Chapter 1: It begins

It begins

Applebloom continued down the dark road, headlights lighting up the road ahead. She had never driven this road, but it couldn't be that much more dangerous. The trees reached menacingly from the shadows, but she had toughened since she was a filly and continued driving.

All of a sudden, a pony-shaped shadow lept from the shadows into the middle of the road. Applebloom swerved to miss the pony, right into a tree. The two collided, throwing Applebloom forward in her seat, the airbag deploying before her head could collide with the windshield. She groaned.

"Well that's just great, how am ah supposed to get home now?"

She got out of her motor-carriage and trotted towards the front. The front end was pulverized, it was obvious her carriage wasn't going anywhere soon. She let out a moan of frustration, before spotting the top end of a tower just above the trees. Curious, she walked through the trees, hoping that it was inhabited. Her hopes rose as a large manor manifested from the darkness, with a light shining from the porch.

She galloped up the steps and knocked on the door, before freezing. Her hoof was covered in blood. She looked down, and saw a puddle of fresh blood streaking from underneath the door. She let out a scream before galloping down the steps and a ways from the door. She composed herself as quick as she could.

"This is the only way of getting help in 20 miles, ah need to go in and help."

Applebloom looked around. Near the house was a shed. Maybe their was a crowbar or something she could defend herself with. She walked up and opened the door. It was a normal shed, with shelves and various tools, although nothing she could use to defend herself. She was about to give up when she spotted a wooden handle. Applebloom grabbed it with her mouth, revealing it to be a woodcutting axe.

"Purfech!" she said with a jump. She trotted out the door and up the porch, being careful not to step in the blood. She knocked on the door, clanging with each knock.

"Ang, aint no way gish is getting ghrough that. Ayhe hairs a hack entrance?"

She looked around, and spotted a cellar entrance on the opposite side of the house. She trotted over, and saw that it was looked with an old rusty lock. She rose the axe with her head and swung, the blade burying itself in the door no where near the lock. She cursed, adjusted her aim, and swung again. It met its mark perfectly, but the lock was only damaged. She repeated the motion, and the lock broke. Satisfied with herself, Applebloom put the axe down and opened the doors. She grabbed the axe and jumped into the cellar.Unfortuantly the old wood couldn't hold her weight, and with a scream she fell into the darkness.
