Chapter 1: chapter one: Me the Brony

“You sure this what we are looking for?” I asked as we walked into the main chamber looking around completely fascinated of the architecture and statues of the ancient equestrian past.

“Well I doubt the princess wouldn’t have sent us here otherwise, besides she seemed pretty certain this is what the prophesy was referring to.” spoke a purple unicorn as she came to my side and was just as in awe as I was about when she took a good look of the room.

The walls were covered with many murals telling tales from old. Runes were engraved across the many tiles of the floor forming a pentagram. Our eyes soon fell upon the center of the room, at very core of the pentagram, a strange orb sat upon a podium.

“Does the book say anything about this room? I don’t want to step into another trap, we narrowly escaped the last one” I said as I scanned the room.

“Oh so going to let me finish read it out to you this time” teasingly said young mare as brought out a dusty old tome, enveloped in a violet glow, from her saddle bag with her magic.

“mhm” I replied regretfully recalling on my rashness that set off the trap. The mare smiled as she opened the book.

“Its ok we made out right” she said trying to reassure me as she flipped to the page we needed.
“Ah here it is, hm… not much is said is about this room except this. If it’s the orb you seek, then let it sing true. This task is through if one has two. This task can be done in a dash, so long as one doesn’t act rash. Though things will not go as planned. Unless done by another’s hand.”

“Sounds pretty straight forward” I replied confidently “all I have to do is..”

“Hold on there’s more!” exclaimed the mare, cutting me off. “Those who succeed, these words they must heed. When one has two the two will be four. The one will have three and can return no more. I don’t really understand it.

“Does that make you worry?” I ask.

The mare looked at me with concern and nodded. I scratched my head thinking it over and with I sighed I gave her my answer.
“I don’t see any other way around it and if it’s a trap then you can just get us out before things get too sticky with your magic.”

“ You really think I can do that never used it with you?” she asked.

“I have complete faith in you” I replied with a reassuring smile.

The mare gave a weak smile and nodded “ok I believe you”

I chuckled as I turn me attention back to the orb as I causally make my way towards the podium. The closer I got the more my chest would tighten as I was expecting a trap to go off at any second. My breathing became more erratic when the orb was within arm’s length. I look back at the unicorn seeing that she was just as nervous as me. I gulped and mustered all the courage I had as I reached for the orb.

A young hero arrives, from boy to colt
Brings forth a chaos but not of his fault
As the shadow give chase
The darkness he must face
The time has come he can not wait
When this young boy must choose his fate

Chapter 1: Me the Brony

The most irritable sound pierced what was once a lovely dream, forcing me back into reality. I looked at the clock that did the deed of waking me as I hit the snooze button.

“6:12 am….” I groaned with ever so slight annoyance. I was half tempted to go back to sleep but after hitting the snooze button two times before I knew this time I had to get up. I sat up looking about the room I was in. It was a mess, games controllers and cases scattered across the floor coupled with a few cans on soda and an empty plate in one corner near my bed. A bookcase filled to the brim of manga, DVDs and a few miscellaneous items.

Yep this is my room I thought to myself. I didn’t really expect nothing else to be honest I just looked about in the hopes I was somewhere else or a cute girl who I didn’t know sleeping right next to me. That would certainly make one interesting morning I chuckled to myself as I headed towards the shower.

As I was showering I tired to remember what transpired during my dreams, of course I could only remember what happened the few minutes before my alarm went off. But even then the memory was so blurred that I could only make little sense of it.

A loud bagging on the bathroom door could be heard, breaking my from my thoughts, while I was in the shower followed by an annoyed masculine voice that was muffled by the door. I sighed knowing it was my father wanting me to get out as I check the clock in the bathroom.

“Shoot!” I said barley avoiding saying a vulgar word; I seemed to have let my thoughts run away with me and spent far too long in the shower. I quickly finished up and rushed out of there, quickly grabbing a towel, and back into my room.

I leaned up against the door and sighed disappointed at myself. How many times do you have to remind yourself not to fantasize while in the shower?
I shook my head knowing full well what I am going to hear from my father later this morning. I switched on the TV as well as one of the many game consoles. I might as well decide what to listen to while I get dressed.

The morning’s music usually matched how I felt or what I felt I needed to hear at that time. I flipped to the YouTube app and typed in the letters M L P followed by the word ‘smile’. A large amount of images of a pink cartoon pony with a big grin on her face showed up almost instantly. This always put me in a better mood and boy did I need it.

This pink pony was a character from a show called ‘My Little Pony Friendship is Magic’. It was a show that was aimed at young girls but somehow it gained a large fan base of men and women within their teens or twenties and a few even older. It took the Internet by storm with people making memes, parodies and even ‘rule 34’ content.

I never really paid attention to MLP in the past in fact I found it annoying when hearing the main tune and so did the rest of the world. But the friendship was magic series was different from it previous generations and after a year of it being so popular it eventually made me look what all the fuss is about. Within the first two episodes I was hooked I couldn’t stop watching these six mares and their adventures. I was officially a brony.

As soon as I was dressed I turned off the TV and the console I headed downstairs. As I did I couldn’t help but look at these boxes in the hall. That made me look about the house checking to see what has gone missing as I headed to the kitchen, though I already knew what was in them. It wasn’t much longer till mum had to move.

I started to pour a bowl of cereal as the thoughts of mum moving went around my head. Its only had only been a few months ago that I had learnt that my parents were splitting up. Since then it had been weeks of looking for places and plans on who was taking what.

All I had to really think about was who I was going to stay with. Still it hasn’t been able to come up with the answer. It will never be an easy decision to make.

I took my bowl into the living room and began to watch whatever took my interest on the TV. Despite me being a brony I didn’t watch MLP 24/7 I found it to be more of a treat than anything else, I really watched more fan made parodies and the like. Though more recently I had been reading the fanfics, especially the romance ones.

As soon I finished my breakfast, I left the bowl in the kitchen sink and proceeded with my morning preparations for college. Most of my doziness would have left after had a shower but today it was being very persistent. Still it didn’t stop me from going up and down the stairs collecting my things as I cursed myself for not getting prepared the night before, almost tripping over my cat several times.

I made to sure to have my keys before leaving the house as I got my coat on and slung my bag over my shoulders. Out of my family I am the last one to leave in the morning and the first to come home in the evenings so I hardly get to see my parents until the late evening. Though its often that I feel a bit lonely because of that more so with them splitting up.

I try to shake the thought of my parents splitting and head off to the bus. Hopefully I could get some rest and take my mind off the whole thing. When I’m on the bus I tend to think about one of three chains of thought, current event in my life, a video game I want to play when I get the chance and my original fiction.

What going on in my life is defiantly not what I want to think about and so far I haven’t really felt the need to play a game as of late. The only thing left is my fiction.

My fiction tends to lead into the realm of fantasy of epic hero on grand adventures with nothing but a blade in hand and the will to never give in. some of my heroes fight for revenge, others against the darkness within and sometimes one who fight for love.

Though soon my thoughts move away from the epic tale of fantasy to the wondrous place called Equestria. Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Pinkie Pie, these six ponies and their adventures have been occupying my mind for so a few weeks now. It’s probably the only thing that has kept me from breaking down. Just to get away from it all even for a half an hour was enough. Though the more I got into it and the more things changed around me the more I wanted to be there with them. I knew it was almost impossible maybe but yet I still held some kind of hope that I will I least be there someday.

I got of the bus and took a deep breath getting myself into the mindset for college and tackle the day ahead of me.

At least what I thought was ahead.
