For 50 years ago in the summer of 1930's young Granny Smith lived by herself in an old house in the middle of Ponyville near the cafe. It was years before Applejack went to the Canterlot rodeo, and Derpy destroyed towns hall. The pony had traveled across Equestria. Every year that young mare took part of the yearly Apple family reunion every summer. Later at the end of that summer had Smith taken part of the reunion in an orchard outside Ponyville. Apple family members came from Manehattan on. The autumn came, as the everyday without much happening passed by. But then Smith had been waken up late at night. It were sounding like some had been in her room, but she could not see who.

"I don't believe these strange things had happened every night." Granny Smith said to herself.

The Wonderbolts that Smith talked the next morning to could not either find out what it could had been. Soarin' and the other pegasus ponies searched for the one that could had sneaked into the Smith's house. Uncle Strudel from a rock farm in the south then came by to Smith's house one evening, as he had visited old haunted houses across Equestria. The night arrived, as Uncle Strudel woke up to guard the house. Smith could not sleep.

"Every night a fast paced thing runs in my house, and it's not any animal." Smith told Uncle Strudel.

"That makes me think that your house is haunted, and I know some old ponies had lived here before." the farmer pony told Smith.

Later that night had Uncle Strudel and Granny Smith heard noises of invisble things, and it were not animal noises.

"I wonder why you still are hauting this house." Uncle Strudel said to the invisbile thing.

The corpse of a very old pony came to sight. Both Uncle Strudel and Granny Smith got startled. That pony looked bloody and butchered. But then the pony that had been covered in blood suddenly went away again. Early that morning were the two ponies leaving the house, and they would not come back. Nopony would live there too, as they saw the same bloody entity.  That made Granny Smith move to Sweet Apple Acres where she lived for a long time. Some decades later had she met with Big Mac that once lived and worked in Canterlot. Big Mac and Granny Smith had both met at the family reunion. Since that day was Big Mac and Granny Smith living together.
