The Lonely Seerby Mobius of the Moon
Chapters
Prolouge: Defeat
Pain. That was all I felt. A horrible pain that ripped into me like a cold knife through ice, slow and painful. I stared up at the odd pony called "Nightmare Moon" in slight horror. I could here the screams of my friends as I struggled underneath her. She laugh manically, and raised her fore hooves. I waited for the blow to come...
Wait a minute... who are you all? When... did you get here? I guess you must be wondering how I ended up about to be crushed under the hooves of a pony like Nightmare Moon. It all started just a few months ago...

I stood there, nerve-wracked and worrying. My father put a comforting arm around my shoulders. I looked at him. "You'll do fine." he soothed. I stared back to the audience room, where everyone was gathered to see the new 16 year old recruits. He even saw the other group there. The Lunars. They chatted amicably with the Solls as if they were childhood friends. Some of them were.
I turned up to the thrones. There was Master Red Sun, with Lady Aristenis next to him. Their millennium old Traveling Seer, Karen, stood between them. To the left of them were Master Blue Moon, Mistress Artemis, and their long-lived Traveling Seer, Mobius. He was a legend to everyone. The oldest Traveling Seer to ever live, he was around when the Lunars first proposed to actually make their Traveling Seers immortal. The Solls had agreed only after their Traveling Seer at the time, Gajeel, died. That was when Karen was inaugurated and made immortal. But Mobius was ancient compared to her. He was five millennium old when Karen became a Traveling Seer. He had been to more worlds than any other Seers, and had obtained or learned almost every fighting style, magic, and aspect of dimensions and time. His knowledge could outbound the smartest scholars put together. He was revered by every Clan except the Darks, who hated him because of his rivalry with their Traveling Seer, Hunter.
Unlike the Gods, Goddesses, and other Seers, Mobius and Karen remained eerily silent, emotionless looks on their faces.
Suddenly I heard my name called, "Go get 'em, Tiger!" My father said, giving me a light shove. I stepped slowly forward and looked up at them. My "fancy wear," which was a cape with metal shoulder pads, began to shake with my body. I resisted my nervousness with great effort, and the shaking stopped.
Master Red Sun was the first to speak, "So then, Raphael, you come to seek the glory of joining the ranks of Seers?"
I nodded slowly, gulped, and said softly, "Yes, sir."
Master Blue Moon spoke next, "This path is perilous, and you will face many dangers. Are you sure you want to take on this duty?"
I looked to Mobius, who was staring at me intently. His eyes flashed with the rune of Truth Seers. I felt him probe my mind, and then he turned Mistress Artemis. I wished I knew what he was saying. After he was done, he turned back to me, and ever so discreetly nodded.
Sighing with relief, I went to one knee and began to say the ritual words, "I will give my life for my family, my friends, and my loves. I will protect those in need, and perform my duties as required, with honor."
Master Red Sun spoke next, "Very well. Now, use your Sight and become one of the ranks."
I felt a build-up of power inside me. I felt a living power move within the depths of my soul, and I felt that it was time. After who knows how long, I opened my eyes, and everyone gasped. Turning around, I said, "What? Did... did I do something wrong?"
Mobius looked saddened all of a sudden. He stepped down and lifted an intricate mirror to my face, and I stared in horror at myself. I had the silver eyes. Silver Eyes. Of a non-Seer. Dropping the mirror, I looked in desperation at the Gods, but they shook their heads. In slow motion I watched the mirror fall the rest of the way down, then shatter against the ground.
I looked back up to Master Red Sun. He didn't look happy, mad, or sad, or disappointed. He just stared at me with his multicolor orange and red and yellow eyes. Then he Grunted, "Very well. Let him leave."
The meeting broke up then and there. I struggled and fought through the crowd and finally made it back to my father. Instead of smiling encouragingly, he glared hard at me. Turning, he walked out of the room and I followed. I followed him all the way home, where the door was shut in my face. Listening through the door, I heard him retell what had happened to my mother and brother. I then stepped inside, and got disgusted glares from all of them. To put it shortly, it happened like this:
My mother shrieked, calling me useless and a burden. My brother threw insults at me and smacked me around a little bit. My father said nothing, not stopping them from their verbal and physical assault. I stared pleadingly at him and he said, "You cannot take care of yourself? Then you are not my son."
Then and there I was thrown out, without anything but what I had with me. I cried on the porch for what seemed like forever until my dad opened the door, kicked me, and told me to GET THE F*** OUT!
I ran through the city streets, my bruises attracting unwanted attention. I heard others whispering, It's him. he one who failed. Yeah, that's right. I failed. So what? It didn't matter. I ran and ran, not caring where I was until I bumped into someone. Looking up, I saw none other than Mobius. He turned and stared down at me, his silhouette framed by the dying sun. His pale blue eyes raked over me like blue fire through his light-and-dark blond hair. I averted my eyes to the ground in reverence. I also didn't want him to look through my head again.
Then he spoke. "So... they really kicked you out?"
I jerked my head up in shock. He gave me a small smile. "Come with me." He walked into the forest. I hesitantly followed. We walked through the woods until we came to a clearing. In this clearing there was a courtyard of stone. At the center of that courtyard there was a crystal. This crystal Glowed with a faint green light. I recognized it as a Dimensional Tie crystal. It tied this area to the dimensional rift, allowing this area access to other worlds if the need rose. Mobius walked up to it, then turned and motioned for me to come closer.
I did so, and he said to me, "You don't have a place anymore. I can give you a new life."
Again I stared in shock at him, what was he saying?
He chuckled softly, "I can send you to a new world, and there you can truly live your life."
I stumbled over my next words. "B-but... Why?"
He smiled again, "You can't live here. You know that. Your whole life you will be ridiculed because of these." He pointed to his eyes. "This is a one-time offer. I'm not kidding, and you know it."
I thought about what he had said. It was true, I would be ridiculed for life. But then I thought of my family. What if they suddenly had a change of heart? But then I thought with hatred, No, they would never except me back.
Mobius noticed this and said, "Don't let that hatred get out of hand. You'll hurt those you don't mean to." At that he looked sad, but quickly regained his composure.
I looked at Mobius, to the crystal, and then back in the direction of the city. The I looked back to Mobius, who was staring gravely at the forest for some reason. Then he looked at me. "Well?" He suddenly sounded impatient.
I stood tall and said, "I will go to wherever you send me, and go with honor."
Mobius chuckled. "Good." He then turned to the crystal in front of us. "May you send this boy to a place where he can be happy, and have those he can call family."
The crystal glowed, then a thin beam of light shot up about six feet. The line then spread about three feet wide.
Mobius turned to me with a grin. he held out three objects. "Here."
I looked at them. A jacket with pockets to hold something. Goggles, probably to hide my eyes. And then I saw the weapon. It was a Solar Gun. From the world of Boktai(if you don't know what that is, go look up "the solar gun from Boktai". Make sure you see all the components.). I stared at him in shock.
He laughed and said, "Go on, take it." I gingerly took all three. I put the glasses on, then the jacket. I felt some things poking through it a little bit. Mobius pointed to individual pockets and said, "Spare batteries. You know, for the gun. I couldn't get you an astral battery, though." Of course. There was only one in existence. Well, one and the others that have been given to the Traveling Seers. "Here is where the grenades are stored. Do you know the different types?" I shook my head. "Well, first there's this." He pulled out a green and black thing that looked slightly like a light bulb. It had an eye pattern on the large end. "This is the Scan Grenades. They check for enemies and treasure." He replaced it, then pulled out a gray cylinder. "This is the Explosion Grenades, the one that actually does damage." He replaced that and pulled out something like the Explosion Grenade holder, but this had yellow in it. "This is the Flash Grenades." He put it back in.
He then pointed to the gun in my hand. "Because that's yours, you can now call it at will and send it away whenever you want. But..." He pointed to the lens. A level Three Solar lens. "That is the element. And this-" He pointed to another pocket, "-is where the other elemental lenses are stored. But those are all level ones." He then pointed to the barrel, a gray and sort of cylindrical object. "That is a lancer lens. It shoots a straight thin beam of light as long as you're pulling the trigger. It can be used as a sword. There is another attachment that shoots actually shots and spreads, too." A different barrel appeared this time. It was blue, and looked like the normal barrel. Mobius gave me a questioning look, wanting to know that I understood. I nodded.
Then he pointed to the portal. "Now, then. Good luck."
I looked once at him, then began to walk forward. As I reached the portal, I thought I heard him say something like, "I'll see you soon." But I didn't hear clearly.
A tingling sensation surrounded me, as did a green light.
And then I blacked out.

Author's Note: Well, this is a little odd. I just wanted to type something new, because I have writer's block at the moment. Blech. But this idea got stuck in my head a while back, so I thought, What the hell, I'll just roll with it. I hope you enjoy what this will become.
Chapter One: Arrival
Author's Note: This has been an idea stuck in my head for a long time, so I'm putting it up now. It's really rushed because I just want to get it out of my head, so don't be flaming about it.
"At the innermost core of all loneliness is a deep and powerful yearning for union with one's lost self."
-Brendan Francis
I opened my eyes. I was in a forest. The place I was in was eerily quiet, and the sky... wait, where was the sky? The sky was blocked out by a thick canopy of leaves. Oh great, where was I supposed to go now? How would I find my way out? I stood and took a good look at my surroundings... wait. I was seeing things. I took off my glasses and rubbed my eyes, and reopened them to darkness. Sighing, I put the glasses back on. Suddenly I could see again!
At least I would be able to find my way out now. I ran around, trying to get a sense of where I was supposed to go in the first place. When I began to see the trees thinning, after Gods know how long, I pounded harder and suddenly burst from the tree cover. I looked around, hoping to get a better look at where I was now. But when I took the glasses off, I could still barely see.
Looking up, the sky was dark. Thinking it must be night, I put the glasses back on. When I looked again, I saw that it was gloomy even with the glasses(actually, they were more like goggles) on. But I did notice something. The goggles showed me trails of a dark blue smoke everywhere. When I looked up, I saw that the smoke had been woven thickly over the sky.
Someone had made it this dark. And usually a creature of darkness had something to so with things like this. I felt an anger burning in me, which was surprising. I couldn't exactly fight, and I had failed my Seer exam. That's why I was here in the first place. But then I remembered the Solar Gun with me. It appeared in front of me, and I reached for it with... a hoof?
...Screaming obscenities that would offend the Gods and Goddesses, I ran in circles, thinking to myself, Oh shit, oh shit. What happened to me? This... this can't be real... Hey, that's it! This isn't real! It's a dream. That's right, just a dream. Just a dream. I began to repeat it out loud, "Just a dream... just a dream... just a..."
But no amount of smacking, pinching, ramming into trees, and banging my head into a rock woke me up. I finally excepted that this wasn't a dream. Wanting to get a better look at myself, I looked for some water, or something reflective. Not finding any, I turned back to the smoke trails. I guessed that I should follow them, to see where they led. But then a thought struck me. What about the gun? I couldn't hold it with hooves... could I?
I tried, and failed. Then tried again. Then failed again. I tried yet again...
...And failed yet again.
About to give up, I suddenly noticed a small glow coming from the lens. When I walked closer, it got brighter. Then my vision through my goggles became clearer. As if by instinct, I willed the gun to lift into the air. It did, and righted itself in front of my eyes. Suddenly I saw everything as if through a scope, but better. I could zoom up to something, or lock on to an object, and the barrel would follow it.
I marveled at this and decided to test it out. I turned to a nearby tree and aimed exactly for it, and willed the gun to shoot. It did, without the slightest bang (but it did make a swishing noise) and a large burning hole was put into the tree. Grinning to myself, I aimed at the sky, just for fun. Making sure I had the right frame(which was actually what the barrel was called), I fired. I watched the golden yellow sphere fly up and up...
Then disappear into the dark smoke. I withered, for I had hoped to clear some of the sky with that shot. I guessed that I would have to find the source. Turning back to the smoke, I could acutely see the trails better with the scope and my goggles. Grinning in triumph, I began to go at a slight jog, making sure I wasn't following any dead ends. Soon I heard the sounds of shouting. And fighting. I grit my teeth and burst over a hill to see a town. This town was burning and was in states of destruction in some places. And the people... no, those weren't people. They were... ponies?
I ran this through my head many times. There was a land, recently... well, within the past three years, that was visited by Mobius.. and Hunter. It was.. Equestria!
I had heard about this place in my studies, and that it was here that Mobius finally regained his solid peace of mind, heart, and soul. It was also true that he had dropped all other home worlds in favor of this one. But then why was it so... dark? Suddenly my gaze was drawn to a point outside the ruined town. There was a dark blob shaped like a pony, but it radiated pure, dark evil.
I began to run down the hill, then I realized. If I was here, does that mean that I'm a pony? I shook the thought away, there would be time for that later.
Running (I guess galloping?) down the hill, I almost screamed. I felt this energy running through me, like I was actually wanting to fight this enemy.
I reached the bottom and immediately began charging in the direction of the pony-shaped blob. Then I heard the screams. "Nightmare Moon!" they said in terror-filled voices.
I stopped in my tracks. This was Nightmare Moon? But if the books were correct, Mobius arrived here after the Nightmare Moon incident. WHAT was going on here?
From my position I saw a pony struggling under the blob(or Nightmare Moon). Nightmare Moon(or the blob) raised her forehooves. The pony screamed in horror, confirming it as female. Then Nightmare Moon brought her hooves down, effectively crushing the mare and sending bits of her flying in all directions.
I stared in horror at what I had just witnessed. What was actually going on? I then slowly began to move, feeling as if I were moving through cement. I saw yet another pony try to run, only to suddenly be torn apart by the tendrils of smoke. That was when my legs regained their senses. I turned and pounded up the street, dashing into a destroyed house that was called "SugarCube Corner." Huh, interesting name.
I sat there, panting, and then I heard a voice, "Hello?"
I turned to a pink pony. Her hair was poofed out in odd places. Was she... Pinkie Pie?
I gave a weak smile, "Hello."
She nodded, her eyes serious. Then five other ponies came from behind her. I recognized them from my studies. Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle. These were the ponies that had befriended Mobius and brought him out of his cold and lonely heart.
They all looked beat up and tired. Fluttershy's wing was wounded, and all of them were covered in the dried blood of other ponies. They all stared at me with shocked eyes, and I realized that my gun was still out, floating and glowing with a soft light. I said, a little sheepishly, "Heh, sorry." I put it away.
Then I was bombarded by questions from Rainbow Dash. Things basically like who are you, what are you, blah blah. I just replied as truthfully as I could. Twilight nodded in understanding.
"So... you're saying that you can fight Nightmare Moon?" she asked.
I nodded, "Eeyup."
They all looked at me oddly, and Applejack actually looked pained. "What?"
They all shook their heads in answer. "It's... nothing." Rarity answered.
I looked back outside as another scream tore through the air. "So, we got any idea what we're doing?"
Twilight looked at me, a little confused, "What do you mean?" she asked.
I looked at all of them and rolled my eyes, "Seriously, I hate to be a downer but it's pretty obvious," I began, "Nightmare Moon isn't just going to sit out there all day every day. I know you've all been trying to save ponies' lives, but what about when Nightmare comes into the buildings? You are all royally screwed."
Their eyes widened as the truth hit them. They began to turn when I shouted, "No, no, NO! That's not what we do!" I was frantically thinking up something in my head. I always was a quick thinker.
Then the idea came to me, "You all are the Elements of Harmony right?"
They stared in shock and nodded.
I grinned. "Very well. I have a plan..."
#&#&#&$%$%$%
I turned into the street, only to see a pony get torn to pieces. My stomach turned, but I willed my last meal to stay down. If all went well, I could actually find out what had happened. I turned towards the blob and raised my voice with my gun. "Halt in the name of the Sun!"
Nightmare Moon turned and hissed... wait, hissed? Something really wrong was going on here. I aimed the Solar Gun and fired, the orb arcing then smashing into the ground about a meter away from the beastly pony. She hissed again and sent smoke tendrils my way.
Quickly, I changed frames and then when I fired next, a thin beam of solar light popped out. I used it to slash at the tendrils, causing them to back up. But they regrouped and then attacked as one. I destroyed them all in one slash. Turning around, I called, "Now!"
A flash of light, and the six ponies of the Elements lifted into the air. Almost immediately a rainbow shot from their group and encircled Nightmare Moon. She screamed and hissed in rage, but when the rainbow disappeared, she was still there. This was what I was hoping for.
Charging, I sent a beam of light through the smoke that tried to apprehend me. Then I reached the Queen of Night. She was heaving, but alive. With one thrust that seemed all too easy, Nightmare exploded into black smoke.
I looked up and the sky had cleared. Ponies slowly came out into the streets, and the mane six kept on exclaiming their amazement at what I had done. I stood there, shell-shocked and a little scared, as a voice whispered in my ear. "Soon, young one. Soon... This place will be gone... because of you."
Immediately I fainted, I had always been like that. My last thought as Applejack ran up was this. Me... a Destroyer? No...
