When I Awoke...

by Travislolmin

Rain. All I see is rain. But, what exactly is rain? Is it a sign that resembles the emotions I feel right now? And for that matter, why do I feel the way I do?
I pushed myself up from the grass I lay upon. Why were these questions going through my head, shouldn’t I know the answers to them? That’s when I was struck with the fact that I didn’t even know who I was? My heart skipped a beat. Why don’t I know who I am? I thought to myself, trying to avoid breaking the reason for not knowing who I was down to, amnesia.
“Where am I?” I spoke out loud, hoping someone was near me to hear. There wasn’t, I was all alone on a hill in the rain. I gazed upon my hands, they ached with pain. To my surprise, what I looked upon was not hands, but hooves.
Why were there hooves where my hands should be? My sanity was almost broken and my heart was beating faster than ever. I screamed as if I were a mad man “Where the hell am I?!” I tried to stand up, but failed and stumbled to the ground. I couldn’t stand on two feet, no, they were hooves too.
Standing on four hooves, I slowly walked out of the dark forest I was in. The long walk felt agonizingly painful on my aching hooves. All through the walk I was thinking about who and what I was, where I was, and how I got here.
While thinking, I bumped into a tree, but not just any tree, a great big apple tree. I was amazed to find the apple tree for I was starving, so I partook a bite of one of the apples I took from the tree. Then I looked around to find I was surrounded by apple trees. I said to myself a little to loudly “Is this an apple orchard?” then I heard a voice from behind me in a country accent “Sure are, yer on sweet apple acres, the finest orchard in all of Equestria!”
The voice of another startled me. The sudden loud voice through rain startled me into a blind freight causing me to run face first into one the trees, I fell to the ground, I was amazingly still conscious. But I was blacking out, and fast. The last thing I saw was an orange colored pony walking towards me. I thought to myself. An orange pony, what? A large bright shiny apple fell right between my eyes, causing me to fully black out.
When I awoke, I was lying on a large ragged red couch, it was morning. The bright light covered my warm body. It wasn’t raining when I woke. I sat up quickly and got off the old couch. I wanted to get out of here as fast as I could. I fell in agonizing pain, why was I aching so badly? “Whoa there fella, yer bruised pretty bad how about you just take it easy. Now, why don’t ya tell me who you are.”
