotted forward saying “The crystal ponies were meant to die with their advancements, and let their artifacts be reclaimed. It’s because they had no friends. Not when the flood came, not when the halo fired, and not when they became your machine army. But the truth is that the mantle of responsibility belongs to every species, not one alone.”
Sombra’s telepathy entered Destiny’s mind Fool! Look at yourself! Because crystal ponies once held the mantle, you are no better than me! I am stronger, faster, and fear nothing! I am immortal! And you will one day die, as a weakling…
“Don’t you know the GREENHORN-II mantra, Sombra? We. Never. Die.” I uttered back. “We just become memories…”
I then tossed the primed nuke over the light bridge, and it descended into the vortex of swirling energy. Sombra let out a muffled scream and snarls, trying to break free of his chains to the light bridge. Deep down, I didn’t need my mind reading power to tell that he wasn’t to ready face the same thing which he dealt to others: death.
Cadence teleported I to right beside her position, while across the bridge a trapped crystallion didiact hollowed in fear. I was standing with Silverblitz, High Hopes, November Flare, Mudd Sparkle, and Blades, smiling in victory.
“So…We’re not…teleporting away to the Winter?” I asked.
“No, but I have a better idea. Ever ridden out of an explosion?” Cadence asked, using the light bridge energy to create and impregnable sphere around my team.
Before I could ask what the hell she was thinking, an ear-piercing boom rocked everypony’s body around Cadence’s sphere.
The next thing we knew was that we were shot into space.
