Chapter 1: 1: Onward toward Ponyville

Blindsided
Chapter 1
It was dark and cold. I was beginning to regain conciseness. The next thing I knew I was thrown onto a hard stone floor. I heard the sound of steel bars shut. “Ugh. Where am I”? I mumbled to myself. After standing up and regaining my bearings, I began to realize were I was. I’m in the Canterlot Dungeon. The memory was slowly starting to come back to me. It turns out I’m a wanted criminal. Wanted for conspiring against that abomination Princess Celestia. Of course I’d be wanted. I’m only the leader of the Lunar Resistance in Ponyville. Why would I try and start the Lunar Resistance? I have my reasons, but that’s another story. I needed to escape this dammed prison, but how? I thought to myself “Since the guards here don’t seem to do a very good job at what they’re paid to do I may be able to sneak something that will benefit me under my wing”. Hell, it worked back in Ponyville’s dinky little jail so I assume the same trick will work here. I waited for the right moment when such an opportunity would be available. After a few days that moment had come. One of the prisoners tried to escape. He bucked one of the guards in the head and ran for it. he didn’t make it very far. Fortunately that guard had a key ring in his mouth at the time. So when the prisoner kicked him it flew out. Thank Luna that nopony saw the key-ring fly out. I quickly moved to the ring and swooped it up under my left wing. Now that I had a means to help me escape I could now begin to plan it out.

After a week of planning, I would soon be able to see my plan in fruition. I waited until Nightmare night for my escape. Mostly because a majority of the guards would be policing all the troublemakers on this night, but also because I’ll blend in easier with the whole prisoner outfit. The clock struck 8 and I knew it was time. I made sure no guards were patrolling near my cell. Once I made sure the coast was clear I unlocked my cell. Quietly I turned the key inside the door, *ting *cling. I’m hoping the noises weren’t loud enough for the guards to hear. I slowly crept around a corner. Making sure I wasn’t spotted. I was able to reach a balcony. I observed my surroundings and made an escape route. I sat there for a food 5 minutes planning when it struck my mind, “Wait. I’m a Pegasi, I could just fly out of here. I expanded my wings and flew off the balcony. I think I was spotted because the next thing I know, there’s guards trying to hit me with a no flight spell. If only I could go a few more yards, *Zap*. I was hit. I couldn’t move my wings anymore. I tried to glide down buy that didn’t work. I crashed down on the ground hard. Luckily I was outside the wall and was able to limp away before the guards could catch up to me. With that behind me I made my way to Ponyville.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My plan for the Nightmare night escape was a success. I passed by several guards unnoticed once in Ponyville. Turns out, prisoner jumpsuit was a common costume for people with no Nightmare night spirit. First thing I needed to do was to talk to my marefriend Lyric, to let her know I’m alright.
“Are you crazy” Yelled Lyric “You just escaped from the Canterlot dungeon and you come back to the town you were arrested in? Of all the stupid things you’ve done, this is probably the stupidest thing yet”. I replied back with “Look I know coming here was a stupid idea, but it’s not like I have anypony else or any other place to go to”. “I guess you’re right on that note. Look, I’ll let you stay for the night but then you got to go tomorrow morning” She said. “Thank you” I said in return. I went to the guest bed rom and lay in the bed. I slowly drifted off to sleep.
