Chapter 1: The First Morning

Chapter 1: The First Morning

It was early in the morning when Sweetie Belle woke up, her eyes slowly fluttering open to the morning sun. As she rolled over she heard her mother trotting up to the bottom of the stairs, preparing to shout up.

"Sweetie Belle, time to wake up!" her mother called up, waking Sweetie up fully.

"I'll be down in a minute mom!" Sweetie called back happily as she climbed out of her bed, her hooves hitting the floor with a small thud. She headed towards the door but froze when she saw something white sticking up in her mirror. Heading over to it she saw that the white thing she seen was actually attached to her back, and it, or they, were...

"Wings?" Sweetie Belle asked as she looked closer into the mirror, trying to see if she was just hallucinating or if they were part of some elaborate prank that somepony was throwing on her. When she got close to the mirror she saw the wings twitch at the same time, at the same time that she had felt a breeze coming from the window. There was no doubt about it, the wings were part of her body, but how they got there scared Sweetie. Did somepony come and perform an experiment on her at night, did she do this to herself, or was she...

a Changeling?! Sweetie started to panic when that thought surfaced in her mind. If she was a Changeling her parents would hate her, her friends would hate her, EVERYPONY would hate her. During her panic attack she heard somepony trotting up the stairs to her room, which only made things worse.

"Sweetie, is everything okay?" Sweetie's dad asked as he moved to open the door, but he was pushed back as Sweetie rammed in to it, so that it would stay shut.

"Everything's okay dad, I'm just..." Sweetie looked around for something she could use as an excuse, "Trying on one of the dresses Rarity made for me!" She could tell her dad was still at the door for a moment, but once he had accepted that Sweetie was actually trying on a dress he headed down the stairs, his hoofsteps echoing after him. Now that Sweetie had said she was trying on a dress, she actually had to do it, even though she didn't like it. Looking into her closet Sweetie found a few of the dresses that she "liked", but none of them would be acceptable to wear for school without there being a special occasion or something like that, so she went back to looking. After a few minutes of searching she found a plain white dress, with some pink accents on it that helped it go with her mane, so she tried it on. The wings made it tight and uncomfortable, but it would serve both of it's purposes, the first being to make sure her parents wouldn't find out she was lying to them, and the second being a way to conceal her wings.

"Sweetheart, are you almost done, your eggs are starting to get cold!" her mom called up the stairs, which made Sweetie hurry up and get her mane brushed so she wouldn't look messy in her dress. As she headed downstairs she could feel her wings pressing against the fabric of the dress, which made every movement uncomfortable for her. It felt as if she had gained fifty pounds and was trying to wear a dress that was three sizes too small. Her mom seemed to notice this when Sweetie sauntered into the kitchen.

"Sweetie, is everything alright?" her mom asked worriedly, watching as Sweetie nearly toppled over because of her left wing pushing out a bit too much.

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine" Sweetie Belle said quickly, her voice squeaking a bit from how nervous she was. Even though her parents noticed the squeak they didn't pay any more attention to it as they went on with their morning. They had a small conversation as Sweetie Belle got her breakfast and scarfed it down. Once she was done eating Sweetie put her plate in the sink before making her way out the front door so she could go to school, but there was one thing she had forgotten about...

"Oh Sweetie, you're wearing the dress I made for you!" Rarity cheered as she ran up to Sweetie Belle, picking her up happily in her hooves so she could swing her around. After a few minutes Rarity put Sweetie Belle down, a giant smile still stuck on her face.

"What made you want to wear my dress today Sweetie?" Rarity asked happily as she continued to beam at Sweetie.

"Oh, uh, well..." Sweetie stammered as she tried to come up with some elaborate lie that Rarity would believe, but nothing was coming to mind, which made her wings start to flare up, catching Rarity's attention. Out of curiosity Rarity lifted the dress up with her magic, allowing Sweetie's wings to shoot straight up and out. Her gasp managed to echo across the town as she stared at Sweetie's new pair of white majestic wings that were coming out of her back.

"What happened to you Sweetie?!" Rarity asked dramatically, catching the attention of her parents, who were still inside the kitchen. When they came outside their mom fainted, smashing right against their dad, causing both of them to hit the ground with a thud. As her dad tried to roll their mom off of himself Rarity and Sweetie Belle ran off, not wanting to get them involved with this until they figured out what was going on. Only problem is, Sweetie Belle couldn't cut class today, there was casting for the school play going on today, and if Sweetie didn't make it she would get an F on her report card for it.

"I have to go to school!" Sweetie shouted as she started to turn away from Rarity, who was giving her a quick nod. Rarity was heading to Twilight's place, so she didn't quite card that Sweetie had somewhere else to be, all she hoped for was that Sweetie's dress would be able to hide her wings long enough. As Sweetie came up to the school house she could hear Cheerilee already giving away the roles to which every ponies were inside already. With her hoof on the door knob Sweetie slowly opened the door, just in time too.

"All right, the only role we have now is..." Cheerilee said, her attention to the door, "Celestia!"

"What?" Sweetie Belle replied out of confusion, not knowing what she had just walked into. She looked around in confusion to see everypony in her class, even her friends, laughing at how clueless she was. Looking over to Miss Cheerilee she saw that even she was trying hard to stop herself from laughing. Eventually she managed to calm down enough to tell Sweetie what just happened.

"Sweetie, you just got the role of Celestia in the school play!" Cheerilee said, trying not to laugh as Sweetie's jaw dropped so fast it could have done a sonic rainboom if it had been higher up. Her jaw continued to hang open as she looked around the classroom, to see many of the fillies and colts dressed up in their outfits already, with Applebloom and Scootaloo being Applejack and Rainbow Dash, respectively.

"How come I'm not Rarity?" Sweetie asked, thinking that it was odd that she wouldn't get the role of her own flesh and blood sister. When Cheerilee didn't do anything but give Sweetie and awkward look she started to look around the room more closely, seeing a familiar three diamond mark resting on Diamond Tiara's desk.

"What?!" Sweetie Belle shouted, her rage causing her wings as a natural response, which was to flare up as a way to intimidate an opponent or aggressor. This caused her dress to rise up behind her, catching the attention of everypony in the room.

"Sweetie, what's going on with your dress..." Cheerilee asked as she slowly crept up to Sweetie, quickly ripping the dress off her back to see what was going on, in the process revealing Sweetie's wings to everypony in the class. Everypony gasped loudly enough to wake the dead, or Rainbow Dash in this case. High up in the sky a certain Pegasus stirred, being woken up by the sound of an entire class gasping at the same time.

"The f..." Rainbow muttered as she leaned over the edge of her cloud with her eyes half open. Little did she know that down below Sweetie Belle was being laughed at by her entire class, even her only two friends being suspicious of her. The rest of the day Sweetie had to deal with jokes about her really trying to be Celestia by getting a fake pair of wings, or that she was some sort of mutant pony. Silently, Sweetie prayed for time to go faster, because all she wanted to do was go home as soon as she could, but all her praying only seemed to make the clock go slower...

Chapter 2: School Days

Chapter 2: School Days

"Can this day go any slower?" Sweetie whined as she looked at the clock for the hundredth time in the last ten minutes. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon giggled as they watched Twist examining every little detail from her desk, leaning out so far that somepony could make her fall by just breathing on her. Applebloom and Scootaloo were sitting backwards in their seats as they watched Sweetie repeatedly lift up her head just to drop it back down on her hooves again, making a small thud sound each time. Cheerilee didn't seem to mind that everypony was staring at Sweetie, probably because she was focusing on the script for the play that was coming up in a few weeks, which had caused this entire fiasco because Sweetie was put as Celestia.

Now that she thought about it, why were they even doing a play that had Celestia in it? Sweetie Belle raised her head up from her desk quickly so she could go up to Cheerilee, but just as she got ready to move she felt somepony pluck a feather out of her wing.

"Ow!" Sweetie cried as the pain shot up from the end of her wing, making her eyes water.

"Oh, uh, sorry..." Twist said quietly, her pasty face turning bright red.

"Oh look, Wingie Belle's about to cry!" Diamond Tiara cheered, causing everypony to focus their attention on her. When all their eyes focused on her Sweetie felt her face flush red as her wings popped up, stiffening up completely. A chorus of laughter erupted from the class, snapping Cheerilee out of her thoughts.

"Looks like the dams are about to break!" Silver Spoon said, poking at Sweetie Belle just enough to make her want to run away, but Cheerilee jumped in.

"Hey, leave Sweetie alone and get back to your work!" Cheerilee ordered, but Diamond Tiara decided to me a smart little filly.

"But Miss Cheerilee, you haven't given us any work" Diamond Tiara said while she gave Sweetie a toothy grin, as if she had just beat her at something. Cheerilee froze for a moment as she thought about it, her hoof quickly coming up to her face in a facehoof when she realized that Diamond Tiara was right. With a loud breath Cheerilee turned around and headed to her desk, quickly rummaging through it to find something for the class to do that would be productive. After about a minute of her rushed movements Cheerilee came up from her disk, a smile on her face.

"Ok, now, I want each of you to find something on this list, and do it" Cheerilee said as she slapped a long list down on one of the empty desks she had at the front of the classroom. Slowly each member of the class crept up to the desk, all of them afraid of what kind of horrible things would lie in wait on that list. After the first few of them looked at the list the mood changed to one of interest, as they had all come away with smiles on their faces. The last ponies to get something to do were the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and it ended up leaving them the worst item on the list.

"Clean every desk in the classroom until they shine?!" Scootaloo complained as she look at the desks, some of them looking like they had been used as target practice for a Unicorn. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon shot each other devilish smiles before looking down at their desks. They had probably the messiest and most destructive tasks on the list, and with the Crusaders being the ones to clean desks at the end of the day...

"Oh no, I spilled the bright red paint all over my desk!" Diamond Tiara said as if it had been an accident, when she had actually just pushed it over with her hoof, making sure that none of it landed on her smooth pink coat. Scootaloo moved to clean it up when Silver Spoon stuck her hoof out, causing Scootaloo to fly right into the paint, covering her in it.

"Oh come on!" Scootaloo whined as she smacked her wet hooves against the ground before shooting an angry glare up at Silver Spoon. Scootaloo knew she had done it on purpose, and by Celestia she was going to get back at her for it. As Scootaloo left to get the paint out of her coat and mane Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon gave each other a high hoof, which Sweetie saw out of the corner of her eye.

"Applebloom, I think Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are up to something" Sweetie whispered to Applebloom as she continued to scrub the horribly disgusting desk that they had chosen to start on.

"Why do you think that?" Applebloom asked confusedly as she popped up from under the desk, her face covered in dust. Sweetie didn't say anything, but it was pretty obvious why she thought that as the two of them had started to do their little dance, ending it with their cliche butt bump. Applebloom raised an eyebrow at them before turning back to Sweetie Belle.

"Where'd Scoots go?" Applebloom asked, now noticing that Scootaloo was nowhere to be found.

"She had to go clean herself up after those two made her trip into the red paint Diamond Tiara spilled everywhere" Sweetie said angrily as she started scrubbing the desk harder than before. Applebloom shrugged and went back to her work under the desk, just as Scootaloo came out of the bathroom. She came trotting over to the desk with an annoyed look on her face.

"I hate those two" Scootaloo said angrily as she looked at Sweetie Belle. The two of them stared at each other for a moment before Sweetie started to squint at her. There was an odd silence as Sweetie leaned closer to Scootaloo's face, until her horn started to glow.

"You missed a spot" Sweetie said as she leaned back, pulling off some red paint that was behind Scootaloo's ear using her magic.

"Oh, thanks" Scootaloo said before she turned to stare at Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, already planning her revenge. Sweetie stared at them with her, which caused a chill to go up the bullies' spines and making them turn around. Their eyes met for a moment before Cheerilee looked up from her script long enough to catch them.

"You four, stop that!" Cheerilee said, staring at them with cold eyes until they backed down and went back to what they had been working on. When the Crusaders finally finished with the one desk they stood up and wiped sweat from their brow, just as the bell to go home went as well. They looked around to see most of the class packing up their projects so they could keep working on them tomorrow.

"Oh, looks like the Cutie Mark Cru-failers are going to be staying late to get the desks cleaned today~" Diamond Tiara said happily as her and Silver Spoon sauntered out of the classroom, leaving the three fillies with Cheerilee. They all let out a sigh at the same time, making all of them look up with confused looks on their faces.

"Did we...?" the four of them asked each other, making them more surprised than confused, "Are we...?" They continued to look at each other in confusion for a minute before shrugging it off and going back to whatever they were doing. Within a few minutes the rest of the desks were clean because the Crusaders were able to divide and conquer while Cheerilee watched, a small smile on her face. When they looked over to admire their work Sweetie's wings flapped, throwing all of the dust that was on the floor into the air.

"Uh oh..." Sweetie said as she looked around, seeing every single desk in the room covered in a fresh layer of dust, as well as the other three ponies in the room. They all gave her an angry stare before leaving her all alone. All alone to clean every single desk again, by herself.

"I guess I deserve this..." Sweetie said with a sad sigh as she got to dusting the desks clean again, the sun going down over the horizon outside the schoolhouse's windows.

Chapter 3: Freak Out Time

Chapter 3: Freak Out Time

As Sweetie Belle dusted off the last desk she heard somepony slowly opening the door, poking her head in just as slowly. Passing it off as a stray animal trying to find some food in the schoolhouse after the sun went down. When the "animal" crept up behind her Sweetie froze up completely, becoming as still as a statue, until she heard a familiar voice.

"Sweetie?" Rarity asked, allowing Sweetie to let out a sigh of relief. She turned around slowly and gave her sister a hug, not wanting to verbally acknowledge the fact that she thought she was about to die. Rarity seemed to be taken aback by the sudden hug, but she pushed it aside as she remembered why she was there.

"What are you still doing here, it's already past sundown" Rarity asked, making Sweetie look outside the window to see Luna's full moon already fairly high in the sky. Sweetie looked around for the clock, now seeing that it was quarter past eight, meaning she was supposed to be in bed within fifteen minutes, or else. In all honesty she didn't know what the "or else" entailed, but Sweetie didn't want to ever find out. From what she remembered about the punishments that Rarity would get whenever she would stay out late to work on her dresses and designs, Sweetie really didn't want to find out what would happen to her.

"Sweetie?" Rarity asked as she pushed her face right into Sweetie's line of sight, startling her.

"Oh, uh, I had to stay and clean the classroom" Sweetie said, blushing slightly but it wasn't visible in the dim moonlight, "It was the job I got from Cheerilee's duty list" Rarity seemed to accept that reasoning, so she shrugged and levitated the duster out of Sweetie's hoof, putting it down on the shelf that ran along the back wall.

"Well, you're done for now, you have to come with me to the library now" Rarity said as she turned around to lead Sweetie out of the room. Without objecting to it Sweetie followed, being sure that the door to the schoolhouse was secure before she went with Rarity. As they trotted into town Sweetie noticed a strange absence of anypony running around in a rush to get home before it became pitch black. Over the horizon there was a bright tower of light, which Sweetie knew was Twilight's library, since it was usually the only building that had every light on after eight in the evening.

"Why are we going to the library?" Sweetie asked as she saw Rarity start to turn towards it, making her turn around to reply.

"We're going to get those figured out" Rarity said, pointing at Sweetie's wings to get the point across. Sweetie looked back at them before dropping her head down, feeling as if she was somehow a worse pony because of them. She knew they made her stand out like a sore horn, but were they really bad enough that Rarity had to speak about them the way she did? It was as if she hated the wings, like they were doing something horrible to her every time she looked at them. In an attempt to cheer herself up Sweetie began to hum, and over time it grew into a little song.

"Growing wings in a day~" Sweetie sang as they came right up the front of the library. Her singing seemed to have calmed Rarity down, so when she knocked on the door she was calm and collected, instead of her original plan which was to freak out and beg Twilight to fix her precious little sister. When Twilight came to the door Rarity coughed, as if she was preparing to do a speech.

"Twilight, I have a bit of a problem" Rarity said calmly, with a sincere smile on her face.

"What going on Rarity?" Twilight asked innocently, somehow still oblivious to Sweetie Belle's presence.

"Well, you see..." Rarity trailed off as she looked over to Sweetie, who was humming again with a happy smile on her face. Twilight didn't see anything wrong with her at first, but her eyes soon settled on the two white wings protruding from Sweetie's back. Her jaw hung open as she continued to stare at Sweetie, her brain trying to remember how to ask what in Celestia's good name was going on.

"How... What... Why?!" Twilight finally shouted as her brain finally got back up to speed. Her eyes started to dilate when Sweetie looked at her, one of the wings twitching ever so slightly, meaning that they were definitely real, and it didn't make any sense. How did Sweetie Belle of all ponies get wings? Why did she get wings? How is she able to control them so easily? Why does she seem so happy about it? Where does it say a Unicorn can grow wings? Is it even plausible? How would Celestia re-

"Aha!" Twilight said happily as she realized what she needed to do, just before she disappeared into the library, the sound of somepony rummaging through stacks of papers to try and find something coming out a second later after some quick shouts at Spike to send the letter that was sitting on the desk. Rarity and Sweetie were still standing outside when Twilight came running back, her magic quickly covering them as she yanked them inside, eager to find out everything she could about Sweetie's wings before Celestia showed up and got rid of them.

"So, when did you find that you had wings?" Twilight asked quickly, confusion both Sweetie and Rarity.

"Twilight, I thought you would know how to fix this" Rarity said as she gave Twilight a curious look.

"I don't. Sent a letter to Celestia. She'll fix it. Now..." Twilight slowed down for a second, "Answer the question" Sweetie and Rarity exchanged nervous looks before Twilight snapped both of their heads forwards so they'd look at her, a crazed look in her eyes.

"Uh..." Sweetie said nervously as she tried to remember, her mind in shambles right now because of how scary Twilight was being.

"That's not a good answer!" Twilight shouted, making both of them jump.

"I woke up with them in the morning!" Sweetie Belle cried in fear as Twilight stared her down, her eyes looking deep into Sweetie's very being.

"Did you also wake up with your cutie mark?" Twilight asked as she started to poke Sweetie's flank, pointing out the pink bell with a purple musical note beside it that was not resting on Sweetie's flank. Rarity looked down at it for a moment before looking up at Sweetie's scared expression, not only because she had earned her cutie mark without her friends, but also because Twilight was trying to peel it off, as though it was some sort of temporary tattoo. Just before Twilight began stabbing it the door to the library opened, revealing Celestia to be standing in the doorway.

"Twilight Sparkle!" Celestia said out of surprise, her voice snapping Twilight back to reality and making her jump far away from Sweetie Belle and Rarity. Twilight tried to come up with some sort of excuse as to why she was in such a weird place when Celestia came in, but nothing she could think of was going to get her out of this awkward situation. Celestia seemed to ignore it and picked up Twilight's note pad, reading the one thing she managed to scribble down.

"So you woke up with those this morning?" Celestia asked inquisitively. It was almost like a good cop bad cop routine, but with the bad cop being completely insane.

"Yes ma'am" Sweetie answered humbly, not wanting to upset Celestia for any reason, somewhat afraid that she might do exactly what Twilight did. Celestia slowly trotted in a circle around Sweetie, looking over every inch of the wings before looking back at Sweetie, even going so far as to sit down across from her.

"Did you notice anything strange happening around the last few days?" Celestia asked, her eyes narrowing so she could examine every detail about Sweetie's face.

"Well, I saw a feather that I found at the royal wedding start to shake every now and then, but that's it" Sweetie answere honestly, which changed Celestia's expression to one of surprise.

"What do you mean you found a feather at the wedding?" Celestia asked, an idea starting to form in her head as to what happened.

"Well, I found a beautiful white feather on the ground, so I decided to keep it for fun" Sweetie answered honestly. Celestia seemed to have an idea what was going on, but she didn't say anything until she had thought about it for five more minutes.

"Sweetie, the feather you grabbed, was mine" Celestia said sternly, "It's magic reacted to your own and caused this to happen. Or at least, that's what I think happened, based on the evidence you've given me so far" Rarity and Sweetie Belle exchanged nervous looks before turning back to the princess. Not even she really knew what was going on, she only had a vague idea, and a flimsy one at that. With no pony having much of anything else to say Celestia left, giving Twilight a look before she shut the door.

"Now what?" Sweetie asked, giving Rarity a worried look.

"I'm not sure..." Rarity said slowly as she stared at the ground, "I guess we try to make you seem like nothings changed, but if that fails..." The two sisters didn't say anything else as they got up and left, leaving Twilight to roll around in the fetal position on the floor while muttering something about "The wings!" and "Dream"

Chapter 4: Keep It Under Wraps

Chapter 4: Keep It Under Wraps

After leaving the library Rarity led Sweetie to her boutique, where she ran upstairs without saying anything. Sweetie waited downstairs for a few minutes until she returned, a beautiful white fabric that perfectly matched her coat color. Rarity wrapped the fabric around Sweetie's midsection, making sure that her wings were hidden without bothering Sweetie too much.

"What's that for?" Sweetie asked, until she looked back to see that her wings were basically gone, save for the small bumps that were on either side. The fabric had even managed to blend in with her coat enough that unless they stared at her no pony would be able to tell it was even there. Rarity had a victorious smile on her face until the fabric unraveled from Sweetie's wings pushing out on them because she had gotten excited.

"Sweetie, you have to try and control that" Rarity said disapprovingly, looking at Sweetie with an annoyed look, "We can't let anypony find out about this"

"Why not?" Sweetie asked as she picked up the fabric and put it on a chair, "My entire class at school already knows, and I'm sure half the town does by now" Sweetie kicked the ground lightly with her hoof, which caused a hollow click to echo throughout the boutique. Neither of the two sisters spoke until Rarity picked up the fabric again, this time sowing it shut to it wouldn't pop off when Sweetie's wings tried to extend. Out of curiosity Sweetie tried to extend her wings to their full length, but all it did was make her feel constricted and confined.

"It worked this time!" Sweetie shouted happily, her trademark squeak slipping into her voice. Rarity beamed with happiness as she trotted towards the door, motioning with her head for Sweetie to follow her. It was late at night and their parents were sure to be worried that Sweetie wasn't home yet, and Rarity hadn't given them a reason why. As they walked neither of them noticed when the thread Rarity had used to tie the fabric got caught on a twig. When they got to their parents' house the fabric was just barely hanging on, but again neither of them noticed it.

*Knock, Knock*

"Is it them?!" their mother shouted as she ran to the door, her frantic hoofsteps being heard through it. The door opened within the blink of an eye, a very frantic looking mare on the other side, behind her stood a calm and collected stallion. The contrast between their parents was almost ironic, but neither Rarity nor Sweetie laughed at it, knowing that their mother would probably freak if they did.

"Oh where have you been, oh my poor baby!" their mother wailed as she picked Sweetie Belle up to hug her tight, as if letting go would make her disappear forever, "What were you two doing, being out so late at night?!"

"Oh, she was, uh..." Rarity stammered, trying to come up with a believable lie, "Helping me with an order! She was helping me get the sizing right!" Their mother looked at her closely for a few seconds before letting Sweetie go.

"Come on, in you go" she said as she pushed Sweetie inside, "Go wash up and get to bed, okay Sweetie?"

"Uh... Okay!" Sweetie said after giving Rarity a worried look, but the worried look Rarity was giving her was for a far different reason. Once Sweetie was upstairs and in bed their mother let loose on Rarity for not telling them that she was keeping Sweetie Belle later than normal for work, and for using her little sister as a living mannequin. Their father managed to calm her down before she let her more colorful language come out, giving Rarity the chance she needed so she could head home and get some sleep, if she was going to get any at all. Upstairs in Sweetie's room the filly was trying her best to get the fabric off without ripping it so she could sleep better. As soon as it was off she climbed into bed, making sure to not lay directly on her wings.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next morning Sweetie was woken up to a loud crash coming from right beside her, causing her to snap up immediately. Looking around everything seemed normal, until she saw her mother's pink hoof twitching to the left of her bed. Sweetie looked over the edge carefully, as though she was looking over the edge of a cliff, and saw her mother with crazy eyes.

"Wings... Sweetie... My baby has wings..." was all Sweetie could understand of her mother's quiet mumbles. It was then when Sweetie jumped off her bed and looked into the mirror, seeing that her wings were fully outstretched, which means that her mother... saw... them...

"Honey, are you okay?!" her father shouted from downstairs, making Sweetie's brain go into full panic mode. Fabric! Where was it?! Where did she put it last night?! Would she be able to get it on before her dad-

"SWEETIE BELLE?!"

"Oh bunny farts..."

"WHY DO YOU HAVE WINGS?!"

"I can explain!"

"You better!" was the last thing her father said before she sat down on her bed, watching Sweetie's every move while he occasionally tapped his wife to see if she was still alive. Sweetie quickly recited everything she had learned the previous night from Celestia, and even went as far as telling him that the reason they didn't see them last night was because Rarity had used a fine fabric to conceal them. He seemed to be believing it, which allowed Sweetie to let out a sigh of relief. The whole reason that Rarity hid her wings was so no pony would find out, not even her parents, for fear of them completely losing it, but her father seemed to be taking it rather well.

"So, what happens now?" her father asked as he bent down to pick up his wife so he could carry her to their bedroom. She hadn't been showing any signs of waking up any time soon, and he definitely couldn't leave her on the floor of Sweetie's room until she did. He wouldn't hear the end of it if he did.

"I don't know..." Sweetie said, remembering what Rarity had told her, "But no pony else should ever know of this" Her father nodded before he picked up his wife, laying her across his back before he headed out the door, trying his best to not whack his head against the frame as he did. Once he was out of the room Sweetie went back to looking for the fabric from last night, finding it just barely sticking out from under her bed.

"Where were you when I needed you!" Sweetie said angrily at the fabric as she looked for a needle and thread she could use to tie it together with. Looking in the mirror she used her new magical ability she was able to sow it up tight, and after a short test of it's strength she trotted towards her parents bedroom, where the two of them were talking quietly.

"Do you think they'll take her away?" her mother asked.

"I don't know, but we have to hope they don't" her father replied.

"But what will happen to her because of it?" her mother asked again, this time sounding as though she was about to cry.

"I don't know honey" her father replied, his voice sounding a bit hoarse.

"I hope she'll be okay" her mother said, choking on her words as she tried not to cry.

"Me too..." her father said before he cleared his throat, hoping it would make the hoarseness go away, but it didn't help. Sweetie could almost feel the sadness coming from their room, so instead of going inside and causing them to break down, she headed downstairs and began to make her own breakfast. As she ate her hoofmade cereal, which was slightly burnt somehow, Sweetie could hear her parents silently sobbing, both of them afraid that they had just lost their youngest daughter. Like they had just lost their baby.

Once her breakfast was finished Sweetie put her bowl in the sink and headed out the front door. She was still a filly, and she still had school to go to, wings or not.
