Chapter One: Vincent Valentine

The trip back to Zecora’s didn’t take too long; there were only a few bumps in the road and they did see something lurking in the shadows (I will use that shadow soon) but they brushed it off as nothing and continued on their way.

Zecora was making a potion when there was a knock at the door. She opened to door and Twilight stood there with Spike beside her.

“Twilight its good to see you!”

“Same here so where is he?”

“Oh Vincent is right over there”

She pointed to the opposite side of her house where Vincent was.

Twilight made a slow trot up to him then stopped about a meter away. She was hesitant to speak at first but eventually did.

“So your name is Vincent Valentine?”

“Yes”

“Well my name is Twilight Sparkle and allow me to be the first to welcome you to Equestria”

“Well… Thank you”

“Is it all right if I scan your body with a bio scan spell?”

“Bio scan spell?” Vincent was confused.

“It won’t harm you all it does is scan your body so I can figure out exactly what you are”

“Oh ok go ahead I guess”

“Ok now just stand still; I promise this won’t hurt”

Twilight’s horn begun to glow a light shade of green and a beam shot out of her horn and hit Vincent’s chest.

After a short while the beam faded away leaving a terrified Twilight in its wake.

“Oh no no no no no this is bad!”

“What do you mean?”

“I realised why you are here”

“So why am I here?”

“To defend this land against your own kind”

“What do mean my own kind?”

“I can’t tell; there was a prophecy that told of a human that would defend Equestria from an army of his own kind. But the pony who predicted it died of old age before he could tell the princesses the other part of the prophecy”

“So when will this prophecy happen?”

“I don’t know like I said the pony who predicted it died”

“What happens now?”

“I will need to do some more research and inform the princess of your presence; this will require you to follow me to my library”

“Ok then lets go”

“Wait a word of warning before we leave ponies have never seen a human before so you will get some weird looks from the townsfolk”

Twilight and Vincent both said goodbye to Zecora and made their way to town. Twilight was right; he was getting weird looks from the ponies in town. Some even ran into their homes and looked through the windows.

When they got to the library Vincent was astonished to see that it was actually built into a tree. Twilight noticed that he was looking at the library and smiled.

“The tree is real; magic is keeping it alive and ponies carved out a large chunk and built the library into it”

The two went in to the library and Twilight nudged Vincent to sit down; he found a chair and did so. Twilight went to one of the many bookshelves and started to look for a book; at the same time she begun to speak.

“Vincent I’ve been meaning to ask you what is that device on your leg?”

She was obviously acknowledging his gun so he took it from its holster and put it on the table next to him. Twilight was intrigued by the guns design so she brought it over to her with her magic. After a while of looking at the design Twilight accidently pulled the trigger causing a loud bang. The loud noise made her drop the gun on the floor. Vincent quickly went over to her and put the gun back in its holster.

At that moment the entrance to the library burst open and a cyan Pegasus came through.

“Twilight are you okay? I heard the noise and…”

The Pegasus looked over at Vincent standing over Twilight.

“Get away from here you monster!”

“Rainbow Dash calm down he…”

Twilight’s pleas were ignored as the pegasus flew full speed at Vincent. He kept on dodging all the attacks that the cyan pegasus could think of. Eventually she got tired but kept on on trying to attack Vincent. Twilight came between them both and used her magic to hold Rainbow dash in place.

“Rainbow calm down!”

“But that thing was attacking you; I heard the noise…”

“Rainbow that was me; I was examining that device on Vincent’s leg when I must pulled something on it causing it to make that noise”

“Wait a sec; who’s Vincent?”

“He is” Twilight pointed at Vincent.

Rainbow went right up to Vincent and jabbed him in the chest.

“Twilight may trust you but I don’t; watch yourself around me bub”

“All right I have to send a letter to Princess Celestia to inform her of your presence; I will be right back try to play nice Rainbow okay?”

Rainbow Dash crossed her arms.

“Hmph… fine”

Twilight couldn’t help but laugh as went into the kitchen to write the letter.

Dear Princess Celestia

I have reason to believe that a prophecy is about to come true; I will need to speak to you in person about this matter.

Please reply as soon as possible.

Your Faithfull Student: Twilight Sparkle.

She put the quill down and went back into the main room. It took some convincing but eventually Rainbow Dash left leaving Twilight and Vincent on their own.

(Meanwhile in the Everfree forest)

“Target acquired”

“Should we activate the portal sir?”

“Understood, standing by for further orders”

“Over and out”

(The next day)

Twilight was woken up by an extremely loud noise which caused her to jump right out of bed.

“What in the name of Celestia was that?”

She opened the bedroom door and saw that a massive chunk of the library was destroyed.

“Oh my… Vincent VINCENT where are you!”

Twilight went downstairs and looked out of the massive hole in her home.

She realised what caused the hole; a pack of manticores. Right after that there was several loud cracks. Twilight looked up and saw Vincent on top of a building shooting the manticores.

“What is he doing?” She thought to herself.

Her mind was blown when she saw him jump across from one building to another one on the other side of the street while in mid-air shooting the manticores. One by one the beasts fell and the remaining one fled. Vincent landed right in front of the hole in Twilights house. He could tell that she was amazed at his abilities.

“Vi… Vincent that was amazing how are you able to do that?”

“When I was younger I was tested on; my body is augmented; which gives me these super human abilities”

“Interesting do you think I could…”

They were interrupted by a blinding light. When it faded a certain alicorn of the sun appeared. Twilights eyes widened and she smiled.

“Princess Celestia!”
