Chapter 9: One on One

Without saying a single thing Pinkie jumped off her bed, hitting Discord square in the chest as she wrapped herself around him, never wanting to let go of him again. He let out a quiet chuckle as he hugged her back, a happy hum escaping from her lips. From behind Discord Mrs Cake watched in horror, the sight of the god of chaos having scared the daylight out of her, but had also peaked her curiosity. When she saw Pinkie hugging him the way she was, Mrs Cake couldn't help but feel protective of her, Pinkie was almost like a daughter to her now. Of course, Discord knew this, so as soon as Pinkie let go he moved towards Mrs Cake, lowering himself down so he wasn't as intimidating.

"I know that you feel protective, but I mean no pony any harm" Discord said calmly, in such a way that Mrs Cake couldn't help but believe him. After Discord gave her a small smile Mrs Cake headed downstairs, wanting to continue her work rather then intrude on the two of them, who obviously had a lot of catching up to do. Thankfully Mr Cake didn't see Discord come in, otherwise he would have had quite a few words for the thousand year old god, and none of them being nice.

"Pinkie, I'm sorry for not being there for the past week" Discord said, genuinely apologizing to Pinkie for what happened, "Celestia took me out of the stone and interrogated me, eager to find out if I was really in love with you or not"

"What did she say?" Pinkie asked, a very worried look quickly taking the place of her smile. Discord gave Pinkie a small smile as he walked over to her bedside, sitting down next to her.

"Yes" Discord answered quickly, Pinkie's shocked reaction telling him to actually say it, "Pinkie, I do love you" With a loud squeal of excitement Pinkie wrapped her forelegs around Discord, pulling him so close that if it wasn't for his flexible spine she probably would have snapped him in half. Discord opted to be the reasonable one in this exchange, only giving Pinkie a pat on the back until she left him go, and it was then when he quickly leaned in to give her a loving kiss.

"Do you know about..." Pinkie asked, looking down at her stomach rather than actually saying it, and Discord understood what she meant. With a sad smile he nodded, making Pinkie feel down as well, but he quickly went to fix that.

"I know it seems like it'll be hard, but I'll be here for both you, and her, okay?" Discord said, resting a hand on her stomach as he did. While they looked at each other happily he felt a strong kick, making him laugh loudly, much to Pinkie's confusion. He continued to laugh for a few minutes before calming down, finally allowing Pinkie to ask a question.

"What's so funny?" Pinkie asked, raising an eyebrow at Discord as he whipped away a stray tear from his eyes.

"I felt her kick" Discord said cheerfully, making Pinkie smile. The two of them began to laugh together for a while, eventually laying back down onto the bed together. Without saying anything Pinkie turned towards Discord, snuggling up against him with a happy hum, making him smile as well. It had been just over seven months since they had last been this close together, and now that they were together again they couldn't be happier. Everything that had been happening to Pinkie since Celestia come to her seemed to leave her mind as she snuggled Discord.

"Got any plans for today Pinkie?" Discord asked, turning face Pinkie with a smile still on his face.

"Not that I know of, why?" Pinkie asked back, not sure why Discord would ask her something like that. Without saying anything Discord closed his eyes, confusing Pinkie. Eventually she fell asleep as well, and as had become common over the past seven months she slipped straight into a dream...

---------------------------------------------------------------

"Took you long enough" Discord complained as the dream solidified itself, becoming a bright and colorful landscape. When she looked all around her she saw a ring of trees around the two of them, as well as a small house. Pinkie turned to face Discord, raising an eyebrow at him as she smiled.

"What's all this about?" Pinkie asked, nodding her head towards the house in the middle of the clearing. Discord got up from where he was laying, making his way towards the house, motioning for Pinkie to follow him up. When they got into the house Pinkie was met with the smell of freshly baked sweets. Heading into the kitchen she found trays of brownies, cupcakes, and muffins, as well as a full cake, just begging her to eat them.

"Go ahead Pinkie, they're for you" Discord said as he entered the kitchen, seeing Pinkie's hungry eyes as she looked at the treats. Within a second Pinkie was chowing down on the treats, having eaten the entire cake in one bite. Discord watched with a happy smile as Pinkie devoured all the treats that he had created for her, giggling happy every time she moved to the next tray over. Just as she was getting to the end of the brownies Discord pulled another tray out from behind him, which had a quadruple chocolate ice cream cake on it, complete with tiny brownie bits inside.

"Is that for me..." Pinkie asked as her eyes grew as wide as the moon. She utterly amazed by how much chocolate was on one desert, and with Discord being the one to hand it to her.

"Of course Pinkie, who else would it be for?" Discord asked jokingly, placing the cake down on the counter next to her. She then tried to eat the cake all in one bite, but the pure chocolaty flavors were just too much for her, and she passed out in a "chocolate coma". Discord smiled a laughed, placing a soft kiss on her forehead before disappearing.

"I'll see you again soon, my sweet pie"
