The Grass Isn't Greener on the Other World
Chapter 2: Two
Previous Chapter Next ChapterI have absolutely no idea what had just happened to me.
Whatever I'd done must have affected everypony else because... there are no ponies.
"Twilight!" Rarity!
My dear friend Rarity runs up to me. She is a human also. What a relief! I'm not the only outcast.
"What's happened?! Why am I walking on my hind legs! And why do I look... simply gorgeous?"
I roll my eyes. Typical Rarity.
She has the most beautiful, short white strapless gown and at the lower right corner of it is a design that used to look like her cutie mark. Three diamonds. It goes perfectly with her, still purple, hair.
"I don't know. I was casting a spell and then this happened!"
I just noticed another thing. This wasn't Ponyville. I read a sign that says: New York City.
"New York? What's a New York?" Rarity questions me.
"I don't know. Maybe we can ask... her."
We saw a girl who was continuously tapping an electronic device with both her thumbs. Her dark brown hair is shining in the bright, blinding, sunlight.
"Excuse me, miss." Rarity says as we approach the young woman.
"Yeah?" She asks, her voice sounding like she's annoyed.
What have we done? All we did was ask her a question.
"Do you know where we are?"
"Duh. You're in an awesome city called: New York City which is located in New York, USA."
"USA? That means, we're not in Equestria anymore!" I exclaim. Rarity just stares at the woman.
"Very well then. Thank you for your time." Rarity shoos the girl away with her pale hand.
She awkwardly runs away from us.
RING!
Rarity and I jump at the sound of the tone.
"I-It's coming from your pocket!" My snooty friend screams.
Everypony -everyone- is staring at us. I blush in embarrassment and answer the device. I press a green button which probably means answer.
"Hello?"
"Twilight! What happened?! I was working on another Sonic Rainboom for the Wonderbolts, when my wings disappeared and I fell on a crowd. But the thing is, they weren't ponies!" Rainbow Dash hyperventilates.
Someone really needs to catch up.
"Listen, Rainbow Dash, calm down. We'll be right over!"
Somehow, Rarity and I managed to find Rainbow Dash's apartment. It seems that everything having to do with magic has disappeared.
I knock three times on the mahogany door in front of us. The apartment number is 69.
Rainbow Dash opens the door but like Rarity and I, she is no longer a pony. Only she looks like a 17 year old girl. She leans on the door.
The color of her top is like her rainbow mane that she once had. Rainbow is wearing denim shorts and with her hair in a ponytail. Her shoes are very simple and athletic-like.
"Rainbow Dash! You look... smashing!" Oh Rarity, you and your creative compliments.
I have to say though, Rainbow has never looked girlier in her life. Other than the time we went to attend the Grand Galloping Gala in Canterlot. Which was a disaster, if you wondering.
"Uhh... thanks?"
Obviously, Rainbow doesn't know what a compliment is.
"Renee, who's at the door?" I hear a male voice call from inside the apartment.
"Who's Renee?" I ask. I've never heard of such a name like that.
"It's, supposedly, my name." Rainbow responds.
"Rather strange if you ask me." Rarity snorts.
Rarity thinks every name is "odd" or "strange" because she thinks her name is the best in the universe.
"Let's talk tomorrow at school." Rainbow says and quickly slams the door in our face.
"School? What exactly does she mean by that?"
We grown up ponies don't go to school. Only when were fillies. But I guess humans have to go school any time.
