Apologies on thin ice

"Hahahaha! I'm just kiddin' ladies, you know I love you!" And with that, DJ was gone with a silent pop. To say the ponies in the room were confused was an understatement.

Scarred for life is a much better one.

Pinkie's hair was deflated. Rainbow Dash and Applejack both wore faces rhat spelled out hatred, distrust, and a want to buck the living shit out of the human. Rarity fainted after the first act. Twilight' jaw was laying on the floor. Celestia was frowning, mentally cursing herself for not checking what songs would be performed.

Luna and Fluttershy wore similar expressions. Tears running down the sides of their faces. A similar thought going through their head. 'Why?' What was different, however, was how they reacted. Fluttershy would start bawling, wrapping into a ball while her friends would try and calm her down. They would rub their hooves on her back, tell her it was alright, throw empty threats about the human, and would be by her side.

But Luna, would lay in her room, tears staining the dark blue sheets. Alone. Her sister would be dealing with the rebelious human. Twilight would be with Fluttershy. Cadence would be with Shining. And Blueblood would be complaining with his 'friends' about the monster. She would be all alone to sulk.

"Princess..... what was that?" Twilight asked, shaking herself back into reality.

Princess Celestia shook her head. "I don't believe DJ was thinking logically. I will find the purpose behind that display."

As she stood, teleporting to DJ's room, the ponies slowly left the large room. Fist the nobles, then the servents, the musicians, the six, and then Discord.

Luna sat in silence before her horn ignited, sending her to her room. Laying on the bed, she let all the emotions flow.

"What was the reasoning behind that?" Celestia asked as DJ opened the door to his room.

"Fear is a powerful tool, if I can make everypony here scared for their life when I walk by, then I can guarantee my own safety." He swung the door open, trying to slam it on the monarch, buy failed when magic stopped the rapidly accelerating door.

"DJ... I can't say I understand, and I can't say I know you on a personal level, but I know this isn't you."

DJ went to say something, but stopped himself. He looked at the ground, kicking some of his clothes over to his bags. "I'm taking a shower." He shed his clothes, all but shorts, and closed the bathroom door. Celestia walked over to it as the water started up.

"You are much more kind than what you are showing. Why are you acting like this?"

"Oh, I don't know, because I hate it here maybe?"

Celestia lowered her head. "Be that as it may, you are here to stay. I can't change that, and neither can you. And we both know it. You might as well try and cope with it. Everypony now knows you are here, so I can't keep you in the castle and the spa. You can leave whenever you want. But, you have nowhere to go..." A thought,  popped into her head, but was cut off before she could speak it.

"Don't you fucking dare send me to learn about the magic of friendship with the elements. I had plenty back home."

     Celestia frowned. "How did you..."

"Ring won't come off, stuck for half an hour. I am still learning everything about it.... so that's why you like bananas..."

Celestia shook her head. "Regardless of wether or not you had friends back home, you need friends here. And from what I can tell, you really scared Luna." The only sound was the water running through the pipes and hitting the floor. "She was trying to be your friend."

     "Yeah..."

"I think there is still a chance to regain your relationship with her, even make one with Twilight and her friends."

"I'll mend Luna's, but not touching the elements." There was more silence.

"You really scared Fluttershy... she's in her room with her friends crying, they are trying to calm her down."

"Good, dumb whore shouldn't have used her stare on me... wait a second..." a black aura of light came from the backside of the door, along with a loud gasp. The water was shut off, and before Celestia could react, a naked, soaked, DJ burst through the doors. "I'm comin' baby!"

Celestia teleported in front of DJ. "Where are you going?"

"Listen, unless you want some Arabian goggles, I suggest that you move, I have magic telekenisis shit now! I can fix Lil' Red!" DJ puahed her out of the way, continuing his decent to where his S10 was being held. Celestia followed close.

"And how do you plan on getting the scientists to leave it alone long enough for you to fix it?"

"I have a plan, just leave me be!" DJ ran faster, as Celestia followed him, until DJ threw open the doors, all the scientists continued to prod at the machine. "Hey!" He screamed. All the scientists turned to him. He grabbed the base of his member, rotating it in a circular motion. "Get to the choppa!" He screamed in a thick accent, causing everypony, even Celestia, yo wince.

"What are you doing?" She asked, trying to keep her eyes locked on his own eyes. It was like a train wreck, you don't want to look, but can't look away.

"Get out!" He yelled, swirling the member, almost hitting a scientist in the head. They complied rather quick. DJ smiled. "Perfect." He snapped his fingers, and he was fully clothed. "I'm gonna miss this..." he turned to the truck. "Alright, what've we got here..."

Celestia peered over his shoulder, watching him as he bent the metal back into place with his black magic. He wore a smile she had never seen. He looked like a foal, who just learned he could get whatever he wanted from the candy shop. Celestia couldn't help herself, she smiled too. So, this is what it takes to get him in a good mood?

"Son of a bitch!" He screamed. Or not...

     "What is it?" She asked.

DJ went to his knees, trying to pick something up from the ground. "No! I was so close! Why now!?"

     "What?"

DJ moved over, pointing to a pile of ash on the ground. "Fuckin' ring broke on me, and I was so close to gettin' her fixed!"

Celestia moved next to him. "Maybe I could help you?"

DJ shook his head. "I know this truck inside and out. I could tear it down and put it back together again, in perfect shape. I don't want anyone that doesn't know what they're doing touching her.' He let out a sigh. "Sorry, Red. I tried." He tapped the metal machine with his hand.

"I believe now would be a good time to apologize to Luna?" She suggested.

He shrugged. "Might as well. I have a feeling if I don't, I won't get any sleep at night." He stood up, cracking every bone on his way.

     "That can't be healthy..."

He smiled. "Really? Listen to this shit." He quickly dropped into a squat position, and stood up. A grinding noise filling the air. "I have bad knees, they don't hurt, but I'm surprised I haven't had to get them fixed."

Before Celestia could speak, another deity entered the room. "Can I borrow him? Thanks!" Discord grabbed DJ, and teleported away.

DJ fell to the floor of a dark room, he quickly stood up, looking at his surroundings. A voice rang out. "We had a deal!"

"Have a deal, dumbass." DJ replied flatly.

"You were to make Celestia look like a fool! Now you don't have the ring!"

DJ shifted his weight to his hip. "When did I agree to prankin' her while I had the ring? I just said I'd prank her."

Silence was all that was heard. "How do you plan on pranking her without magic?"

DJ just laughed. "Oh God, you really don't know me." DJ started walking in a random direction. "Although, I have to say, it was pretty badass having that much power. And I don't think I'll be bothered much either."

"Why shouldn't I just scare you then? Right here and now for not living up to your end of the deal?"

"Nothing to fear but fear itself." He stopped and looked around. "Can I get back to Celestia now? We were kinda talking about something important."

     "Give me a reason why..."

"I have alien knowledge. Twilight and Luna would kill you if I went missing."

"Fair enough." A bright light flashed, leaving DJ to cover his eyes, when he came to his senses, Celestia just had a quizzical look on her face.

     "What was that about?"

DJ waved his hand at her. "Nothin'. So, we were apologizing to Luna?"

"You were about to, yes." She opened the door, motioning out.

He sighed. "What do I say? I mean, I probably scared the shit out of her."

Celestia slightly tilted her head. "Surely you've had to mend a relationship before?"

He shook his head. "Nope. Neva."

     "No friendships were broken?"

     "Negative."

     "No mare troubles?"

He kinda laughed. "Negative." He kinda smiled, thinking back to home. "There were a couple things I could rely on to.always be there for me. My mama, my truck... and I don't even have football to fall back on."

She eyed him. "Your football is really that important to you, isn't it?"

He nodded. "Ever since I started, I felt like it was where I belonged. Like it was my calling." He sighed. "The pads on your shoulders, gurtle hugging your legs tight, the adrenaline pumping through your veins. You rely on your brothers to help you, and they rely on you to help them." He looked over at the monarch. "It's a mutual understanding. If a running back gets mouthy with the linemen, all they have to do is sit on their ass, and it's a busted play, the back gets rocked, and the playing field is even again. But I just feel like, if I had the chance, I could do so much more. It Reilly is my talent."

     "So your cutie mark?"

"We already went over this, Celestia. Humans don't get cutie marks."

"But you've never explained the marking on your shoulder?"

DJ rolled up his sleeve. "It's Chinese, for power. Got it in Texas, we had some good friends down there."

She shook her head. "You tell me of all these rules, yet, you've broken every one of them."

He smiled. "In movies and music alone, I've got a couple thousand years in federal prison." They continued their walk in silence. DJ arguing with himself over how to apologize, and Celestia arguing with herself how to help the lonely human. She didn't have a solution when they reached Luna's room. "So, what do I say?" DJ asked, resting his hand on the handle.

     "Just apologize for your actions."

DJ took in a deep breath, then slowly opened the door. "Luna?" He took a step in. "Luuuuunaaaaaa?" He turned to Celestia. "She's asleep..." He walked over to her bed. "Cried herself to sleep..." Celestia saw emotional pain grip DJ. And for DJ, it felt like someone just crushed every bit of faith and hope in himself into the dirt. No... No! Dammit no! I said I would never do this! Never have another in emotional pain! Never cry themselves to sleep over my actions! God fucking dammit! He groaned and grabbed his head. Way to go, asshole, the only one in this place you can stand and now you done gone and fucked her over! You fucking hypocrite!

"DJ, are you alright?" Celestia asked, she could see a glint in DJ's eye. A tear, formed from hatred. Hatred for one's self.

DJ looked at Celestia. "I'll talk to her later." DJ started out of the room. "Don't want to wake her up." He said in a flat voice. And smartass hints in it were gone. Every bit of emotion was washed away from it. It was like a machine was talking, programed lines and phrases.

     "DJ...?"

As he walked out of the room, he looked over his shoulder. "Never again...." he said softly. He grabbed something from around his neck, a silver chain, and cross. Celestia had seen it but twice, and when asked about it, DJ would quickly change the subject. He looked at the jewelry in diguist, before giving a hard yank. He tossed the item on the ground, and walked out of the room. Celestia picked up the necklace from the ground.

"I think that there's more he's not telling us..." She said to herself as she observed the necklace. 'R&D' engraved on the back. "Much more." Next Chapter: Reversed feelings Estimated time remaining: 3 Hours, 9 Minutes
