Chapter XI:The Book of Dragons

(Littlefoot reading)

Dragon classifications:

Stoker class:

Terrible Terror: This cat-sized dragon is one of the smallest in all of the species. Its small size means that it can sneak into small crevasses, borrows and sometimes even into houses. Terrors are social creatures, meaning that they travel in packs of up to 10 or 20 individuals. These packs are also highly aggressive to other creatures even other Terror packs and will attack on site. If sneaking up to a victim the Terror will give out a low hissing sound, just like a snake. Once close enough the Terror will jump onto its prey and will attempt to attack the volnurable parts, meaning the throut, the eyes and genetils. And if it doesn't succeed at first then it will keep jumping back until it does, or will spit a plume of fire, mostly in unison. The Terror has a limit of 10 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Monstrous Nightmare: This large bodied dragon is among the most aggressive of the species. It is a direct decendent of the legendary and ancient Wyvern. It has a highly aggressive nature and do to its very fast metabolism it will challenge and battle against anything it encounters. A Nightmare when battling against an opponent it will fight until the opponent is dead, but when two Nightmares are fighting these sorts of battles could last for days, because their stubbornness is what keeps them going. Because it has more flexible scales for more faster and more manuverable flight means that their hides are much softer leaving them volnurable to attacks from other dragons. However their scales contain a flameble chemical that allows them to set their entire bodies on fire. The fire doesn't hurt themselves, but it will burn up anything that tries to even touch them. The Nightmare has a limit of 7 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Boulder class:

Gronckle: This powerful, yet fat dragon has the hardest hide of the species. Gronckles have large, fat bodies do to their solid, rock hard armor. They mainly consume rocks, which could explain the thickness of their hide. Gronckles have tiny wings which don't seem like they could possibly lift the animals massive bulk, but surprisingly they do. The wings flap very fast, like those of a homing bird and also like a homing bird a Gronckle can be more fast and agile while in the air. The Gronckle has five stages of maturity: 1)Egg, 2)Tiny tooth, 3)Short wing, 4)Broad wing, 5)Titan wing. The Titan wing stage, in which the Gronckle's wings grow ten times the size of their normal wing length, is a very rare site. This dragon, however, will fall asleep if it sniffs up some special grass meant for dragons, called dragon-nip. The Gronckle is among the few dragons that can spit liquid fire, and the Gronckle in particular can only spit 'lava bombs'. The Gronckle has a limit of 6 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Whispering Death: This odd looking creature is among the deadliest of dragons by far. It is also the only dragon that can borrow under ground, and strike from bellow. It is blind so, just like bats and whales, it hunts by sound. The Whispering Death is considered the deadliest by far, because unlike the Monstrous Nightmare which is only searching for a fight, this dragon hunts anything and everything because it only knows one thing: killing. Its entire body is very long and thin, but its head is very large and its mouth oval shaped. Its mouth contains dozens of sharp, cerated teeth, each lined in a circle one after the other. These 'ring of teeth' can, abnormally, rotate, and produce an unusual drilling sound. These teeth also seem to be made of steel steel, because the Whispering Death uses its teeth to dig beneath the earth. This dragon ha retracktable spikes along its face then only come out when it's out in the surface. It is also the only dragon that can breath rings of fire. The Whispering Death has a limit of 12 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Fear class:

Hideous Zippleback: This creature is the most confusing of dragons. Like every species in this class the Zippleback has more then one head. In its case it has two heads, which means twice the danger. This creature, like every species in this class, has a pair of necks that are as long as its body, making it very good at sneaking up to its prey, or into buildings. The facinating thing about the Zippleback is that one head breaths clouds of gas, while the other creates sparks that ignite it, causing a massive explosion. Another fasinating thing about this creature is that every species has a different ability order, meaning no Zippleback is like the last one. Sometimes the heads would even fight each other over food or opinions, which is very hilarious. The Zippleback has a limit of 5 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Snaptrapper: This dragon has the most heads of any other species ever. It is said to be a triple fusion, between a Zippleback, a Nightmare and a Venus Flytrap. The theory of it being part plant was proven by the fact that all four of its heads has three abnormal bulbs that generate a sent similar to that of chocolate. The Snaptrapper can bury its entire body under ground or hide it in dents foliage, depending on its hunting area. Only its four heads remain visible and they always stay with their triple jawed mouths opened. They could stay this way for days, sometimes even weeks or months. However when feeling threatened it reveals itself and all four of its heads start blowing plums of fire at the enemy. This dragon, however, can become playful and docile when in contact with mud and rain water, or any kind of water for that mater. The Snaptrapper has a limit of 8 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Sharp class:

Deadly Nadder: This second direct decendent of the Wyvern has the hottest fire in the dragon world. The heat of its flames are measured to be as hot as the Sun itself. A special chemical that can add the extra heat is located in two boldjes in its lower jaw, just like varanid lizard venom-glands. However, do to the size of its head and do to a massive horn located on the top of its nose, has created a massive blind-spot in the center of its eyesite. However if confronted by such a beast that blind-spot can be used to a pony's advantage: simply hide in it and stay quiet. Another feature that makes this animal a very dangerous dragon is the fact that it has dozens of poisonous spikes all over its tail. These spikes can also be launched at will if the Nadder sences a threat from behind. These spikes also contain a deadly neurotoxin equivalent to the venom of a King Cobra. The Deadly Nadder has a limit of 4 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Timberjack: This gigantic creature is one of the largest dragons ever. Its long, serpentine body only has a pair of massive wings and no back legs. The Timberjack doesn't use its fire breath so often, like other dragons, because its more frequently used weapon is its wings. This is the only dragon who's wings are built like a pair of gigantic ghiloteens. Ponies say that its wings are actual ghiloteen blades placed on its body by an accidental spell. But in reality the scales on the end of its wings actually point outwards and are kept sharp from cutting down entire forests and sometimes villages and cities. The Timberjack has a limit of 5 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Tidal class:

Scauldron: This massive water-dwelling dragon is the fastest swimmer in the class. The Scauldron uses its wings and massive, rudder-like tail to 'fly' in the water. This is the fastest dragon from this class because it can outswim the fastest ships. This creature can gather a ton of water in its massive, cauldron-like stomach and heats it up to lethal levels. When threatend the Scauldron gathers up a large amount of water in its sack-like lower jaw and then spits the boiling water onto its enemy, melting the flesh of the bones in the process, like acid. The Scauldron also has a second way of defence: deadly venom. This venom comes from a purple orchid, known as dragon-flower and the venom has a toxic equivalent of 20 scorpion stings. There is a way for a pony to defend itself against this beast: simply pour water on yourself and it will not attack, because it like anything that reminds it of home. The Scauldron has a limit of 3 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Thunderdrome: This unusual creature is the loudest of all dragons. Its body is almost totally flat and it only expands when the dragon feeds or roars. Like other aquatic dragons the Thunderdrome also uses its wings to swim in the water, but it uses its tail more, which is longer then its body. The Thunderdrome is also the only aquatic dragon that can fly out of the water and into the sky. This dragon can not spit fire, but instead uses its extremely loud roar a weapon. Its roar is so loud that can burst a pony's skull, and as some ponies say rattle the sky. The Thunderdromes most preferred habitats are secluded tide-pools in water caves. The Thunderdrome has a limit of 1 shot. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Mystery class:

Changewing: This abnormal reptile is one the trickiest to find dragons ever. This dragon is not only mysterious but also very difficult to find. This creature can not only rapidly change its colour but sometimes even change the shape of its body to mach perfectly with its surroundings, depending of course on the habitat where it's hiding. When it does reveal itself it either spits acid at its opponents or use its hypnotic ability to confuse its victim. Even baby Changewings can spit acid as soon as they hatch, making them extra dangerous. But despite its abilities and natural weapons the Changewing is actually a very curious creature, displaying many times mimicking behaviour. However it can get very aggressive when it wants to. The Changewing has a limit of 10 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Boneknapper: This creature is the most mysterious dragon ever. No one knows what it really looks like, all any pony knows is that the Boneknapper is a cousin of the Monstrous Nightmare. The reason nopony knows what it looks like is because its entire body is covered in a ckote of dragon bones from dead dragons or its prey. The Boneknapper has a feature not found on any creature ever documented, even dragons: it cannot roar if its armor isn't compliet. However when its armor is full it makes a roar o loud it can burst any creatures eardromes. This creature is so rare that there are some ponies that say it is just a legend, that it does not exist. The Boneknapper has a limit of 5 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Strike class:

Skrill: this is a highly secretive creature. The Skrill is only said to appear during electrical thunderstorms, riding on lighting bolts with extreme speed that would impress even the fastest Pegasus in Equestria. When provoked the Skrill doesn't breath fire like other dragons. It instead breaths a substance that is some kind of mixture of dragon fire and lighting that is so powerful it can whip out an entire village in just one breath. The Skrill has a limit of 20 shots. Extremely dangerous. Kills on site.

Nightfurry: Size unknown. Speed unknown. The unholy offspring of Lightning and Death itself. Never ingadge this dragon. Your only hope of survival: hide and pray to Celestia it does not find you.
