Chapter 1
Arrival

It was around 3, and the sun was already setting. Damn, days end so early this time of year. I thought to myself.

As I walked down the street, I looked up at the sky, the clouds were giving off wonderful colors. A very deep purple, a brighter purple, and a vibrant pink.

"Huh, reminds me of Twilight" I said to myself. It had the same colors as her mane. I got excited as I realized it was Friday and there would be a new episode tomorrow. I've been into the show for a couple of months now. Nobody was around, as I was in a smaller neighborhood. It was calm, peaceful, I enjoyed listening to the sounds of the city in the distance.

I'm 23. Just got out of college, and live in a simple house in Boston. I had just been through a bad relationship, and wanted to be alone for a while. Most of my friends were away on vacation, and my parents lived some 400 miles away. Not to mention I had developed a pretty bad head-ache earlier that day, which was only getting worse. I thought maybe a walk with myself would help relieve me of it.

I continued on, watching the sunset as it got darker and darker. The colors in the clouds getting brighter. I marveled even more. It was by far the most amazing sunset I had seen in a long time.

My head-ache continued to get worse, and at a seemingly faster rate.

I need to get home and take some aspirin or something, this is getting awful. I picked up the pace, but then I started to get dizzy. I held my hand to my head, as I let out small grunts and whines of pain. It became hard to see as I started squinting my eyes.

The sun was almost set, and all of a sudden it really jumped on me.

I fell to my knees, my hands clamped against the sides of my head. I almost started yelling in pain. It was incredible at that point. My mind started racing on what may be going on. I could see the sun just setting over the horizon of the ocean through my watery and squinting eyes.

Then, something very, very different happened. Bright flashes of deep blue but very bright light appeared all around me. I could feel something, something that seemed to combine with the head-ache into something new.

This new feeling, it was the strangest thing I had ever felt.

It was now pulsing, in rythm with the flashing light. It sped up, getting faster and faster, and brighter and brighter, as the sun got closer and closer to dissapearing.

With just a sliver left, it was like a deep blue strobe, flashing at my body and mind.

What is happening? The first sensible thought I had in the past 15 or so seconds.

The sun was finally gone, and there was one final flash, much brighter than any of the others. I suddenly felt like I had just sprinted a mile as fast as possible. I couldn't see for several seconds, and I felt like I was going to puke. About to pass out, I started to get small slips of my vision back. Just before falling on my back, I noticed I was not in the same place. I was not on some street in Boston anymore.

All I could see were books.

What...the...hell? Was my final thought before hitting my head against the floor and slipping away.

I started to come back, I could hear a girl above me.

"Hey, wake up! Come on, please wake up!"

I couldn't move. I could barely open my eyes I felt so weak. It was hard to hear, but something about her voice seemed familiar. I opened my eyes and looked up at whoever was above me.

What I saw was the last thing I expected.

Someone, something, I never thought I would ever see was glaring down at me.

"Twilight...Sparkle?..." I muttered under my breath. I couldn't think. My mind started jumping all over the place trying to comprehend who and what was looking at me. I got excited, I could suddenly feel my heartbeat as clearly as someone punching me in the chest. That excitement was enough to use up my energy, and I fell back under.

Twilight gained a look of shock and let out a small gasp. "Wait! Come on, stay awake!" The purple pony shook me, but it was no use, I was already out.

She looked up and sighed. She thought about what was going on.
Who is this? What is it? Where did it come from? All of these questions shot through her mind. However there was one that stood out far beyond the rest.

How did it know my name?...
