                                                                Chapter 3

                The past

So Princess Cadance begins to tell Bleeding Heart the story of her past, and the secret she been hiding from everypony including Shining Armour.

''let's see, were do i begin''. says Cadance

''It all started in my teenage years when i was living in Marerogate, but that's not were the story begins.''

The story starts in Canterlot, were we join Princess Celestia is in her royal chambers. Rubbing her temples with her hooves.

''This is the 8th guard this week''. say's Celestia

''I can't believe it, my own niece was able to take out so many guards. what is with that girl. looks like i have to go get her myself.

''I would strongly be against that your majesty''. says her royal advisor.

''And why would you say that blue mane''.

''Because princess, if you leave. The Minators and Griffins could easly invade us, and over throw the Canterlot castle. And you would no longer rule over equestria.''

''Then what would you suggest, royal advisor''.

''why not send the captain of the royal guard''

''No, i will not send Shooting Star. He's not ready for that kinda of mission''

''Princess, i know he got injured, but you need to realize 3 things. 1. He's not your son. 2. He's a grown stallion, and 3 You need to let go of this love you have for him, he told you, your like a mother to him.  Sorry princess for being so harsh.''

''Very well then, tell him i have a mission for him''.

So Blue Mane proceeds to head to the training area, were he sees Shooting Star, the captain of the royal guard.

''Shooting Star, sir it's good to see you again''.

Shooting Star is a Stallion Unicorn, with a blue coat and green mane with light blue eyes.

''Ah, blue mane. How are you doing today''?

''I'm fine star, princess Celestia has a mission for you''.

''And, What is the mission''.

''You see Star, Princess Celestia wants you to go to Marerogate. and bring her niece Cadance here to canterlot.''

''Sound like an easy mission, tell her i'll do it. and i'll be bringing my two commanders''.

''Will do Star, and good luck''.

So Shooting Star, goes to another training area where he meets his two commanders. Commander Steel Wing, a silver Pegasus with a red mane and tail, and commander Quake Sheild Breaker, a green Earth Pony with a black and blue mane and tail.

''My friends, i'm glade to see you guy's again. How are you two doing''.

''Hey star, me and Quake here were just about to come get you. To see if you wanted to get a bite to eat.''

''Yeah man, Steel here say's he can eat more hay fries then me. I'd like to see that happen.

''Hm'', Shooting Star smiles

''A healthy competition between friends. But that can wait Steel, Quake ,we have a mission from the princess. She wants us to go to Marerogate, and bring her niece Cadance here to canterlot''.

''That sounds raither easy Star.''

''Yeah Steel, that does sound to easy. Star are sure you the princess didn't ad anything else.''

''No my friends, Celestia just wants us to go to Marerogate. And bring Cadance back here, that's all she said''.

So the three head to the train station, to take a train to Marerogate. They get there without a hitch, and spent three hours looking for Cadance's home.

''You know, i should have known that this was the only pink house in Marerogate''. Says Shooting Star

''Very well, let's talk to her. And maybe she might not put up a fight.''

''Are you sure about Star''? says Steel Wing

''Yeah'' says Quake  

''Wing is right, didn't you hear what happened to the other 8 guards that got distroyed, trying to get her to come to Canterlot".

''Wing, Quake'' says Shooting Star

''I'm sure if we approach in a calm and professional way, maybe she won't put up a fight. If we treat her rough, she will fight. but, if we calmly talk to her like the mare she is. Maybe she will come with us voluntarily. Relax my friends what's the worse that could happen''.

So Shooting Star approaches the door, and knocks on the door.

''Knock, Knock, knock''

The door opes only alittle bit eough for him to see her eye, he smiles and say's.

''Hello Cadance, i'm Shooting Star and i was woundering..

The door slams in his face.

SLAM!!

''You know, even i didn't see that coming''.

He hears a voice on the other side of the door.

''Go away''

''Cadance, what wrong. I'm just hear to talk''.

''Go away''

'' please Cadance, open the door so i can talk to you. I'm sure what ever is bothering you, we can work this out like adults.''

the door starts to open, Shooting Star turns to look at his friends and say's.

''See, i told you talking to her in a calm professional way, would get her to open the door and talk to us''.

Both Quake and Wing point there hooves

''What are you two pointing at?''

He turns around only to see Cadance with a frying pan to Smack him in the face.

''I SAID, LEAVE ME ALONE''

WACK!!!

Dazed and confused Shooting Star was only able to mutter

''Twinkle Twinkle..little star''

Shooting Star meets the floor

THUD!!!

Cadance's walks Back into her home, slams and locks the door.

Later, Shooting Star is holding an ice pack on his head eating with his friends.

''You know'' Star says

''I don't know what hurts more, my head or my pride''.

''Well that didn't work what do you think Quake''

''Ha, yeah i mean did you honestly think talking to her would work.''

The two keep laughing

'' You two shut up right now, i don't see you two kuckle head coming up with any better ideas''.

Just then, one of the waitress stopped to talk to them and say's.

''Excuse me, i was just listening to your conversation, and i heard Cadance's name. Are you here to take her back to Canterlot''.

''Why yes, yes we are'' says Star

Then she clings to Stars leg, crying and say's

''Please, please take her away shes nothing but a annyonce''

''What are you talking about''? asks Wing

''She was in here yesterday, distroyed my place because i didn't cook her food right. So i called the Marerogate guards but then it got worse, more guards came but she laid waste to all 16 of them. And then the Canterlot guards came, and she

leved them to please help us''.

Staring at Star with her pupple dog eyes

''Fine, i'll talk to her''. says Star

So the next day shooting Star tires talking to her again, but week after week is the same thing happens. untill one night.

''You know Star, i can't do this anymore me and Quake are going to hit the bars. come on Quake'' says Wing

''Yeah man'' says Quake

''We'll see you back at the hotel, Star''.

''Fine, do what you guy's want, but i'm not giving up''.

He walks up to the door.

''Cadance'' Says Star

''Look, at least hear me out. Yes your aunt sent us but please listen to me i beg you. I'm not going to force you to come with us but could you aleast..

he gets interrupted by Cadance opening the door

'' Why don't you leave me alone'' says Cadance

''Do you have any idea what it's like to be alone, my parents died 3 months ago. And the Celestia wants me to come live with her in Canterlot. Who died and made her queen of my life.''

''No one''

''Exactly!!, you came here thinking. I'll just come peacefuly with you to Canterlot, well your wrong buddy i want to be alone''

Shooting Star gets alittle mad

''Yes, i do know what it's like to be alone''

''Oh really, i don't think you do. Mister my parents are pround i'm a guard of....

She get interrupted. Shooting star snaps.

''You had parents, WHERE I HAD NONE, WHEN I WAS A LITTLE COALT''.

Cadance with a shocked look on her face

Tears start to roll down his face

''When i was a little coalt, i had to fend for myself. I had no parents. No one to take care of me. When i got older, i joined the royal guard. Where i met my friends. later i earned the title captain of the royal guard. I fought so hard to get where i'm at. Cadance please, don't give up. because you never know you could rule your kingdom someday''.

Cadance changing her mood

''I'm sorry, i didn't know''

Sniff

''It's ok Cadance, don't worry about it''.

So in the months that follow Cadance and Shooting started to talk and get to know each other, they went out to eat. caught a movie and even went star gazing. You can say, it took awhile for her to trust him.

So one night, when he walks her home.

''I had fun tonight Star, thank you''

''Your welcome Cadance''

just as he was about to leave, she grabbed his hoove

''Um, i was woundering if you could stay here, for alittle bit''.

''Ok, i'll do that''

So they sit and watch T.V., Later Cadance falls asleep, and later unable to keep his eyes open. Shooting Star falls victim to sandmane.

The next mroning, shooting star wakes up to find that him and Cadance have fallen asleep on her couch. covered in a blanket.

''uh-oh, well good thing is, Celestia is not here. If she saw this she would kill me on the spot''.

''No, worse thing she could do is banish you to the moon''.

Shooting star turns around, and looks in terror as he sees Steel Wing. Smiling and waving.

''Hhhhhiiiiiiiiii!!!'' says Steel Wing
