Chapter 39: Chapter 37: Base commander

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

SGM. Clare:

I changed into camouflage battle dress and fitted myself with a shoulder holster for my revolver. I nodded to Aussie and we both walked out of the supply tent.

“Well Aussie… I guess we should uhm. Well you know what? Go tell the stallions at the food tent to get some beers ready for tonight. Or whatever the hell they pawn off as liquor around here” I told him and he nodded then quickly trotted off.

I walked over to the armoury to get myself a new weapon, hopefully they’d have an M1928 Thompson but if not I’d probably get a shotgun. I walked in to see a stallion talking to the armoury receptionist.

“I need enough M16s and ammo for eight stallions and three belts for the M60” the soldier said. “The M16s I can do but we’re short on M60 around here” the receptionist replied. “Aw come on man, we’re going in deep. We’re gonna need that PIG” the stallion pleaded.

“Alright, let me just deal with this guy then I’ll see what I can do for yah” the receptionist said. I stepped forward, “I need an M1928 Thompson with drum magazines” I said and he raised an eyebrow. “Hell I haven’t had a requisition for a Chicago Typewriter in… hell I can’t remember. I think I still have a new one in the back just give me a sec” he said then trotted off into the back.

He soon returned with a crate and popped it open. “Here she is, take care of her” he said and I nodded as I took out the Thompson. It still had Cosmoline lathered on it. I slung it across my back and he handed me four drum magazines and ten stick magazines. “No-pony’s gonna use em so go ahead, knock yourself out” he said.

The other stallion stepped forwards. “I still don’t have that M60 ammo for yah so I wouldn’t bother asking” the receptionist said. I looked to him. If they were going in deep they would need the PIG fully loaded for any chance of survival. “Hey, how much ammo you got left for the M60s anyway?” I asked. The receptionist sighed. “Ten belts” he said shamefully.

“What? Ten belts! That’s it?” I asked and he nodded. “When’s the next supply shipment?” I asked and he shrugged. “The last base commander said he was busy and he’d get to it as soon as possible” the receptionist told me. I took out my note pad and wrote ‘M60 ammo, lots of it’.

The receptionist’s nose scrunched. “Doesn’t do any good reporting it to the base commander, he doesn’t seem to give a shit about any of us” the receptionist said. “Well say hello to your new base commander” I said and he gulped. “Uhm… but you’re just a sergeant major. How are you the base commander?” he asked and I shrugged. “Been asking myself the same question for the last hour” I replied then left the tent but as I did the stallion who had ordered the M60 ammo stopped me.

“Hey thanks man, I owe yah one eh” he said and I gave him a pat on the shoulder. “Yeah no problem” I replied as I walked back out and into the firebase. If things weren’t going so well I better check on everything. I quickly paced along towards the radio broadcast tower.

Inside several ponies were on radios receiving and broadcasting messages. I walked over to the office of the building where a corporal sat. I knocked on the wall and the corporal looked up to me. “Listen, I’m busy so make it quick” he snapped, obviously he wasn’t having a very good day. “I was just wondering if I could help you out in anyway?” I asked and he sighed.

“Well if you could talk to the base commander and get him to get off his ass and finally get us those radio parts we’ve been requesting for the last two months, things would be a lot easier around here” he said in an irritated tone. “Well considering that I’m your base commander, I’ll get right to that” I said as I quickly wrote down ‘Radio parts’. “Transmitter wires, we need new ones. The rats always chew them up” the corporal said and I nodded then began to leave.

I heard a radio crackle. “Bravo two one, this is Bravo two six over. We’ve got hostiles in the treeline, request fire support on coordinates Bravo Charlie 8-9-4-5-3-5-2 over” the radio crackled. “Copy, you’ll get your fire support over” the radio pony said then looked to me. “Hey sergeant major. You mind taking these coordinates to the mortar teams, there on the ridge by the hill in the center of the yard” the radio pony said.

I nodded as he quickly wrote down the coordinates then handed me the slip of paper. I took the paper then quickly rushed outside and to the mortar team. Three ponies sat smoking cigarettes by a mortar launcher. “Here, they need immediate fire support” I said and gave one of the stallions the piece of paper.

“Oh shit” he said as he quickly knelt beside the mortar and dialed it in. They began to drop shells down the mortar launcher and it would project the shells towards wherever they coordinates had been set.

I quickly left the mortar crew and quickly paced over to the medical clinic, more like a large tent with flaps for doors. I entered the tent where I saw a doctor in a bloody gown as he applied pressure to a wound on a shot up mare. “Hey you! Get me the morphine” the doctor ordered and I quickly rushed into the tent and found the medical cabinet. I pulled out a syringe from a crate labelled ‘Morphine’ then rushed back to the doctor. The patient had begun to go into shock. “Stick it in her wrist vein” he ordered and I quickly did as I was told.

The mare began to feel the numbing effects of the morphine and settled down. “Alright apply pressure here” the doctor said and I held the gunshot wound on her belly. Blood stained my hands. The doctor pulled out some gauze and sterilizer bandages then began to dress her wound. “Hell sergeant major… you may have just saved her life” the doctor said as he exhaled.

“Listen I’m the new base commander and I was wondering if I could help you with anything?” I asked and he nodded. “Yeah, the last base commander uhm… Wallace I think his name was. Said he’d get me some new medical supplies. Well it’s been a month and a half and I still don’t have any medical supplies. I need morphine and new sterilizer. Hell sometimes I’ve been using whiskey as disinfectant” he told me.

I took out my note pad and wrote ‘Medical supplies’ then looked up to him. “Anything else?” I asked but he shook his head. I nodded then gave him a wave as I left then proceeded to the motor pool where mechanics where underneath diesel flatbeds.

“Hey… uhm need anything?” I asked as I walked up to the sides of one of the troop transports. “Yeah, if you get me some friggin proper parts for these things I’d be so happy I’d suck your dick” the mechanic said sarcastically.

“Now luckily there aren’t any proper parts around here so I won’t be sucking dick any time soon” the stallion said. I felt kind of awkward from the comment and really hoped no-pony heard that. “Soldiers are always complaining that they’re trucks are breaking down. Well they wouldn’t be breaking down if I had gotten the parts I ordered two months ago… goddamn base commander, why I otta… ohh I’d love to take him outback sometimes and just give him a good lickin” the mechanic cursed.

“Uhm… that’s funny cause I uhm… I’m the base commander” I said stutteringly, kind of embarrassed. The pony mechanic slid out from under the truck and looked at me. His fur used to be a beautiful light brown but now it was stained black from the dirty undercarriage of the vehicle.

“Ha, yeah you’re the base commander… oh wait, yeah hold on… yeah didn’t Wallace die?” he asked and I nodded. He raised an eyebrow and nodded. “Alright listen, yah sound like an alright cat. If yah can get me some brake lines and a few new radiators that’d be bomb, if not well… I won’t think too fondly of yah” he said. I pulled out my notebook ‘Rads and brake lines’. “Anything else?” I asked.

He thought for a moment and shook his head but as I left he called back to me. “Well actually…” he trailed off and I turned back to him and nodded. “It’s hotter than Satan’s asshole here. I would be really happy if yah could get us a mini fridge and an air conditioner”. I smirked and he sighed depressingly. I took out my notepad ‘Air condit…’ I looked up to him.

“How do you spell air conditioner?” I asked and he shrugged. ‘Air conditsaner, mini frige’ I wrote. My writing was terrible but then again I hadn’t the best writing skills or grammar. At least I could read my own writing.

“Hey thanks commander, you may not be a CO but by hell I’ll salute you any day” he said as he gave me a quick salute then slid back under the truck. “Oh and uhm forget the whole dick sucking comment. But don’t get me wrong I appreciate it and if I was gay I’d totally suck your dick” he said and I shuddered from the comment.

I thought to myself who else might need my help. After thinking for a little I figured that there probably wasn’t very good food here so I wrote down ‘Ratsa, Ratso… good food’.

I proceeded back to the base commander tent but then figured it would take too long to send a message so I jogged over to the Radio relay station. I entered and looked to one of the radio ponies who weren’t doing anything.

“Hey I need you to get me on the line with Canterlot castle” I said and he nodded then quickly dialed in the radio. He handed me the headset and I waited for a response.

“This is Canterlot go” said a voice on the other side. “Hey listen I need a shipment to Firebase Bravo, over” I replied.

I could hear the voice on the other side sigh. “If you want requisition please” the pony began but I cut him off. “Goddammit I don’t care about requisition. I’m the commanding officer on base and the last CO fucked everything up by not ordering supplies. We need these supplies tonight” I told him but he sighed again.

“Listen, we can’t go doing special favours for one base just because” he began but once again I cut him off. “Listen, put me on with Princess Luna. Tell her it’s Clare” I said. There was a moment’s pause, well actually more like a few minutes.

“Clare?” asked the distinctive voice of Luna. “Ma’am I need a couple shipments of supplies delivered by tonight to Firebase Bravo. I know it’s not exactly economical but the last base commander did a shitty job and the base is in real bad shape” I informed her.

“Alright, what do you need?” she asked. I pulled out my note pad. “I need a very large shipment off ammunition, specifically grenades and M60 ammo. I also need radio parts and transmitter wires. I need medical supplies, specifically morphine. We need vehicle parts, radiators and brake lines. We also require a large shipment of food and some beverages. And if possible could you get a dozen or so air conditioners and a mini fridge?” I asked.

There was a moment’s pause then came her reply. “How do you spell air conditioner?” she asked. “Uhm… c-o-n-d-i-t… uhm… I don’t know” I replied and she snickered. “Whatever the case you shall have the supplies by tonight” she replied.

“Hey thanks Luna” I said and then she hung up. I looked to the radio pony and gave him a nod. “Hey don’t suppose you guys have a place to put an air conditioner in here?” I asked and his face, along with several others, brightened up. I walked out of the radio relay building and I heard several cheers of happiness come from inside the building.

Hours later:

I sat at my desk and filled out forms, mostly just random shit like base moral and what not. Corporal Hart walked into my tent and gave me a salute. “Get that hoof down, the friggin Apache will see you and think I’m the damn base commander” I joked. He laughed as he sat down across from me.

“Hell Sarge, you are the base commander” he laughed and I rolled my eyes. “Yeah…hopefully note for long though. I didn’t sign up to be a shadow guard just to sit behind a desk and fill out military forms” I chuckled.

“Yeah, so you signed up and became Luna’s door guard” he laughed. I snickered at the comment as I brushed the papers aside. “So corporal, what can I do for yah?” I asked and he shrugged. “Not much, just wanted to say hi to my old buddy” he said and I shook his hoof as he extended it.

“Hell Hart, shouldn’t you be protecting Luna in her bed chambers right now?” I asked and he smirked. “Yeah well ever since this conflict heated up while you were gone, they’ve been drafting ponies into the war. Hell I’ve even heard rumors that Captain Shining Armor got his horn blown off” he told me and I nodded, remembering seeing Armor’s horn stub.

“Yeah, hopefully this all blows over like the whole buffalo conflict. You came a few weeks after that whole ordeal” Hart informed me. I heard helicopters flying overhead and figured that had to be the supply choppers. “Come on, let’s go unload those crates” I said and he scrunched his nose.

“What crates?” he asked and I gave him a wink. “Well old… I mean new base commander of yours got you all new supplies” I said and he raised an eyebrow.

We walked out to the helipad where the helicopters were already being unloaded. “Alright, this one says it goes tah the medical center… we have a medical center here?” said Aussie as he gave a unicorn the heavy crate of medical supplies. The unicorn grabbed the crate in her magical aurora and trotted off with it.

Aussie saw us coming and smirked. “Jesus sweet lord Christ, Sarge. I ain’t never seen ponies so happy on a firebase before. It’s like they’re foals on Hearth’s Warming. How the hell’d yah get air conditioners anyway?” he asked and I shrugged.

“Secret” I replied and he chuckled as he tossed me a crate of ammunition. “It goes tah the armoury” he said and I nodded. Hart grabbed another crate of ammo and followed up beside me. “Air conditioners?” he asked curiously and I nodded. “Yeah. Figured it was really hot around here so I’d get the stallions and mares some air conditioning for base” I laughed and he just shook his head in complete disbelief.

As we walked into the armoury the receptionist let out a ‘Hurray’ and several others cheered with him. I set the ammo crate on the counter and looked to the receptionist who was installing the air conditioner. These guys all looked to me with the happiest of faces, hell these were the happiest I’d seen most ponies in a long time. And that’s comparing them to some of the ponies I’d seen in Los Pegasus.

Hart and I walked back outside and back to the chopper just as another landed. I walked up to help Aussie unload some of the crates when Luna hopped out of the chopper and approached me. “Sergeant Major, I need to speak with you about this… ‘Unusual’ shipment” she said, putting emphasis on unusual.

“Well Sarge it was nice having you as a base commander” Aussie whispered to me and Luna gave him a semi irritated glare. He rose up one of his hoofs in mercy. “I’m just saying” he said then Luna and I walked away.

We reached the command tent and Luna looked to me. “Is there any place more secure that drowns out the noise?” she asked and I thought to myself. “Well there’s the supply building around back” I offered and she nodded.

We walked back out and to the supply building. I entered first and turned on the single bulb light that hung in the middle of the building which was roughly 15 feet by 15 feet. Luna locked the door behind us.

I turned to her with a raised eyebrow. “Were the air conditioners necessary?” she asked, I simply shrugged. “Some of the guys were complaining about the heat” I told her and she shook her head in humor. “So I suppose that you’re the new base commander huh?” she asked and I nodded. “So I guess that also means you won’t be spending a lot of time at the castle” she said and I nodded again.

She walked up to me and pushed my body up against a large wooden crate. “Well then… I guess I’ll just have to make up for all the times I’m gonna miss” she said as she pressed her lips furiously against mine. She stuck her tongue so deep into my mouth it almost triggered my gag reflex but I held it back.

I began to caress her tongue with mine as I groped her flank in my hands. I could hear her humming moans into my mouth and soon she broke away from the kiss. “The choppers leave in twenty minutes… we’ll have to make this fast” she said and I nodded sadly. It made me feel bad that we probably both wouldn’t get much satisfaction out of this.

She quickly began to undress me as I slid my hand to her nether region and began to caress her lower genitals with my hand. It distracted her slightly and she gave a sudden gasp as she felt my hand touch her sensitive parts.

Third person:

“Alright that’s the last supply crate. How long until the chopper’s filled up?” the pilot asked and Aussie guessed. “About seven minutes… give or take” he said in his iconic Australian accent. The helicopter pilot nodded then lit a cigarette.

Hart walked up beside Aussie. “So uhm, are you like the new platoon sergeant or…” Hart trailed off and Aussie just shrugged. “Not sure really, they assigned me here cause they think I can take down The Apache. Don’t worry chap, I’ll get ‘er in due time” Aussie informed him.

“Where the hell’s the sergeant major anyway?” Aussie asked and Hart chuckled. “Probably bucking Luna in the supply building” Hart laughed and Aussie let out a humorless sigh. “No seriously, yah don’t joke about that kinda shit. Where would he really be?” Aussie asked and Hart shrugged. “Clare is probably getting a very… hand’s on lecture” Hart replied and Aussie just shook his head.

Back in the supply building Clare sucked Luna’s horn and she had a horn orgasm as he rutted her. “Ohhh Clare… ahhhh” Luna screamed as she reached her peak. Clare’s watch beeped, he had set an alarm to go off so they didn’t miss Luna’s timeline. “Shit” Clare muttered as he quickly sat up.

“Clare, this isn’t fair. You gave me three orgasms and you never got off” she said and Clare just shrugged as he slipped his pants up. “Don’t worry about it babe. I got some vacation time coming up. I’ll take some time off and we’ll go finish our vacation in Los Pegasus” Clare told her. She stepped up to him and they began making out again.

Luna pulled back from the kiss and smiled. “You’ll have to call for supplies more often”
