Prologue
Back in Pony Ville, three sisters sit close by a fire. All three warm as can be. Rarity of course has to sit on her cashmere blanket and make sure no mud gets on her. Sweetie Belle is staring into the flames eating Marshmallows messily, while her oldest sister cooks them for her. The oldest is Sparkle Shine. Sparkle Shine sat by the fire watching Sweetie Belle then checked the marshmallows, they was done. She offered it to Rarity but she said no. "You know...You can't just hide in your blanket." Sparkle Shine gently said. "Why, my darling. I just prefer to eat well, um healthier foods than that. Now darling, you said there was some other stuff in there? Maybe some apples? Cucumbers even?" Rarity says in a polite tone. "Nope, sorry Rarity only marshmallows. What did you expect. It to be like home, were out in the woods." Sweetie Bell speaks, with a mouthful of food. Rarity rolls her eyes and accepts the marshmallow. Her eyes widen with delight. "Wow! This is the most wonderful thing I've ever tasted! Tell me, what's in this?" Rarity looks at Sparkle Shine then to Sweetie Belle. "Sugar." Sweetie Belle replies. Sparkle Shine smiles at the thought of Rarity actually coming out of her clean shell. But when is that going to happen. Sparkle Shine gets up. "Sweetie Bell, Rarity stay here, I'm going to get more food." Meanwhile in the backward of Rarity's house, Sparkle Shine gets some food everyone would like. There's a knock at the door. She answers and there sits Twilight Sparkle. “Hello Sparkle, I am here to talk to Rarity, it is about something very important. I was sent by the Princess to come and get her." Spike burps up a note. "Oh and she wants the two of you as well." Well that was unusual news for them. So Sparkle Shine goes to get her siblings. They get a ride to the Castle. It turns out the Princess was actually quite worried. I wasn't sure why. But it seemed as if she was almost rushing us to our chairs. The other ponies were here as well. "I need to talk to all of you. Princess Luna has seen some dark things coming. We have no idea what it is. I would like the eight of you to help me." Princess Celestia says with an urged tone. "Darling? What, dear, is the matter?" Rarity speaks. Sweetie Bell was next. "Oh, oh, oh! I know! I know! We're going on an adventure! Yay! Rarity won't get all the fun this time! Maybe I'll even get my cutie mark!" Sparkle Shine felt bad, she knew what this was. Princess Luna often had visions of things that came true. No one knew of course but me and her sister. Something bad must have happened when she had the last vision.
Sparkle Shine
Hello, my name is Sparkle Shine. I am a new pony to Pony Ville. I moved in with my two younger sisters recently. Rarity and Sweetie Belle are my only family. Our mother died just after Sweetie Belle's birth, along with mother father died too. I took care of them both, until Rarity was old enough to take care of herself, and Sweetie Belle. I came back because it got very lonely where I lived. The place I lived is where no pony can ever go. It's a secret to all ponies except the six ponies. Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy. They all have gone into that world. Rainbow Dash, the longest. I know her adoptive father, he is a nice man. I'm the only one who can go between each world. My home is the Human world. Don't get me wrong, I look human when I go into that world, but when I come back, I'm a pony again.
Anyways, Princess Celestia told me everything, not in front of the every otherpony of course. She told me that somepony, or someone has come into Pony Ville. I looked at her with widened eyes, when Rarity called for me. "Oh I better get see what’s wrong." I ran to Rarity. "Darling? Oh there you are! I was wondering, when will our deadline be for being ready." Rarity said in her usual tone. "I would say as soon as possible, we must hurry, this adventure we'll need everyone. Especially Rainbow Dash." I answered. Later that night we were ready to go until I hear Twilight. "Girls! Girls! Please stop! Enough is enough!" then I hear murmurs of voices between Sweetie Belle and Rarity fighting. Ugh. So I walk in to help. "Sisters! Please. We don't' have time!" and for some reason that rubbed Rarity the wrong way. "What?! Darling, you left me and Sweetie Belle after I was old enough you said! How dare you ask us to stop and we don't have enough time, because you never had enough time for us! Then you come crawling back!" With that my violet eyes changed to blue. They do that because they change color to my emotions. I felt a tear stream down my cheek. "Well you! Well, You! Ugh!" I ran out the front door and started to cry.
I packed my things at Rarity's and left. I "accidentally" broke a picture frame of us. I was so upset! I started walking, and I see a.................someone? I ran/trotted up to the someone. Oh my gosh! I slowed down and trotted up. "Hello? Why are you here? Humans are not allowed in Equestria. You should leave as soon as possible." I said in a cracking tone but calm. "Whoa! Ponies talk!!!! I didn't know! Oh, um I should ask your name, girl." He talked to me like I was a human horse! "You may call me Rebecca or Sparkle Shine." I tilted my head up a little, I was just a little shorter than him, he was maybe......17? He had high cheek bones, vibrant blue eyes, a muscular body, and was tall. "Oh, Ms. Horsy has an attitude. Well you can call me Kyle. Wait! Rebecca! I know a Rebecca and she kinda looks like you." Well it took him long enough. "I lowered my head, you do know me. I am the Rebecca you know. Please don't look at me that way. Anyways, I don't have an attitude it's just, my sisters hate me. So I'm going into the Ever Free Forest. Follow if you wish." I replied. I started walking away, then I hear, "Wait! I could use a ride." I turned to look at him with confusion. "Whoa, there! You are not ridding me! If you're going to move you walk." With that I walked until he caught up, then I ran. I galloped fast into the Ever Free Forest. Kyle and I had finally found a place to rest. I made the campfire and set up the tent. He brought out the food, and got the materials. He took notice at my cutie mark. "Um, Hey. What’s that?" I followed his finger and it was pointed to my flank. "Oh, that's just my cutie mark. It shows what my special talent is." I explained. He nodded and looked almost fascinated. Later that night, I fell asleep. I was cozy and warm inside my sleeping bag. When I heard Kyle singing softly what sounded like a lullaby. I recognized it, and sang along with him. I sang quietly, then he stopped to listen to me. I kept singing unafraid of people knowing. He listened and nodded then sang along. We sang the lullaby together. Then after we were done, I heard him say "Whoa!" He sounded worried so I rolled over and saw something I'd never expect. He was becoming a stallion! I looked around to see what I can help him with, in about 5 seconds he was a pony. Just like me. My eyes widened with fright and excitement. I heard someponies running up to the tent so I got up and walked out. I saw Twilight, she looked as if she'd been running for miles. "Sparkle! Oh my gosh! It was imperative that we tell you, the Human is in Pony Ville!" She said "Human" with difficulty, which was different for her. "It's all right, I think we all better go see the Princess right away." I answered. Twilight replied. "All of us? More than one?" I heard Kyle come out of the tent. "Hello, I'm Kyle, you are?" Twilight coward in fear, she'd never seen a human before. "Twilight, it's okay. Shh. He won’t hurt you." I said trying to be gently. "Kyle, this is Twilight Sparkle. You may only call her Twilight Sparkle until she knows that you are her friend. She is scared and when you meet Fluttershy, do not go up eager to her. She will shy away instantly." Kyle nodded as I spoke. Twilight broke in. "So, he's an h-human. Right? But then why does he look like a stallion. Kyle, is it? You look like a stallion, why?" Kyle tried to shrug but couldn't, then settled on. "I don't know." I cut in. "That is why we need to go see the Princess, or better, Princesses" Twilight nodded. With that, Kyle and I packed our things, and we left. We walked for a while. I saw Princess Celestia, and Luna. I dumped my things. "Princesses! Princesses! We have the Human!" Their eyes darted my way. They saw the stallion and looked confused. "Princesses, this is Kyle, he was a human but is now a stallion. We are not sure why? He is my friend. He wouldn't hurt a fly. Believe me. I was out in Ever Free Forest. I was trying to, um, get away from some issues. Anyways, Kyle needs some answers, got any?" Instantly Celestia turns to Twilight. "Twilight? Anything?" Twilight had maybe a thousand books. "No, sorry Princesses." Everyone looked thoughtful except Kyle, who wouldn't stop staring at Celestia. I nudged him with my flank and looked at him while shaking my head slightly. Rarity came up. "Oh! You! Darling, get the mud off of you! You look disgusting, oh wait. You always do." I looked at Rarity, lowered my head, and felt a tear fall down my cheek. Kyle spoke up. "Who are you! Wait. I think you might be, lemme guess." He looked at her cutie mark. "Diamonds or Rarity." I heard Rarity gasp. "Who is this magnificent stallion? He knows me!" Then I answered. "He is my friend. He knows your name because of your cutie mark." I heard he scuff when I said the words. "Now, now girls! No need to be rude to each other!" That was Luna. She disliked fighting a lot only because she was Nightmare Moon for so long. I heard every otherpony walk up. I lowered my head even lower. Celestia spoke. "Thank you all for coming. Applejack, Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Sweetie Belle, and Kyle." They all bowed. I excused myself to leave the group. I felt like I was nothing. I walked away. I was about 10 ft. away from the group when Kyle and Applejack walked up behind me. “What’s up sugar cube?” Applejack asked. I shook my head. She knew something was up as did Kyle. We walked in silence for a bit. I broke the silence first. “It’s Rarity.” I spoke with uneasiness. “She is my sister, but she thinks that I left her on purpose. I just couldn’t take care of them.” I was starting to shake with tears. “Aw, sugar cube. Ya can’t let anypony push you around like that. Ey’er a beautiful pony. Inside and out.” I tried to give a small smile. I looked at Kyle and he nodded in agreement to what AJ said. That time a real smile came. I looked at them both. “I guess that’s not what Rarity thinks. I wish I could do something.” I heard a thump behind me. It was Princess Luna. We all bowed. “Princess! Why are you here!?” I asked surprised. “You want to fix your issues with Rarity and Sweetie Belle? I can help with that.” She answered. My eyes brightened. “Very well.” She took it as a yes. I saw a bright flash and we were in a black space. We could still see the colors of everypony, just there was no exit. Well it seemed that way. “HOW COULD YOU!” Rarity’s eyes blazed in my direction. I looked at her and towered over. “You cannot treat your older sister this way! I left because I couldn’t take care of you both. I knew you could! Happy?” I yelled back. Rarity backed down. I huffed and walked into the darkness. I sat down after a while. I was thinking until a voice made me jump. “YOU WILL PASS THIS FIRST TEST!!!” It wasn’t one of my friends, it came from the blackness. I looked around, then another white flash and we were back in Pony Ville. I looked around. Pony Ville was a ghost town. I looked around me, I was alone. I guess we must have been scattered across Pony Ville. The Voice boomed again. “THIS IS THE FIRST CHALLENGE! YOU MUST FIND ONE ANOTHER, IF ONE OF YOU FIGHTS YOU ALL WILL START OVER 5 DAYS FROM NOW! UNDERSTOOD?” I nodded my head ready to find my two sisters and the seven others. I walked and looked around. I looked high and low. I saw something fly across the sky, so I ran after it. It ended up being a bird. I tried to yell for the others, but my voice was gone. I couldn’t speak. I guess it’s part of the rules. I try to take three more steps and another white flash happens. We all now are back in the darkness. I saw Rarity and Sweetie Belle fighting. The Voice speaks again. “YOU ALL FAILED, THE WHITE PONY WITH A PURPLE MANE NAMED RARITY, AND THE OTHER WHITE PONY WITH A PURPLE/PINK MANE NAMED SWEETIE BELLE. THEY ARE AT FAULT.” It was gone with that. I looked at Rarity as she lowered her head. I walked up to her. “You okay?” I asked gently. She shook her head. I gave Sweetie Belle a hug. “It’s okay Sweetie Belle.” I said to her. I stood up. “Now I feel that there is something wrong with three ponies in this very room. One includes me, the others are my two sisters. We have been fighting and we do not know who or what is causing it.” I told the others. Pinkie Pie put up her hand. “Oh, Oh, Oh! There was some chocolate rain earlier today. Maybe Discord is back.” We all looked at Pinkie. “Maybe you are right.” I said thoughtfully. Everyone kinda looked around trying to see if there was someone hiding in the darkness. There was no one, but everyone kept trying. Finally a thought or memory popped into my head. I saw him behind a tree in the forest when Rarity, Sweetie Belle, and I were camping. “He was!” I said and everyone looked at me in fear except Kyle. I saw him, I guess I didn’t think it was him, but he must have turned Rarity and Sweetie Belle on me. I looked at them and I saw them soften up. Then when I thought they would be my sister again, their face hardened. “NO!” they both screamed at me. I lowered my head. Then I stood up tall. “No girls. We are going through this, even if I have to drag you. You have to understand, we are sisters. You can’t change that no matter how much you dislike me or don’t care. We are finishing this test.” After I said that the walls started to crumble then we all heard a voice. “YOU HAVE PASSED THE FIRST TEST! IT WAS A FAKE BACK IN PONY VILLE. YOU NOW UNDERSTAND. WELL NOT RARITY OR SWEETIE BELLE, BUT THE OTHERS DO.” With that we were back where we stared. I sighed. I looked around at everypony. They all smiled at me except Rarity and Sweetie Belle. I was tired of Discords game. I said I’ll be back in maybe a couple minutes and left the group. I sat down and took a deep breath. Everything was getting blurry from my tears. I was trying so hard to be strong, I knew that I might lose my sisters if I don’t fix this. I was tired of everything that broke my heart, everything that made me frown. When Mother and Father died, I was a mess for weeks, I couldn’t control myself, a lot of the time Rarity and Sweetie Belle went hungry. I don’t even know if Rarity remembers. Our family had a bond like no other. I felt so bad. Now I started to cry. I closed my eyes. I wanted to scream. Something made me jump. “You can’t fix anything if you are crying twenty four seven.” I turned around and saw Kyle. He sat down beside me. He held out his arms. I leaned into them and cried onto his shoulder getting his coat wet. He didn’t seem to care very much. He just held me there. Something in my stomach did little flips. I didn’t feel so alone with him. I had finally stopped crying. Everything was fine after that, I didn’t hear much from my two sisters except the odd “You’re worthless!” But that was pretty much it. I felt better as they slowed down to call me names. I heard someone call my name. It was Applejack. I was happy to see her. “Sparkle! Sparkle! We need your help! We’ve spotted Discord! He’s change everyone into stone!” My eyes widened to what she said. “Oh no! Take me to them AJ!” I answered, we trotted back to the group. They were all stone! They all had angry looks on their faces frozen in stone. I tried to look for ways to help. Then AJ turned to stone. I saw Discord. He walked up to me laughing. “Oh you poor, poor ponies! All of you get chocolate rain and eternal chaos, but decided to defeat me. Moi! How could you defeat moi?” He said to me. I stood tall. I kept my stance even though he was kinda scary. I looked him in the eye. “Discord, how very nice to see you. You look nice.” I replied. “Oh, why thank you! I just got a new co- wait.” He caught on to me! I tried to think of a plan quick. “You want to know what I’ve done as a stone don’t you.” I sighed in relief and nodded. While he was going on, I created of become him friend and defeating him to set my friends and sisters free.
