Chapter 1

Rainbow Dash sat up in bed, and yawned. "What should I do today." She looked around the room, and then had a idea. "I think I should go check out cloudsdale, I haven't been there since the Best Young Flyer competition."

She walked out the door and set off for Cloudsdale.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Soarin sat in his bed looking out the window, "Uhhhh, there's nothing to do. We won't be having show for another four weeks." He sat up and walked out onto the balcony and looked at the city. At first he saw nothing, but then he saw something in the distance.

He looked closer and could see a rainbow colored pegasus flying over the city. "Wait, is that Rainbow Dash, I remember her from the Best Young Flyer competition and the Grand Galloping Gala."

As he watched her fly by the HQ, he had an idea. "They say she's the best flyer around, I think I should follow her and see how good she really is." He started to take off when he had a sudden feeling of nervousness.

He laughed and jump up and flew towards her. Why should he be nervous, it's not like he's going to talk to her or anything, just follow her.

   Rainbow Dash was soaring over Cloudsdale, admiring the grand city. She was flying slow through the clouds. She looked to the left and saw the wonderbolts HQ."One day." Rainbow Dash sighed. She continued flying towards the edge of Cloudsdale.
  
   Then she had a sudden feeling that someone was following her. She turned her head, and saw a pegasus go into a cloud. But she could tell that they was following her. She smiled, ''try and keep up with me,"she said to herself.

   She zoomed straight down towards the ground. Then she took a sharp turn right, and flew through a small forest. She landed in the middle of the forest, in a small clearing. "Guess he couldn't keep up. I knew that he would not be able to." She laughed to herself. She turned and was face to face with another pony.

   She flew back and said, "What the hay, who are you." The mysterious pony stepped out of the shadows. Rainbow Dash gasped, in front of her stood a pegasus from the wonderbolts. "Hey, sorry to have scared you. My name is Soarin. And you are Rainbow Dash, right."

   Rainbow Dash's mouth hung open in shock and surprise. Soarin looked at her,"Are you ok, Dash." Rainbow Dash blinked and tried to recollect herself. "Ummm, yea sorry." she said. Then she smiled and said, "So your in the wonderbolts. You guys are the best fliers in all of Equestria."

   Soarin looked at her and smiled,"Sure am. I saw you fly over Cloudsdale, and I decided to follow you." Rainbow Dash looked at him and laughed, "So thats how you were able to keep up with me. Only a wonderbolt could beat me in a race."

   Soarin gave a slight smile, "Well it wasn't easy keeping up with you. Your a great flyer, and the fastest one i've seen." Rainbow Dash stared at him, "Really, you was having trouble keeping up with me!" She stood there with her mouth open and staring at him. Soarin gave a small laugh, "Well, as far as I can tell. Your the fastest pony I've seen."

   Rainbow Dash blushed a little, then turned away. "Why am I blushing, theres no way I could like him." She thought to herself. Soarin looked at her and said, "Are you ok, your face is red." Rainbow Dash gave a small nervous laugh, "Ummm, yea I've been in the sun all day."

   Soarin smiled and said," Ok, well I need to get back to the HQ for a meeting. Nice meeting you Rainbow Dash." Rainbow Dash looked at him and gave him a small smile. "Do you want to hangout with me sometime. I mean if you want to."

   Soarin walked past her and put his wings up, prepared to lift off. "Sure, I'll catch up with you later. Oh and like I said before, your the fastest pony I've ever seen, even better than some of the woderbolts. And also the cuttest pony in Equestria."

   Dash's eyes went wide, "Wait what do you mean..." But Soarin had already flew off. "Did he just say that I'm the cutest pony in Equestria. Did he mean it? Wait why do I care." She thought to her self.

"Stupid,stupid,stupid! Why did I have to say she was the cutest pony in Equestria. I'm so stupid, now she knows I like her. I've liked her since she saved me and the others at the best young flyer's compition. Why did I even follow her. I should have just kept watching her fly around." Said Soarin to himself as he flew towards Cloudsdale. He sighed and looked back, "I hope she didn't hear my last words before I left." He continued flying towards Cloudsdale.

"Ok, see ya later Applejack." Rainbow Dash said as she set off for her home. Once she landed on the steps to her house. She walked towards her room. She yawned loudly,"Wow, I'm tired. I shouldn't have slew so much today." She jumped into the air and landed on her bed. She layed her head down and yawed again. "I still can't believe that Soarin said that I was the cutest pony in Equestria. I wonder if he likes me, well he is kinda cute and.... Shut up Rainbow Dash, there's no way he could like you. He was just being nice to you." Thought Rainbow Dash as she slowly fell asleep.

  Rainbow Dash awoke with a start the next morning. She had been dreaming of her and soarin....kissing! She couldn't believe she had dreamed of that, it will never happen, no matter how much she wanted it to. She sat up and sighed.

  She looked out the window at the clouds. She felt sad for the first time in a long time. "It will never happen." She said with a sad voice.

Soarin was still in bed, he hadn't slept all night. He just couldn't stop thinking of Rainbow Dash. "Why did I have to say that, now she will avoid me." Soarin sat up and walked outside of the HQ. He walked around cloudsdale for a few hours, hoping to see Rainbow Dash flying around, but she wasn't today. He went to the edge of Cloudsdale and sat down.

  A little while later, he saw something flying below him. He soon relished that it was Rainbow Dash. He smiled, and he watched her perform tricks in the air. "She really is one of the best fliers, and the cutest pony I have ever seen. Wish she would fly this way." As he watched her fly, he started to notice that something was wrong with her.

Rainbow Dash had been flying all day. But today something felt off today, she couldn't see straight and her head was swimming. "I have to keep practicing if i want to join the wonderbolts." She started to shake, "whats wrong with me." She turned her head to the left to fast and her eyes went black. "what..." She said before she passed out.

Soarin jumped up, "OH NO!" He took off as fast as he could towards her falling unconscious body. He flew faster than he had before. Seconds before she hit the ground, he caught her on his back. But the impact was to much for him to handle and he slammed into the ground with Rainbow Dash still on his back. The impact knocked him out. The last thing he saw was Rainbow Dash trying to stand. Than every thing went dark.

  Rainbow Dash awoke once she landed on something soft. She opened her eyes to see that Soarin had  caught her. But before she could do anything, Soarin slammed into the ground. Rainbow Dash was thrown off of his back and landed a few feet away from him. She stood up slowly and started to walk towards Soarin, but suddenly she feels a sharp pain in her front left hoof.

  She stumbled and fell to the ground. She looked over at Soarin's unconscious body, and started pulling herself towards him. Once she was in front of him, she started to stand up slowly. She pushed her head under his body and lifted him onto her back. His weight was almost to much for her to hold, but she was able to lift off. She started flying towards her house, it was the only place she could thing of.

  Soarin opened his eyes, and blinked twice. He was in a bed, "What happened." He started to move but noticed that a body was on top of him. It was Rainbow Dash, she was laying on top of him! He smiled, this felt strangely wonderful and right to him. He put his hoofs over her, and layed like that for a few hours.

  Rainbow Dash opened her eyes and felt something warm under her, and something around her. She look up and saw that Soarin had her in a loving embrace. He looked down and smiled. "Your awake, when i woke up you was on top of me." Rainbow Dash eyes went wide, and she started blushing. "I'm so sorry Soarin, once I had got you to the house and in bed, I just didn't have any energy left to move. and I just passed out on top of you. I'm so sorr....."

  Soarin put a hoof over her mouth, " It's ok, it was wonderful to wake up to you with me." Rainbow Dash started blushing even more. "Really, I though you would be mad." Soarin gave a small laugh,"Now why would I be mad, I've always wanted this to happen." His smile got bigger, and she just couldn't hold it in any longer. "Soarin, I have to tell you something, how I feel about......"

  He put his hoof over her mouth again, "Don't say it, show me how you feel." They looked into each others eyes and started to lean in close. "I'm about to kiss Soarin!" she thought to her self, seconds before their lips touched.

  Their lips were inches away from each other. Then Rainbow Dash couldn't take it anymore, she pushed her face towards his. Their lips met, she closed her eyes. "This feels so right." She thought to her self. Soarin then pulled her in closer and kissed her deeply.

  They slowly pulled apart, and he smiled, "That was amazing, Dash." Soarin brushed some of her mane out of her face with his hoof.

  Rainbow Dash smiled and gave him a second kiss and she sat up. "Wait, why did I pass out the other day while I was still flying."

  "Well Dash, was you flying all day without taking a break or eating." Soarin sat up, and moved in front of her.

  Rainbow Dash sat and started to think. "Well, I wanted to practice to join you guys, but I didn't think I needed to take a break." Then her eyes went wide. "It's my fault that you got hurt. If I would have just..." She put her face into her hoofs.

  Soarin put his hoof over her, "No, it's not your fault. I chose to save you, so if its anypony's fault, then its mine."

  Rainbow Dash put her face into his chest, and put her arms around him. "But your left wing is broken. You won't be able to fly for a while." She started to lightly cry.

  Soarin pushed her back gently and lifted her face to him. "It may be broken, but It wasn't your fault. Anyway, who needs to fly, when I can just stay here with you."

  Rainbow Dash's starts to blush, "You can stay here till it heals, and I won't leave your side till its healed and you can fly again."

  "I would love to stay here, just you and me."

  Rainbow Dash got out of bed slowly, "Are you hungry? I can see if i have anything."

  "Do you have any apple pies?" Soarin slowly laid back down.

  "Umm, no sorry, but I can run out and get one. I'll be back in a minute." She went to the door and jumped off her house and flew towards  Sweet Apple Acres.

  Soarin sat up after Rainbow Dash left, "Well, how am I going to tell the other Wonderbolts that I won't be able to fly in the next show. Well it's worth it to know that I saved Dash." He sat up and got out of bed, and stretched out his wings. Then he felt a very sharp pain in his left wing.

  "It really is messed up pretty bad. I didn't know it was this bad." He put his wings back down, and walked into the main living room. He walked by a mirror, then walked back to it.

  "I need to take off my Wonderbolt suit, better be careful. Don't want to hurt my wing." He slowly pulled off his suit and laid it on the back of the couch. Then he heard a door open, and in walked Rainbow Dash.

  "I have your apple pie, Soarin." She laid it on a table, and looked over at Soarin.

  Rainbow Dash's eyes went wide again. Soarin's skin was the same color as hers, and his cutie mark was a apple pie with a lighting bolt through it. He looked better and cuter with out the suit.

  Soarin looked at her and laughed, "What, first time seeing a Wonderbolt without their suit on." He smiled, and walked closer. "Mmmm, that apple pie smells great. Is it ok if I eat it now."

  "Umm, sure its all yours." She laughed and turned around, "I'll be back in a few hours, I need to go help AppleJack collect apples."

  "Ok, hurry back." Said Soarin between bites of his pie.

  Rainbow Dash smiled and turned around and walked out the door.

  Soarin finished his pie and picked up the plate, and carried it to the kitchen. Then he walked up stairs and crawled into bed, "Now how am I still tired, I had at least a few hours of sleep."

  He rolled onto his back carefully, and fell asleep thinking of Rainbow Dash.

4 Hours later

  Soarin awoke to something on top of him, he looked down to see that Rainbow Dash was asleep on him. He smiled, "This is what I like to wake up to." He put his hoof over her, and embraced her.

  Rainbow Dash flew down towards her house and landed on the steps. She was already half asleep, helping AppleJack had taking longer to do than she thought it would.

  She walked towards her room, and was trying to not fall over. She couldn't see Soarin anywhere, so he must have went to her room to sleep. She walked into her room and looked at her bed.

  She smiled weakly and walked towards the bed. She climbed onto the bed and lay next to Soarin. She tried to fall asleep but she just didn't feel right. Then she had an idea, she slowly climbed onto Soarin and laid her head on his chest.

  She started to fall asleep on top of Soarin.

  Soarin loved waking up to her on top of him. He decided to let her sleep, but he was ready to get up. So he slowly laid her on her side and kissed her gently on the forehead.

  He walked over to the window and watched the clouds outside. "I think I should stay here, and marry Dash. I wonder if she would say yes. Once my wing heals, I should go find a marriage band." He turned around and looked at Rainbow Dash.

  Soarin smiled, "I never thought this would happen, I never I would be with the pony of my dreams." He walked over to the bed and laid back down and got behind Dash. He put his hoof over her and laid there.

  This was the first time in years that he had been truly happy.

  Rainbow Dash opened her eyes, and blinked 3 times. She was on her side, and there was something warm behind her. She looked down and saw a hoof over her midsection. She smiled as she realized that Soarin was behind her, asleep.

  She lifted up his hoof and crawled out of bed. She looked over at him, "He's going to be hungry once he wakes up. I should go get a apple pie for him." Her face brightened up; "That would make him happy, to wake up to see me holding a apple pie, just for him."

  Rainbow dash put her hoofs to her face, gave a quiet squeal, and ran out the door.

  "I wonder if me and Soarin will get married. That would be so.... NO Rainbow Dash, there is no way he would want to marry you. ..Well, we did kiss, and he seems to like sleeping with me, but he could just be doing it because he feels sorry for me. He will never want to marry me; who would marry me? No pony, that's who." She gave a loud sigh.

  Once she landed in Sweet Apple Acre, she walked towards the barn. She looked around, and said "Hey, Applejack, you here?"

  "Well hey there, Rainbow Dash, how's everything going?" Said Applejack as she walked out of the barn.

  "Hey Applejack, I need a favor. Do you have any fresh apple pies that you could give me?"

  Applejack walked back into the barn and brought out a freshly baked pie. "Here you go, Rainbow." She handed Rainbow Dash the pie.

  Rainbow Dash picked up the pie and put it in her bag. "Thanks, Applejack."

 "Hey Rainbow, why do you keep asking for apple pies? This is the first time you have ever wanted anything from the farm."

  "I...uhhh... I guess I just suddenly have a taste for them." She gave a nervous laugh.

  Applejack looked at her. "Are you hiding something, Rainbow?" She asked with a slight glare.

  "What could I be hiding? I just like pies now." She turned to leave.

  "Come on Rainbow, I can tell you're hiding something. You're hardly around anymore, and you're not acting like yourself." Said Applejack as she walked in front of Rainbow Dash.

  "If I tell you, do you promise to not tell anypony else?"

  "Yes, I promise. Now just tell me."

  "Ok, here's the full story. I was flying over Cloudsdale and I was being followed by a pegasus named Soarin, from the Wonderbolts.Then later on while I was practicing, I started feeling sick, and I passed out in mid-air. Soarin somehow caught me before I hit the ground, but he crashed into the ground. Now his left wing is broken,  so I'm letting him live at my house till he heals. That's why I keep wanting apple pies, they're his favorite thing to eat."

  Rainbow Dash took a breath, and looked at Applejack. She looked like she was trying to process everything she had just said.

  "So his wing is broken, and you're letting him live at your house while it heals." Said Applejack, but then she had a grin on her face. "Let me guess, you also like him."

  Rainbow Dash blushed, "Well... Uhhh... I guess so. He is cute and nice." Then Rainbow Dash's eyes went wide. "Oh no, I have to get home before he wakes so I can surprise him." She jumped up in the air and started flying towards her house.

 "That crazy pony." said Applejack with small laugh.

  Rainbow Dash looked back and said, "I heard that."

  Ten minutes later, Rainbow Dash landed on the steps to her home. She started walking towards her room, and she pulled out the pie. Once she walked into her room, she was pleased to see that Soarin was still asleep. She walked over to him and put the pie down.

  Soarin felt something nudging him. He opened his eyes to see that Rainbow Dash was standing in front of him, he gave her a small smile, "I love waking up to something beautiful."

   Rainbow Dash blushed and said, "I have something for you Soarin." She reached behind her and brought out a freshly baked apple pie.

  He sat up and smiled, "Did you go all the way to Sweet Apple Acre to get that just for me?"

  "Yep, just for you." she sat it down and nudged it towards him.

  "Thanks Dash." He said as he picked it up and put it on the floor. "Don't want to get your bed dirty." He said with a laugh as he started to eat the pie.

  Rainbow Dash watched Soarin eat the apple pie, smiling the whole time. Soarin finished the pie and looked up, "That tasted great Dash, thanks for doing this for me."

  Rainbow Dash Smiled, "Oh, it was nothing."

  Soarin walked over to her and gave her a two "armed" hug, "Well, it means a lot to me knowing that you would go out of your way just to make me happy."

  Soarin pulled back a little and gave her a small kiss.

  Rainbow Dash started blushing.

Two weeks later.

  Soarin woke up and slid out of bed. He stretched out his wings; his left wing had fully recovered. He looked around; Rainbow Dash wasn't in the room.

  "I should go to Ponyville, look in a few of the stores, and see if i can find what i'm looking for." He went outside, and was about to take off, when he saw Rainbow Dash flying towards him.

  He stood there waiting for her to get to him.

  "Hey Soarin, good to see that your wing is better. Where are you going?" She said as she landed next to him.

  He smiled, "Oh, no where, just going to fly a little."

  She smiled, "Ok, I'm going to fly around also. Maybe we will run into each other."

  Soarin laughed, "We may run into each other. Well I'm off. See you later, Dash."

  "Yeah, see you later Soarin." Said Rainbow Dash as she walked towards the edge. She jumped off and flew towards Cloudsdale.  

  "I wonder what he's really up to." She said as she landed on a random cloud. She looked back, "Ummm, should I follow him?" She sat there for a few seconds, "Yeah, I should, we may be able to fly together."

  She started flying after him, but staying far enough away so he won't know she's there.

  He landed at a jewelry store and walked in.

  "What could he be doing here, is he trying to find something or somepony?"

  She landed on a cloud and watched the front door. Soon he walked out with a box between his teeth. He looked around and jumped up and started flying towards her home.

  She started to follow him, but let him be far ahead of her.

  Once he landed at her house and walked inside, Rainbow Dash landed behind him and walked inside slowly. She could see him, but then she heard something upstairs. She walked upstairs and towards her room.

  When she walked in, Soarin was laying the box down on the table.

  "Hey Soarin, what are you doing?"

  Soarin jumped up and moved in front of the box, "Uhhh, I have to ask you something."

  She walked over to him,"Ok, what is it, Soarin?"

  Soarin sat on his hind legs and put the box on his hoof, "Rainbow Dash..." He opened the box to reveal a wedding band,"Will you marry me?"

  Rainbow Dash's eyes went wide and her mouth hung open.

  "OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH"
She thought before saying her answer.

  Soarin was starting to think she was going to say no. "I knew I shouldn't have done this, she's going to say no. Then she will never speak to me again."

  His eyes were slowly filling with tears, this was a mistake.

  Rainbow Dash looked at him in shock, "Calm down Rainbow."
She started to shack with excitement and happiness, "Soarin."

  Soarin looked up, with a slight sad expression on his face.

  "YES! Yes I will marry you, Soarin" She said with a excited voice.

  Soarin jumped up and hugged her tightly.

  Rainbow Dash smiled and put her arms around him. He pulled back slowly and kissed her deeply.

  She felt his tongue slide into her mouth. She pushed her tongue into his mouth.

  Soarin pulled back and smiled. "What now."

  Rainbow dash looked back at him. "I don't know, how do we tell everypony about us."

  "I don't know. We could have a private wedding, but we would need somepony that can be a witness."

  "Well I told my friend Applejack about us. I guess she could be the witness."

  Soarin smiled, "Then it's set, we will get married with your friend as our witness. When should we get married."

  "I want to get married as soon as possible, so how about next week."

  "I know somepony who can be the priest. Lets start getting every thing ready."

  "Ok, I'll go tell Applejack."

  Rainbow Dash let go of Soarin and started walking towards the door.

  "Hey Dash."

  "Yeah Soarin." Said Rainbow Dash as she turned around. When she turned around, Soarin held the wedding band.

  "I think we forgot something." He said with a smile.

  "Oh, almost forgot that." She said with a laugh.

  She walked over to him and held up her hoof for him. Soarin clamped the band on her hoof.

  He smiled, "Now it's official."

  Rainbow Dash held up her hoof and smiled, "I never though I would wear a wedding band." She almost squealed but held it in.

  She gave Soarin a quick kiss and headed out the door, time to tell Applejack.

  Once Rainbow Dash left, Soarin jumped and landed on the bed on his back. "I'm getting married, to Rainbow Dash. I never though this would happen. Now how am I going to tell the other wonderbolts."

  Soarin sat up and almost had a heart attack, "OH NO, I forgot all about the other wonderbolts. I haven't talked to them since I saved Dash from hitting the ground."

  They probably think he quit, how was he suppose to explain this to them.

  Rainbow Dash landed on the farm and ran up to the barn looking for Applejack.

  "Applejack, are you here, I need you to do something for me."

  "Well well, Rainbow Dash what brings you here. Do you need more apple pies for Soarin." She started to laugh, but then she looked down at her hoof and saw a wedding band.

  "Rainbow, are you and Soarin getting married?" Said Applejack with a slight smile.

  Rainbow Dash blushed slightly, "Ummm, yes. He just purposed today, but the reason I'm here is, we need a witness to our marriage. So we chose you, will you do it."

  Applejack looked at her with a small smile. "Well sure I will, anything for my best friend."

  "Thanks Applejack, I'll come get you when we are about to get married"

  "Ok Rainbow." Then she laughed, "You know Rainbow, I always knew you would marry a Wonderbolt."

  Soarin paced back and forth on the floor. "What do I do, I can't be a Wonderbolt and marry Rainbow Dash at the same time. I can only chose one. I love being a Wonderbolt but I also love Rainbow Dash."

  He sat on the edge of the bed and a tear rolled down his cheek. "I know what I must do." He stood up, and walked over to a desk. He pulled out a piece of paper and a pen. He started to write a note to Rainbow Dash.

  As he wrote, a tear rolled down his cheek and onto the paper.

  He then left the note on the desk and put on his Wonderbolt suit. He walked out of the house and started to fly towards the Wonderbolt's HQ, tears running down his face.

  Rainbow Dash arrived home a hour later. Once she walked up to her room, Soarin wasn't there. She looked around and saw a note on her desk. She walked over to the dest and looked at the note. The note said:

Soarin

  Rainbow Dash looked at the paper in shock and horror. She backed away and tripped over her back hoof. She fell to the floor and started to cry uncontrollably.

  "I knew this was to good to be true, I shouldn't have fall in love with Soarin."

   Then she heard a door open downstairs, she slowly sat up and wiped her face with her hoof. She watched the door to her room.

   A few seconds later, Soarin walked in with his Wonderbolt suit on. He looked over at her and his eyes went wide.

  "Dash! Are you ok?" He said as he ran over to her. He hugged her with both "arms."

  "I read your note, I though you was leaving me to go back to the Wonderbolts." She said as she sobbed into his chest.

  "No, I meant I was quieting the Wonderbolts so I could be with you. I think I worded that note wrong. I'm sorry Dash."

  She sat back and looked at his suit. "But you still have your suit."

  "I know, I kept it as a reminder of my past life." He said smiling.

  "So we are still getting married?"

  Soarin smiled and embraced her in a loving hug."Yes, that's what I've always wanted."

  She kissed Soarin deeply. "Life will be different once we are married and living together. Won't it Soarin?'

  "Yes, and I can't wait."

Four days later.

  Rainbow Dash sat on a bench in a rainbow colored wedding dress."Only a few more minutes before you get married Rainbow dash." Said Applejack with a big smile.

  Rainbow Dash looked up and smiled. "I've been waiting for this day for a long time."

  Soarin was standing at the alter waiting for every thing to begin.

  "Are you ready for this Soarin?" Ask his friend who was the priest for the wedding.

  "Yes, I've been nervous about this, but I'm ready."

  Then the music started and out walked Rainbow Dash.

   Soarin's breath was taking away at how beautiful she looked.

  "Yep, I'm ready to start a new wonderful life." He said with a smile.
