Chapter Three

As soon as the bell rang, nothing changed. Maybe it really was just an old mare’s tale. But I was instantly proven wrong as the sky started to turn dark. Then, a voice that sounded like a colt who had a deep voice, too deep started to speak. “It is time, Equestria. Time that I returned from my wandering. Your world is mine, and nothing can stop me from taking it. Prepare for a new world. For a better world.” The unknown speaker stopped for a moment. Then the ground started rumbling. It sounded like marching, a lot of marching. A figure seemed to form from the ground, made out of pure shadow. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t the Element of Magic. I must say, you are quite a smart opponent, Twilight Sparkle. That is why I must kill you first.” She started backing into the wall with us, “You children will be lambs to the slaughter as well, I must say, it has always been a personal hobby of mine extinguishing lives that haven’t even fully started.” The figure said as it walked closer and closer. Twilight tried using a spell to make a force field, but the figure shattered it instantly. “Your magic may be powerful Twilight, but you are no match. Goodbye.” It seemed to form a horn that started glowing, and aimed towards us. Just as it fired a jet of pure darkness at us, I found myself falling. Then, I hit the floor on my rear hooves, and fell over.

“Thank goodness I was able to get you out of there Twilight.” A voice said. As we got up, I saw Princess Celestia, along with Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy, who appeared to have been teleported as well. “I thought he had been eternally sealed from our world, but I was wrong.” Celestia said as she looked at us worriedly.

“Who was that?” Twilight asked, fear clear in her voice.

“I will explain it to you, but you must not interrupt me, because we don’t have much time.” We all nodded. Celestia didn’t seem to care Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and I were there. “Many years ago, there existed nothing. No time, no space, no reality, it was both real and unreal. Then, something appeared. A being, by the name of Naqril. She saw the unreality of all, and created the world we know today. But it was just a rock, so she created water and the sun and the moon and the stars in order to diversify reality. But that still wasn’t enough, she wanted to allow a cycle of the sun and moon, so she created time. But it was lonely, so she created a brother, by the name of Rabil, who served as her helper, and as her friend. They created life on the world, but soon enough, Rabil realized that only his sister was looked up to, and she truly had control of all. So, out of greed and hatred, Rabil murdered his sister. But, unbeknownst to him, she had long suspected his betrayal, and created two gods who controlled all of space and all of time. As soon as she died, they sealed Rabil away forever, outside of reality, outside of time. Rabil apparently has returned, and he is too powerful. The two gods gave themselves to space and time, to allow it to eternally flow. Which makes him unstoppable, and there are no known prophecies of anyone who can defeat him.” Celestia explained. I decided that possibly they could be of help to me and this prophecy and I tried to speak up, but Applejack cut me off. Words cannot describe how angry I was.

“So how do we beat him? Elements of Harmony?” Applejack asked.

Celestia shook her head, “They are mere pebbles at a mountain.”

I shouted above this, “I have a -”

Applejack glared at me and told me off, “Apple Bloom, this is a grown-up discussion.” I really was mad when she said that. As I tried to tell everypony, a laugh emanated from everywhere. It was the laugh from the dark figure, Rabil.

“Well, thank you Celestia for explaining who I am.” He said. “But I am afraid you will no longer need to be ruling this world. Nor your sister, Luna.” He formed on a balcony along with multiple colt-like figures in heavy armor. I saw Princess Luna being forced down the stairs by the armored colts.

“You won’t be able to do anything, the guard will stop you!” Scootaloo shouted at him. He saw her and laughed, clearly amused.

“Oh they are the guard, except they are now mine. Take them to the courtyard.” The colts forced us out into there, while Celestia and Luna were moved somewhere else. Out in the courtyard was a lot of ponies, wondering what was happening. I knew that they knew what was happening they shouldn’t witness, that they should run, but its that kind of evil that you can’t turn away from, the one that’s too eye catching. “People of Equestria, today I usher in a new era. A better era.” Rabil said, once again emanating from the walls. “Equestria is no longer alive, today it dies. How could you trust your leaders, ones who let beings such as Nightmare Moon and Discord reign freely, relying on six ponies.” Celestia and Luna were being forced onto a platform. “Today, we rid ourselves of the memory of Equestria, and we usher in a new era. Today, we usher in the kingdom of Rhul. Today, we kill the former leaders of Equestria!” All of the guards shouted in agreement, while everypony else stood in sheer horror. Two blades were being put above Celestia’s and Luna’s head. “Today, your Princesses, Celestia and Luna, die.” As soon as he said that, the blades went clean through both of their necks, instantly decapitating them. “Now, we kill the hollow heroes you relied on, your ‘Elements of Harmony’!” The guards moved towards us, but before they could lay a hoof on us, a single male voice protested.

“Not today.” The lone colt said.

Rabil looked amused, and asked, “And who do you think you are?”

The colt walked to the front of the crowd, and said, “Shining Armor, Captain of the Royal Guard, and I say you won’t lay a hoof on them. Guards, get everypony out of here!” Like that, several guards appeared out of nowhere and took on the armored colts.

The guards focused on the armored colts who were near us, one of the guards shouted, “GO! RUN!” I was all too willing to comply. Rabil seemed totally amused, and did nothing to turn the tide of the fight in either direction.

“Shining Armor!” Twilight said.

“Go, Twilly, run. We can’t hold these guys off forever.” She seemed to protest, but he glared. We ran, ran through the city streets, faster than any of us had ever run. Twilight passed out, and Rainbow Dash grabbed her.

“They’re blocking off the road out!” A pony shouted. I thought of something, it would be risky, but it would be better than staying here to die.

“Everypony follow me!” I shouted.

“Apple Bloom, now is not the time to -” Applejack scolded.

“No, right now we need to get out, and I know a way, if you want to die, it’s your choice.” I said as I started running, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle behind me.

“What are you doing?” Scootaloo asked.

“The waterfall, we can ride it down.” They seemed to appreciate the idea and grinned. We got in sight of it and ran fast. I hit the water, and everything went black.
