who is the wonderful rainbow maned pony and why is she so amazing

After being dumped by the mare of your dreams you don't think things can get any worse. Then you meet her, the rainbow maned pony that changes everything

What, Where am i?

You wake up, your mind is foggy and your head is aching. you look at your surroundings and see that you are not in your home. you seem to be laying in the dirt, "how the hell" you think to yourself. you continue your scan of this strange area and find find yourself gazing into a pair of dazzling purple/pink eyes. you reel back in shock and the little blue pony let's out a squeak of relief.

" oh my god! you're awake!, i thought you were dead dude are you ok?"

your mouth hangs open stupidly, " duh, i uh..."

" dude you fell down that hill" the little pony says, trying not to break out into laughter.

your face turns read "of course i did" you think to yourself. you realize you're being very quiet so you blurt out " i, what? where am i?"

you look intently at her to see if you knew her, nope definitely a new face.

she cocks her head to the side, her rainbow mane swishes over your face, you realize you're still on the ground.

" well right now your laying the in dirt stupid" she says with a grin, she offers you a hoof and smiles.

" oh god she's so pretty" you think as you grab her hoof. she helps you up and you just stand there being socially awkward as usual, you just stare at the ground like a moron.

" so i just fell?" you ask.

" uhhhh, YUP!" she exclaims, "you should have seen it, it was awesome! first you were all running super fast and then BAM you hit this log and WAM you landed right on your face!" she giggles as she re-lives the moment in her head.

you look at her somewhat angrily and she must have felt bad for laughing because her expression turns serious.

" wait, dude are you ok?" you notice that her voice cracks as she talks, " cute " you think to yourself.

" um, yea it's cool i'm fine" your voice cracks like a little colt on the word fine and you turn as red as a cherry.

she just laughs " haha that's cute" she gives you a little wink as she says that.

" dear god she's amazing" you think as she giggles at how red your face just turned.

" hey!" she starts smiling, "let's get you cleaned up, you cut your head pretty bad dude, it's gnarly"

you reach your hoof up to your head and pull it back down slick with blood, you feel all the blood drain from your face. you start to feel really dizzy, " no, i am not going to pass out!" you think just as your vision starts to go dark.

" hey man are you ok?" it seems as if the voice of the pony you forgot to get the name of is drifting away.

" well shit" you think then everything went black.

" hold him still!"

"OW! he just kicked me, what a jerk"

"now now rainbow dash he's unconscious he can't help it"

in the blackness of your mind you hear these two ponys arguing over your apparently unconscious body.

you try to wake up and say " i'm fine, it's ok" but all you get out is a pathetic noise that's not to different than a baby colt whining because his momma mare took his pacifier.

" oh he's coming around!" this isn't a new voice, you've heard this pony before you just can't quite place it.

you hear a huff from the other pony " finally" wait, is that the little blue pony with the amazing eyes, what did you hear the other pony call her? was her name rainbow dash? THE rainbow dash?

this snaps you out of it and you come to, you see two ponies staring down at you.

"uhh, hi?" you say, not to sure what else to do you give a sly smile.

" hey, have a nice nap?" yup that's the pony with the rainbow mane, rainbow dash. but who is the other pony?

you look closer at her and realize " twilight!" you exclaim almost to loudly.

she giggles at you and says " yea it's me, and you mister need to stay lying down"

" but why?" your voice takes on a whiny tone.

"because you may have a concussion, i don't know for sure but you just need to stay still ok?"

you let out a big sigh and mutter " ok "

" big baby" rainbow teases you with a twinkle in her eye

you put on your best pouty face and stare at her. she just laughs and shakes her head.

"you're quite the little joker aren't you" she says

"no i just, i... well yea i guess" you stammer out like an idiot. she's just so pretty you can barely speak, you've never had this problem talking to mares before. oh who are you kidding you don't talk to mares.

" how ya feelin?" she asks

" like i just got knocked out then woke up and then passed out, which, let me tell you doesn't feel to great" you say a little playfully.

" yea, it was pretty funny though" she giggles

" wait, how did i get into twilights house?" you look over at twilight and she nods towards dash. good old twilight, you usually drop by to pick up books from her every Sunday. you wouldn't call her a friend per say but she's a good librarian and she loves what she does.

" what, how?" you look at dash for more info on the subject.

she turns a bright shade of red as she glances at her hooves, " i kinda carried you here" she mutters turning redder than ever.

"uhhh let me ask again: what, how?" you look quizzically at her, she won't meet your gaze.

"well i kinda grabbed you by the saddle bags and drug you here, we weren't far at all so don't go feeling i was being nice or anything" she winks at you as she says that last part and your heart does a little summersault. " what's going on i've never felt this way before" you think in your head as she leans closer to, what you can only assume, look at your head.

" good job on those stitches twi, they look great"

" thanks rainbow" twilight says bubbly you can tell the compliment meant a lot to her.

" woah, wait stitches?!" you stammer out

" well yes how else are we supposed to close the wound silly" twilight scoffs at you.

"yea i guess, but still i hate stitches, i hate blood, and i HATE doctors" you say still pouting.

" yea i couldn't tell you hated blood, you must have passed out at the sight of your hoof not it covered in blood" rainbow says sarcastically.

" oh god" you moan out " that's so embarrassing" you try to look away from rainbow but can't seem to stop looking into those eyes.

"nah it' cool, we all got our frights" rainbow says supportively

" yeah nothing to be ashamed of" twilight pipes in, twilight, you almost forgot about thanking her!

"thanks for patching me back up twi"

"oh no problem" she smiles

you realize with a start that you never confirmed that the blue pony with the rainbow mane and perfect eyes was in fact rainbow dash so you ask " i never caught you name, i figure what with you dragging me here i should at least know your name"

she looks surprised almost like she forgot too. " why i'm no other than rainbow dash! the FASTEST most awesome pony in all of equestria" she spreads her wings out from her back in a blatant burst of show boating. she takes off and zooms around the room a few times, this is when you actually take in your surroundings, you seem to be in the smaller section of twilights library, it's just a little room with books lining the walls, there's the table that you're currently lying on and a few lights but that's it. rainbow touches down in front of you with the biggest grin on her face.

" it must suck not being able to fly" she nods towards you, yeah you were but a simple unicorn, no wings to show off and sadly you weren't very good at magic either. every time you tried it you managed to blow something up or hurt yourself.

" nah it's not that bad" you say.

" yeah rainbow, flying isn't the best thing ever you know" twilight pouts

" to me it is!" rainbow shoots around the room once more.

"ok bigshot stop boasting and help me up" rainbow comes over with a smile and offers a hoof, you gladly take it and she pulls you into a sitting position, your face gets pulled right next to hers you simply stare at each other for a time. then you blush and turn away. rainbow let's out a small cough and helps you off of the table onto your hooves.

"thanks" you're still blushing like an idiot.

"hey anything for a friend" " a friend! she called me a friend"

" you consider me a friend now then?"

" of course, if i have to drag an unconscious stallion home i start to think we're friends"

" then you won't mind if i ask you to dinner at my place, i need to thank you in some way"

you here twilight squeal with joy off in the distance, you thought she was putting her medical supplies back but it's obvious she's been listening in.

" yeah, that uh sounds great!" rainbow says as she glares daggers at twilight. your heart seems hell-bent
on jumping out of your throat, the simple fact that somepony as attractive as rainbow actually wants to have dinner with you is exhilarating.

" sweet, hows tonight?"

" hold on cowboy you gotta tell me why you were running so fast earlier"

" oh that, i was just, i dunno running. it helps me burn off steam"

" why were you burning off stem?" she gazes at you

"oh no reason really just stressed out from some stuff" you wouldn't dare tell her about the real reason. you've just gotten dumped by the mare that you thought was the perfect one for you.

" oh, ok that's cool, yea tonight sounds great!"

" great i'll meet you at the market at seven tonight!"

"ok great i'm looking forward to it" she blushes as she says that

" me too" is all you say, you wait for her to lift her gaze back up to you an you just stare into her eyes for what seems like forever. you here a small cough from the other side of the room. it's twilight,

" um if you guys want to have dinner at seven you might want to go get cleaned up now" she nods at the clock six o clock.

" ok well uhhh, i'm going to go clean up and change into something that isn't covered in dirt and blood" you laughingly say.

" me too! ok then i'll catch you later hot stuff " rainbow gives you a wink and the look on your face, one of utter disbelief makes her blush, she quickly zooms out of the room muttering something about being an idiot.

you turn to twilight and she's smiling ear to ear " she likes you ya know"

"what! no way" you say exasperatedly

"oh yea, i've known rainbow for a while now and i think she does"

"yea ok then" you laugh it off

" the only reason she's going to dinner with me is because she feels obligated"

" think what you want, hot stuff" she breaks up at the hot stuff part and starts laughing uncontrollably

" ok then, bye twilight i'll see you later" you shake your head as you walk out of her house.

"wow things have really turned around for me, maybe rainbow dash does like me? bah! i'll find out later"

you run off to your house down the dirt path being very careful to watch for stray logs.

Dinner And A Show

6:30, the clock in the corner of your living room tells you you only have half an hour until what may be the best date you've ever gone on. You sigh and look around the room, nothing special and it's just a little messy. The walls painted a sickly yellow, you hate it but don't care enough to change it. you breath in deeply and take in the smell of strong cologne maybe you put a little to much on? Nah it's just the right amount.

" Ok I've got to make a good impression on her!" You check yourself for the hundredth time in the mirror. Your dark brown mane as messy as usual but you like it, it's how you think of yourself. All over the place, it's hard for you to focus on one topic for too long. When you were born the doctors diagnosed you with a mental abnormality called ADD which means you can't for the life of you sit still or focus. It's never held you back though, you like to think of it as a major influence in the music you create. Music, the one thing in your life that seems to calm you down and let you focus. You're no DJ pon3 but you like to think you're pretty good. You readjust your headphones on your head, you wear them all the time at home but don't dare wear them outside. Ponies would just think your a dork.

" Ok I'd better get going then" you sigh. You're so nervous you start to feel sick,

" Get a hold of yourself, you can do this!". The pathetic attempt to get you amped is useless, you still feel sick. So you turn up your music and plunk yourself on the big purple couch in the middle of the room, you seem to be sucked in by it's warmth and comfort. You lean back and rest your head on the back of the couch and stare at the roof, the roof of your tiny one bedroom apartment looks as bland as ever. That is until you open your mind and you're imagination takes over.

You seem to feel the beat in the music, it's flowing through your blood and you shiver. Strange images dance on the roof, the song has you in it's grip now. It's your own song, you made it just the other day. You like to think it's your best work yet, a perfect mix of classic and new age. The lyrics seem to mix together in your head as you listen, the mare who sung those lyrics is long gone. She's the one who took your heart and stomped it underhoof.

"bitch" you mutter out, you rip the headphone cord out of your ponyPod and throw it across the room. Tears burst from your eyes as the pain comes back full force. you still can't believe she's gone.

"fuck!" you scream out, tears still running down your face, you get up and run over to your ponyPod which has an enormous crack in the screen now. " idiot" you let out, you slam it onto your desk beside your mixer and step away. you wipe the tears off of your face the salty sting in your eyes is enough.

" grow up " you scold yourself. " You have a date to attend" you sniff and grab a napkin, you walk over to the mirror and wipe off your face.

"Ok, well now I look ridiculous" you sigh as you look at the red eyed pony in the mirror. You rip the headphones off of your head and put them down on the desk beside the now broken ponyPod.

you do a little hop and shake yourself all over, this seems to help clear your mind. You glance back at the clock 6:45 " shit, I gotta get going" you mutter out. You run a hoof through your mane and sigh deeply. " keep it together"

You trot over to your room to check on Bubbles your pet fish, he stares blankly at you and blows out a bubble.

" Gee thanks for the support bud" you grin

" blub "

"yea, that's great" You realize that you're just killing time now so you shake once more and head for the door.

It's a cool starless night out, the wind moves across your face and brings out the smell of outside. Fresh green grass and budding flowers. You let a smile creep across your face as you head towards town. Your mind starts to wander back to the past, the mare who broke your heart, Starshine, the bitch. You never thought it would end with her. That's why the day you came home to find her with another stallion in YOUR bed you were so shocked. Everything seemed to be going so well, you guess that ponies like that just like to sleep around.

"ponies like that" you mutter, a star athlete, Starshine was a runner and a damn good one at that. She was top of her class, everyone adored her. It must not have been to hard for her to find somepony interested in her. You shake your head violently and bring your thoughts back to the present. You've got a second chance with mare even prettier than Starshine, and you can't blow it.

You didn't even realize that you had broken into a run, when you came into town you were out of breath. you're brain does that sometimes, it does something without letting you know. You decide to wait at the edge of town for a minute until your breath comes back. When it does you calmly walk into town winding through the streets until you reach the market. It's mostly dead by now but there are a few ponies still around. You gaze up at the clouds above you, barely visible in the dark they remind you of a land unreachable but full of opportunity.

" hey" you hear from above you, above you? You look at the building behind you and see Rainbow Dash sitting on the porch roof.

" uh, hi how's it going" you ask sheepishly " and why are you up there"

" oh i was just watching you" She must realize how strange that sounds because she laughs and says " not being a creep or anything, you just started staring up at the sky and you looked so deep in thought." she blushes " and you're kinda cute when you concentrate"

" oh well... uh, ok" God you sound like an idiot, she just complimented you and that's what you say.

She laughs and drops off the roof to stand beside you, the wind from her wings washes over you with a scent so intoxicating you can barely stay standing up. Must be what she's wearing?" so what's for dinner?"

" hm, well I hadn't thought of that" you admit.

" Let's get some pizza!" she smiles

" Wow that's pretty high class, I don't know if I have enough" you wink at her and she punches you in the shoulder.

"Ow, that hurt"

"Oh boo hoo" She smiles and starts walking towards the pizza shop across the way.

" Wait up" you say as you trot up beside her.

" Feeling better now" she asks a mocking tone in her voice

" yea I'm feeling pretty good now thanks" you say

" That's good, I don't want you to go passing out again. You're pretty heavy" she laughs at how red you turn.

You've reached the stand now, the smell of freshly baked pizza washes over you making you practically drool.

" Two slices for us please" She says to the owner. He nods to you and says to Rainbow " who's this?"

" Oh just a new friend" She shrugs her shoulders, " he really wanted pizza"

"but, it was your idea!" you stammer, she winks at you playfully.

" just teasing"

"oh, gotcha" you blush at how stupid you're being.

The shopkeeper chuckles and hands you the pizza, " You kids have fun now" he says looking at you he grins and nod his head. " take care of Rainbow for me, she's a good customer"

" will do sir" you say and mock salute him.He just smiles and waves you along.

You both wander over to a bench at the side of the shop.

Rainbow has already eating more than half of the slice and you raise an eyebrow, " now I'm the one who wanted pizza?"

She blushes and hits you again. " shut up and eat your pizza joker boy"

You happily oblige and practically inhale your piece. You both sit there in silence until Rainbow says.

" So, you like music do you?" You choke on your pizza.

"how did you know?!"

"well for one you've been humming for the last minute or so"

"oh god" you sigh "yea I do that sometimes, I don't know why"

"No worries I liked it, what song was it?"

" One of my songs I've been working on, no big deal it's not that good" you say modestly.

"pft! it sounded really good to me!" she says smiling

"What else gave it away?" You ask.

" Well you do have a pair of headphones for a cutie mark" she says pointing out the obvious.

" Yea i guess that's a dead give away" You laugh.

" So you make music?" she asks a twinkle in her eyes.

"Yea I dabble" you wink

" sweet! can I hear some?" she says happily

You think about it for a minute, " Yeah I guess if you want"

"Well I do!" she says " do you have any on you?"

You think back to your ponyPod smashed on your desk " uh, no not on me"

"Well i better hear some later"

" Ok you will" you say as you stand up " but for now let's go for a walk I can't sit still"

" Sounds good to me" she get's up and joins you.

You both start walking down the road, " So Rainbow, tell me about yourself" you look over at her and she says

" What do you want to know?"

" I don't know, What do you do for work?"

" Oh well I'm usually on cloud patrol, I make it rain" she says as she smiles at the last part.

" That sounds like fun, being able to fly around all day and sleep on clouds"

" Yea it's pretty awesome" she grins

" How about you, what do you do?"

you cringe " Well right now, nothing"

"OH" she says " That sounds like fun to!, what do you do in all that spare time?"

"mostly music" you say sheepishly, you sound so lame it's sad.

" Hey that's pretty cool! how many songs have you made?"

" A lot, I scrap some of them though, a lot of them lately"

"Oh why's that" she asks with genuine interest.

" well, to be honest I just got out of a pretty big relationship with this other mare and she did a lot of the vocals" you wait for her to say something like " oh what am just another one!?" But all she says is

"Me to" as she says this you look at her, her expression becomes very sad and for some reason that makes you mad.

" Who with?" you ask angrily, you don't know why but you want to kick this pony's flank. Anyone who makes Rainbow sad is a jerk in your books.

" I'm sorry but I don't want to tell you" she says with regret.

Your heart sinks but you keep a smile on your face " That's cool I understand"

You're hit full force with a blur of blue, " she's hugging me!" you're tense at first but grow into it and start to hug her back. Her body is shaking with sobs.

" hey, it's ok " you say softly. " I'm right here"

She sniffs and pulls back so she's looking into your eyes. Her eyes are welled with tears as she says, " you're so understanding" She sniffs again. "everypony else just gets mad when I don't tell them" She's so close to you you have to resist the urge to pull her in and kiss her right then and there.

" Well I'm not like everypony else" you smile.

" I can tell" she hugs you even harder and shudders. " I barely know you and look at me!" She mutters into your shoulder.

" I don't mind at all" you say as you hold her in your arms.

She laughs and lets you go. You never wanted her to let you go, you wanted to be in that moment forever.

She puts a hoof on your shoulder and sighs, " sorry about that" she says sheepishly.

"Hey it's nothing compared to what I did earlier" that seems to make her feel better because she smiles at you and removes her hoof.

" I'm such a dork" she says as she moves her hoof around in the dirt

" No you're not, you're perfect" you reach up and wipe her face.

She grabs your hoof and interlaces her foreleg with yours. you blush and look to the ground.

When you look back up she's smiling, " so are you" she says quietly.

you grin like and idiot and she rolls her eyes.

" way to ruin the moment " she says jokingly

"hey, it's what I do" you say as she starts to lead you off by your foreleg.

" That's enough mushy gushy stuff for now, let's go hear that music of yours"

You turn her around to face the other direction, " This way" you say

" Well I was just guessing!" she says with a grin.

The walk back from the market to your house was filled with idle chatter between you and Rainbow. You talk about her work and her friends. You never knew she was so close with Twilight. She tells you about her fanatic borderline obsession with the flying team the wonderbolts. The only thing you get out of all of this is that she's a very busy pony with a very busy life.

" So you go out a lot?" You ask to the night air, staring forward.

" Yea I guess you could say so" she says as she looks at you.

"What about you?"

The question blindsides you, you don't want her to know you're a loner but you don't want to say you go out all the time and haver her call your bluff.

"Uh yea, it kinda depends on how I'm feeling and,... stuff..."

"Oh, that's cool"

You clear your throat, " Yeah sure" you say under your breath.

"What's that?" she says with a quizzical look on her face.

"Nothin"

"Aright ?"

"Anywho, You said you were good friends with twilight?" you say as you take the turn to your road. She still hasn't let go of your hoof, it's a blissful feeling being close with her.

"OH yeah, me and Twi we're best buds!" She says with a grin.

"She's a pretty good librarian isn't she"

" The very best!" She nudges you with her shoulder.

" Haha, yea I suppose she is, anyway we're here" you say as you look up at your dilapidated apartment complex.

"Here?" she says scrunching up her nose.

"Hey, beauty is on the inside!" you joke as you drag her up the stairs.

" I guess so" She says uncertainly, that hurt. You never thought your house was that shitty, but you guess that a pony that lives in the clouds might have high standards.

You swing open the door and do a little jazzhoofs as she walks in. She laughs as she walks by you.

"Beauty on the inside huh?" She asks looking around the living room, she seems to be taking in every detail she can.

" Well it's not that bad!" you exclaim with mock terror in your voice.

" Meh, I've seen worse" She says as she raises an eyebrow at the mess on the floor. Dirty shirts and food wrappers litter the room like shrapnel from a "messy room" bomb.

" I've also seen cleaner" She says with a chuckle.

Woops maybe you should have cleaned up a little?

"Yea it's great isn't it?"

She sits on your couch in the middle of the room as you close the door.

" You got anything to eat?" she asks "One slice of pizza isn't a whole lot". She looks back at you over her shoulder.

"maybe" you say with a concerned look on your face, she laughs at you. It wasn't supposed to be a joke, you have literally almost nothing.

You step into the kitchen as she picks up the remote and flicks on the T.V.

You rummage through your bare cupboards, "a great advantage to not having any food means no mice!" Yeah that's a great reason to have no food. You run into a box of pancake mix, " Hows pancakes?" you shout out.

"Sounds good to me" you here her moving around

" I'll get on that then" After a few more minutes of rummaging you find a usable pan and mix together the floury substance.

Just as you put the first pancake on the stove Rainbow appears in the doorway leaning up against the wall with her hoof behind her back.

" Hey, I'm just making them now, gunna be a while yet"

She smiles " Well that's ok I found something to pass the time" she winks as she brings a half empty bottle of Applejack Daniels out from behind her.

A smile breaks out on your face, " Good plan!" It takes another few minutes to find suitable glasses to drink from that don't have something growing in them.

"Let me help with those pancakes" she says as she shoves you out of the way, she jams her hoof into the batter and turns to you with a malevolent expression on her face.

"No, wait, Rainbow!" to late, she pounces on you giggling like a filly as she plasters you with batter.

" Oh it's on now!" you grab her around the waist and spin her around. Sticking your own hoof in the batter at the same time, you bring it around and wipe it on her snout. She squeals with delight as she breaks out of your embrace. She knocks you to the ground and sits on your chest painting batter pictures on you, no matter how hard you squirm you can't get up. She's using her wings to push her down in turn holding you there. You grab the spatula that must have fell on the floor in the mayhem and swipe it up her foreleg with a triumphant "HAH" You both roll around on the ground for a little while longer until Rainbow jumps up and runs into the living room giggling.

"You win this round!" you yell after her. All you hear in response is another chorus of giggles.

After a few more shots and an equal number of pancakes made , with batter splattered all over the room you think it's going quite well. you decide to strike up a conversation. More than likely brought on by the side effects of the booze.

" So, tell me, why did you help me earlier when I fell anyway?" you look over from the stove to see her back in the doorway.The question seems to take her by surprise because she lowers the glass from her mouth and stares at you with a deadpan expression.

" What, bad question?" you ask afraid you've pissed her off.

" No, it's just, well... I don't actually know" She looks away and you realize you've been staring at her, you look back at the pancake sizzling away in the pan.

"I mean I guess it's kinda cus your cute" She says, you look up from the pancake to see her blushing, or is that just the alcohol, you chalk it up to the fact she just called you cute. " And I couldn't just leave you there conked out" She says forever covering her ass with reasons that mean nothing.

" I bet it's just because I'm so cute!" you say playing with her.

She walks over to you and stand inches away from your face, she's just staring, those magenta eyes boring into your soul. She stays that way until a nervous sweat breaks out on your forehead.

" BOO!" she yells into your face, of course you scream like a little filly and fling the frying pan across the kitchen. you glare at her as she cracks up.

"AHAHA you should have seen your face!, that was SO priceless"

" What was that for?" you ask angrily.

" Just seeing how cute you are!" she says giggling

"You're cut off" you say glancing at the now almost empty bottle of booze.

She flashes a perfect white smile at you and you and spins out of the room laughing the whole way.

You take what you can salvage from the pancake explosion and put it on a plate and follow her into the living room.She's laying sprawled out on the couch but does move her hindlegs to make room for you at the end. You place the plate of pancakes on the table and sit back sighing.

You glance over to her as she leans forward to pick at the pancakes, her body in a perfect pose you can't help but admire, she seems to be perfect, well to you that is. Her chaotic rainbow mane falls across her face as she leans back, she does nothing to move it so you lean in and brush it to one side. She looks at you with a question in her eyes.

" I couldn't see your face" you explain and she blushes.

"Hehe you're so good at making me feel good!" she says loudly, clearly intoxicated. She laughs at that and nudges you with her hoof, " get it?" she says with a drunken wink.

"yea I get it" you say trying desperately not to break into a smile, to no avail.

"haha, I thought you'd like that" she says as she nudges you again.

"OH!" she says as her eyes widen " let's hear that music now!" she repeatedly kicks you in the side until you get up giggling the whole time.

"ok ok, lemme just grab this first" you say as you pass the pancakes and take a big chunk. Melt in your mouth delicious, " I could've been a cook" you think with a smile.

You wander over to your ponyPod, still cracked but still functional.

" NICE ASS!" you hear a catcall from behind you, you spin around to see Rainbow looking off in another direction innocently.

" You do know you're the only other pony in here right?" you ask

" Huh, what's that?" she says batting her eyes

You laugh and shake your head as you turn back to your ponyPod, you grab your headphones off of the desk beside them and turn back to her.

You notice she's moved into a sitting position and she beckons you over, you gladly oblige and plunk down right beside her.

" Say, you got any blankets or anything? this place is cold as hell!" she asks, funny since you'd think hell would be rather hot.

" Yea sure" you grab the closest one from the floor and throw it over her, she snuggles in and then looks at you expectantly.

"I'm waiting" she says, you realize she means the music so you set the song to your favourite and plug in the headphones then hand it over to her.

She places them on her head and closes her eyes. She bobs her head to the beat and you can't help but admire her some more. Even Starshine couldn't match this beauty. You close your eyes and let out a sigh, " Could this really be happening? this amazing mare in my house listening to my music while I'm so close to her" you ponder this thought as you open your eyes again, only to see Rainbow who's definitely into the song. With her eyes still closed she shifts her position so she's shoulder to shoulder with you, she slowly moves her head to rest in the crook of your neck. " Oh god oh god" She wraps her blanket clad forelegs around you and you return the favour with relish" OH GOD OH GOD!". Her rainbow mane flowing down your chest you can't help but stroke it. She let's out a loud sigh as she removes the headphones.

"Wow that was...really good dude" she says as she moves in closer to you.

" Thanks, that means a lot coming from someone like you" you say continuing to stroke her mane.

"Someone like me?" she asks you feel her breath on your neck which is pure bliss.

"Someone so amazing and beautiful" you say quietly resting your ear on the top of her head.

She laughs at what seems the thought of that

"Don't laugh it's true" you say

" That means a lot coming from someone like you" she says as she grips you closer.

You smile and kiss her on the top of the head.

She pulls back and says "I'm in no shape to fly home, can I, can I stay here tonight?"

" Of course you can Rainbow, I'll sleep on the couch" *facehoof* a beautiful mare asks to spend the night and you say you'll take the couch, idiot!

She laughs, " Not exactly what I had in mind" she says as she nudges you

"But Rainbow, you're clearly drunk, I won't take advantage" SAVED!

"Oh you're such a gentleman" she says happily as she breaks the embrace.

" I guess I'll go mess up your bed then!" she giggles as she runs off into your room with your ponyPod in tow.

" Don't break anything!" you yell after her, she slams the door behind her with a yelp of joy.

"That could have gone better" you think as you lay out on the couch, you pull the blanket over you. Thoughts and fantasies of Rainbow rush through your brain as you fade into a long needed sleep. Who would've thought after being out cold for so long you'd still be tired. For the first time in a long time you fall asleep with a smile on your face, content to even be in the same house as the rainbow pony.

" What the hell is this!" a very loud shrill voice brings you out of your slumber,

The lights must have been turned on because when you open your eyes it burns, " Wuh, what's goin on?" you slur groggily.

"This" Rainbow shoves a small sheaf of paper before you, it takes your eyes a few second to focus but when they do you feel your heart explode right in your chest.

The paper reads: Dear mom and dad, if you're reading this it means I've decided to end it all.....

"Woops" you say dumbfounded at her discovery

"Damn right woops, you got some explaining to do!"

The Explanation

"Well... I uh, I can explain" You sit up on the couch and Rainbow takes a step back still giving you a glare that would put Fluttershy to shame.

"You're damn right!" She throws the now crumpled piece of paper at your face and crosses her forelegs.

"Well, Rainbow, I.. I was in a dark place, I mean... oh Celestia how do I explain this to you?" Your eyes start to well with tears as the gravity of this situation sinks in, Rainbow Dash, one of the most beautiful mares you've ever met just found a suicide note that stems from you being dumped by quite possibly the second best mare ever!

"Go on" she says with anger dripping from her voice.

"Well, I guess it's time to be one hundred percent honest here"

"Hundred and twenty percent actually" She frowns at you.

"UH..yea, sure. Anyway you see I just got out of a rather big relationship as you know and uhh...-"

"Yea me too but do you see me doing shit like this?" she yells stamping her hoof for effect.

"But, well no. No I don't" you say quietly hanging your head in shame.

She sighs and throws herself down beside you.

"God damn it I can't stay mad at you" She says exasperatedly.

You look at her and plaster a cocky grin on your face.

"But I can try!" she says as she punches you in the shoulder.

"Ow" you mutter defiantly.

"Oh shut up, and tell me why in the name of Celestia did you write this bullshit"

You stare intently across the room, the last thing you want right now is to look her in the eyes.

"Well like I said, a big relationship just ended and I guess I was in a dark place" you say frowning at the wall.

"That's not a good reason to, kill yourself" She says sadly.

"I,I know but... oh Celestia I don't know!" You stammer out

She throws her foreleg around your shoulder and nudges you,

"Well, you're still here right?" she says questionably.

You look over to see tears in her eyes, you hold her closer and let your tears flow.

"Yea, and you're here too" you say quietly.

" Don't you ever think about doing that now, I.. I don't know what I'll do" She lamely pounds a hoof against your back.

You smile at the thought of actually being needed by someone again.

"You don't need to worry Rainbow, not any more. I don't know how I'd do it now that I know you"

She sniffles and holds you even tighter.

"Good cus that really scared me you jerk!"

" I know and I'm really sorry Rainbow, I never want to hurt you again"

She gazes up at you with those magenta eyes that melt your heart, she pulls you in closer and kisses you. Your stomach does a little flip as your heart jumps into your throat again. You're tentative at first and hold back somewhat but as she holds you and kisses you so passionately you grow into it and start to kiss back. The soft velvet of her lips almost to much to handle but as she moves her tongue across the inside of your mouth all self control evaporates and you kiss back with equal passion. She breaks the kiss and sits back with a smile.

"I've wanted to do that ever since I met you"

" Well let's keep doing it huh?" you grin

" I'm down" she says with a laugh as she takes your hoof and leads you into the bedroom.

The morning sun shines on your face as you come out of a deep sleep. You roll over on your side to see Rainbow passed out on the other side of the bed. The smell of sweat and the sheets being in a ball tells you that last night was a good time. You smile and lay there for a while simply staring at her. Her rainbow mane a mess from last nights romp in the heavenly garden, she sleeps with a smile of content on her face and mutters quietly. You stretch and smack your lips together and sit up tentatively not wanting to wake Rainbow up. You go about your regular morning routine and put on a pot of coffee, straight from Coltumbia. The smell of freshly brewed coffee must have made Rainbow wake up because when you sit down on the couch with your cup she comes walking groggily from your room. When she sees you she smiles like a madpony.

"Hey you" she says with a wink.

You laugh at her early morning behaviour

"Hey Rainbow, hows it going?" you say as you raise your mug of coffee "Can I interest you in some delightful coffee?" you say with a smile.

"Huh, nah I'm good" she wanders over to you and throws herself down on the couch. She puts her head In your lap and stares up at you.

"Last night was fun" She says turning red.

You laugh and nod your head in agreement

"Yea it was" you place your hoof on her mane and start to try to untangle it.

She closes her eyes and sighs

"I never want to leave" she says with a frown.

" I never want you to leave" You say as she opens her eyes and looks at you.She smiles and pushes herself up to kiss you again, the feeling just as good as it was last night, pure bliss.

She lays back down with a sound of content.

"but I have to, the weather patrol needs me" She says glumly.

"Well you can come back over when you're done" you say hopefully.

"Oh, you can count on that babe" she says happily.

You blush " Let me make you some breakfast first" You smile,

"Ok sounds good let me go clean up a little" she says with a laugh.

You both get up and she plants another kiss on your lips before walking to the bathroom. You haven't felt this happy in a long time, you even hum a little as you saunter over to the kitchen.
