I picked a pretty cliche title now didn't I? XD
One
I shut the doors and windows to my tree library and home with my unicorn magic.
"No distractions," I say as I head towards my special concentration book.
I lay down with my purple legs below me.
"TWILIGHT!"
I stare daggers at my baby dragon and loyal assistant, Spike.
"Spike, I love you and all but please go away."
This is a time that I don't need Spike around.
"Sorry. I know you're busy with you're magic and..."
Spike looks around. Then he sees my angry expression. He laughs nervously.
"I... I should, like, get going."
"Yeah you should. Like, NOW!" I say angrily.
Spike looks at me with guilt in his eyes. Tears start to fill his eyes and he leaves with his scaly head down.
I feel a little bad for yelling at Spike but he deserves it. I've done this concentration exercise a billion times and Spike should know not to bother me.
Everypony in Ponyville understands how important this is for me. And I've only been here for an entire year!
I hear hoofs knocking on my front door. I groan.
Can I ever get some peace and quiet?!
"Twilight!"
My five mare friends, Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy gather around me as they enter the library.
"Hi ladies. Sorry to be rude but please go. I'm in the middle of something."
Ever since my little scene with Spike, I'm trying to be nicer when I kick ponies, or dragons, out.
"Oh, we understand, Twilight. Your studies come first." Fluttershy mutters under her breath. She's shyly hiding behind her long, soft, pink mane.
"I'm not studying girls. Princess Celestia sent me a spell! A new spell! It's supposed to cure and overcome anything!"
Princess Celestia, our ruler of Equestria, had sent me this spell a while back. She said she wanted me to try something new. I'm determined to try now.
"Well, outta' do yer best, Twilight!" Applejack calls.
Everypony follows her out of my tree house.
I smile. They're so kind.
I walk to the place I was before and lay down.
"Alright, back to business."
I read the book and close my eyes. My horn starts to glow a bright pink and I try my hardest to imagine what the spell would look like if my concentrating worked.
Suddenly, I hear a crash. My violet eyes open and I see a bright, white light getting dimmer and dimmer every second.
Instead of looking at the inside my tree home -which is usually a library filled with books- I'm in some kind of fancy place. Maybe even fancier than Canterlot Castle!
"Spike!" I call out.
No answer.
I run towards the door and when I open it, I don't see Ponyville anymore. No ponies whatsoever. But instead, these two legged creatures walking and they are smiling and greeting each other. I look down at my pony body but instead it was replaced by a... human body.
I scream. What could I have done wrong?
Two
I have absolutely no idea what had just happened to me.
Whatever I'd done must have affected everypony else because... there are no ponies.
"Twilight!" Rarity!
My dear friend Rarity runs up to me. She is a human also. What a relief! I'm not the only outcast.
"What's happened?! Why am I walking on my hind legs! And why do I look... simply gorgeous?"
I roll my eyes. Typical Rarity.
She has the most beautiful, short white strapless gown and at the lower right corner of it is a design that used to look like her cutie mark. Three diamonds. It goes perfectly with her, still purple, hair.
"I don't know. I was casting a spell and then this happened!"
I just noticed another thing. This wasn't Ponyville. I read a sign that says: New York City.
"New York? What's a New York?" Rarity questions me.
"I don't know. Maybe we can ask... her."
We saw a girl who was continuously tapping an electronic device with both her thumbs. Her dark brown hair is shining in the bright, blinding, sunlight.
"Excuse me, miss." Rarity says as we approach the young woman.
"Yeah?" She asks, her voice sounding like she's annoyed.
What have we done? All we did was ask her a question.
"Do you know where we are?"
"Duh. You're in an awesome city called: New York City which is located in New York, USA."
"USA? That means, we're not in Equestria anymore!" I exclaim. Rarity just stares at the woman.
"Very well then. Thank you for your time." Rarity shoos the girl away with her pale hand.
She awkwardly runs away from us.
RING!
Rarity and I jump at the sound of the tone.
"I-It's coming from your pocket!" My snooty friend screams.
Everypony -everyone- is staring at us. I blush in embarrassment and answer the device. I press a green button which probably means answer.
"Hello?"
"Twilight! What happened?! I was working on another Sonic Rainboom for the Wonderbolts, when my wings disappeared and I fell on a crowd. But the thing is, they weren't ponies!" Rainbow Dash hyperventilates.
Someone really needs to catch up.
"Listen, Rainbow Dash, calm down. We'll be right over!"
Somehow, Rarity and I managed to find Rainbow Dash's apartment. It seems that everything having to do with magic has disappeared.
I knock three times on the mahogany door in front of us. The apartment number is 69.
Rainbow Dash opens the door but like Rarity and I, she is no longer a pony. Only she looks like a 17 year old girl. She leans on the door.
The color of her top is like her rainbow mane that she once had. Rainbow is wearing denim shorts and with her hair in a ponytail. Her shoes are very simple and athletic-like.
"Rainbow Dash! You look... smashing!" Oh Rarity, you and your creative compliments.
I have to say though, Rainbow has never looked girlier in her life. Other than the time we went to attend the Grand Galloping Gala in Canterlot. Which was a disaster, if you wondering.
"Uhh... thanks?"
Obviously, Rainbow doesn't know what a compliment is.
"Renee, who's at the door?" I hear a male voice call from inside the apartment.
"Who's Renee?" I ask. I've never heard of such a name like that.
"It's, supposedly, my name." Rainbow responds.
"Rather strange if you ask me." Rarity snorts.
Rarity thinks every name is "odd" or "strange" because she thinks her name is the best in the universe.
"Let's talk tomorrow at school." Rainbow says and quickly slams the door in our face.
"School? What exactly does she mean by that?"
We grown up ponies don't go to school. Only when were fillies. But I guess humans have to go school any time.
Three
(3rd person POV)
Twilight Sparkle's eyelids open slowly as she gets up from her cozy bed. Only wishing to go back to a deep sleep. If there weren't any school that day, she would. Twilight looks around. This is her room. A bedroom full of scienc-y posters, theories and post it notes that are infesting the walls. The paint color is black, representing the darkness of outer space. Little dots of white are supposed to represent the stars. There are no planets present. Twilight approaches to her vanity mirror. Her reflection shows a girl with a purple and pink bed-head. She is wearing a top that has an image of the constellation, Ursa Minor, and says: Ursa.
"Ugh, I look a mess. Better get ready." Twilight says lazily as she goes into her closet, rummaging through it to find an outfit suitable for her first day of high school.
A blinding white light appears from the window and disappears in a flash. Twilight comes out of the closet with an outfit already picked out.
After a few minutes of changing out of her sleepwear, Twilight is done getting dressed. She's wearing a dark purple tank top over a long sleeve magenta shirt, a lilac skirt with blue leggings under it. Her shoes are the classic black flats. Twilight's hair is neatly combed unlike the bed-head do she had on ten minutes before.
She walks over to her bed-side table and snatches her many-shades-of-purple messenger bag.
Twilight runs down the stairs in her house and ends up in her kitchen, grabbing a packet of Poptarts. Eating them quickly and without toasting them.
"Twilight is that you?" Twilight hears her mother say calmly as she enters.
Her mother looks just like she did when she was a mare. Lilac and white hair, and white skin. She has a tan robe on which means she had just woken up.
"Are you going to school, dear?"
"Yes."
And with that, Twilight heads for the door and arrives outside. Her neighborhood is like any other. Only it looks more urban than city.
She waits patiently for the bus, taking out a book on Starswirl the Bearded in human form.
"Twilight! Twilight Sparkle!" Her friend Renee {Reh-nay} hollers from across the street. She crosses and hugs Twilight. Renee still looks the same as yesterday. Rainbow dyed hair in a ponytail, blue tank top and denim shorts. Along with her sports shoes. Twilight, looking creeped out, clears her throat.
"Hey Rainbow Dash! It's good to see you!"
Renee looks at Twilight like she had no idea what her purple haired friend had just said.
"Who's Rainbow Dash?"
Twilight Sparkle raises an eyebrow in a questioning way. How could Rainbow Dash forget her name? They talked about it yesterday when Twilight and Rarity went to visit her.
"You-you don't remember?"
"Remember what?"
Twilight is shocked. She just eyes her friend as Renee pops a strip of gum in her mouth.
"You don't remember that we were ponies who lived in Equestria? Ruled by Princess Celestia and Princess Luna? Ring a bell, Renee?!"
Renee only looks at Twilight, confused. It's true that she can't remember because she didn't have the memory in her at all.
Twilight thought back when she was in her closet, going through piles of shirts and pants. The light that had appeared outside must have been some kind of signal that turned the ponies' minds into the mind of teenage girl!
But how come Twilight wasn't affected? Twilight should have been like one of them but she isn't. She remembers everything. From, being a pony to learning the magic of friendship while living in Ponyville. She has to get to the bottom of this. And soon, so she can find a way to go back.
Four
The yellow school bus arrives in front of Renee and Twilight. They aboard the bus together. Renee sits with her friend Applejack, who lives at Sweet Apple Acres which is the first stop the bus makes.
Twilight sees a humanized version of Fluttershy. Like when she was a pony, Fluttershy hides behind her pink hair.
"Hi Fluttershy!"
The shy girl looks at Twilight.
"A-are you t-talking to m-me, Twilight?"
Twilight looks at her timid friend quizzically.
"Of course I am." She sits down next to the pink haired girl and places her messenger bag on her empty lap.
"Who else would I talk to?" Twilight asks, turning to 'Fluttershy'.
"I-I, I don't think you should sit with me."
"Why not?"
"You'll get bullied if you do."
"What?"
The bus halts and opens its doors to let two fancy looking girls in.
Trixie. Just thinking about the girl's name sickened Twilight and made her stomach flip.
"Oh look. It's Francesca! What a loser." Trixie flips her hair meticulously as she and her entourage sit down a bus seat across from them.
It's conspicuous that Trixie thinks highly of herself.
Twilight looks back at Fluttershy. She's hiding behind her long hair again.
"Ooh! Double loser party! It's Twilight too!" Trixie's snooty friend, Elizabeth.
Sniffling sounds come from Francesca.
"Francesca, don't you have anything better to do other than talking to a bunch of tree huggers like yourself?"
Tears start falling out of Francesca's pure teal eyes.
Twilight bursts out of her seat. She can't take any of this anymore.
"Stop! You two need to stop bullying Flu-Francesca! She has potential and she is better than both of you!"
Trixie and Elizabeth stare at Twilight menacingly.
Suddenly, the bus parks in front of the school grounds.
"This isn't over." Trixie mouths as she gets out of the bus.
Twilight grabs Francesca's wrist and pulls her up. They walk out of the crowded school bus.
"Twilight!" Francesca calls out to her friend.
"Yes?"
"Th-thank you for standing up to me like that. I really appreciate it."
"You're welcome!" Twilight beams. She had been complimented and thanked before but hearing it from a human version of Fluttershy made her heart swell.
"Twilight? Twilight Sparkle?"
A young teenage girl with ebony black hair and magenta eyes walks up to Twilight.
"Octavia?" She questions the girl who seems to be familiar.
"It's good to see you again!"
Octavia and Twilight hug each other, noticing each other from the 9th grade.
Octavia --wearing a short, sophisticated-like gray dress and black ballet flats-- spins in delight.
"I remember you! You were in the high school orchestra right?"
"Yes, I was." Octavia nods and smiles sweetly. "Still am."
Francesca stealthily escapes the reunion scene by heading for her first period Spanish class.
"Oh, well I hope I see you later!"
"You too."
Octavia walks away. Twilight turns around only to see Renee giving her a mischevious smile.
"She familiar?"
Twilight blushes embarrassingly. She hadn't realized this until she felt her ears get warm.
"Yup. She's Octavia. We used to be best friends."
Renee gives Twilight an I'm-bored look and leaves.
Who else would Twilight meet form Equestria?
