Ponies everywhere read stories of adventure and lust, of tragic heroes and false loves abound.  But my story is more real than any pages of a book, more flowing then the ink upon parchment and more fulfilling than the greatest of journeys.  Why, you ask?  Because it was real.

Come over here, my little ponies, and listen to an old dragon’s story for a change.  You too, Thundercloud.  And you, Spritzer.  Everypony here?  Good, let’s begin.  Tonight I am going to tell you a tale of a group of six friends.  Yes, a simple story about six simple ponies that lived in this very town of Ponyville a long time ago, when it was home to only a few hundred ponies instead of the bustling crowds that we have here today.  Now, in this small group of the closest of friends, there were two ponies from every race, excepting our princess’s race of the alicorns, of course.
