Chapter 1: Ignition

Ignition

The town of Ponyville was drenched in rain. Citizens hid in their homes as rain only continued falling, not showing any signs of stopping anytime soon. The rain was a mystery. Only the pegasi could control the weather and neither of them had touched a single cloud. Alongside the rain thunderclaps were heard the whole time.

All the while Twilight was in her library. Studying. Not caring about the bad weather at all. If she even noticed it at all she certainly wasn’t letting on. As she continued reading, her small purple and green assistant, Spike the dragon watched the rain fall. Curious as to how the bad weather had suddenly appeared.

“Spike, go fetch “The guide to: Concentration” please.” Twilight asked

Spike didn’t hear her. He was too absorbed in the weird weather to pay the lavender mare any attention.

“Spiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike.” Twilight said, with some irritation in her voice.

“Huh?” The purple and green dragon muttered

“Spike, I told you to go get me “The guide to: Concentration”.”

“You did? Sorry Twilight. But doesn’t the weird weather kinda freak you out?”

“It’s probably the work of one of the pegasi.”

“But Twilight, the pegasi SWORE that they didn’t touch a single cloud today.”

“Then I don’t know. Rainbow Dash will probably get rid of it.”

Moments later, there was somepony knocking on the door. Twilight turned her attention away from the book, figuring that some rest for her eyes were much needed. She walked away fropm the book and towards the door. She used her magic and opened it. Outside was a completely drenched Applejack.

“Oh hey there Applejack. Can I help you?”

“I’m sorry tah bother y’all, but dis ere’ freaky weather’s over watering our plants. If this goes on fer much longer Ponyville’ll starve.” Applejack replied

“Shouldn’t Rainbow Dash be taking care of this?.”

“Rainbow can’t get near them dang storm clouds. She says they ain’t like any storm clouds she’s ever seen before. We need yer magic to ward it off.”

“Spike, you’re in charge while I’m gone.” Twilight yelled

Twilight walked out into the rain and shut the door. She ignored the feeling of water splashing against her coat of fur. It took her little to no time to spot her friends on the outskirts of Ponyville. Looking up at the weird weather. She walked towards them, Applejack in tow. Soon enough she was amongst the group, gawking at the clouds. Lightning struck from the cloud every few minutes. The weird part was, the lightning was a shade of dark blue.

“Stand back girls.” Twilight said

She lowered her stance, her horn lit up and she fired a ball of lavender light and it flew off her horn. Rocketing off into the swarm of gray clouds. It disappeared into the mass of clouds.

“Was that supposed to do something or...” Rainbow Dash asked

Twilight was about to respond until the cloud sent back a bolt of purple lightning, it struck the ground before them and spread out like an EMP would. The six mares were encased in the weird electricity. Twilight could feel her body slowly dissolving into the air alongside her friends. She felt her body rise of the ground as her form slowly dissipated into millions of particles and floated off into the storm clouds.

An hour later...

On earth. A storm was beginning to roll in. But it bore no rain. It was the dead of night by now. No one was awake. The storm cloud threw a bolt of pink lightning. It struck a nearby car. It was a 1965 Chevy Impala. The car was pure black, until suddenly, a shade of pink spread across the automobile like rust from a time lapsed video. It slowly crept along the car occasionally decorating it with balloons and a streak of darker pink that ran along the middle of the car. Even it’s daytons slowly turned pink.

The car completed its transformation but held no signs of life.

Then the cloud moved. Hovering away from the site like nothing had happened. Eventually coming across another cul de sac of houses. The cloud fired a rainbow colored lightning bolt, this time it struck a Mustang Boss 302, a Laguna Seca edition no less. The red sports car sat still, until a shade of cyan blue spread across it’s surface, slowly changing it’s color, decorating the side with a rainbow lightning bolt running down it’s side. It completed its transformation and nothing happened. It sat still similar to how the lowrider had. Lifeless

The cloud then moved towards a mansion in the distance. It stopped just above the huge home, and struck a white bolt of electricity at another car. A Lotus Evora to be exact. The yellow car stood idle, then, a shade of alabaster spread across the car like frost. A ribbon of blue ran down it’s side, accompanied by three diamonds that were embedded on the gas cap.

The cloud hovered away once more (Yea, really repetitive, I know). This time headed towards a small house. In it’s driveway parked a small car. It was a Pontiac Solstice. Without wasting anytime, the cloud made it’s move and struck again. The bolt landed perfectly and a shade of pale yellow began covering the car. The metallic orange paint job slowly disappeared below the pale yellow. Pink butterflies occasionally appeared on the car. It remained still as the cloud left.

This time the cloud flew into a housing area. Cars of all sorts were all parked in their respective driveways. The cloud hovered above one automobile in particular. A ‘69 Dodge Charger. The cloud zapped the car with a bolt of orange lightning. Slowly, the car’s glossy red paint job faded away and a fresh coat of orange decorated it along with some apples close to the gas cap. Again, like the others, it did not move. Instead it remained idle.

The cloud headed for the city nearby. Parked in front of an apartment was an orange Ford Focus ST with white stripes running down it’s middle. The cloud hovered over it and zapped it after hovering over it for five minutes. A streak of lavender electricity struck from the clouds and hit the compact car. The orange was replaced by a mixture of colors. With the lighter color at the bottom slowly fading into a shade of lavender towards the top. The white stripes turned into pink.

The cloud dissipated. And all was normal. Until the Ford Focus, revved to life, it’s headlights glowed purple as it revved its engine once more.
