The future of Equestria is grim, the circumstances have turned a land of sunshine and happiness, into a dystopian nightmare ruled by a heartless tyrant and her army of gestapo like "thought police" known as "Civil Protection".

The ponies arrested by CP, the criminals, the political opponents and the general troublemakers, are all secretly deported overseas and sent to work as slaves, colonizing a massive continent with seemingly no end loosely known as: the Frontier.

The Frontier is home to a number of horrors and evils, and living in it is not easy, its dangers, and high fatality rate among the ponies sent there has given it a feared reputation back in the mainland.

We follow the story of two earth ponies, the Civil Protection Captain "Tombs" and the mare Manie Manie as they venture across the secured frontier on a mission that takes them beyond the borders of it, into the unknown.

But crossing the Frontier is not easy, there are many dangers to overcome on the way to their goal, dangers that don't always necessarily lurk in the wilderness.

But the world doesn't spin around our two survivors, back in mainland Equestria civil unrest and army politics risk the harsh peace Celestia ensured under her iron rule.
