Just a blur

MonoChrome woke up, and saw a rainbow colored mane. The light beaming through the window added another orange to the mane. The blanket was rising and falling in a steady manner. MonoChrome got up as steadily as he could. "Huh?" The raimbow-maned pegasus muttered, just waking up. MonoChrome had been in this situation before, many a time. He reacted how he usually did, walking to the bathroom. He looked into the mirror, his black and white mane a mess from the night before. He laughed, they were physical opposites. He was large, she was small. His coloring was bland, her's was bright. As he was laughing, he suddenly stopped, he had never thought after a night like he had. He pushed away the thoughts, and dismissed it as a normal night.

"Catch you later!" Rainbow Dash said, waving at him from across the hallway. "Yeah, later." MonoChrome said, in his Moody voice. Anypony who had been with him long enough would know he was not actually moody, It just fit his coloring. He shut his locker, already having everything he needed. As he flew down the halls of CloudsDale University, his mane and tail becoming a streak. His speed always got heads turning. But today, a certain head was turning, not at speed, but at Rainbow's gesture. She thought, in a sad remark; Oh no, what if they last? That would ruin my chances! She flew to the bathroom, straightening her blonde mane. "Ugh what about these?" she asked herself, directing her attention to her eyes. Even though she was crosseyed she could see fine. If she focused she could straighen them. "Lets see, all I have to do is just keep them straight until after advanced flight." she said to herself. Advanced flight was the second class she shared with MonoChrome, she always would try to talk to him but the other ponies got in her way. "Hey Derpy!" said a pony entering the bathroom. Even though Derpy was not her real name, she still responded to it. She ignored the newly entered pony, and left to advanced flight. She was in luck, the better looking ponies were at the spa, and Rainbow Dash was having an arguement with MonoChrome. Derpy caught the last of the arguement. "Well then you can go do whatever you want!" Rainbow yelled, no one else listening. MonoChrome put his hooves at shoulder level, about to say something, but Rainbow had already started to leave. "Bu-" MonoChrome started, and slouched a bit. "Here goes nothing." Derpy muttered, concentrating so her eyes wouldn't cross. MonoChrome sat down for a moment and looked down, when he brought his head up he saw a muffin. Derpy couldn't help but smile. MonoChrome looked for a second at the muffin, until the hoof holding it was closer to his face. He grabbed the muffin slowly, and took a bite. Blueberry flavor exploded in his mouth. Blueberry was his favorite flavor. He finished his muffin and looked at the blushing pegasus before him. "Thanks." he said, already cheering up. Usually he would have taken this as a usual flirt, but nopony else knew his favorite flavor. "Hey aren't you-" he started. "Just call me Derpy." She said, cutting MonoChrome off. "I don't think that is a proper name." he chuckled, breaking his moody style. "I thought you were crosseyed." he said motioning for her to sit down. "Oh." she said, breaking her concentration. Her eyes went to their usual crossed position. "Hey, uhh, do you think we could hang out sometime?" she asked quickly. "Sure, that'd be pretty cool." MonoChrome answered, already getting ready for class. She got up, and got ready herself. And then the usual admiration flock formed around MonoChrome. Backflips, barrel rolls, and other moves made a black and white streak across the open roof area.

The club in PonyVille was where they had decided to meet. Derpy was waiting at the front door, she had been for the past thirty minutes, she had thought he wasn't going to come. They had talked right before Derpy had left. She was about to get up, she though; Oh I was a fool for thinking I could go with him. She looked up at the stars, and saw a Black and White streak headed towards her. It hit the ground, making a cloud of dirt arise. "Sorry I'm late, when I dress differently, i am swarmed." MonoChrome said, brushing off his clothes. "Really, I am sorry, I hope I didn't ruin anything." Monochrome continued opening the door to the club. Strobe lights illuminated the dancefloor. A record was spinning, the DJ not present. Derpy trotted around, amazed at the lights. MonoChrome was just as amazed, except he was stunned. He looked around at the brightly dressed ponies, then at his black and white attire. But whene he looked, they had turned purple. MonoChrome and Derpy stumbled on to the dancefloor. They were out of place when it came to the ponies attending. They were the only two pegasi visible in the club. After three hours of partying they decided to leave. MonoChrome had something to drink, he now had a lampshade on his head and was muttering. Being an excellent flier, he crashed three times along the way. When he had finally made it to Derpy's home to drop her off. After a quick bite at her house, MonoChrome was about to leave, but fell asleep over the couch, and landed. Derpy chuckled, chance that he didn't crash. She tossed a blanket on him and left for her own room.

Is this what I wanted?

MonoChrome got up off of the ground, wiping blood from his muzzle. He looked at the crowd that had formed around the three colts fighting. One of the colts used this to his advantage and sent a hoof flying into his face. He looked for a second and noticed niether of his foes had wings. His gaze returned to the crowd. He looked for a specific pony, he did not locate her, but he did see Rainbow chuckling in the crowd. He then knew what he would do. He forced on of the colt's head down, making him collapse. He looked to his other attacker, and saw two rear hooves coming towards him. MonoChrome was sent rocketing to a wall. Both colts were up and headed towards him. He could not move, It was as if he were just watching. Then the two colts just kicked him while he was down. Then MonoChrome regained control of his body, and kicked one of the colts where it counts. The other was still kickng him, he grabbed the colt's leg and forced him to the ground. MonoChrome flew up, then flew down towards the colt and dug his hoof into the colt. He plopped down on the ground, and asked; "Now where the hell is my money?". He put his hoof out to a scoffing Rainbow Dash, and she handed him his payment. "Damn it, I got blood on my clothes." MonoChrome said, looking at the red on his usually Black and white cloak.

MonoChrome groaned, he had classes today. He was very tired, he looked to the other side of the bed, it was empty. He was either alone that night or the other had left. His cloak was no where to be found. "Oh well, Looks like I wear backup clothing." He said, getting dressed. He was well out the door when his hoof hit something. He looked down and saw a box. MonoChrome opened the box and there was a bag. on the bag it said "Fresh" and inside were muffins, all of them blueberry. "Thanks." he said, knowing nopony was in earshot.

MonoChrome had his rear hooves propped up, the other two behind his head. He was still watching the preformance, just not as intently. He looked down a few rows to see Derpy, scanning the crowd for him. She was looking at all the Pegasi that were watching intently, almost not noticing the one relaxing. A wadded piece of paper landed in her lap. "Three rows up, ten seats over." was written on it. She scanned to the seat directed, and MonoChrome was motioning to an empty seat next to him. Derpy quickly floated over to the seat. "You know that was pretty hard to keep open Di- I mean "Derpy" MonoChrome said, emphasizing "Derpy". Eventually Derpy propped up her hooves and relaxed.

After a long day MonoChrome returned home, more specifically to his bed. He slept until the sun went down the next day.

Secrets Uncovered

"Three...Two...One! Go!" Yelled four pegasai as they threw Derpy out of her home, and towards the ground. Being half awake, she couldn't react, she could only think: What is going on? Who are they? What is going to happen to me?

While back up in Derpy's home, the four pegasai were joined by a fifth. "Is it done?" the latest one asked, fixing her rainbow mane. The others nodded theair heads. As they all shared a laugh, a whoosh sent their leader out the window, followed by a black and white streak.

"Really, you threw her out of her house, towards the ground?!" MonoChrome yelled, hooves wrapped around Rainbow's throat. When her only response was laughter, she was thrown aside. MonoChrome's speed greatly increased as he flew towards Derpy, his muscles were burning, His eyes stung from the wind going into them, But he didn't care he ignored everything that his body was telling him. His only focus was Derpy, he had to save her. Soon his streak became just a blue fog. The only words in his head were: Strive, and save. His fur started to turn black, and his eyes blue.

Derpy's screams amplified when she saw her "Savior". The great black wings, attached to the slender black body, the blue fog magic mane, all terrified Derpy until at a point where she literally passed out.

"Damn it mom!" MonoChrome yelled as he raced towards derpy, starting to feel a protusion from his forehead. As soon as He caught Derpy, his direction changes instantly upwards, to the open window.

"Holy shit, Get the fuck out!" said one of the pegasai who had thrown Derpy out as the black alicorn landed in the room. When they were gone, MonoChrome reverted back to himself, locked Derpy's doors, and flew out her window.

"So you lied?! All these years you said It would not happen! And yet it did!" MonoChrome screamed at Princess Luna. "My son, you know how you were concieved. Times were different, I was not myself." was her reply. "I Scared my only friend into a possible hatred for me, and you are trying to tell me something unusable to my situation! Now I see why Celestia moved me from your care, you have officially ruined my life!" MonoChrome exclamed, being held back by the royal guards. Luna did not respond, just looked down, unresponsive. While fighting through the guards, MonoChrome's fur started to shift. "I'm sorry" the princess said, not looking up. "My life is ruined and your sorry?!" was the last he said before leaving on his own accord.

Cross my heart

"I'm tellin' ya it was Nightmare Moon! You gotta believe me Dash!" said one of the pegasai that had been involved in Derpy's throwout. "Impossible. Nightmare Moon is gone, she turned back to Luna before my eyes. You where seeing things." Rainbow replied, Slamming her locker.

"MonoChrome calm down, There are certainly many things are going through your head currently. You may stay here in Canterlot until things clear up for you." Celestia said, opening a door to a suite in the castle. "Princess, This is not nec-" MonoChrome started. "I insist." Celestia said, opening the curtains. "Do you really think it is safe to have me near mom in this time?" He asked. Celestia stopped in thought. "What about Derpy, I don't think she is currently safe." He said. "I will make sure she is safe, just don't worry." the alicorn replied. "Okay." was the last thing MonoChrome said before flopping onto the bed.

Another knock, and again no answer. "This isn't like MonoChrome" Derpy thought out loud. "Aww did your little boyfwiend leave you?" A mocking voice started from behind her. Derpy turned around, and saw Rainbow Dash standing behind her. "I guess he realized that you were a-" she started before Derpy's two rear hooves landed in the middle of her face. "I see now, the bitch doesn't play nice." Dash said, spitting out a bit of blood. "You have made my life a living hell, with no muffins, and it ends here!" Derpy screamed into Dash's face before tackling the cyan pegasus. A crowd of ponies had formed around them, watching the opressed grey pegasus stand up. After a few minutes it was obvious that Derpy was winning, for she was on top of Dash, and continually bashed her head against the ground. After two more bashes Dash screamed: "Alright I give up, just stop it." Tears were welling in her eyes, as she flew off in defeat.

Derpy patted herself free of any dirt and saw a note attached to MonoChrome's door it read: "To Whom it may concern: I will be in Canterlot, as a guest to the Royal Castle. It is Important family business." Derpy raced home after reading it, packed her bags, and boarded the next Balloon ride to Canterlot.

Changes

"Hello? Who's there?" a groggy MonoChrome said, poking his head from his bedsheets. The knocking continued, a slow steady pace, It added to MonoChrome's growing headache. "I'm coming, I'm coming." he said, tossing the pillow at the door. He floated over to the door, wings stretching themselves after a long day's sleep. MonoChrome opened the door and started to say: "Hel-" before being tackled by a grey pegasus. "Derpy! What are you doing here in Canterlot?" he asked, getting up. "A better question is what are you doing here?" was her reply. "Long story." MonoChrome stated, and put on his clothes.

"So this is Canterlot, It is breathtaking." Derpy said, looking out of MonoChrome's window at the night-time scene below. "And look at the full moon." she finished. When she mentioned the moon MonoChrome stopped digging through the closet for his spare cloak. He thought of Luna and slammed his closet closed. "Something wrong?" she asked, turning around. "Huh, oh, no nothing is wrong, and here, put this on." MonoChrome said, tossing her the cloak that hung on his bed. "Looks like it was not in the closet." Derpy said, spinning in the mirror to check out how she looked. "C'mon we are not gonna be late if we want good seats at the table." MonoChrome said, heading out the door.

Their hoovesteps echoed as they walked down the grand halls, the steady rythmic beat of hoof on marble. "So why are you here?" Derpy asked, breaking the silence. "Like the note said, family business." MonoChrome replied, without glancing over. Derpy looked down, then at her clothing. "Why am I dressed like you?" she asked, gesturing to her clothing. "So the guards know you are my guest." he said, studying how the cloak fit on her. "Oh." she finished, then felt something in her pockets. "And there is a muffin in your pocket, why?" She asked holding up the blueberry muffin. "Eh, what can I say, I get hungry from time to time." he replied, pulling a muffin out of his own pocket, and proceeded to take a bite from it. "Is there one in all of your clothing?" she asked, yet another question. "No. Sometimes I carry up to four in my pockets." MonoChrome finished, opening the doors to the dining hall.

"Ah MonoChrome glad you could make it." Said a Smiling Celestia, pointing to two empty seats. At that gesture Derpy nearly fainted, thoughts bounced around in her head; Dinner with the princess! In the grand dining hall! Oh my gosh!.

About a minute later, MonoChrome and Derpy were already sharing stories with Celestia and her guest; Twilight Sparkle. Having moved to canterlot for two years on account of studies, she had not spoken with any of her friends except for Rarity, who occasionally visited. After a few minutes Twilight whispered something to Celestia, and a silent conversation started. "So who's he?" Twilight asked, gesturing to MonoChrome. "He is Luna's son, and it is a long story." The princess replied. Twilight looked puzzled, "He is of Royal Blood? Well, I've seen a dragon take several adult forms, so this shouldn't be startling, but a regular, yet good looking Pegasus is royal?" she asked. The princess nodded as the doors opened, in entering a well dressed Rainbow Dash. "Dash, it has been years we need to catch up!" Twilight said, running to her friend. "Yeah, uh Rarity told me you'd be here tonight so I came." The cyan pegasus said, following her friend to the table. while on the way MonoChrome and Dash's eyes locked, and a spark of an upcoming fight started.

Derpy somewhat recognized the new guest, but did not remember the rivalry. She was like that. After dinner went off without a hitch, MonoChrome and Derpy walked back down the hall to MonoChrome's room. Along the way the each picked up a glass of cider. "What is one thing NOT in Canterlot?" Derpy said, looking at the glass. "A lot of things, where do I start?" MonoChrome responded and took a sip of cider, and then got to the door of Suite 13, his room.
