"I don't think it's that weird at all! I mean we're best friends right?"

"What...?" Rarity said a little dumbfounded while making several facial expressions ranging from cute to unreasonable. Fluttershy was okay with them kissing?

"Are you implying that you like kissing me?" Rarity confirmed.

"Oh sure! It's lovely..." She trotted off merrily down the path.

The pulse of the cave shot up. The beat and rhythm were almost primal. She seductively narrowed her eyes at the clueless looking pegasus in front of her. Those big, innocent eyes were just the guise of a master of manipulation. Fluttershy had tricked her and fooled her and lead her on, but now the gig was up. They were going to spend hours in this enchanted cave exploring each other and falling in love. She'd show Fluttershy her generous side until the morning's light.

"Fluttershy! How dare you lead me on such a long venture! Now come over here so I can punish you..." Rarity purred.

"I'm sorry Rarity! I just wanted to find the heart of dreams. Now that we have it, we can leave, I promise."

"No darling I want you to come over here and kiss me." Rarity was getting tired of these games.

"Oh ok..."

Rarity stuck out her lips and closed her eyes, waiting for the beginning of that sweet embrace. She heard Fluttershy giggle and then felt her lips on her cheeks, instead of on her own lips.

"Hee hee! I didn't mean on the lips, I just meant on the cheek." Fluttershy pecked her on the cheek again. "Only special somepony's kiss you on the lips! Friends can kiss on the cheeks!" Fluttershy continued to trot off merrily.

Rarity's eyes began to water as it sunk in. She wanted to cry. Fluttershy seemed to avoid her true feelings yet again and she made no progress, except now she had this silly priceless, ruby artifact. She just hung her head as she followed her friend. The pulse slowed as Rarity's hopes died.

Rarity had gone over to Twilight's after the horrible ordeal and was busy overreacting on her chaise longue. Twilight tried to hug a pillow over her ears to somehow block out the constant crying and complaining, but had no luck. Trixie walked in and hung her affections up.

"She's still going?" Trixie half-yelled to her lover, trying to be heard over the noise.

"Yup..." Twilight was not amused.

"Have you tried talking to her?"

"Yup..."

"Do you want Trixie to say something to her?"

"Go right ahead..."

Twilight motioned to the fabulous, flailing unicorn. Trixie forced a smile and went and sat down on Rarity's chaise longue, stroking her mane. Rarity stopped crying and looked up at her with hurt eyes.

"There there," she soothed. "Everything is alright. Tell Trixie what's the matter."

Rarity sniffled and snorted in a big glob of runny mucus back into her nose.

"Fl-fluttershy is b-being mean! I tried to kiss her and t-then she kissed me on the cheek and now everything is ruined!" Rarity barely choked out.

Trixie turned around desperately to Twilight for support who was trying to remain non-confrontational. After some angry gesturing between the two magicians Trixie turned back to the unicorn who had gently made her way into Trixie's lap and cried softly into it. Trixie sighed. Rarity was actually really cute sometimes. If she wasn't with Twilight, Rarity wouldn't be a bad backup.

"M-maybe you should tell me h-how you and Twilight found each other." Rarity's eyes begged her the same as her words.

Twilight choked on absoulutely nothing as Trixie blushed a deep scarlet.

"Uhh Trixie does not think Twilight Sparkle would approve of that." Twilight shot her an stink eye. "Trixie knows Twilight Sparkle would not approve of that," she corrected.

"But I wanna know!" Rarity whined.

"You don't want to get Trixie in trouble now, do you?" She nervously stroked Rarity's mane.

"Hmph! I wish I could get somepony in trouble for spilling how we met..." Rarity pouted as she pawed at one of Trixie's dangling locks.

"Have you tried asking her out on a date?" Trixie suggested.

"Four times. The cafe, the Heartwarming's Eve Ball, the spa and the other one you can ask Twilight about." Rarity nonchalantly listed off.

"Oh is that right?" Trixie playfully accused.

"Don't get up in arms. Fluttershy just asked us to stay in their room for three days while we were in Canterlot." Twilight waved off, eyes glued to the book.

"Why wasn't Trixie invited?"

Rarity noticed the subject shift away from her and whimpered a little. That brought Trixie's attention back to her.

"But why don't you just tell her how you feel?" Trixie wiped a tear from Rarity's eye.

"What if she doesn't share my affection...?"

"Honestly, considering all the heartache you've already gone through and still go through on a weekly basis, Trixie thinks it would be best to just tell her." Twilight shot Trixie and approving look.

Rarity sniffled and blew her nose with a tissue she got from somewhere and put her chaise longue back somewhere else..

"You're right Trixie! I need to go tell her right now!" Rarity declared. She ran out the door in the direction of Fluttershy's cottage.

Trixie smiled smugly at Twilight as she closed her back to the door, locking it with magic. Twilight saw the glimmer in her eye, got up and slowly made her way to the great and lovely mare.

"So how did Trixie do?" She smiled seductively at Twilight. "Has she not learned a thing or two about friendship?"

"Oh Trixie." Twilight stood up against the door, trapping Trixie between her hooves. "You're such a good friend. But that won't be enough for me..." She began to suck on her neck

"My my, has somepony been a little frustrated today?" Trixie gasped as soon as she felt Twilight's warm tongue. Twilight's tail moved up her legs.

"Mmm... I'm always frustrated with you..." Twilight said softly between her kisses.

"Only one way to fix that..."

*

Rarity galloped to Fluttershy's cottage as fast as her legs would carry her. Her heart was racing, after so much pent up emotional frustration, the finality of professing her heart to Fluttershy would allow her to either have her or move on. She was tired of the game and just wanted the prize or to lose already. She found Fluttershy timidly approaching a cloud that had drifted a bit low.

"Flutter darling, can you come here for a second. I have something to tell you." Next Chapter: Long Dates and Hot Waits Estimated time remaining: 2 Hours, 52 Minutes
