My name is Twilight Sparkle, Grand Mage. I live, or well, I used to live in the library of the island town of Ponyville. Why do I no longer live there? Ponyville is dying. The once bustling, close-knit community has turned into a desolate ghost town. The few who remain are either trying to find somewhere else, or trying to forget what happened during the blizzard. The blizzard that cut Ponyville off from the rest of the world.

What happened you ask? Normally I wouldn't say, I'm a bit shook up myself. But the world needs to know what happened. Be forewarned, as this story isn't for the faint of heart. This is the tale of how many innocent mares and stallions lost their lives. This is the tale of how a foal and his parents were separated, never to see each other again. But most importantly, this is the tale of how a community faced the greatest evil they had ever known.
