It was a bright and sunny day at the Canterlot Castle; however a familiar, distressed Princess Celestia was roaming around her throne room. Something was indeed wrong, and the Princess was chomping at the bit awaiting her prized pupil. This was no mere picnic she invited her to, Equestria's life was hanging in the balance.

"Princess Celestia!!" Shouted her faithful student: Twilight Sparkle as she galloped in. "We came as soon as we read your letter." Following her were her friends, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack. "What's going on?"

"Thank you my little ponies." Replied Princess Celestia, "This is of upmost importance."

"What is it Your Highness?" Questioned Rainbow Dash.

"I have heard reports of some strange disappearances in Ponyville. I've had some of my guards question some of the locals and they all say that their friends had treaded near The Everfree Forest before they were snatched by the creature that dwelled there. It is also more ominous that a majority of the disappearances are little fillies. I want you and your friends to search the forest and banish whatever mysterious phenomenon lurks there."

` Fluttershy was already trembling behind Rainbow Dash at the mere mention of The Everfree Forest. Rainbow Dash nuzzled Fluttershy closely to comfort her. Pinkie Pie and Rarity had looks of concern on there faces while the remaining two ponies and Rainbow Dash stood bravely for the Princess.

"Princess Celestia, you can count on us." Beamed Twilight Sparkle. "Together, we're unstoppable."

"I reckon this'll be a might dangerous fer us," Stated Applejack, "but I do 'ppretiate a good challenge."

"Yea lemme at that beast and I'll show 'im what for!" Declared Rainbow Dash.

"YOUR HIGHNESS!"

At that moment one of the guards flew in and whispered something into the princess's ear. The princess responded with a shocked expression and a slight pale look on her face.

"Oh my... it seems this monster abducted another. My guard here said he actually caught a glimpse of this monstrocity before it escaped into The Everfree Forest, and it seems to have the figure of a really tall pony in a suit. Hurry my little ponies, we have no time to lose!"

Without another word the ponies bolted their way to the door (with the exception of Pinkie Pie whom bounced to the door, and Fluttershy who was holding onto Rainbow Dash tightly, refusing to let go upon hearing their mission to search for a filly abducting pony).

Once all the ponies were on the train, Rainbow Dash interrupted the panting and wheezing with a curious question.

"Why in the hay does Princess Celestia never help us when there's a threat outside her castle?"

"I dunno, maybe she just has pressing matters to attend to." Stated Twilight Sparkle. Rainbow Dash had raised a valid point though and the six friends kept that thought in mind during the trip back to Ponyville and to The Everfree Forest.

The six friends had finally made their way to The Everfree Forest, where Fluttershy still refused to let go of Rainbow Dash, The six friends got shivers of anticipation and nervousness upon catching a glimpse of The Everfree Forest now knowing of the creature that dwelled there.

"Alright come on girls, we've been in this forest many times before, so it shouldn't scare us too much that there's a strange pony... er whatever it is waiting in this forest. We'll be able to take it down if we just stick together." Twilight Sparkle stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

The destined friends took not but two steps before Pinkie Pie had the biggest Pinkie Sense doozy that she had ever had before. The friends could only stare at Pinkie with wide eyes and a sense of doom and dread.

"Oh sweet, merciful Celestia..." Applejack managed to squeak, "that cayn't be a good sign."

"Come on girls, this may look grim, but I know we can do this if we just stick together." Stated Twilight Sparkle shuddering as she spoke.

The friends set aside their fears as much as they could, and set off into the forest.

Thum thump. Thum thump. Thum thump.

The six friends could only hear the sound of their own hoofsteps, the sound of the wind blowing with the leaves rustling, and the sound of their own beating hearts. The warmth of the light emanating from Rarity's and Twilight Sparkle's horns only slightly comforted the rest of their friends. Rainbow Dash couldn't help but break the silence after wandering the forest from what seemed like forever to her, but in reality was only about fifteen minutes.

"Ugh, I wish this monster would just show up already so I could just kick his sorry flank already! SHOW YOURSELF YOU COWARD!!"

"P...P...P...Please don't yell so loud Rainbow Dash, you'll upset the pony in the suit." Squeaked Fluttershy.

"How do you know if he's actually a pony!? Maybe he's some some new race of tall monster ponies or something, and if this monster really just makes a living just by abducting little fillies, THEN IT DOESN'T DESERVE TO LIVE!!!" Replied Rainbow Dash.

"M...M...Maybe it just wants to m...m...make some f...f...f...friends?"

"Come on Fluttershy, that is such bullsh..."

Just then a nearby bush rustled moderately loud, and enough to make the ponies jump slightly.

"WHAZZAT, Whozzere!? GiiiiIIIRLS! What was that!?" Fluttershy said in a panic.

"Um, mah, maybe it was um... j..j..just a squirrel?" Replied Twilight Sparkle nervous as well.

"COME ON YOU BIG MEANIE GHOSTIE! I GOT A PARTY CANNON, AND I. AM. NOT. AFRAID. TO USE IT!!!" Pinkie boasted loudly.

"WHOA! I just saw im'!" Applejack claimed, "in that're direction!"

"Maybe you're just imagining things darling." Rarity stated strangely calm. "After all, this forest is quite dreadful and dark, not to mention quite damp and disgusting, bluugh." She was apparantly too obsessed with cleanliness that she was not too concerned with the situation.

"Ya know Rarity, sometimes you can be a big pain in the flank you stuck-up little bi..."

"eAgEr To DiE i SeE?..."

The mere sound of this creature's voice sent shivers up everypony's spines. The sound of the voice was a low tremor and sounded as if the creature's voice had been butchered open. A tall and slender figure appeared from the darkness, of which it had no facial features by the looks of it and was a pure white color. It wore a black suit with a red tie and an undershirt, the creature also seemed to not have a mane or a tail.

"Who, er, what are ya?" Applejack shakily asked.

"hMpH, sO tHiS iS wHaT tHe PrInCeSs DeCiDeS tO sEnD tO aTtEmPt ApPrEhEnD mE hMm? pAtHeTiC..." said the bright yet dark figure.

"Hey! Don't you underestimate us you monster!" Huffed Rainbow Dash.

"wHaT dO yOu EsPeCt tO dO yOu mIsErAbLe eXcUsE fOr a pEgAsUs?"

Rainbow Dash charged at the monster with a loud battle cry at near sonic rainboom speed. Just then the monster sprouted what seemed to be a black tentacle out of it's back. It dodged Rainbow Dash's charge with a simple sidestep and grabbed by her throat with it's tentacle, then lifted her up and smashed her down on the ground on her back. An occasional cough and hack could be heard from the struggling pegasus, tears streaming down her face.

"RAINBOW!!" Shouted the remainder of the group.

Rarity then took a leap forward. "Unhand her you BRUTE!!"

Rarity summoned a medium sized gem from the ground and hurled it at the beast with her magic. The slender figure hurled Rainbow Dash into a nearby tree head first and disappeared into the shadow before the gem could reach him. The slender figure then reappeared out of the shadow behind Rarity and, at lightning speed, grabbed the back of Rarity's head and smashed it into a nearby tree repeatedly. Applejack dashed at the beast and successfully bucked it in the face, causing the beast to let go of Rarity and stumble backwards slightly. Rarity landed with a thump in front of the tree face first. Applejack rushed to go help her friend until Rarity raised her right foreleg and stomped it hard on the ground. She forced herself to stand up and when she got up she stumbled slightly. Her hair was now fully down and slightly dirty, her left eye was now partially open and right eye closed. Her nostrils streamed blood slightly and Rarity was breathing heavily, not from exhaustion, but from anger boiling up in her being.

"You. Are. Dirt. You know that you incompetent brute?" Rarity's eyes shot open and her left eye then became enshrounded in darkness with a yellow catseye in the center. "It. Is. ON!"

A burst of energy and a slight violet aura could be seen emanating from the white unicorn. She rushed at the monster and let out a flurry of lightning fast foreleg blows.

"Rarity! Wait!" Applejack cried.

The slender figure blocked one of her high foreleg blows and countered with a foreleg punch to the gut causing Rarity to spurt some blood from her mouth. It then struck Rarity in the jaw with it's knee and sent her flying upwards. It then disappeared into the shadow and appeared above the flying Rarity and sent her like a rocket back down to Earth with a double foreleg strike to her head. The slender figure dropped to Rarity and picked her up by her neck with a tentacle and displayed the squirming unicorn to her friends.

"iS tHaT aLL yOu hAvE?"

"*cough cough*, TWILIGHT! *cough hack*, HE-" *crunch crack, RIIIIIIIP Splash*

"NOOOOO!!!!" Screamed Applejack.

"dIsGrAcEfUl."

The monster impaled Rarity directly through her heart with a large, sharp branch from a nearby tree, heart still beating and blood splattering everywhere. Rarity could only stare at her chest, she bled profusely from her chest and only slightly struggled to get free from the creature's grasp. Her friends were too frozen with fear to raise a hoof to help their dying friend. The creature then decided to force the sharpened branch through Rarity's body, attempting to carve something into her.

"Twi- wi- i- li- ght- help m- ee- e-" Rarity mustered to say as the monster ripped through her flesh with some difficulty.

"TWILIGHT DO SOMETHING!!" Screamed Pinkie in a panic.

Twilight snapped out of the shocked trance she was in and mustered the strength to summon a fireball from her horn and hurl it at the beast, landing in the beast's face, burning it's "flesh". The slender creature then stumbled backwards and screamed as it's "face" melted. Applejack rushed at the foul creature, blinded by tears and gave a hard foreleg punch to it's gut sending it flying towards a tree. It broke through a tree and slammed into the tree behind it.

Twilight and her friends rushed to their dying friend through tears and sobs. Twilight could only watch in horror as one her best friends was twitching and bleeding uncontrollably to death. The monster had carved an "S" into Rarity's body.

"Rarity... oh Celestia no..." Twilight knew how to heal wounds, but with Rarity's heart impaled and her body carved there was little Twilight could do at this point.

"Twilight...... am.... am I... going to die?" Rarity struggled to speak at this point. "I... I didn't even get... *cough* to show that I could be a real sister for Sweetie Belle truly. The poor darling, I'm so sorry darling, I wanted to take you on... a picnic... really..."

"Rarity hold on maybe I can..." Twilight began to sew Rarity back up after stuffing Rarity's heart back into her body and sewing the heart closed, but it was too late, she had sewn Rarity's body halfway until she could no longer feel her beating heart and could sense no life in Rarity.

"No... NO... no no no no NO NO NO!! I'm gonna kill you! YOU FIEND! WHAT IN TARTARUS'S NAME ARE YOU!?!?"

The slender figure slowly turned his head slowly towards the remaining five friends and exhaled.

"i aSsUmE sHe wAs iMpOrTaNt tO yOu hm? wELL yOu mAy cALL mE bY wHaT tHe lOcAlS cALL mE wHeN tHeY bEaR wItNeSs to my eXiStEnCe. yOu mAy cALL me, sLeNdErMaNe..."
