SS&E Dicking Around

(SS&E: dicking around to counter them feels)

“We understand, fair sister,” Luna said in a calm and dignified voice.  “As we are the one acquainted with darkness, we are more prepared to deal with fear.”

“I knew that you would be of mind,” Celestia said, though her voice was distant, like dull bells ringing higher and higher up the shaft.

Luna trotted ahead of her sibling, descending to the bottom of the stone abyss.  When she reached the frame, her trotting hooves shuffled to a slow stop.  She stared at the gnarled rectangular solid, observing its corners and mahogany hinges.  It appeared just like any other door, but in a place that steep within the bowels of the tower, she knew not what it was an entrance to.

“We believe it is stationary enough for us to approach, sister,” Luna said, though she was given no response.  Accompanied solely by the sound of her breaths, she approached the entrance to the other realm, the gate to her subconscious. With grim determination, her magic grasped the handle, and she opened the door.

Light blinded her. Taking a good look around, she was no longer in the dark bottom of the cylindrical passage, but rather at the base of a giant vault, riddled with iron wrought bolts.  She squinted at the immense door, more vexed by its enormity than by its sudden presence.  Then, on its own volition, the gigantic tumblers spun and a tall slit of light appeared.  Somewhere beyond the alabaster divide, she heard a rustling noise, growing in intensity, echoing through the claustrophobic space that suddenly surrounded her.

She glanced left and right, her heart beat rising with each layer of volume that flung vibrations through her hooves.

“Alas, what is this foul sorcery?!” she bequeathed to the open air.  Her utterance was drowned out by the rising clamor, like an ocean of claws sweeping towards her at the speed of screams.  “Dear heavens,” the Princess of the Night breathily declared, her midnight irises shrinking to tiny pinpricks.  “What have I done?!  It... It is...”  She gulped and trembled mightily.  “It is the Squirreling!”

Just then, as prophesied, a gigantic surging wall of fur slid her way.  She saw incisors a’plenty, all drooling and slicing the air like a bastion of serrated ivory.  The smell of their bushy tails was beyond rank.  Soon, they were upon her, thundering through on demon paws spawned from the utter depths of Tartarus.  There was no inhale that wasn’t a breath of rodentia, filling her nostrils, mouth, and other random orifices with their herding squalor.

“Sister!  We hath done the unthinkable!” Luna managed to scream through the tempestuous stampede.  She flailed in her vain attempts to claw out of the living river of nut-eating abominations.  “We hath reconnected the physical plane to Squirrelspace!  Now nopony is safe!”

Her putrid cries met nothing but chirps, for soon they consumed her and a bunch of other stuff that Google Drive ate up cuz I was typing faster than it could save.

God dammit, Skirts.
