Chapter 1: The Weird and Frustrating First Session

The Weird and Frustrating First Session

The incident in Ponyville was on the front page of the newspapers.

No one expected it to gain a publicity this big. It reached the ears of nobles, royalties, even the Princesses of Equestria. The one item; the Alicorn Amulet, was the center of the center of attention, Trixie.

Trixie was a showmare. Was. Her career was crushed when she tried to exact her revenge on a Twilight Sparkle, through magic duels. The first one she won, but the second one was a match far bigger than the first, which concluded her defeat. When a ponyvillan started spreading the tale of the 'Great and Pathetic' Trixie's defeat in a bar up in Canterlot, the story spread like wildfire.

Before her defeat, Trixie was a renowned showmare, more popular by her stage name; The Great and Powerful Trixie. She had even performed for a royal gathering once, with Princess Celestia in the audience.

But that detail was scrap now.

The papers named her 'The Great and Fraudy Trixie' in place of her stage name, 'The Great and Powerful Trixie!'. Everywhere she went, she would be poked fun at by passerbys. Personally, she found the kids the most annoying, albeit all of this is helping her to grow a thick skin. Though still, it's clear; her social status is destroyed.

Trixie pushed open the door to her home and closed it hastily to prevent more rain to pour through.

And to shield herself from the continuous barrage of remarks.

She sighed as she tossed aside her hat and undid her cape, hanging it on a clothe rack. From her saddlebag, she took out a bottle and twisted the cap open. She held out her hoof and started shaking the bottle over her hoof. A few capsules fell into her hoof.

Sleeping pills, was all good enough for her to knock herself, and her thoughts, out of misery, for awhile…

Hastily, she took the pills and gulped down a glass of water, followed by plopping onto the bed. Just, forget about everything, she thought to herself. Everything's going to be fine… It's all going to be fine…

I still need to get a new job.

Or, I could just stay here, and not give a care. Or get a job. Urgh, why am I taking these pills?

Right, it's to forget how pathetic I am. She drifted off to sleep slowly, the pills drugging her to sleep.

She could hear a muffled voice, echoing from a far. Her ears were ringing, and her head was throbbing. Was it calling to her?

"Hey" the voice became audible. She wanted to open her eyes, but she couldn't find the strength to do it.

"Hey" It came again.

"Hey!" It grew louder. Her entire body suddenly shook violently.

"Hey! Wake up!" This time, she forced her eyes open, but her eyes shrunk at the sight before her.

The entire surrounding was filled with nothing but a void of the colors of purple, moving around slowly. She spun around, confused, as she tried to figure if she was having another bad dream, or has she gone crazy over the course of her demise?

"Splendid! You are awake! We can start our first session now. Turn around about 90 degrees, please?"

Her body froze to a spot when she heard the voice again. Forcing herself to turn, she moved one leg at a time.

"Um, to the right, not left." She changed her direction as said.

"I'm so sorry, left." She changed again. She heard a sigh.

"Never mind, just stay there. I'll be there in a jiffy.

Actually, no. Let's just communicate like that. You don't see me, but I get to see you. It's a win-win, at least in my books."

Trixie decided to speak to the empty void. "Who are you?"

A 'hmm' echoed throughout the area. "I am suppose to ask that question, unicorn. Who are you?"

"Um, Trixie. Who are you?" Trixie reiterated nervously.

The voice laughed. "Do you want to know my name that badly?

I don't want to tell you my name. But still, you need to address me somehow later in future events. Just call me Pluto." The voice spoke with a sipping sound when it ended. "Ah, fresh apple juice."

"What do you mean of future events?" Trixie raised a brow.

"Do a guess." The voice told her.

"Um, I'm going to find a way out of my misery?"

"No." A yawn escaped the voice. "Maybe yes. To your back."

Taking that the voice meant turn around, she turned herself and saw a chalkboard standing in her view. On the chalkboard was her name written down.

"Take notes." The voice said.

"Take notes of what?" Trixie queried. As if an invisible force was around, the chalkboard was pushed forward, closer to Trixie. "Look at it. See the.., precision."

It must have meant the precision of the angles in each written letter, Trixie thought. She inspected the writings carefully and intently. From her inspection, she could see that every curve and line was....., stupendously accurate.

"These writings are.., accurate. You wrote them?"

"Yes. Pay attention." Chalk markings started to drag on the chalkboard, like an invisible hand writing on it. They formed letters, then a few more letters, then a word -

TWILIGHT SPARKLE

The name brought flashes of images to Trixie, her head started throbbing again. She frowned at the words as she brought a hoof to her head, moaning from the pain.

"Ring any bells?" The voice spoke when Trixie stayed silent.

"Urgh, yes..." The background colors shifted into a total black abyss, and the chalkboard faded into disappearance.

"But of course. You can't avoid the fact that you cheated your way through. You went to that shop and slammed down a bag of bits, and buy a magic-infused amulet. You tattle long to Ponyville and won a duel, then kicked her out, then bullied the populace, then had a second duel, lost, apologized, then left. I mean, what?

I love reading books, but that sounded like, a typical character gets beaten up then wins for some reason explicitly given. Oh, yeah. An amulet made out of a doorstop. You lost to a bookworm who was using nothing but ol' trickery. Don't forget the part when your face got slapped onto papers.

Ey! Don't take this the hard way, you are still famous! In a different way. I'm actually your biggest fan! I've got -" The voice was interrupted by a sniffing sound.

"Okay okay! Stop crying! Geeze. But tell me honestly, what the hell were you thinking?"

"Wasn't it obvious!?" Trixie shouted, her frustration taking over.

"Well, taking it from face-value, yes. But I can't read minds."

"You don't need to know!" She slammed her hooves, strangely, she felt her hooves colliding with a surface, but all she saw was the black abyss around her. Sound echoed from her hooves. The voice sighed and decided to shift topic.

"Okay then. I won't press it. Though I want to know, do you want to be better?" The voice digressed. Trixie looked up, as though able to see.

"Better?" She said. "Better, as in, better than Twilight?"

"I guess so. Or." The voice paused. "Better than everypony?" A hazy image of the Alicorn Amulet popped up in Trixie's view. It wavered in the air. Trixie took a step back and shook her head. "No. No! I'm not going to do that again!"

"I didn't say anything..." The voice lowered in tone, sounding sad.

"Well! Than what are you trying to tell me?"

"Barf! Never mind. Here, do this. Sit down, and close your eyes. Pretend that you are sleeping. Actually, try to sleep."

Her eyes shot open, greeted by the surrounding of her trailer. Her entire body was covered in sweat. Inspecting herself, it appeared that she rolled off the bed.

And why does she feel something else watery on her forehead? She touched her forehead with a hoof and brought it into view. Hey eyes met with crimson red.

Oh look, I even injured myself while sleeping.
