The Strange Stallion
On one day that seemed just like any other day while walking back to the library Twilight turns to Spike
“Things really have slowed down since the Gala” she said
“I know,” said Spike “usually by now somepony is arguing over something or Pinkie is being... well Pinkie”. Just as Twilight sighs she hears a strange noise from somewhere like she’s never heard before
“Did you hear that?” she said looking around “where is that sound coming from?” Spike just shrugs and says
“I don’t know but it’s probably not important”
“You’re right,” said Twilight “anyway I need to get back to studying”. After a short walk, they got back to the library, Twilight notices that the door is half open and when she looks in she sees a strange stallion going through the books and throwing them away saying “no” and “still not it”. After the initial shock wore off she tries to get his attention and after a few attempts he turns around.
“What are you doing here?” said the strange stallion
“I live here” said Twilight
“You live in a library?” he said with a puzzled look “well... I guess you won’t run out of things to read”.
“I’m Twilight Sparkle and you are?” said Twilight, still confused
“Oh sorry I forgot my manners,” he said “I’m the Doctor”
“Doctor who?” asked Twilight
“No just the Doctor” he said in a way that sounds like he says this a lot. After a few seconds of trying to figure out if he was making fun of her, Twilight remembers what she first saw
“What are you looking for?” she asks
“Something, heck anything that can explain this” he say while trying to point to himself
“Explain what?” asks Twilight, scratching her head
“Explain why I am a pony now” says the Doctor
“Wait what!?” exclaims Twilight
“Oh yeah right,” said the Doctor slapping his head and nearly falling from slight loss of balance “I need to bring up this part first”. The Doctor then turns around so he’s properly facing Twilight and says “I was in my TAR... ship just like normal except I was on my own, then there were a few explosions, also normal, and then I’m knocked out by... something”.
“And then what?” asked Spike
“I’m getting to that!” said the Doctor “Then when I woke up I felt a little odd and when I tried to get back up I noticed my hands are now missing and that I now have hooves then after somehow getting the door open I found myself in this strange looking town”.
“If you’re not a pony then what are you?” Twilight asks with a slight hint of sarcasm
“I’m a Time Lord” said the Doctor
“And what does that look like?” asks Twilight
“Have you ever seen a Human?” asked the Doctor
“No” said Twilight “they’re just old pony’s tales” after a pause the Doctor says
“Right well if you’ve ever seen some kind of picture of one then I probably look like that”.
Still unsure about whether or not she should believe him, Twilight says
“Sorry I don’t think there’s a book here for that”
“Well, so much for that approach” said the Doctor as he leaves
“Wait!” said Twilight “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to have another go at using the controls on my ship with these hooves to see if I can at least find out what happened.” Then he starts to leave the library
“Maybe I can help?” asked Twilight, causing the Doctor to stop
“How?” he responded
“I can manipulate the controls with my unicorn magic,” says Twilight as she points out her horn
“just tell me what I need to do”.
“I was hoping you’d say something like that” said the Doctor with a smile. Then, as they leave the library, he remembers where he landed
“I remember leaving the ship over by some strangely edible looking building” he said
“Did you meet anypony else?” Asked Twilight, then the Doctor pauses for a moment because of the term anypony else then laughs a little
“Well there was this one strange pink pony but she just gasped and ran off” he said.
“That was Pinkie Pie” said Twilight as she rolled her eyes.
“At least I now know I don’t have to worry about that rather strange encounter” said the Doctor.
Not to long later they arrive at a strangely placed Police Box “Well, here it is” he said as he pats the door. Twilight paused for a moment.
“Is that really your ship?” She asked with a puzzled look
“Well, it’s a disguise,” said the Doctor “my ship scans the area it lands for the best disguise... then turns into a Police Box.”
“You first, Doctor” said Twilight. The Doctor opens the door just as some loud, crashing sounds came from within.
“What?” The Doctor pulls back, a confused expression on his face.
“What?”He looks inside again to make sure, frowning a little giving off one last “What?”
He shakes his head and enters, Twilight following out of curiosity; when they both got in, Twilight sees Pinkie Pie and a crowd of partying ponies have somehow managed to get inside.
“Oh, hey Twilight!” said Pinkie as she waves to her “I see you met Doc here.”
“Do you do this to everypony you meet?” asked Twilight
“Do what?” replied Pinkie
“Never mind” said Twilight then she turns to the Doctor, “sorry about this, Doctor”
“Oh don’t worry about it” said the Doctor “I’m not really in a rush so I guess we have time for a party, Allons-y!” then before joining in he turns to Pinkie “Also it’s Doctor, not Doc” he said.
Okie dokie lokie!” she said as she ruffles he mane a little and then she happily hops off.

Chapter 2: How did I get here?
After the party and everypony had cleared out, Twilight had a chance to get a good look around the control room. It was the most impressive place she had ever seen (in fact it was nothing like she ever seen) and she was speechless. After a moment of gawking at her surroundings she turns to the Doctor, who had noticed her amazement and was trying (and failing) not to look smug about it
“This place is so big!” she said “shouldn’t there be more of these “Time Lords” to operate this?”
“Normally yes” said the Doctor as his mood dropped
“Where are they?” asked Twilight, the Doctor sighs
“They’re all gone” he said “I’m the only one left”.
Twilight can see this was a very sore topic and tries to change it by pointing to the console because it looked important and made the most noises
“So is this the control thingy you needed me to use?” she asked awkwardly
“Oh, right!” he said and he then began to give instructions for what button or lever or other strange thing she needed to push, pull or hit. It was very confusing and some of the instructions didn’t make any sense and at times she wondered why does she need to hit the console with a hammer, but she somehow she managed to pull it off. Twilight then noticed that the Doctor was now carefully reading something so she went over to see. What she saw didn’t make much sense to her and what the Doctor was about to say didn’t help either.
“Yes, of course!” he shouted as he slapped his head “somehow overpowering the TARDIS’s engines trough the time vortex has not only taken be to another dimension but a whole different universe!”. He stops for a moment “which still doesn’t make sense!” he continues “unless, no” he stops again.
“No what?” asked Twilight, who is getting worried
“Something must have brought me to this universe” he said looking serious “something very powerful” he then smiles “and whoever or whatever did this must have heard of me! But then I have saved a few hundred planets and….” After the Doctor finishes babbling about himself he remembers Twilight is still there and is growing more confused with every word he’s been saying.
“Thanks for helping but I can take things from here” he says “usually I end up walking into the problem of the week not too long after leaving the TARDIS”.
“Are you sure” asked Twilight “You can only just about handle walking”.
“Well OK, I guess I’ll need a little help with this one” he said with one hoof behind his neck.
“A little?” Twilight says with a smile.
“OK, I’ll need a lot of help” he said “but only while I adjust to being a pony”. As they leave the TARDIS, Twilight looks back at the Police Box and it sinks in how it really is much bigger on the inside. She shrugs this off by assuming that Time Lords could use magic in ways she couldn’t imagine.
“So how does this usually work?” she asks
“Well, usually I wonder around a little and notice something out of the ordinary and go after it” he says “which may be a little hard this time as everything is out of the ordinary for me right now”. “Take for example that pegasus pony over there with the strange eyes” he continues
“You mean Derpy?” asked Twilight
“What kind of name is?” the Doctor then stop himself and says “Yes, Derpy, how can she fly with her eyes like that?” he asks.
“That’s kind of a rude question” said Twilight “she practiced just like any other pony, that’s just the way she was born”
“Sorry” he quietly said “I guess I should have picked a better example” after thinking for a second he continues “I mean like how this place has English speaking ponies, pegasus ponies, unicorn ponies and magic!” he then stops and realises “wait a minute, I’m going to be the out of place companion this time aren’t I”
“Or you could just calm down and accept this universe is very different from yours” said Twilight “now let’s see, what’s strange with Ponyville” she then adds “like anything is ever normal here”. While wondering around asking the ponies in town if they’ve noticed anything odd they come across Twilight’s friend, Applejack.
“Hey, nice Doctor Whooves costume” she said “but Nightmare Night is still a few months away”
“Actually, it’s the Doctor” he said awkwardly while figuring out that Nightmare Night is their Halloween.
“Now don’t y’all get started too” said Applejack with hint of frustration “I’ve already had Big Macintosh talk my ear off about it and he’s only on the second book!”
At this moment, the Doctor realises he’s a fictional character in this universe and remembers My Little Pony from his universe, but everything seems so different since last time he’s heard of it. Everyone or everypony for that matter seems more… tolerable and no one has offered a make over or tea party to solve his problem. After making a mental note to check out this different version when he gets back he then notices that Twilight has just finished explaining him to Applejack.
“Well if yer gonna say here a while you could ask the Cakes of you could borrow their spare room” said Applejack “don’t hold yer breath though, I hear they’ve got a lil’ cupcake in the oven if you catch my drift”. The Doctor then shudders a little, he really didn’t need to think about ponies reproducing. After thanking Applejack for the pointer and getting the Cakes to lend him the spear room in exchange for a little work here and there, he notices it’s late and says goodnight to Twilight and goes to the spare room. Before going to sleep he tried to make sense of why going to this universe made him a pony and why did he have to be one of the normal ground ponies. After a while he drifts off to sleep.
