Scootaloo sat at the end of the pier, her tail twitching like a cat's. Her friends glanced at each other as she stared at the waters below. "School's almost starting," Apple Bloom said.

"I'll be there in a minute," Scootaloo said. A trout had come to rest beneath her, hovering in almost-clear water. It flew through the lake without even trying, its tiny wings even stubbier than her own.

She smiled and dove into the water, her forelegs spread wide.
