Emerald Charmer was feeling good on this morning. He started his morning off with a quick stretch in bed, and then a forty four minute hot shower. Washing away the effects of sleep from his gray coloured body, his bed head ridden emerald green mane washed too.. After his shower he made coffee, and went outside and got the mail from his mail box. In the pile of credit card and health insurance junk mail, he noticed a letter. It had his address hoof written upon it. He noticed the return address was in Canterlot. He quickly opened it. Inside the envelope was hoof written letter from Princess Luna. His new friend.

He and Luna had met through Twilight Sparkle. They met at a party hosted by Pinkie Pie, another friend of Twilight. Emerald was shy by nature. Essentially a male Fluttershy, as he was called by Rainbow Dash. At the party hosted at Twilight's library, he had sat alone either sipping at a drink or watching the mares at the party dance. He had been the only stallion at the party. It had made him incredibly uncomfortable, Twilight was the first to take notice. With knowledge of his talents and publications as an author of the fictional nature, she sent Luna over knowing she'd like to meet him.

She sat next to him on the small sofa. Emerald looked away, trying desperately to avoid contact with such an important figure.

"Hello. Mr. Emerald." Luna said smiling at the complete lack of eye contact coming from the shy stallion.

"Oh umm.....hi." He said with a glance towards her.

"Would you prefer I talk to the back of your head?" Luna asked as he looked away again.

"No, thank you." He said begrudgingly making eye contact.

"So. Twilight Sparkle tells me you're an author." Luna said with a gentle smile.

"Yes. I um write a lot of fictional adventure stories. I was classmates with the mare that wrote Daring Do, and we kept in touch while she wrote the first few. Not so much lately." He explained with a slight smile.

"I like adventure stories. They always amuse me. Maybe I could borrow some of your books from you?" Luna asked. She had brought her whole body onto the couch. She was almost laying down on the sofa, taking up almost 3 of it's four cushions. She lay facing Emerald with the same gentle smile on her face.

The noticeable signals Emerald was getting from this made him thrice as uncomfortable compared with just a minute before.

"Maybe you could take my phone number and mailing address so you can mail me the first of your books?" Luna suggested.

"Oh um sure." Emerald agreed. Luna borrowed a piece of paper from Twilight and wrote down the agreed the information. Then she ripped said page in half and had Emerald write his information. After that, Luna and he enjoyed the rest of the party. They began chatting over numerous topics. From politics to hobbies. At about 9 o' clock at night. Emerald and Luna went their separate ways. Emerald to his Ponyvile household. Luna to her Canterlot Castle.

That was the day happened to be yesterday.

Emerald began to read the neatly written letter.

"Dear Emerald Charmer."

"I enjoyed our time together at Twilight Sparkle's party. I haven't stopped thinking about you since. I was hoping I could come over tonight under the cover of my moon, and we could go on a date of sorts. What do you say? Send a letter in return please. With affection, Luna" After the "Luna." there was a large lip mark as if she had kissed the letter. Which as it seemed, she had.

Emerald felt nervous. Almost scared. He had never and could have never expected something like this to happen to him. He quickly acquired a piece of letter paper and began writing his return letter.

"Dear Luna."

"I." He hesitated mouthing out each word as he wrote. "would be honored if you came here tonight." He left it at that. Lacking any words he could add. He quickly put it in an envelop and found the half-paper Luna had wrote on. He copied the address onto the envelope and then wondered.

How do I send it off?

He looked at Luna's letter and flipped it to find more words on the back.

"PS: When you send you're return, just use a teleportation spell to get it to Canterlot. Normal mail service would take too long. I have to use a special mail carrier because I have no-idea what your home looks like. Just imagine me and the castle."

He levitated his ready envelope before him and imagined Canterlot. Then Luna. With a poof of neon green light and sparks the letter disappeared with the sound of a lightning strike. Emerald covered his ears as the booming response of the echo attacked his brain.

"That....was horrible." He said rubbing his hurt ears.

He gave a large yawn and then went into the kitchen to make breakfast. As he waited for the toaster to turn the bread into toast, there was a sudden wisp of air as a letter materialized before. It was his own envelope. It had been opened. The original letter had been replaced with a new one.

He read it aloud as he waited for the toast. "Dear Emerald."

"I found a spell that let's me resend items to their origin (It was in a book Twilight let me borrow). Therefore I hope this letter on the inside of your envelope returns to you. I will show up at dusk.Don't worry about preparations. Just be ready when I get there. With love, Luna." He finished. He saw another kiss on the letter.

Emerald was about ready to vomit. He was nervous beyond belief. He had only twelve hours to prepare himself. Sure it was plenty of time, but it didn't seem that way to the nervous Emerald Charmer.
