Chapter 1

It had been a long night for rainbow dash her friends had convinced her to come with them for a night out. Rainbow dash didn’t want to but she thought it would do her some good she didn’t really have anything better to do. Her friend Pinkie Pie invited her to stay the night since they both new Rainbow had drunk a bit too much vodka and was in no condition to fly back to her house in Cloudsdale.
“Your room is this way” Pinkie said motioning for Rainbow to follow her.
“Thanks again for letting me stay with you tonight” Dash said quietly.
“I would do anything for one of my friends” Pinkie replied with a smile on her face. The tired blue mare hopped into the bed that Pinkie had prepared for her.
She closed her eyes and almost instantly fell asleep.

Rainbow was awakened by a loud scream that came from the front door. She got up and walked through the kitchen. She stopped suddenly as she saw a reddish liquid trailing from the kitchen and into a cupboard. The smell of the liquid was unmistakeable, it was blood. Rainbow dash had come to recognise that smell since she has had many injuries in her little flying practise sessions. Dash’s heart was now racing as she followed the trail. She opened the cupboard door and almost fainted at the sight. It was Pinkie but she was lying on the floor with bite marks all over her face and neck. She had a gaping hole in her stomach and her intestines were visible some of them were lying on the floor in front of her. Rainbow screamed and turned around only to see a blood covered pony with blood red eyes slowly walking towards her.

She didn’t recognize the pony but when Rainbow tried to run around it she saw a harp on the ponies flank. Dash’s heart sank it was Lyra, the pony that had found her when she had a near fatal flying accident. If it wasn’t for Lyra Rainbow probably wouldn’t be around right now. Tears welled up in Rainbow dash’s eyes as she pushed the bloodied pony away from her.
*what has happened to Lyra* Dash thought to herself. Rainbow then ran out of the door and took to the air.
*if anyone knows what the hay is going on its Twilight*. The frightened Pegasus flew as fast as she could towards the purple unicorn’s library home.

Rainbow dash burst through the door,
“TWILIGHT” she shouted, hoping that there would be an answer. Suddenly she saw something move in the shadows. Then she felt something grab her from behind.
Rainbow let out a high pitched scream. The lights to the library turned on and next to the switch was a laughing purple dragon.
“You should’ve seen your face Dashie” spike bellowed.
“Hey that wasn’t funny and don’t call me Dashie” The angry pony yelled.
“Gosh what's up with you”?
Rainbow Dash ignored spike and walked up the stairs to Twilights room.
She shook the sleeping pony until finally her eyes opened.
“What do you want Rainbow” Twilight said in a soft sleepy tone.
“Something terrible happened” Rainbow dash said with tears in her eyes.

Rainbow Dash spent the next ten minutes or so telling Twilight what had happened
“Rainbow follow me I know exactly what's going on” Twilight said.
Twilight motioned for her friend to follow, they walked to the other side of the room to a small door. Twilight opened it and grabbed two heavy wooden baseball bats and handed one to Rainbow.
“What’s going on Twi”? Rainbow Dash asked, with a scared tone in her voice.
“Zombies” Twilight replied.
The blue mare stared at her friend with a puzzled look,
“That can’t be true zombies are just made up” she said.
“It is possible to bring something or some one back from the dead using an ancient magic called necromancy” Twilight replied.
“Twi if what you’re saying is true then that means the pony behind this horrible nightmare is a unicorn”
Twilight nodded and walked into the main library.
She screamed when she saw her faithful dragon companion being eaten by a grey Pegasus she had come to recognise as Derpy Hooves.

Chapter 2

The blood smeared grey pony inched closer to Twilight. As she turned around to try and run the thing that was once the town’s best mail-pony pounced onto her. Twilight was pinned to the ground, she tried to get up but Derpy was too strong. Twilight gasped when Derpy opened her mouth to reveal a row of sharp teeth. As Twilight closed her eyes and prepared for certain death there was a loud crunch and she felt the Pegasus on top of her fall limply to the floor.
“Looks like that’s a home run” Rainbow Dash said with a large grin on her face.
They both looked down at the body of Derpy.
“Do you think she is okay”? Twilight asked.
“Well I did just hit her in the back of the head with a baseball bat” Rainbow replied.
Derpy’s head started twitching as she looked at Rainbow.
“Wanna do the honours” Rainbow dash said as she handed the baseball bat to Twilight. She nodded and began repeatedly bashing Derpy’s skull. Blood splattered on the two mares with each hit, Twilight gave up when she had completely caved in the Gray Pegasus’s face.

Rainbow and Twilight looked at each other and smiled.
“Spike oh no” Twilight said as she rushed towards the purple dragons body. His throat had been torn out and one of his legs was missing. Twilight began to cry softly, Rainbow put a hoof on her shoulder to try and comfort her.
“He was my best friend and I never told him that” Twilight sobbed.
“It’s okay Twi he’s in a better place now” Rainbow said.
They both sat around spike for a good ten minutes when finally Twilight broke the silence.
“We should go get our friends” Twilight said softly.
Rainbow nodded and walked to the door.

“Try not to fly if you can, we don’t want to draw to too much attention too ourselves” Twi said. Rainbow nodded and grabbed another baseball bat and they both walked out of the door.
“I say we go and get Fluttershy first, because she is kind of soft and she probably wont survive that long on her own” Rainbow Dash said. Twilight said nothing but still followed Rainbow Dash.
*Damn it’s a long way from here to Fluttershy’s house, we have to go through the town which is probably filled with those things plus her house is quite close to the Everfree Forest* Rainbow thought to herself.

The two ponies began walking and almost instantly came across one of the walking dead. They both new what to do and ran towards it. Twilight dropped her bat and used her horn to send tentacle like beams of magic towards the pony. Rainbow still wielding the bat charged at a breathtaking speed. Twilight’s magic wrapped around the pony’s legs and brought it to its knees. Rainbow Dash smacked the bat straight into the zombie’s nose. The damage was incredible. With one high speed hit she had managed to whack the zombies head straight off.

The limp pony fell to the floor its exposed neck pumping blood like a fountain with each pulse of its still beating heart.
“Mr Cake” The Rainbow maned pony said as she wiped some blood off of her face.
“What do you mean Dash” Twilight replied with a puzzled look on her face. Rainbow dash pointed at the dead stallion’s flank.
“That’s him alright” Twilight said.
The two brave ponies continued walking.
“Wait stop” Rainbow Dash whispered. Twilight stared at her friend with a puzzled look.
“We have to go around them we won’t be able to take on all of them” Rainbow said.
Twilight’s big purple eyes widened when she saw dozens apon dozens of blood stained ponies, some were recognizable amongst the crowd. Twilight turned around only to trip over a rock. The noise was loud enough to alert the crowd of undead ponies. The Zombie ponies glowing red eyes locked onto the two mares.
“RUN TWILIGHT” Rainbow Dash screamed.

Chapter 3

The ponies ran as fast as they could away from the crowd of hungry zombies.
The zombies may have been slow but they sure were hard to run from.
They turned a corner only to realise that they had ran into a dead end.
“They’re everywhere! ” Rainbow Dash shouted.
“Well Dashie it’s been nice knowing you” Twilight said with tears streaming down her face.
As the undead ponies slowly limped closer, the two friends hugged each other and readied themselves for certain death. Just as the crowd was less than a hoof away Twilights horn began to glow with a bright purple aura. A blinding beam of light shot toward the hoard ripping them to pieces one by one. Finally the blinding light died out to reveal at least a hundred different bloody puddles of blood, guts and bones spread across the floor.
“We have to go NOW” Rainbow Dash said to Twilight who was still dizzy from what had just happened.

“Twi you gotta be more careful” Rainbow Dash said. Twilight nodded.
“They may be slow but they are damn dangerous in a big group”
Rainbow Dash stared into Twilights eyes for a couple of seconds.
*What if we don’t survive? Maybe we should just kill ourselves now* Rainbow thought to herself. She instantly pushed the thought out of her head and remembered that her other friends need her.
“Let’s go Twi we have to find Fluttershy” The cyan coloured pony said. Twilight didn’t say anything.
The two of them walked for what seemed like hours until finally they reached Fluttershy’s house. The door opened with a loud creak. Fluttershy’s house was very dark. Twilight almost screamed at what she saw but Rainbow managed to silence her by putting a hoof over her mouth. Rainbow Dash looked down at what her purple friend saw. It was a dead pony lying on its back. The head seemed to have many dents in it. Even though it was dark the two mares managed to notice that the body’s fur was yellow.

“No it can’t be, not Fluttershy” Rainbow Dash said looking at the limp body.
Just then they heard noises coming from behind the couch. Rainbow Dash pointed to the couch and Twilight lifted it up using her magic. Behind the couch was Fluttershy.
“Hi guys” Fluttershy said.
“Fluttershy it’s you, I thought that you were dead” Rainbow Dash said with a big smile on her face.
“BAHAHAHAH, that’s not me over there that’s just my neighbour Carrot Top, she came in and ate Angel so I smashed her fucking head in with this shovel”
*What is going on with Fluttershy I think she might be just a tad insane* Rainbow thought to herself.
“Come on guys we have to go and get Applejack next” Twilight said.
Rainbow grabbed her baseball bat and Fluttershy grabbed her shovel.
“Oh I just need to do one more thing if you wouldn’t mind” Fluttershy said.
Rainbow and her Purple friend nodded. Fluttershy then walked over to Carrot Tops body and pushed the shovel into the back of her neck. There was a spray of blood as Fluttershy jumped onto the shovel and completely decapitated the body of what once was her neighbour.

The group of tired ponies walked out of Fluttershy’s cottage.
“HELP SOMEONE PLEASE” said a loud voice in the distance.
“Come on guys we have to help” Rainbow Dash said
Then three ponies sprinted towards the sound of screaming.
They turned a corner and saw two zombie ponies.
“Hello there Lyra, what's going on Bon Bon” Fluttershy recognized these two ponies.
“I don’t care who they are let’s just get this over with” Rainbow Dash said.
Rainbow and Fluttershy sprinted towards Lyra and Bon Bon. Twilight stood back and started using her horn to throw bricks and large rocks at the two zombies.
One of the bricks hit Lyra on her front right hoof, sending her crashing to the floor.
Rainbow Dash took this opportunity and repeatedly swung the bat on the unicorns face. Fluttershy swung her head and the shovel hit Bon Bon on the right side of her head.
“Job well done team” Rainbow Dash said wiping the blood off her face with one of her fore hooves. Bon Bon’s head lifted but Fluttershy saw and let out a yelp. Twilight focused and her horn started glowing bright purple again. Bon Bon’s head now glowed in the same colour. Without warning Bon Bon’s head exploded, showering the three friends in blood and brains.
“That was AWESOME” Rainbow Dash said smiling
Then she turned around and saw the town mayor, dead on the floor. The bottom part of her body was gone and her intestines were strewn on the floor submerged in a small puddle of blood.

Chapter 4

“Oh no” Twilight said with a look of sadness on her face.
Rainbow Dash moved closer to Twilight.
“Twilight look there is no time to get all mopey we still have to find Applejack and Rarity. Fluttershy nodded and turned around. They were being as stealthy as they could, they were sticking to the shadows and it was surprisingly effective. Finally they reached the long road that lead to sweet apple acres. They walked up to the barn house were they could here loud crashing sounds. They ran into the house and looked around. Applejack and Big Mac were in the corner putting food and water supplies in their packs. Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle were sitting on the couch crying,
“Um hi guys” Rainbow Dash said.
“Oh girls thank Clestia you’re alive” Applejack said with a large smile on her face.
“RAINBOW DASH” Scootaloo shouted and gave Rainbow a big hug.

Big Macintosh Nodded at the group of tired mares while Sweetiebelle was still on the couch.
“They got Applebloom, they took her and I just sat there and watched” Sweetiebelle sobbed.
“WERE IS MY SISTER” Sweetiebelle shouted at Rainbow Dash
“We are going to get Rarity soon” Twilight said
There was a loud crash as Applebloom smashed through the lounge room window. But it wasn’t Applebloom not any more. The zombified filly grabbed Sweetiebelle and bit down hard into her neck. Sweetiebelle screamed as blood poured out of her neck. Applebloom then bit out a large chunk of Sweetiebelle’s neck, killing her instantly. Applebloom dropped her best friend and moved towards the others.

“I’m so sorry little sis” Applejack sobbed Big Macintosh put a hoof on her shoulder.
“I think you should do it” Applejack said
“Eyyyuuup” Big Mac replied.
He moved towards his little sister, even he was crying. He turned around and kicked with his back legs. There was a loud crack and Applebloom fell to the ground, blood dripping out of her mouth.
“I am mighty sorry you guys had to see that” Applejack said to her friends.
“Don’t worry Applejack you did all you could” Fluttershy said.
Applejack got up and took a deep breath.
“Now I don’t know bout ya’ll but I’m gonna do what Sweetiebelle wanted, I’m gonna go find Rarity” Applejack said.
“I know I’m with you, what about you guys” Rainbow Dash said to her friends.
They all nodded their heads.
“Come on team lets go save Rarity” Rainbow Dash said loudly.

The small team of ponies walked slowly down the road back to town. Rainbow Dash was leading the group with Big Mac and Twilight close to her side. All the others were grouped up.
“Wait guys I need to get something from the barn Applejack said.
“I’ll go with her Twilight you're with me, Big Macintosh you stay with the group.
A.J Rainbow and Twilight walked up to the barn. Applejack pushed the door open slowly. Applejack kicked a wall and it fell down and revealed a secret room.
“You guys wait outside” Applejack said as she walked into the room.
Several minutes later apple jack walked out with a huge machete.
“This has been in my family for generations, my great great grandpa used it to fight it off a tribe of savages” Applejack said.
Rainbow Dash and Twilight just stood there with gaping mouths.
Suddenly there was a loud ear piercing scream coming from outside.
The three mares ran outside and saw that their friends were surrounded by at least a dozen zombies.
“Uh Twi I think now is the time to make them explode with your magic” Rainbow Dash said.
“I can’t I don’t even know how I did it last time” Twilight replied.
Rainbow Dash sighed.
“CHAAARRGGEE” she shouted.
