Prologue

It was cold, foggy morning in the town of Vizima, too early for someone to wander through the streets. Yet one man, on a brown horse named Roach did it. He looked like a quite young man, but he was far older, and more experienced than any average man in this town.

He wore leather vest, pants, boots, and (obviously) leather mantle. Also, he had two swords strapped on his back. He had white hair, what was strange, and had large scar on his face, but the most odd thing was his eyes. They were similar to the cat's, and were yellow.

He rode throught the streets to the nearest tavern, called The Fox. When he entered he was greeted with nearly empty room. There were four men, three sleeped on their chairs near the table, with a few empty bottles of beer, and one in the corner of the room, looking like he's waiting for someone. He was wearing long, blue robe. Stranger came to the lone man, and asked

"You're Valadyr?".

He nodded in response, and asked back "Looking for job?". The Stranger only stared in silence. "I guess that means yes, come with me"

Man known now as Valadyr stood up, and motioned to follow him. They both exited the tavern, the stranger took his horse, and they went through the streets to an old building, that was similar to a small warehouse. Stranger attached Roach to a nearby wooden pole, he followed the Valadyr inside the building, and was greeted by two more people, one man, and one woman. They wore similar clothes as Valadyr. In the middle of the room, there was standing odd pedestal, with an item on it.It was a metal ball, with engraved symbols in it.

"So," Valadyr began "you're this famous witcher, Geralt of Rivia?" White haired man answered only with a nod. "Okay then, come here". He motioned Geralt to come closer to the pedestal.

"Geralt, this is Zavist" Zavist greeted him with a wave of hand, "and this beauty here is Vanielle"
Vanielle glared and Valadyr, then smiled at Geralt and said "Hello, it's nice to meet someone so well known"

"Okay, enough chit chat, let's do the work, and I'm out. What I need to do?" Geralt asked.
"Oh, just a simple thing, we need you to use your sign and warm up that artefact. Then we do the rest" Valadyr explained
"Only warm this thing? Why don't you do that alone?"
"You think that we didn't try it? Our magic doesn't work onthat artefact, only witchers' signs"
"Okay, better do that fast." Geralt said and took position in front of pedestal, the others soon follow.

After the silent agreement, Geralt used Igni sign on the ball. Instantly, the glyphs on it flashed with red color. Then, the others began casting the spell. Obviously, they were mages.

Later, in the middle of it, main doors flared open, and group of six bandits with drawn daggers in both hands ran inside, and after them, big, muscled man with a broadsword stepped in. He looke at the mages and the witcher, and commanded "Kill the witcher, I'll take the artefact". When he finished that sentence, bandits charged at the Geralt, and the muscled man went slowly to the mages.

Geralt unsheathed his enchanted iron sword, and began fighting with the bandits, killing them one by one. In the meantime, the man with a broadsword came closer to the mages and slashed at the Zavist. He was too focused on the spell, so he didn't stand a chance. The broadsword went through his neck like knife through the butter, but then, something unexpected happened.

The ball flashed with a bright blue color, and began to rise into the air. Geralt noticed it, and tried to form his Heliotrop sign. Too late. The ball exploded with an arcane energy, and blinded everyone inside, and outside the building. When the light went out, there was no one in the warehouse, and the ball was gone.

It was peaceful night in the land of Equestria. On the sky there were many stars, big and small, and a big moon, that lazily moved through the sky. All of the inhabitants of this magical land were asleep, except one. Twilight Sparkle, star pupil of Princess Celestia, was studying the beautiful sky, that Princess Luna made. Today was perfect day for stargazing; Rainbow Dash informed her, that there will be no cloud tonight. The purple mare looked through the telescope, admiring the stars, and taking notes about the constellations. It was really late, around the midnight and she was tired now, but Twilight wanted to complete her task tonight. She was so focused on it, that she missed a faint blue light in the middle of the Everfree Forest.
