"Hello? Who's there?" a groggy MonoChrome said, poking his head from his bedsheets. The knocking continued, a slow steady pace, It added to MonoChrome's growing headache. "I'm coming, I'm coming." he said, tossing the pillow at the door. He floated over to the door, wings stretching themselves after a long day's sleep. MonoChrome opened the door and started to say: "Hel-" before being tackled by a grey pegasus. "Derpy! What are you doing here in Canterlot?" he asked, getting up. "A better question is what are you doing here?" was her reply. "Long story." MonoChrome stated, and put on his clothes.

"So this is Canterlot, It is breathtaking." Derpy said, looking out of MonoChrome's window at the night-time scene below. "And look at the full moon." she finished. When she mentioned the moon MonoChrome stopped digging through the closet for his spare cloak. He thought of Luna and slammed his closet closed. "Something wrong?" she asked, turning around. "Huh, oh, no nothing is wrong, and here, put this on." MonoChrome said, tossing her the cloak that hung on his bed. "Looks like it was not in the closet." Derpy said, spinning in the mirror to check out how she looked. "C'mon we are not gonna be late if we want good seats at the table." MonoChrome said, heading out the door.

Their hoovesteps echoed as they walked down the grand halls, the steady rythmic beat of hoof on marble. "So why are you here?" Derpy asked, breaking the silence. "Like the note said, family business." MonoChrome replied, without glancing over. Derpy looked down, then at her clothing. "Why am I dressed like you?" she asked, gesturing to her clothing. "So the guards know you are my guest." he said, studying how the cloak fit on her. "Oh." she finished, then felt something in her pockets. "And there is a muffin in your pocket, why?" She asked holding up the blueberry muffin. "Eh, what can I say, I get hungry from time to time." he replied, pulling a muffin out of his own pocket, and proceeded to take a bite from it. "Is there one in all of your clothing?" she asked, yet another question. "No. Sometimes I carry up to four in my pockets." MonoChrome finished, opening the doors to the dining hall.

"Ah MonoChrome glad you could make it." Said a Smiling Celestia, pointing to two empty seats. At that gesture Derpy nearly fainted, thoughts bounced around in her head; Dinner with the princess! In the grand dining hall! Oh my gosh!.

About a minute later, MonoChrome and Derpy were already sharing stories with Celestia and her guest; Twilight Sparkle. Having moved to canterlot for two years on account of studies, she had not spoken with any of her friends except for Rarity, who occasionally visited. After a few minutes Twilight whispered something to Celestia, and a silent conversation started. "So who's he?" Twilight asked, gesturing to MonoChrome. "He is Luna's son, and it is a long story." The princess replied. Twilight looked puzzled, "He is of Royal Blood? Well, I've seen a dragon take several adult forms, so this shouldn't be startling, but a regular, yet good looking Pegasus is royal?" she asked. The princess nodded as the doors opened, in entering a well dressed Rainbow Dash. "Dash, it has been years we need to catch up!" Twilight said, running to her friend. "Yeah, uh Rarity told me you'd be here tonight so I came." The cyan pegasus said, following her friend to the table. while on the way MonoChrome and Dash's eyes locked, and a spark of an upcoming fight started.

Derpy somewhat recognized the new guest, but did not remember the rivalry. She was like that. After dinner went off without a hitch, MonoChrome and Derpy walked back down the hall to MonoChrome's room. Along the way the each picked up a glass of cider. "What is one thing NOT in Canterlot?" Derpy said, looking at the glass. "A lot of things, where do I start?" MonoChrome responded and took a sip of cider, and then got to the door of Suite 13, his room.
