Chapter 1
My first thoughts were that I was dead, but no that couldn’t be right. My head hurt to much, it hurt a lot actually. “Ohhhh.” I moaned as I woke from the anesthetics. I tried to sit up but I hit my head. “What the-?” I slowly opened my eyes to bright fluorescent lights, squinting I reached up to grab the side of the bed but my hand was stopped by something cold, something hard. Now waking up, I looked around and saw that I was laying in a bed that matched my spine perfectly. Looking past my bed there was a little table in the corner of the room, with a coffee mug and a tablet and something I couldn’t read on it. In the middle of the room was a small note. Rolling out of the bed, still groggy, I fell on my face. Too weak to stand I dragged myself to the note.
I reached out to grab it but I couldn’t pick it up. Quizzically I brought my hands-no my hooves? “Wait I have hooves?” I asked my self, looking behind me I noticed that my back was extended and flat. From what I could see, my back look that of a horse, and was light grey in color, and there were marks on both sides of my flanks. A big black circle enclosing a smaller red dot,
It took some effort but I managed to knock open the note.
“Well if you managed to get this far I think you can make it to the door.”
“What door?” I asked to myself looking around. I was standing in the middle of a glass box with a solid grey wall on one corner. Above the wall was a timer that was counting down, fast. Then with a solid “THWUMP” The wall slowly fell backwards, shattering the glass as it fell. “Ok then.” I muttered to myself as I stepped onto the fallen wall. It felt, weird to say the least. Like it was buzzing with energy. Taking another tentative step forward, then another when suddenly I fell through the wall. “What the- OOF!” I wheezed, looking up I expected to see the hole above me, but instead I saw the glass box. But this time I was outside of it. Getting up I turned around and my jaw hit the floor.
In front of me was an ring, a red spinning ring. Ducking my head down and backing up I failed to notice that I was stepping back onto the fallen wall. The ground dropped out from under me as i was sucked into the hole. But also back to where I landed before. Getting up quicker this time, I moved back to the fallen wall, and noticed that there was a blue ring on this wall. “Ok ok I get it.” I said moving my jaw to one side. Slowly I reached out to the spinning ring. “If I put my hoof in here then.” With a slight warble my hand went through. Looking behind me I confirmed my suspicions. “It should appear over there.” Walking around the glass box I saw a circular door at the end of the room. Moving towards the door I noticed a small oval camera above the door. Pointing down I had to assume that it was disconnected.
Standing in front of the door I raised one of my hooves to the door, trying to keep my balance. When with a sudden “Whoosh” the door split open. Inside the room was a big round button with a dull line running across the floor and ending next to another door. In one corner was a pile of white metal boxes that led up to a tube connected to the ceiling, and out of sight. To my left at the top of the wall, was a big glass window. And inside of the window I could just barely make out the outline of a chair toppled over on its side. “Hello?” I said to the big glass screen “Any one there?” no reply, shaking my head I trotted over to the pile of boxes, and, looking at the button muttered under my breath “This shouldn’t be to hard.”
Climbing to the top of the pile of boxes, I gripped the one at the top between my front pair of hooves and with a hefty tug, the box and I went tumbling backwards. Groaning as I climbed to my feet, I looked at the box. It was a fairly normal box, although made of metal and had glowing blue lines on it, with a circle of lines on the middle. Grunting with effort I managed to push the box onto the button. Trotting past the open doors and down the stairs I saw an elevator waiting for me with open doors. There were no buttons to go up or down just a small circular room with a slightly padded floor. Sighing as I sunk to my knees I looked up at the ceiling and slowly fell asleep, listing to the humming of the elevator.

Chapter 2
With a start I awoke, looking around I saw that the elevator doors were open, there was a dimly lit hallway that led out of the elevator room and at the end of the hallway was a big white neon sign with the numbers 02 in dark black. Cautiously I walked out of the elevator, shaking the sleep from my head. The hum of the neon lights underneath the glass was slightly calming, like that of the elevator. Under the big black numbers was a row of pictures. Each depicting a way to die and was framed by a black square. The only ones that weren’t lit up were two that stated no water and, oddly enough a slice of cake.
Looking to my left there was another circular door, but this one was different. All around the edge of the door were cracks and fissures that spread out from around the door. Walking up to the door I pressed my hoof onto the smooth surface and expected it to slide open. Instead it just sat there. Frowning I pressed harder on the door, when, with an almighty “CRAAAACK!” the wall, the door, the ceiling, and some of the floor fell away. Raising my arms to cover my head so I wouldn’t get hit by falling debris, I laid there. When the dust had settled I saw that I was on a long strip of floor that was connected to the elevator room behind me. I could still see the neon sign from here. All around me was nothing, just a straight drop down into the black void underneath me. Looking around I saw that there was a thin walkway that led to a rectangular door along the side of the wall behind the walkway that I was already standing on.
The only problem was that there was a gap that separated the two walkways. Grunting as I thought of ways to jump the gap, I saw a flash of yellow and pink fly through the air to my left. “Huh?” I exclaimed looking around there was nothing but the empty void. Then the flash appeared to my right. “Hey hold on!” I yelled at it.” “CLANG!” I looked over to the metal walkway and saw a bright yellow Pegasus with light pink hair and blue eyes. “You do not belong here.” She said softly, staring at me with such hatred that I tentatively took a step back. Then before I could answer her she flew up onto the air and slammed onto the bridge again, it shook slightly under her weight. “H-hey stop that, your gonna make it fall. Then how would I get out?” she repeatedly rose into the air and dropped onto the bridge. With a slight groan it bent down ward suddenly, then screeching like a dying animal she dove as hard as she could onto the bridge.
As it collapsed under her weight I backed up and, with a throaty roar I launched myself at her. With a yelp she shot upwards, but she wasn’t quick enough. Clinging to her hair, I dangled there like a fly on the end of a web. “Let go!” she said quietly looking down at me. “Not unless you tell me who you are. . .and why you broke that bridge!” I yelled, with a sigh she drifted to the door and landed. I let go of her hair, but stayed within reach incase she decided to fly away again.
“My name is Fluttershy.” she said flatly, her eyes boring into mine “I run this facility, as of now you and I are the only ones alive.” looking at her I asked “What happened to the others?” she looked away, I saw her shoulders heave a couple times and when she looked back at me there were tears running down her face. “She killed them.” with a sob she sat down, looking at some distant place beyond me she continued. “Just about 4 years ago, why’ll there were others. We were the one responsible for bringing that. . .that abomination.” she spat the last word out like it was poison.
“Things were fine at first, she would handle making the tests and test chambers, and we would study the test subjects. But as time went on she. . .questioned her existence. She found out that she could control the entire facility by herself.” with her tears gone she looked at me and stood up. “At first we didn’t really worry, she just did little things. But soon, as her powers grew stronger. She would cause “accidents” to those who wanted to disable her.” she trotted over to the door, and as I followed she rested her head against it. “We didn’t know what she was really capable of. We were like cave ponies who found a nuclear warhead. The others started to worry, but I said no. Soon others disappeared.” looking over her shoulder as she opened the door she said “We tried to control her, we put these. . .these cores on her that limited her. But each time we put one on another one was killed.” she smiled slightly, but it was loaded with sadness “we even put this one core on, we even thought it would work. But it had the opposite effect. He told her to flood the facility with neuro toxin, and she did.” and with that she left.
Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Shaking my head, I pushed open the door to reveal a long dark hallway that was barely lit be light bulbs hanging down on a chain at irregular intervals, pipes and tubes running on either side making the place look like some large intestine. The occasional burst of steam erupted from one of the pipes on the ceiling, at the end of the hallway one of the bulb was flickering. Walking through the hallway, I kept seeing things moving in the shadows. I heard the running of tiny feet on the pipes above me, the ground felt cold and sticky, like that of a movie theater. I was thinking about turning around when something DID move in the shadows. It was big and made of metal, with one big glowing purple eye, that much I could make out. What I couldn’t was what it was doing. I stood there wide eyed, heart beating so fast I thought it was going to explode. With a shriek it went running off, its foot steps echoing after it. I didn’t know what or who it was, but I suspected that it would be back.
The grey pony couldn’t move her legs. Because she didn’t have any legs, she couldn’t mover her wings because, they too were gone. But what she could move was the building. From the ceiling to the panels on the floor. This was her new body now. At first she enjoyed it, but now, as time dragged on she would do anything to visit her old friends again. She longed to feel the warmth of the sun. Her eyes, no her eye. Her single eye glowed a soft amber at the thought of the sun. Before she was this. . .thing. . .she was known simply as Derpy Hooves. But all that changed when they stole her mind. No, they brain mapped her. Killed the original, used the copy for the machine. No for her. She was the machine and she vowed to kill the pony who put her through such torment. She was watching, waiting for her chance to crush that little yellow worm. Every time she came so close to killing her she somehow escaped but this time she had a new plan. A better plan, so good in fact she was already setting up the preparations for the victory party. . .
My legs hurt. That was the thought that was going through my mind. I had been navigating these halls for hours. I wandered into countless rooms only to find that they were either observation rooms or work cubicles. Either way I was getting tired of this. Walking down a different hallway, I came across a small side room on the right with no walls, that overlooked a big empty room that held a small cube that stood on stilts. On the other side of the hall way was a door with a key pad on it. I couldn’t think of any number combinations so I turned to the door on the right. There was a small set of stairs, about three or four. And beyond them was a long hallway with glass walls on either side.
Moving down the hallway, I noticed how big the room really was. It was huge! I couldn’t even see the other side, let alone the floor. Still looking at the enormous room, I failed to notice the door opening in front of me. “Hello.” said a robotic female voice. Twisting around I gasped. There was this huge cylindrical room. On the left side was a smaller room with a curved ladder leading up to it. On the right was a row of screens, each displaying a different video feed. And in the center was this giant mass of wires and machinery. It was slightly curved with bits of white metal attached at random increments, as if it were armor plating. At the bottom of the wires was a lone light bobbing up and down slightly, no it wasn’t moving. The machine was! Turning its attention to one of the monitors it studied it for a few moments, then with a slight click all of them shut off.
“U-uh hi?” I asked tentatively. It made no response. Moving closer, I said in a louder voice “E-excuse me, but did you say something?” no response “what am I doing, talking to a computer.” I muttered to my self, then slowly it turned to me, and in a low dull tone it said “Hello, I’m sure you don’t know me, but you will soon.” I just stared “I have a very special job for you Target.” she said dully “Wait how do you know my name?” I asked it. “I know everything about you, but, enough about that. Lets get to more important matters, My name is GLaDOS and I want you to kill some one for me.”
Chapter 4
Chapter 4
“W-what?” I stammered. She leaned in close to me, her eye barely a slit “Oh and whys that?” she said. “Because. . .uh. . .I don’t really know who you want me to, er, kill.” I said lamely, looking away I waited for her response she just hung there, not responding. Then, slowly she looked at one of the monitors. “Understandable.” she said, then suddenly all the monitors came to life. Each one showing a different piece of my supposed victim. It was Fluttershy. “This is who I want you to kill, her name is-” “Fluttershy.” I interjected “Yes.” she said slowly. Leaning in really close to me. “And how is it that you two met?” “Well I-” “It doesn’t really matter actually.” she interjected “All that you have to-hold on for a moment.” she rose into the ceiling and disappeared as the lights dimmed. Looking around I couldn’t see a thing, then light exploded from behind me.
Pain was all she knew, all she could think of. She looked down at her self, her eye casting purple light on her metallic body. It was horribly rusted, some of the plates had fallen off and others were so scratched and dented that they shone dully. Her eye had cracked only giving her partial view of her world sometimes she would go to sleep, but then wake up somewhere else. Like someone had taken the wheel why‘ll she slept. With a whine she lifted her chest plate to reveal nothing but wires and gears. At first she liked to watch the little red and green lights go on and off , watch the gears move and whirr like a tiny party in her own chest. But now so much time had past that most of them were silent and still. Lifting her hand she held a green scale wrapped around it was a thin pink string, she could barely remember what or who it belonged to. Why couldn’t she remember her name? She remembers that it had started with a T or was it a P or both? She couldn’t remember, all she could remember though was what her directive was. That was to make sure that no one escaped her home.
“What are you doing here!” said a familiar voice from behind me, turning around I saw the out line of Fluttershy. “I don’t really know, to be honest.” I replied. “Well ok then, I still don’t tru-” the door slammed shut behind her. “Hahahahaha, welcome back Fluttershy.” said the A.I. dropping from the ceiling. “I cant believe that you came all this way, to be locked in my room, and I even have the help of this little fi-muuuuuufiiiins.” the power blacked out for a moment “Sorry about that, now wear where we? Oh yes that’s right, I’m going to kill you now.”
With that the floor around Fluttershy erupted and 15 smiling white bone thin ponies with one red eye, rose up and surrounded her. “heEEloo FRIEEend.” they all said in unison, their cute voices like that of Fluttershy’s but somehow more menacing. With a beep both their flanks spread apart and two barrels protruded from each side. There was a brief silence, then they opened fire. The yellow Pegasus was gunned down in a blaze of yellow and red, her body didn’t just explode it disintegrated. Spraying gore everywhere.
Shaking I fell to my knees, my eyes brimming with tears at the fact that I just witnessed another sentient being get gunned down in front of me. My sobs slowly turned to giggles, then maniac laughter filled the room. Looking down I saw that I had been covered liberally in her blood. Which in turn, started another fit of laughter. “Now that that’s over.” the A.I said, emotionlessly. “There’s one last thing to take care of.” now looming over my small body, I had curled up into the fetal position rocking back and forth on my side. I was dimly aware of a single pair of metallic hooves marching towards me.
“Don’t worry.” it said meekly. Something inside me snapped, as soon as its flanks opened up I was on my feet. By the time the barrels had poked out I was charging head first at it, screaming at the top of my lungs. Crashing into it I braced to of my hind legs against its cold hard body, and rapped my front hooves around one of the flanks. “Wait!” it said shrilly, I didn’t even hear it. With an almighty roar I ripped off the things flank. Grunting I bludgeoned the thing in the head till it stopped making this pitiful whining sound. No longer smiling the other turrets turned towards me, and in unison proceeded to fire at me. Using the dead turrets body as a shield I rammed the closes one, knocking it off balance. The others tried to get away, but I wouldn’t let them. Smashing and crushing they’re delicate frames, until there was one left. Shaking it said “I don’t hate you.” as I grabbed its head and twisted until, with a crack, It ripped off spewing black oil all over my body. Breathing heavily I looked at the carnage that surrounded me, the red blood of Fluttershy mixing with the black mechanic oil of the turrets oddly pleased me.
` Then seemingly out of nowhere another blue ring of fire opened up beneath me. Looking down as I fell I saw a big hulking thing with one purple eye. Grunting as it broke my fall, I blacked out.
Final chapter for book 1
Chapter 5
Eggs, I smelled eggs. Waking up I looked around. Instead of being greeted by white walls and white ponies with red eyes, I was in a small room with blue walls. My room. Looking down I saw that I was human again, with a cry of joy I leaped from my bed and ran downstairs. I could hear someone, probably mom, making breakfast. “Mom you will never believe this cra-” I stopped dead in my tracks. Standing in front of the stove was Fluttershy. She quietly sang to herself as she cooked “W-w-what?” I stammered. Creeping up on her, I cautiously reached out and put a hand on her back. She instantly turned around and I almost vomited. Her face was torn in some places reveling the bone and muscle that lay underneath, rusty bolts encircled her eyes. Her pupils were dilating and contracting rapidly, tears were flowing down her face as she continued her soft melody.
Then with a sickening crack the upper half of her back snapped upwards at a ninety degree angle. The pan of eggs arched in the air and hit the floor, and clattered away. Her front and back legs started to stretch to three times their original length, snapping and cracking as her joints elongated Fluttershy screamed in agony. Her hooves split apart into sharpened segments, then as suddenly as it started it stopped. She silently sunk to the floor. Kneeling down, I reached out and touched her shoulder gently “F-Fluttershy?” I asked. With a sickening crack her arm inverted and grabbed me by the wrist painfully, with a yelp I tried to get away but it was no use. She said something quietly still face down on the floor. “What?” I asked. Her head snapped up at me and screeched “HOW COULD YOU!” she got up on her hind legs and shook me wildly, all the while repeating “HOW COULD YOU!”
“Y-uO heAR *hiss* On wAKe up-P-T-t” I was propped up against a wall, where a tall metallic figure was kneeling before me. Her Purple light cast an eerie glow on the area around me. Gently she poked my face “ThERe we G- NeEd t-tO STAnd P.” its voice kept cutting out and changing in volume in random places. “What?” I asked meekly, looking around. I couldn’t see anything, it was too dark to see past the faint purple light.
“We NEEd to movE t- *hiss* at tHEn?” It asked. “What, wait. . .” I pondered “What?” I was at a lost for words. Making a distressed sound it threw its arms up and walked to the other side of the room. Climbing to my knees, and rubbing along the wall I felt a handle brush against my hoof. “Crap.” I said, noticing that I was back to being a pony. I was about to pull open the door when something hard slammed into my back.
“Whaaf!” turning as I fell I noticed that the thing was standing above me, fist clenched. Its eye dark blue it demanded “Whaaa*hiss* DoiNG!” slowly getting to my feet I had a flash of my dream. Fluttershy’s horribly disfigured face, long arms reaching out for me. “I sAId whAt ArE Yo-*hiss* nOt d-d-DonE *hiss* ing!” With a whimper I ducked down and covered my head with my arms and started to cry, shaking uncontrollably I laid there. It seemed to notice my distress, its eye switching slowly back to purple it sat back. Slowly it reached out, gently touching my shoulder. Even though its hands were cold I sensed warmth in the gesture.
Saying nothing I got to my feet, tears still running down my eyes. It Watched me closely, its purple light following my trek across the room I went to the other side of the room. I groped along the wall until I felt a small box. With the light on I was able to take my surroundings. There was a thin line of black paint drawn across the floor and wall, separating both side of the room. On one side of the room there were books lined neatly along the wall, and a picture of a great white mare with long legs and a crown resting on her head. On the other side of the room were piles of colorful trinkets and other plastic oddities with colorful scribbles and dots. I could just make out the words “life is a party” written dully in red marker above a pile of cups that formed the shape of a mushroom like object.
Moving to the side of the room with the books, I started to read the titles. Reading over the titles, I came across one labeled “Slender Mane”. I could hear the thing shiver as metal clanked together behind me. Turning around, the thing loomed over me with an outstretched hand. With an open palm I saw a folded, torn piece of paper resting there. Reaching out I grabbed the paper and opened it. It had a picture of ten ponies sitting next to each other, all smiling. The one on the far left was Fluttershy, she was smiling with her arms around two other ponies. The one on her right was light pink, with a poofy mane and a large smile blue eyes and balloons on her flank. The one on her left was smiling but had a more serious look to her. She was light purple, her mane which had a dark pink stripe running down one side, was cut evenly above her eyes which were a dark purple, on her flank was a star. Looking back up at the thing, I noticed how it was hunched over, almost sadly. “Wait are you?” looking up at me its eye quickly flashed from purple to blue, then back to purple. “I see.” I said moving closer to it I asked “can you tell me you names?” the thing sat there for a moment. Its iris clenching up so tight that no light escaped from it. “Twiiiiiiiii-*hiss*arKle.” at the hiss she pointed at the light above her. Then her eye switched to blue. “P-P-piNk pAAiY.” she tried to say. “Its ok I think I under stand.” I said I got up and nodded to the side with the books. “Twilight Sparkle, right?” jumping up suddenly she grabbed me, flinching back I expected to be hit again. But instead I felt her squeeze me close to her chest. Wriggling out of her grip I nodded to the other side, “Pink pie.” I said. Her eye switched to blue. Shaking her head she grabbed a handful of rags from the wall, not caring about the cascade of bits that fell on her back. Rearranging the rags she made a crudely shaped Y. “Oh, Pinky Pie.” I said. Jumping up and down she started to flail the rags around, making high pitched noises that I could only guess were her attempts at singing.
Derpy wasn’t done yet though. After she had “disposed” of the two ponies, she felt a sense of satisfaction. But it was short lived. Suddenly an idea popped into her head. She remembered that why’ll she was “talking” with one of her other test subjects she had told her “... more of a belated birthday medical procedure. Well. Technically, it's a medical EXPERIMENT. What's important is, it's a present.” she remembered what she was supposed to do with. . .THAT one. “But” she mused “I guess I could give dear old Fluttershy HER gift. Since she left before I could give it to her.” she looked at the red and black mess on the floor and sighed. If she was going to do this she would have to move fast. Even as she said this the room was waking back up, the instruments moving and whirring at her touch. She slowly filled the tall glass vats with a pink substance. “Yes.” she thought as a small tube began sucking up the blood and gore. “This will work.”
End of book one.
Prolog
PROLOG
“Run!” the Pegasus screamed at her sister. The two twins were running for dear life, running from them. They were white ponies, their red eyes and innocent voices seemed to flow out of every door, every small window. “Wait!” one twin screamed but it was too late. The twin had turned a corner and was immediately gunned down. Her corps laid in the hall, blood pooled around her. The older twin stared in shock, soon she could see the white hoof stepping over her sisters corps. Its red eyes seemed to brighten at the sight of its yellow prey. “HeelloOO friend.” it said. Running back the way she came, she could hear the *snick* of its quad barrels sliding into place. Turning a corner she was immediately greeted by the sight of a door labeled “EXIT” in bright green letters. Tears flowing down her face she ran for the door, when suddenly the door slammed open. On the other side of the door way was a wall of spikes, stopping suddenly as she almost slammed into them she turned around and was about to flee , then she saw that the hallway was filled wall to wall with the white ponies. “Oh no. . .” she sobbed she sank to the floor crying. Her sister was dead. There was no way out, she couldn’t take it any more. All she could do now was cry. She could hear the thunder of hooves as her pursuers ran toward her, but she didn’t care. Looking up and expecting to see them right on top of her when, she realized that they were running away from her.
Standing up on shaky legs she turned around and saw that the wall of spikes was pulling away from the doorway. She was actually thought that she would live, but her bittersweet moment was cut short. With lightning fast speed, the wall of spikes flew towards the Yellow Pegasus. That was the last thing that number 054 saw.
“Same ending, again.” Derpy sighed as she watched the spiked wall impaled the little Pegasus. “Well at least this one was slightly more interesting “Maybe I should start using them in pairs.” she contemplated silently. She reflected back on her fist few experiments. So far the eighth one was her favorite. She added a little note reminding her to watch the video later. A small *beep* sounded and she looked at the monitor labeled 55. On the monitor it showed the little yellow Pegasus stepping out onto the testing grounds. “H-hello?” it asked quietly.
“Hello?” the small Pegasus asked the empty room she took another step. Suddenly the door slammed shut behind her. With a small squeal she jumped back, heart pounding. She had just woken up and had such an awful dream, and now she was in this weird white room with bright lights. She couldn’t remember how she had gotten here, or, for that matter who she was. All she could remember was waking up in a puddle of something sticky and foul smelling. Then a door opened and now she was here. She shivered from the cold. As she crossed the room she noticed a note. Flipping it open it read
“Don‘t trust her.”
“What?” she asked, suddenly the floor before her opened up to reveal a small white thing lying curled up on the ground. Walking over to it she asked in a small quiet voice “U-um.” she asked “H-hello? Are- are you alright?” slowly the thing turned around, the yellow Pegasus screamed. Her eyes were a dark red, and her voice was so innocent. “There you are.” she said as her bare flanks slid open, and with a *snick* four barrels slid into place.
She turned to flee but was thrown to the floor as the bullets impaled her back legs. She cried as she dragged her self away from the white monstrosity, slowly it walked in front of her, whimpering she looked up at the her assailant. With a little “Goodnight.” it fired a single bullet into the Pegasus’s head.
“That one didn’t even try.” she A.I. said to herself. She watched as the dark grey filly walked back and forth, its green eyes surveying everything. Making sure nothing beside her and her master was living in the room. “Belle” Derpy said flatly the grey pony snapped to attention. “Yes ma’am.” she replied. “I want you to go and find a special pony for me.” Derpy sent the image her prey to Belle. “I will go at once but master, who will protect y-” “Don’t worry about me. Just go” Derpy cut off. With that the Grey pony walked out of the room.
Chapter 1 of book 2
Chapter 1
I had to keep quiet; if I didn’t then she would find me. Picking a hole that led behind the pipes that ran through the wall. I sat there listing. Turning my head slowly I watched for her. I heard her before I saw her. The steady rise and fall of metallic footsteps echoed through the halls. Holding my breath as she turned the corner I willed her away. It was no use, as she moved closer I heard her humming a tune. When she was about right in front of my hiding space, she turned suddenly and stared. Her cracked purple eye constricted as if squinting, searching for me. Shaking her head, she left. I let out a sigh of relief. Just as I was about to slip out from the holes she popped back into view.“FoUNd yOOu!” she yelled as she reached in and dragged me out. I fell to the floor and covered my head “No!” I screamed as her arms reached for me. I thought I could hear giggling, looking up through my legs I saw her rocking back and forth on her butt. Gripping her sides and laughing. Getting to my feet, I started to laugh too. “Alright.” I said whipping tears from my eyes “Lets go back, I’m getting tired now.” Its been a few weeks sense I first landed in Twighlight/Pinkamenas room. In the time between then and now, I had gotten a better understanding of how the two became one. Back before the enrichment center was flooded (except for the test subjects stasis chambers) with a neurotoxin, they were the leading test designers. When they received word about the rouge A.I. they knew they had to move fast. They tried to map their minds, so when their real self’s died they would live on. They were in the middle of the mapping process when the gas reached them. Resulting in them losing almost all their memories. Except for the last few minutes they couldn’t remember anything. Unfortunately for them, there was only one completed host. That meant that they would share the same body until either they died or they found a separate shell for either one of them. But there was none, And even if they found one they couldn’t get it to work anyways. She told me as she brought me to a room filled with different parts of disassembled parts. Hanging from the ceiling were gears hung by wires. Along the wall were different parts, kept clean and neat. And in the middle were two small bodies, draped across each other. One was short and bulbous, with high shoulders and short legs. The other was a long and oval shaped body with thin legs and spindly arms. Walking over I noticed how the light changed each time I looked at one. Purple for the oval one and blue for the round one. Turning around I finally noticed how patch work she was. With random bits of metal connected dull white plates. Her head looked like a small fan with three blades along the edge of it. Her eye in the center of the head taking up most of its face. She had no mouth just the eye. Lower down, her body was hunched over with various wires hanging loose and sparking occasionally. Her arms were thin and ample, ending in two hands. The digits of the hands were broken along the knuckles, at the end of the hands were rough pads for grip. Her legs were bent invariantly, ending in different shaped feet. The one on the left being more splayed out in three toe like protrusions. Her right foot was more like a mass of melted scrap metal, poorly welded and barely hanging on.
“Why did you bring me here?” I asked, her eye changed to blue “So weE CAN p*hiss*” back to purple. She laid back and opened her chest plate. “fix” she said as she motioned her hand to her chest, opening and closing her hand, to mimic talking. “You want me to fix your speech problem?” I asked, she nodded her head. “But I don’t know ho-” she cut me off by raising her hand. She motioned to her self, then at me, then back at her self, and made a walking motion with her fingers. “Your going to help me, aren’t you.” I said. She nodded.
Moving towards her, I picked up a flat head in my mouth. It was several hours later when I was finally finished. Stepping back, covered in sweat and oil. I studded her closely. Slowly she stood up and turned to me. “Did it work?” she asked, then suddenly her eye turned blue. “OH OH Let me try! Uh. . . I like cupcakes!” came a high and squeaky voice. Her eye turned to purple. “Yay! I cant believe that I got our voice to come back!” I glared at her, “Er well with some help of course.” she stammered.

Chapter 2
The yellow Pegasus awoke. Shrouded in darkness. The echoing of falling water resonated all around her. A faint sickly, sweet smell wafted into her nose. Climbing to her hooves she meekly called out “Is anyone there?” the darkness gave no answer. Deciding to get out of this scary place, she took a step forward. Suddenly a dim red light began to slowly fill the room. Now being able to see, she saw that her little walk would have been short lived. All around her was a curved glass wall. Under her legs was a small circular grate. She felt something tugging at her stomach. Looking down she saw that some sort of tube was sticking out, and running up to the top of her chamber. As the light grew more of the room was revealed. There must have been four or five other glass chambers, dark objects bobbed up and down inside them. Noticing how wet she was she shivered as the cold air penetrated her fur. Suddenly her vision was suddenly filled with a round orb-like object with a red eye. “Oh, yer awake.” It said with a twang. “Hm, I don’t know why ya woke up but. Here lemme get’cha outta thare.” Moving back, the small orb closed herself eye and, with a shriek. Slammed herself into the glass wall. Glass shattered all around the small Pegasus, cringing she let out a little squeak as a blade of glass cut her cheek.
Moving back and forth, the orb looked like she was losing her balance. Which was an impossibility, because the Pegasus saw that it was moving along a rail. Slowly coming to a stop, the orb looked at her and said “C’mon we gotta get movin, else the boss will find us.” The Pegasus motioned to her stomach, where the tube was still protruding. “Oh.” Was all the little orb said. Several seconds past before she said anything else.
“How far can ya move?” she leaned forward and even that was straining it. Little streams of red flowed from around the tube. “Ok, lemme see what I can do.” With that she left. Several minutes passed when, a slight pop could be felt from within the Pegasus’s gut. Her stomach started to burn, it wasn’t bad at first but then it slowly rose to a white searing pain. Suddenly the tube fell away. Looking down she could see where the tube was attached.
A small bald spot and a dark red scar that ran across her bare skin, the only indication of it ever being there. “Did it work?” came a familiar voice. “yes.” She said quietly, giving a little flutter of her wings. “Arite, jus’sit still, I want to see what yer number is.” As she leaned in, the Pegasus’s mind wandered. She tried to remember how she got here, actually she tried to remember who she was.
Suddenly her train of thought was broken by the orb shouting “Fifty eight!” she declaird turning around the orb was looking at her and repeated “Yer number fifty eight.” Fifty eight, the yellow Pegasus looked at her flank, and plastered there was 58. “Fifty eight.” She rolled the word in her mouth, trying it out.The orb moved up to her face, “Hey I fergot to ask ya, whats yer name?” the Pegasus met her red eye. “I don’t know. . .” the Pegasus admitted. Then an idea burst into her mind. “Actually, I do know.” She said, the orb looked a little confused. “What?” “My name is fifty eight.”
“But I thought that you said you don’t know what yer name is?” she asked. “Wll.” She said “Its tattooed on my flank, so it must be my name.” it made sense to her. “Hey.” She said looking up “What’s your name, if, if that’s alright for me to ask that is.” the red orb concentrated for a moment. “Erm. . .I aint supposed to.” She looked away “O-oh ok I see.” She lowered her head and flattened her ears. “Buuuut.” She giggled “ Rules er’ ment to be broken.” At that 58 looked up “My name is Apple Bloom, did it hurt when I pulled yer bilical cord out?” “N-not really.” said 58. “Ok, now we gotta get outta here.” 58 looked gave a nervous nod. “Do you know somepony ?” she asked as she shakily climbed down from the tube. “Ya! Er well actually more like two ponys.” Apple Bloom shook her head. “But I’ll tell you later, I know where they’r at.” 58 walked up to one of the tubes, Apple Bloom felt a little apprehensive to let her look, but 58 hasn’t seen her reflection yet so she couldn’t possibly. . . “W-who is that?” 58 asked. Nodding towards her clone sister. “Er, its just somepony else.” Apple Bloom didn’t want to tell her that it was her inside of there. “Ok. . . So where are we going to go?” asked 58 “Hm?” Apple Bloom was suddenly broken from her train of thought. “Oh um. Its this way.” Apple Bloom turned and seemed to float out the doorway. “W-wait for me!” 58 called as she trotted out of the room.
Chapter 3 of Book 2
Chapter 3
“HOW COULD YOU!” with a gasp I awoke, my heart racing. I accidentally kicking Twi/Pinky she woke up slowly, looking around, her eye switching from purple to blue. “You still dreaming ab” I cut her off “Yes.” I hissed, “don’t talk about it, I still feel weird about what happened.” Looking back I found that the space of time was missing from when Fluttershy came in and I landed in Twilight and Pinkameinas’s room. What’s even weirder is that I think that I did something to Fluttershy which would explain why I’m constantly dreaming about her. Her eye went blue “If you ever want to tal”
“No, and even if I did I can’t remember anything anyways.” I said holding my head. Twi/Pinky rolled over to me, her eye going back to purple. “What do you remember?” glaring at her I decided that if I’m going to remember it, might as well talk through it. “Ok so I was in this big circular room and” her eye suddenly went to blue “OH OH! And there were four other Ponys and they were grey and brown! And there were streamers and a cake and presents. Right?” I just stared at her, then slowly shook my head. Her eye went back to purple. “ Let her finish.” “I was in this circular room when. . .” I told her about what had happened, about the rouge A.I. at that they wanted to know her name but, I couldn’t remember it. “Then {name here} came in. the rest is all a blur. I remember falling and landing on something hard, I’m guessing that was you.” She thought for a moment. Screwing up her eye. Then she looked up at me slowly. “Wa-Was its name Derpy?” I shook my head “Ok. . .what about GLaDOS?” I thought for a moment, “I think that’s what it was. Like I said I cant remember.” her eye went blue “Well I know somepony who might just be able to.” she paused for a moment. “She’s He-” but the lights cut off, the echo of an explosion could be dully heard.
*SSSSSSSSSH BOOM* “Damnit I missed.” cursed Sweetie Belle, well actually she didn’t miss. The floor panel had shifted slightly causing her to hit the wall above the two. The two being Apple Bloom and the test subject known as 58. She caught sight of her pink tail twisting around the corner as the smoke settled. She felt her flanks sliding back into place as she started to move. The problem with having guns on your legs is that you have to stand still, or else your likely to end up with shooting yourself. Sighing Sweetie Belle started forward at a light trot. She would find them eventually.
“Wha-wha-wha?” 58 stammered “I dun know wah she attacked us. Not very friendly like,if ya ask me.” Apple Bloom said looking behind the 58. Slowly she peeked around the corner and yelled “Hey! Sweetie Belle stop shooting at us!” a faint, *POP* could be heard followed by a defining screech that 58 knew all too well. Quickly AB ducked her head back around the corner just as the rocket roared past and hit the wall just to our left. “Ah take that as a no.” she muttered. As they ran into a dark room and crouched under a window. AB looked at 58 and said “Ok now look here.” He iris twisted into a tight dot. “When ah run to the left, ya’ll take yer’self and go right. All right?” 58 grabbed AB’s case. “B-but what about you?” AB looked away, “Now ya’ll don’t go aworrien ‘bout me, just keep going right and when you reach a big hole in the wall, just sit tight. One of my friends will find ya.” Then she quickly added “A better friend, not this ol’dog that I thought would put er differences aside for a moment.” 58 looked a little skeptical, she said “But what will you d-“ just then the glass exploded above them, “Come on out guys.” Said a tired voice “I’m starting to get bored with you two.” Quietly AB said “On the count of three, one. . .two. . .THREE!” At three she zipped along her rail to the door, 58 could see her shadow on the floor. “Ya’ll com’n get me.” Apple Bloom yelled. There was another screech as a second missile attempted to de-rail her. Quietly 58 counted to ten, then slowly edged to the doorway. Peeking out she saw that there was no one. Quickly she ran down the hall.
